Street Providence Trust, Goa presents a new project: POGO Rations.

For over 3 years Street Providence has been running many projects for the poor, homeless, marginalized, HIV + and the sick, etc .

However, during the past 3 years, we met numerous poor ethnic Goans living in pathetic conditions, lacking basic nutrition. They had no education, hence were unable to get jobs. Due to lack of jobs, the younger generation moved away, leaving the old and aged to fend for themselves.

Abandoned by their loved ones these old Goan men and women had no one to hear their woes and fell into abject poverty.

We at STREET PROVIDENCE were moved by their plight and decided to step in and provide dry rations every month.

Rations for POGO ( Person of Goan Origin ) was thus started.

We now raise support for these rations online .

Each Ration kit contains the following

  • Rice – 5 kg
  • Sugar – 2 kg
  • Masoor dal – 1 kg
  • Vatana – 1 kg
  • Atta – 5 kgs
  • Tea powder – 500 gms
  • Cooking oil – 1 pkt
  • Salt – 1 kg
  • Haldi powder – 1 pkt
  • Chilli powder – 1 pkt

As of date we are providing close to 500 dry ration kits every month.

( 250 POGO rations and 250 to HIV included) across various pockets of Goa

The cost of each ration kit is Rs. 1,000/- (logistics included)

Calling all Goans across the World, India & Goa – If you know of any relative, friend, neighbour, or acquaintance, trying hard to put 2 meals on the table for the family, please come forward and support them.
