REQUIRES YOUR HELP TO PAY FOR THE MEDICAL EXPENSES OF THIS POOR GOAN MAN

9.7.2021 7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA requires your help to pay for the medical expenses of this poor goan man , Mr Fernandes , from Sanguem , suffering from a Tumor in his chest.
One of our volunteers, Mr Akash from Curchorem, while distributing dry ration early in the month of June 21, came across this poor Goan family , aged 40 years, where in the man is suffering from a Tumor in his chest.
Since they are poor and not much educated, they were not sure how to go about the same.
For many weeks they were trying to raise the resources but not much success.
A reputed private hospital, agreed to perform the surgery but that was costing Rs 2 lacs .
Mr Akash requested me to help.
I went through all the medical papers and took a second opinion at GMC .
Gmc suggested radiation for 10 days at Manipal Hospital which is covered under the DSSY scheme .
But still they had to pay Rs 6500 which we paid.
Now covering the distance from interior Sanguem to Manipal is about 70 kms one way and the gentleman is too weak to move in a public bus plus the pandemic.
I understand after 30 min radiation, he requires to rest.
In which public transport can this poor goan man rest?
Then the 2nd option was to hire a taxi up and down, ie from Sanguem to Manipal & back , but the roads are not in good condition and he will ultimately get tired.
So the only Solution was to accommodate him in some small accommodation as our shelter home is not suited for such emergencies.
Every day our van takes him for radiation and brings him back.
We are over stretched with our homeless street people in our homes, but yet we went ahead with helping this man.
Helping this man was never going to be easy and I ended up in many issues but we are determined to see that we can play a small part during his time of pain and sickness.
We even hired an additional driver to take care of this man's medical issues.
We have taken the responsibility of his accommodation, transport and food for 12 days.
Once we finish this radiation course he will be referred back to GMC for further course of action and may be surgery.
We assured his wife that we will try our level best to assist them in all possible ways during these difficult times.
Like this gentleman, there have been many such cases from Sanguem , Curchorem, Quepem, brought to our attention by
Mr Akash, of poor goan people, who required medical help and we have provided the best and the little we could.
We will upload this man picture and video once he is treated at Gmc .
Please help us to help this poor goan man as he fights the tumor in his body.
All support is welcome and appreciated.

Live From The Field

8.7.2021 5pm IST
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR, SANGOLDA, GOA , has been feeding hundreds if not a few thousand families, dry ration during this 2nd wave across Goa only .
We will be presenting you our different, trusted and hardworking volunteers who have been working quietly for last many years and more specifically in the last 2 months.
Today we travel to CANACONA taluka and our volunteer is Mrs Sharon and her silent husband.
You must watch the 2 min video. 👇
Attached a poster covering the 61 families in CANACONA taluka for dry ration.
Sharon and Street Providence goes back to Aug 2018 , during the Kerala Flood relief when we managed to collect Rs 1.5 crore relief and send 13 trucks to Kerala.
♡♡ Sharon was our point in CANACONA.
Sharon identified about 25 poor goan families right through the 1st lockdown and from Dec 2020 we were giving her dry ration kits for these families.
In May 21 , during the 2nd wave we increased these to 50 families and for june 21, we gave out 61 dry ration kits .
Sharon , her husband and kids physically pack these ration in their small garment shop in CANACONA market and then some are physically moved out to the far flung areas by them in their own car, while the near by families come over to the shop to pick.
Not an easy and cheap task as Covering Canacona Taluka from Agonda to Galjibag must be one way min 20 kms.
Sharon once took me along and we encountered very poor and financially backward families.
Most are old , lonely, unemployed and all were sick with some sort of sickness and ailment.
Initially we decided to provide dry ration which we are providing but medicines are also required on a monthly basis.
If there are any Goan associations abroad from CANACONA taluka please help us to help our own poor Goan families.
Both communities are helped in equal ratio.
Alot of old and lonely people require transport to go either to District Hospital Margao or GMC Bambolim and we are working on a long term solution to this demand.
Sharon has a complete list of these 61 families and its increasing and if you can join in both as a volunteer and benefactor, please let me know.
I can say with confidence that Sharon & her husband are doing the best they can, without any grumble or murmur especially during the rains as distribution is not easy as the car at times does not reach the door step.
It's been a wonderful experience working with so many volunteers in different areas over the last few years and Sharon and her husband are one of these volunteers.

FINALLY MANAGES TO GET THIS HOMELESS MAN SAMBHAJI , COMPLETELY TREATED AT GMC .

6.7.2021 7pm
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST, GOA finally manages to get this homeless man Sambhaji , completely treated at GMC .
On 4.6.2021 we had picked him up from the subway of GMC 👇 read below and see how he looked that day.
This is sambhaji story in short
☆ 1. Full May 21 roaming around endlessly in panjim city without disturbing anyone in terrible pain in his groin.
☆ 2. May 24th admitted in GMC by some good Samaritans.
☆ 3. Within a few days he is spotted in the subway of Gmc in pathetic condition
☆ 4. June 4th we pick him from the subway and take him to our home.
We try to stabilize him but we are unable to.
☆ 5. June 7th we re-admitted him into Gmc all cleaned up into ward no 120.
☆ 6. On June 10th late night , he was absconding as per his case paper from that ward.
☆ 7 . June 12th we searched him and found him in the vicinity of GMC and re-admitted him after all the same procedure and paperwork in Ward 115.
☆ 8. On July 5th July we finally discharged him and took him to our shelter home.
This old man gave our team alot of trouble but our commitment can't be stopped.
♡♡ Big thanks to all the Doctors & Nurses at GMC for providing fantastic service to this homeless man and saving his life .
♡♡ Big thanks to Wilson Rodrigues from panjim and his friend Kenny , who on 25th May picked Sambhaji from the streets of Panjim and took him till the casualty ward of Gmc.
Once we take a homeless person into our home we will treat him like family till he dies.
Attached a 2 min video of sambhaji from may 24th to July 5th. 👇
Q. What was Sambaji treated for?
Ans .Shambaji after being picked up was found to have multiple complications.
His heart was not pumping blood properly and excess fluid was lagged all over the body ,so much so that the fluid blocked blood supply to one of his toes which became gangrenous .
The toxins released from gangrene worsened his heart failure and it was vicious circle.
Doctors treated his infection with high IVv antibiotics and and removed the excess fluid in body to the reduce the work on heart, and after a tough battle he survived.
Conclusion:
That's why you can see how much weight Sambhaji has lost in the last 45 days .
We were all shocked to see him all reduced in weight when he was discharged on 5th July 21.
Compassion is what we give to the homeless and sick.
And majority of these homeless can never help us in any way and we too expect nothing from them as we are providing AGAPE to them .
We pick from hospitals, police stations, streets, etc all types of homeless , sick and people with disabilities who have no place to go and rehabilitate and care for them.
We require your support and help to reach out to them .
Support us in whatever way you can.
Donate generously to our NGO.
We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.

EXTENDS COMPASSION TO THIS MIDDLE AGED GOAN MAN

4.7.2021 5pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA extends COMPASSION to this middle aged goan man who required a hand to start life afresh .
Hanumant has been drinking alcohol and reached a state where he can't even stand and take care of himself.
A fall from a tree compounded his already troubled health issues and he ended up being unwanted by everyone.
Blood has collected in his knee due to the fall .
Tomorrow he will taken to GMC for a check up .
His skin has pealed of his both tighs and that is painning him .
We were updated , approached and requested to help him get out off his misery.
When our team initially visited him , he was all weak, in unclean environment and lost in a run down , shackled old balcony.
The day we agreed to pick him as the video will speak for itself, he was not clean to be transported to our home.
Our team, tried to clean him on the spot, put a pamper and then supported his weak body to our Ambulance.
Such acts and deeds are only heard off in today modern day world.
We have managed to perfect this service as most of our team members themselves were picked like this before being treated and cared for.
And one naturally understands that they have to give the same service they got earlier when they themselves were homeless.
I remind these rehabilitated men that once okay , they need to go out and help to pick others who need help irrespective of the ground reality.
HANUMANT will be detoxified and cared for with nutrition, medication, hospital trips and within 3 months back to normal incase it is just alcohol related.
I appreciate our core team members, Sapnesh & Douglas and other team members for understanding and sharing COMPASSION especially during this pandemic times.
Hanumant has been shifted to our Covid Care rehabilitation hut at Assnora where he will be isolated and treated for the next 14 days.
It's a difficult, complicated, tiring service to those looking to start life again but if planned meticulously and monitored well then results are bound to come.
Different teams are involved in our men's rehabilitation program and all these teams work in tandem with each other on a daily basis with continous communication between all.
If you believe the word COMPASSION & that you too would like to play your part as a volunteer , partner , supporter, collaborator , benefactor then u can get in touch with us through a whatsapp message only on 8380097564.

WE WRITE ABOUT THIS ,91 YEAR OLD , LONELY, AMPUTATED GOAN AJOBA , MR. NARAYAN TELI

1.7.2021 7pm IST

STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA wishes all Doctors a Happy Doctors Day , especially our volunteer Dr who helps us in our rehabilitation homes.
Today we write about this ,91 year old , lonely, amputated goan AJOBA , Mr Narayan Teli, who because of our Dr , is today in our home alive , energetic, active and rocking inspite of his disability.
☆ AJOBA Mr Narayan a bachelor was living in a hut / shack / home , you decide as the picture is attached in a very sad and miserable state but yet going on.
Lots of anger, attitude, unholy words, etc made him cut off all ties with his brother who lived just next door who wanted to help him but Ajoba Mr Narayan refused.
One day 5 months back , Mr Mendonca from Mr Farmer Guirim requested us to supply dry ration to the poor blind families in that area and you can call it PROVIDENCE, Ajoba Narayan name was in that list.
Attached a picture of his home and 4 min video .👇
How his name reached the blind list is still a mystery .
Ajoba Narayan is not blind but our man gave him the dry ration kit and quickly reported his condition to Mr Mendonca.
♡ Mr Mendonca from the National Association for the blind ( NAB) , requested on humanitarian grounds to accommodate Ajoba Narayan in our home .
We agreed and his brother did all the paperwork.
Our Dr who is a psychiatrist, one day visited him and spoke to him a few words which cooled him down completely and till date Ajoba Mr Narayan is a very cool , calm, relaxed man .
We did not put this on social media then and hype the condition of his home as no one is to be blamed.
Ajoba Narayan, I understand has green fingers/ thumb and wants to do gardening and anything with plants.
We initially allowed him but the risk is too high incase he stumbles as he is really huge and heavy .
We allow him to supervise the other homeless men in the home for the gardening work just to keep him happy.
This post is not about raising any money for Ajoba Mr Narayan as he does not require any luxury .
He required humanity , company, fellow being , love, care, etc.
Which we provide in our home freely without a charge.
Ajoba Mr Narayan gels perfectly well with Sapnesh and confides alot in him.
It can also be a bonding of a parent with a son.
We don't know and will never know what draws Ajoba Mr Narayan to Sapnesh.
Like this Ajoba , we have another 25 + such poor old goans both ladies and gents who due to many reasons reached our home .
We as a registered NGO also take care of another 300 + families across Goa for food , medicines, house repairs, etc strictly thru our volunteers.
We will in future highlight some of these poor goan people who don't require any thing except food, clothing, shelter, medication, love and care.
Running a complicated and complex NGO brings us to different GOAN people & families suffering from hunger , poverty, loneliness, mental issues, rejection , etc.
It's people like you reading and sharing our post, which propels us forward.
We are a small NGO , which is Poor in Spirit, but big hearted on the ground and in reality.
Providence is what I believe in and both waves and entire pandemic, we have been blessed abundantly, both with resources and people to rehabilitate and feed food in their homes & on streets in different cities of Goa.
If there are any such lonely Goan Ajobas , we can be contacted and we will look into the matter and will help on case to case basis Subject to availability of space.
We will accept in any condition without any charges provided they are poor .
We require your support and help to reach out to them .

GETS ANOTHER WOUNDED, HOMELESS MAN FROM CHICALIM HEALTH CENTRE

30.6.21 7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST,  GOA gets another wounded, homeless man from Chicalim Health Centre into our rehabilitation home.
☆ Dr Anil , the Incharge of Chicalim Health Centre , requested me to consider Mr Raju Naik as he has no place to go once discharged.
Raju Naik as he says his name as well as the other records, has a wound for close to 30 years .
Alcohol and being on the streets has aggravated the wound that it requires amputation.
I am not sure how else to treat and save that wound.
Attached a 1 min video 👇
Still we will take him to GMC once detoxified for a second opinion and multiple tests and checks.
He is now accommodated at Assnora , in our Covid isolation hut so as to avoid any risk to the other men.
Quite man with no complaints or trouble.
Feel disappointed looking at such cases coming to us daily.
It's very difficult for a human being who is homeless and sick and wounded.
Alcohol and tobacco is the only solution to kill the pain and agony.
But that turns out to be a deadly cocktail which further worsens the entire health of such homeless people.
It's the monsoon season and there are many out on the streets of Goa looking to get off the streets.
We require your support and help to reach out to them .
Support us in whatever way you can.

We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.

HAS BEEN FEEDING HUNDREDS IF NOT A FEW THOUSAND FAMILIES WITH DRY RATION

29.6.2021 7pm IST
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR, SANGOLDA, GOA  has been feeding hundreds if not a few thousand families, dry ration during this 2nd wave .
We will be presenting you our different, trusted and hardworking volunteers who have been working quietly for last many years and more specifically in the last 2 months.
Today we write about Sr Fatima & 500 kits of dry ration given out for June 21 by Sr.
♡♡ Sr Fatima , Superior General , FMCK.
Based in Old Goa .
We as the food bank have been associated with her in Old Goa from early 2018.
I approached Sr and requested her to provide dry ration to poor and needy families in and around old goa.
Basically , Sr has the Space to repack and the man power in the form of Nuns .
Besides she has been feeding quite a no of poor people through our fridge which is installed in her home in old goa
pre pandemic March 2020.
She agreed and she started listing down the poorest of the poor.
Her 2 min video is attached which explains it all.👇
Like bees to honey , so also the poor and needy reached Sr Fatima.
She identified both in equal ratio , Goans & migrants as our major benefactor had requested that dry ration during the pandemic should go to both.
Sr & her team listed down names, addresses and other details and sent us.
We did a random background checking and most were verified to be poor.
For the month of May 2021, we provided ration which amounted to 313 kits being distributed by Sr Fatina to 313 families.
Seeing their commitment, service and paperwork, for June 2021 , we sent to
Sr Fatima at old Goa, dry ration for 500 families as by now word spread and more poor people were at their door step.
Sr Fatima and her team , took the challenge and repacked within 3 days all these 500 kits and with proper care, distrusted most of these kits in their convent at old Goa.
Both months, May & June 2021, Sr Fatima also sent few kits to Pompurba where the Fmck nuns run their school and Panjim , Pinedade Institute, where Fmck nuns are based.
Both places again poor & needy were identified, listed down , we verified and ration was given.
It's amazing feeling , we as the base along our volunteer, ie Sr Fatima and her team have reached out so many poor , homeless, hungry families during these 2 months.
No chest thumping, no sensational promotion, no self glorification , no media coverage but only hard work and commitment to reach out to the poorest of the poor.
You must watch the 2 min video
We thank Sr Fatima & her nuns @ Old Goa for all the support given to serve the poor in the form of dry ration for May & June 21.
Not an easy task, believe me .
For 4 years I have been packing and repacking ration and its very tiring and difficult.

PICKS UP THIS WHEELCHAIR BOUND HOMELESS MAN , FROM CANDOLIM HEALTH CENTRE

28.6.2021 7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST, GOA, picks up this wheel chair bound Homeless man , from Candolim Health Centre, Mr Raju Das , from Tamil Nadu , who is too weak to stand & for close to 40 days was In the hospital in Candolim Health centre .
Raju met with an accident and was in Gmc, from there referred to Candolim for recovery being homeless without family.
Dr Roshan , Incharge of Candolim Health Centre , requested us by May end to rehabilitate him.
But he was really too weak.
Kind enough of Dr Roshan to contact us to help Raju get a shelter home, else once discharged, he would end up on the streets on in some bus stop or on the road.
We picked Raju on 27.6.21 and admitted him into home .
He is now accommodated at Assnora , in our Covid isolation hut ( which costed us
rs 5 lacs ) so as to avoid any risk to the other men.
Raju has a wound on his right leg / ankle and its a chronic wound.
Not sure what else he is suffering from but with a few months he will walk with a stick.
Attached a 1 min video. 👇
Alcoholic by nature and his 1 eye is dead.
Infact a few year back , he was staying with us for this same wound, got better and left to go the world.
Now we have to restart the process from square one.
But being a shelter home for the homeless, we can't refuse him shelter.
He will not survive the monsoon without a place to stay.
It's the monsoon season and there are many out on the streets of Goa looking to get off the streets.
We require your support and help to reach out to them .

PICKS THIS MIDDLE AGED, HEAVILY WOUNDED, HOMELESS MAN

27.6.2021 5pm IST
All our posts go through the broadcast
Pls share and forward our posts to your relatives and friends so that we can get help and we can help many out there in Goa.

STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST, GOA , picks this middle aged, heavily wounded, homeless man who can barely walk, just outside the CHICALIM HEALTH CENTRE.
Attached a 3 min video 👇
Russell as he says his name, has maggots and worms on both his legs.
He was coming daily to the health center for dressing and then sleeping outside in the rain.
I understand he is having a serious health issue, both physical and in the mind.
Dr Anil , the Incharge of the Health center requests me to see the best we could do for him .
Very kind of Dr Anil to go out of his way to get in touch with us to help this homeless man .
We agree to rehabilitate Russell as that is the most important requirement to treat and look after Russell.
Our team drives to Chicalim on 26.6.21 and picks up Russell.
He is now accommodated at Assnora , in our Covid isolation hut ( which costed us
rs 5 lacs ) so as to avoid any risk to the other men.
From my little experience of last 4 years , Russell should be perfect in physical health in about 3 months from now.
Its going to cost atleast Rs 50000 for hospital trips, medication, dressing and bandages , endless trips to hospitals for dressings and follow up , may be even a few xrays and blood tests, but we are committed to get Russell back to good health physically .
Kindly help us to raise this amount to treat Russell.
For his mind he will be taken to IPHB Bambolim.
The number of homeless are increasing in Goa due to the lockdown, job loss, shut down In various business, pandemic and we are trying our level best to rehabilitate as many as possible.
We are looking out for a big big place where we can look after about 100 to 200 men at one time .
We have the perfect and competent :
☆ Trustee's
☆ Staff
☆ Back office team
☆ Care givers
☆ Volunteers
☆ Cooks
☆ Sanitary staff
Only thing missing is that big big place.
At any point of time we have about 90 to 100 homeless street men & women in all our homes.
We can comfortably look after a few hundred more homeless if we get that place in Goa.
It's the monsoon season and there are many out on the streets of Goa looking to get off the streets.
We require your support and help to reach out to them .

HELPS THIS HOMELESS STREET MAN TO GET BACK TO HIS FEET AGAIN AFTER BEING ON THE STREETS OF PANJIM

25.6.2021 7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST, GOA, helps this homeless street man to get back to his feet again after being on the streets of Panjim in one place from early Oct 20 to mid Feb 21 just outside KTC bus stand Panjim Goa .
Raju Yadav was literally rotting in filth , dirt , mess and foot with maggots infected and tied up with a plastic bag.
The below link will tell you all 👇
Many many people requested me during Oct 20 to Feb 21 to pick him but he just refused , but we would feed him daily meals through our volunteer in panjim .
One day our Volunteer Dr spoke to him and convinced him to get off the streets on 26.2.2021.
He was very very weak and highly intoxicated with tobacco and chewing beetlenut.
Detoxification took 1 week .
He had a dislocated hip bone which our volunteer Dr , fixed it back and he just could not walk for a pretty long time.
Would use a walker.
Slowly with nutrition, human touch, medication, exercise, etc he threw away the crutches and now walks perfectly fine.
Thanks to all our care givers, ( who once a upon a time they too were in this state ) and our volunteer Doctor, we are able to handle such complicated and difficult assignments with ease and peace of mind.
Attached a 3 min video of him then and
 now. 👇
The limp is still there.
But over all he does all his personal chores like bathing, eating, going to the wash room , even some small work In the home.
If not picked that day of 26.2.21 , you can conclude where he would have been during this entire 2nd wave.
We have been picking homeless people right through both the waves and will keep picking homeless street people as all human life is important.
Circumstances make one reach the streets and each street person is looking to get help to get off the streets.
Sadly in Goa , there are not many shelter homes for such poor souls.
We require more shelter homes to open up for homeless people
We @ Street Providence feel happy that we were able to bring a smile on this young man face by reaching out to him during his suffering.
You too can bring a smile to people on the streets of Goa by linking such people to us through Goa Police.
We don't pick or touch anyone homeless people directly without the Police .
It's the monsoon season and there are many out on the streets of Goa looking to get off the streets.
We require your support and help to reach out to them .
Support us in whatever way you can.
Donate generously to our NGO.
We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.
Donations only through cheque /NEFT along with your pan card copy .
