COVID – 19 VACCINATION DRIVE
THE COVID- 19 Pandemic has played havoc all over the world causing death and misery.
Goa was also affected and recorded over 3000 deaths in the last one year. The Government of Goa initiated a vaccination drive and by October, 2021 the majority of eligible Goans were vaccinated with the first dose.
However a miniscule population of the economically backward mentally / physically challenged persons, the very elderly and the bedridden were not able to get themselves vaccinated though the government provided the vaccine free of cost. This was due to:
- Old age or being bed ridden.
- Health constraints.
- Having to hire costly private transport.
- Moving out of the house may be a risk to their health.
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST together with our Partners and with the support of DIRECTORATE OF HEALTH SERVICES, Govt. of Goa has now embarked on a drive to provide COVID 19 Vaccination to the above mentioned persons at their door step or at a convenient place in their villages. Also we will make the vaccines available at the Old Age Homes and Shelter Homes.
A campaign on social media and street hoardings is now on to encourage and motivate such persons. We will cover all the villages in Goa and vaccinate at least 10,000 persons.
