KERALA FLOOD RELIEF

In August, 2018, severe floods affected the south Indian state of Kerala, due to unusually high rainfall during the monsoon season.  Thousands of people were affected and displaced from their homes and were housed in relief
camps..

We at STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST felt the need to help these displaced people.

On 18 th August, 2018 we sent a truck with our first consignment with 700 crates of 1 litre bottled Drinking water to Kerala.

This was followed by 12 more trucks with relief material to Angamaly, Allepey, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Kollam, Pavaraty Trichur, Chalakudy, Medikeri Coorg in Karnataka etc.

We sent almost Rs. 1.25 Crores worth of relief material. It took 13 trucks to deliver this relief material to Kerala and Coorg in Karnataka.

Items like Packaged food, Clothing, Towels, bedsheets, blankets, Toiletries, Bleaching powder for cleaning homes, Sanitary napkins, Medicines for common ailments, Baby food, Potassium Permanganate, Rice, Dhall, etc were sent.

Funds and all Relief material was donated by benefactors based on our appeal in social media.

Transport Companies offered their trucks free of cost to deliver these goods.

Our team of volunteers travelled to Kerala to help in the distribution of materials.
