STREET PROVIDENCE WAS DELIGHTED WHEN WE GOT THE NEWS THAT OUR NGO WAS SELECTED BY THE Hon’ble HIGH COURT OF BOMBAY & GOA AT PORVORIM

28.1.2022  7pm IST
This is Grace from God , inspired and implemented by two ladies Justices and one lady Advocate.
☆ What is Grace ?
♡♡ It's a free Gift from God which can't be earned.
Grace is God's willingness to use his  power,  God's authority,  God's ability on my behalf , even though I don't deserve it .
Street Providence was delighted when we got the news that our NGO was selected by the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay & Goa at Porvorim to receive an amount of Rs 5 Lakhs which was fine paid by an erring party for carrying on illegal activities and construction in violation of the CRZ rules.
Attached the newspaper cutting of 11.1.2022.
The Petition was filed by Roshan Mathias a well- know social activist from Candolim., who  is now contesting the Assembly Elections from Calangute Constituency.
Roshan Mathias is well known across Goa for his activism concerning the betterment of Goa & its environment.
I hope and pray that he finally reaches the Goa Assembly this coming Assembly elections.
The advocate for Petitioner Adv. Norma Alvares suggested 4 organizations to the High Court.
The High Court who assessed the work done by the recommended NGOs , finally choose two Ngos
1.  Anyay Rahit Zindagi (ARZ) and
2.  Street Providence
vide its Judgement dated 10th January 2022.
Thanks to  Justice Manisha Pitale & Justice Sadhana Jadhav for the support.
Street Providence has always believed that if our commitment is high, our work honest and sincere and our vision to end homelessness and hunger in Goa is clear,  miracles will pop up along the way to make this dream happen.
We thank  Adv. Norma Alvares and the Hon’ble High Court Justices for validating our work which only gives us an impetus to work harder.
With this amount given by the Honourable High Court this is how we intend to use the same :
1. Our second women home with a capacity of 20 homeless street women with disabilites will be allocated Rs 3 lacs as this is the need of the hour as its not Government funded .
2. We intend to purchase rs 1 lac worth
disability aids / mobility aids & equipments to give out to poor people to use and return incase they require such help
3. We intend to expand our Knowledge bank ( library ) by installing more cupboards across Goa by allocating Rs 1 lac towards this cause .
Once again it feels proud and encouraging , that inspite of being just 4 years old , we have managed to capture the attention of the JUDICARY towards ending hunger and Homelessness,  especially towards homeless stteet women with disabilities.
God bless you all.

MR. ABDUL, A YOUNG MAN

21.1.2022. 7pm IST
Right to Live and live lively is our right.
But what happens when you are down and out and everyone justs ignores you , due to poverty,  sickness, misfortune, etc.
Mr Abdul , a young man , but got his motives wrong and ended up in a public hospital, diagnosed with severe liver issues due to alcohol .
May be Uneducated, uncivilized, lost and lonely.
14th Nov 2021, picked from Chicalim Health Centre in a very weak and sad state .
Attached his 3 min video of the last 2 months . 👇
Was on a pamper , could not even stand forget walk, in a dazed state , violent and
un co cooperative.
But the team and care givers in our home did their best with nutritious food and friendly environment and constant encouragement that today he is fine and normal .
Today is about 2 months.
Abdul , is back to being a normal human being .
Learnt to control his bowels movements , so no pamper ,
Eats, sleeps , bathes , all by himself ,
Washes the plates of 30+ inmates,
Even sweeps and mops the floor .
The best part is ” Abdul now cleans up other
bed ridden and incapicated men on Pampers without being told “.
That shows his mind is active , he understands that he was like that Before , he knows the feeling of being helped and cared for.
Most of his teeth are lost to tobacco so it makes him eat slowly and when he talks his words are little difficult to grasp .
A man left unwanted due to many reasons.
But all such cases are taken in by our NGO without any discrimination provided we can handle their medical issues.
It's certainly satisfying to see such men beating all odds and attempting to Try to get back their lives In their own possible ways .
Its not been easy handing Abdul but it's only due to the patience of the team and care givers , timely medication and hospital follow up, counseling and constant motivation and nutrition that we have managed to get Altaf back on track .
Dr Anil , boss of Chicalim Health Centre,  has been constantly directing and recommending such homeless street men to our shelter.
Good Dr , understands that such men have a chance to start their life again in our NGO.
If you know such men in Goa , stuck up and abandoned in any Government hospitals, then let us know through whatsap only .
We might be able to help provided our team agrees and understands the medical treatment.
You support to us through your donations both in kind and cheque is what makes us go back to the streets, hospitals, police stations searching for the lost .
Please support our NGO generously.
You get 50% rebate under section 80G of the
INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.
We accept only CHEQUES / NEFT with your pan card copy .

REQUESTING THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT OF INDIA, TO UNDERSTAND AND SUPPORT THE DYNAMICS OF channelising THIS EXCESS COOKED FOOD THROUGH FOOD BANKS

20.1.2022  5pm IST
Food wastage is a big crime against the hungry in India and one of the best ways to address this wastage is to encourage and support organized Food banks ( especially in cooked food segment) .
Please do check out this  short video made by us- 👇 https://youtu.be/4IErEywo7EI
Requesting the Central Government of India, to understand and support the dynamics of channelising this excess cooked food through FOOD BANKS to be served to the poor
☆ Rewind May 2017.
Goa's 1st Food Bank Fridge  started in Sangolda Goa ( and it still operates at the same spot ) is open 24*7.
What started initially as a one off idea , slowly ended up covering the  entire state of Goa with close to 38 such Fridges being installed.
Social media platforms like :
▪︎ Whatsapp
▪︎ Facebook
▪︎Instagram etc
was used to create an awareness of the presence of the FOOD BANK that was accepting edible cooked food that would then be distributed to the poor.
The response was and is very  encouraging and many more Food Freezers were installed in Goa.
Hence we intend to always use these social media platforms to spread our message.
From May 2017 till Feb 2020, Food Bank for the Poor, Sangolda , through our many many volunteers accepted and delivered cooked food to hundreds if not thousands of needy people daily .
And then  Covid 19 struck !
SOCIAL MEDIA  connected us to these  Company canteens 5 years ago.
♡ 1.Deccan Fine Chemicals Pvt Ltd,  Corlim
♡ 2. Colgate Palmolive India Pvt Ltd, Kundaim
♡ 3. Cremeaux Bakeries Pvt Ltd,  Corlim
Thanks to social media, they  were aware of our Food Bank Project, and started giving us their excess fresh food daily .
☆ May 2022, will be 5 years for this generous act
For a moment  please visualize the amount of food that is picked up in the last 5 years and served to the needy.
Thousands and thousands of Kgs of food in the last 5 years.
I am sure the  Owners/Management of these company canteens and the Bakery will be delighted   that tons of food given by them to our Food Bank over the last 5 years, helped feed and nourish the poor instead of being thrown in the dustbin.
☆ I an also grateful to :
♡ 1. Navtara group of Restaurants
♡ 2. Dr Britto from Fortune Hotel Candolim
♡ 3. Caterers Association of Goa
♡ 4. Hotel Radison & Hotel Dona Sylvia and

so many other generous eateries and canteens who have given food to the hungry  from July 2017 till Feb 2020 ( pre Pandemic 1st wave) daily .
♡♡ Thanks to all these generous persons, Food Bank for the Poor, Sangolda, through its volunteers  fed thousands of kgs of fresh, edible food to the poor and hungry across Goa.
But that all changed when  Covid -19  struck in March 2020.
Caterers, hotels, Restaurants etc were forced to pull down their shutters and  all the extra food stopped. This situation continues till date
Here I would like to mention that initially for 2 years, our Shelter Homes  depended on this Food Bank Program to feed all residents
Few positive aspect of Our Food Bank program :
¤ 1.Till date no FOOD related issue ever surfaced either publicly or on social media.
¤ 2. Volunteers both young and old got an opportunity to feed the poor on a common platform in an organized manner .
¤ 3. Food from weddings and parties were generously donated to our fridges.
¤ 4  Rules and regulations to start a food bank were formulated much after we started the program.
I remember approaching the authorities for a Food Bank License in July 2017 and they promised to  get back which they did much much later.
With inflation at all time high, prices of even essential items skyrocketing and poverty levels growing by leaps and bounds, the poor are desperately looking for food for themselves and their families.
The silver lining to this gloomy reality is that there is enough of excess food to  donate to food banks and feed all the hungry people if the powers that be support and help to make this dream a reality.
The fright of food poisoning once sorted out by the Government will open up this free service across India to thousands if not lakhs of poor people who might just get one nutritious meal because of FOOD BANKS .
The Central Government could offer incentives to those donating food to food banks as a motivating factor to get them  involved and active .
FMCG distributors and Sales Representatives could  be encouraged  not to destroy packaged food expiring within a few days before expiry , but instead to hand over  food items to Food banks to feed the poor .
STREET PROVIDENCE is here in Goa
with  close to 5 years of experience,
ready infrastructure,  volunteers,  and database of hundreds of poor people in need of food.
We need the support of The Central Government of India to enable and strengthen all Food Banks through its various schemes .
Before I end,  I wish to express my  deepest gratitude ,sincere and heartfelt thanks to each and every volunteer who assisted me in my dream of starting Goa's 1st Food bank Program —'– ” GOD BLESS YOU & YOUR FAMILY “.
Food Bank for The Poor , would not be a success  without your assistance and cooperation.
Some day , hoping to work with all our old volunteers like before as we restart each and every Food Freezer and provide fresh food to every hungry person in Goa.

FR ARLINO de MELLO, REACHED OUT AND ATTENDED TO HIS PARISHIONER. MR. AGNEL FERNANDES IS A RESIDENT OF ST. FRANCIS VADDO, COLVALE

17.1.2022  7pm IST
Just like a Shepherd tends to his flock , in the real life The Shepherd ( Parish Priest ) of CHURCH OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI, Colvale ,
Fr Arlino de Mello , reached out and attended to his parishioner.
Please do check out this short  video made by us  -👇 https://youtu.be/61HgQNYhwVk
Mr Agnel Fernandes is a resident of St Francis Vaddo , Colvale is totally weak and
under nourished.
No family members , Alcohol and poverty coupled with the lockdown and many other issues may have put him in a corner where his plight was unbearable to his neighbor , Mr Jose Pereira .
Mr Jose Pereira has been providing all possible help to his neighbor Mr Agnel over a period of time and he understands that Agnel requires a home on a long-term basis to stabilize.
This is where Fr Arlino , as the Shepherd , steps in after Mr Jose Pereira brings it to Father's notice .
Fr Arlino visits Agnel on the same day of being informed and is moved by his plight .
Fr Arlino has recently been transfered to Colvale Parish in July 2021 from Aldona Parish .
My acquaintance with Fr Arlino goes back two years , when Late  Francis Lobo , who we had picked up from Mumbai had expired and since he was from Aldona , Fr Arlino gave us good support with his funeral and burial in Aldona Cemetry without any hassle.
Fr Arlino called me 4 days back and explained me how Mr Agnel requires help ASAP.
Our team went the next day to investigate and we agreed to take him in .
Fr Arlino got Mr Jose Peteira & his son to organize the paperwork.
Thanks to Colvale Inspector Mr Somnath for getting his team to  verify that Agnel needs rehabilitation.
Today we admitted Mr Agnel into our shelter home.
I appreciate the  effort taken by Fr Arlino to make that initial call .
Fr could have Said to himself  ”  Why get involved ?, I am just come , let the neighbour do the needful “.
One phone call was all that made the difference .
If any one knows more about Mr Agnel and his family incase he has one do let me know thru whatsapp only.
We are there in Goa , for the old , infirmed, lonely, abandoned, homeless street people , any one who requires a hand to start afresh irrespective of Caste, creed or religion .
If you know such goan men ( on priority basis) living a sorry life , alone and abandoned,  then you too can play your part .
Get in touch with me through whatsapp on 8380097564 and follow instructions.
We will do the rest.
Help will be provided for sure provided you do your part.
We have our biggest home ready and it can accommodate another 75 such men who actually have no place to go and no one might want to take them in .
We require your support and help to reach out to them who are HELPLESS & homeless.
Support us in whatever way you can through our NGO.
We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.
Donations only through cheque /NEFT along with your pan card copy .

ARE BACK AFTER A SHORT BREAK , PICKING AND ACCEPTING HOMELESS STREET PEOPLE

13.1.2022  8pm IST
With the 3rd wave looming around , the homeless and marginalized will be hit the most .
Add to the 3rd Wave , most of the Police Stations across the big cities in Goa have new Inspectors , who might not have the time and interest in getting the homeless of the streets as they need time to settle down with elections around the corner.
But we at Street Providence are back after a short break , picking and accepting homeless street people from government hospitals.
Today we accepted two very feeble and malnourished men .
☆ Case 1
Sadhashiv was picked from Chicalim Health centre.
Very weak and malnourished , with no control over his movements , so wears a pamper .
Dr Anil , Incharge of CHC was kind enough to inform us that Sadhashiv requires a home to recover his strength.
Douglas and his team drove to Chicalim and picked this man and admitted him into our home this evening .
☆ Case 2
A homeless man Mr Shyam, was admitted a few days back into the District Hospital Mapusa by the local police.
Old , weak , feeble , does not speak clearly so can't understand much .
Dr Rylind informs the ward Bro/ nurse Mr Rajan to inform us which he did.
Took us a few days to get him into our home due to some paper work.
This evening Sudarshan picked him and admitted him into our home .
Looks weak and malnourished with some walking issues .
This is how we have started this NEW YEAR .
This is our Hospital service , where we just don't visit the hospitalized but see that we can get them a home to stay & make them stand back on their feet and we care & look after such abandoned poor people , Free of cost .
We have no full time nurses , doctors, or high funda homes or fancy infrastructure but we have some highly dedicated & committed manpower and care givers who themselves were one day in such a state.
Daily we drive the sick and those in need of medication to the government hospitals and that is one separate team doing only this work .
Fuel Costs a bomb daily .
INTEGRATION is the key to REHABILITATION of the homeless people in today's time where,  manpower costs a bomb and only those who can afford, can get a bed in a home .
We have increased our capacity in the men's section and we can take in another 80 such homeless men.
This New Year, our focus will be on hospitals where there just might be a lost soul waiting for a hand to cling on to start life .
It's cold and freezing out there on the streets of Goa and the 3rd wave is raging .
I feel upset but yet we all have to take care .
If you see anyone on the streets of Goa , please stop by and help.
Go to the nearest police station and complain and see that the homeless is helped.
We will surely accept provided routed through the police.
Our priorty is our local Goans but we take in anyone irrespective of his native state .
No one should be sleeping on a road, Street or public area if he is homeless and with unsound mind .
If our assistance is required,  pls whatsapp me on 8380097564.
If we can help we will let you know on the spot , yes or no .
Some cases are beyond our capacity.
But we can try .
We require your support and help to reach out to them who are HELPLESS & homeless.
Support us in whatever way you can through our NGO.
We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.
Donations only through cheque /NEFT along with your pan card copy .

STREET PROVIDENCE GOA LAUNCHES OUR 1st KNOWLEDGE BANK ( LIBRARY , WHERE ONE DROP AND PICK BOOKS )

12.1.2022. 7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA launches our 1st KNOWLEDGE BANK ( library , Where one drop and pick books ) at Chogm Road , Sangolda, Goa.
Today we installed and inaugurated one of its kind in Goa , on a trial basis , a cupboard where one can drop books , novels etc or one can pick something to read from this cupboard.
BORROW , READ , RETURN
♡♡ Thanks to BOOKWORM library,  from Panjim who have supported this unique idea of trying to create a reading habit in Goa .
♡♡ Mr Oscar Braganza , Founder Trustee of BookWorm , was kind enough to cut the ribbon today and share his views on how this project at grass root level can reignite the passion for reading especially for children.
Also present was Mr Frederick Noronha ( RICO ) from Saligao who himself being a writer and a book lover, is a good friend of mine for over 3 decades.
Attached a 3 min video of their views and how they feel this project can be taken forward. 👇

We @  Street Providence are looking to install many such cupboards across Goa to encourage the reading habit .
We will provide the Cupboard and the books .
We are not paying any rent or any other charges.
This Cupboard is open 9 am to 6 pm daily .
Please don't donate more than 3 books per time as the Cupboard is small and we are very new to such a project .
Understand that we might have alot of books at our homes but this is not that last stop to get rid of all books at one time .
If you can come with your books with an appointment it will be really wonderful by whatsapp me on 8380097564.
♡♡ Thanks to the Village Panchayat Sangolda and my ward member for supporting this Cupboard as its for a social cause .
This project is primarily started to encourage all our 100 + homeless street people in our shelter homes who 80% are suffering from disabilities to read something or atleast turn the pages and refresh the mind .
I Being a Marketing student from X.I.M Mumbai in my younger days,  has started and will start many projects based on
BACKWARD & FORWARD INTEGRATION.
( those who studied marketing will know what INTEGRATION Is about ).
All our BANKS revolve around and support
OUR REHABILITATION HOMES and that's how we are able to cut costs and go beyond our capacity by providing :
▪︎Free food ( food bank )
▪︎Clothes ( clothes bank )
▪︎Medicines ( medicine bank )
▪︎Library ( knowledge bank )
▪︎Etc .
As we start this New Year , we will introducing about 14 more new projects at grass root level, trying to help the poor , needy,  homeless , disabled , abandoned , etc .

i6s ATTEMPTING TO CREATE A READING HABIT BOTH FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS .

10.1.2022  7pm IST
A cupboard on the Chogm Road , Sangolda , Goa, where you can pick a book for your children as well as yourself
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA , is attempting to create a reading habit both for children and adults .
With the current situations prevailing over two years now , most of us, both kids and adults might be only on the phone.
To bring about a small change , our NGO will be  installing a small cupboard on a trial basis on coming Wednesday,  which will hold daily Newspapers , few magazines and books to read .
We have associated and asked help from Goa's leading book library from Panjim whose Trustee will get inaugurating this Cupboard on Wednesday at 4pm and they have willingly obliged.
Let's wait till Wednesday to know the name of the library .
This cupboard is situated on my compound wall at Sangolda between the food bank fridge and the water taps.
The Cupboard will be open from 9 am to 6 pm.
The water taps are open from 9 am to 6 pm
The fridge is open 24 hours for any one to drop their extra food .
With over 100 homeless people currently in our homes and the new home almost ready at Quepem,  our strength will be closed to 200 people,  these newspapers , books and magazines may just be the source of learning and pass time to our people in our homes .
Most of the times our people in our homes are either sitting and talking or just eating and sleeping.
Mind you , 80% of our people in our homes are suffering from Disabilities.
I understand through my little experience that light reading material will play a part in their ability to start thinking again once they see pictures and turn pages .
It's a trial basis for me to bring a change in those who are totally lost from this world due to their disabilites.
We will also be trying to use this idea to convince others to install such cupboards in other parts of Goa and support will be given to either get books in the cupboard and for rotation of books.
I am sowing a small seed through this 1st cupboard and rest I leave to The Almighty .
We will be updating our inauguration part on Wednesday and a small message from two well- respected people who are doing alot for a long time in Goa, to inculcate the habit of reading .
Our NGO primary focus is rehabilitation of the homeless street people both men & ladies.
Which we are doing last 4 years.
Support us in whatever way you can.
Come partner and support our NGO.
We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.
Donations only through cheque /NEFT along with your pan card copy .

STREET PROVIDENCE GOA, RUNS 2 FREE SHELTER HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS STREET WOMEN

5.1.2022  7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA,  runs 2  free shelter homes for the homeless street women and women suffering from mental and  physical disabilities.
☆☆ The first Shelter Home  in mid 2018 , supported by FMCK nuns who have collaborated with us
This Shelter Home located in Calangute is funded by the State Government and a total of  10 women  are cared for here which can be extended on emergency basis to 15 max but only for a few days .
FMCK nuns have been doing a wonderful job in providing care and rehabilitation to these street women through their care givers .
The second Shelter Home is a matter of grave concern.
Street Providence has yet to get some financial support from the State or Central Government despite applying and submitting all relevant documents which to the best of our knowledge are approved and that is the big disappointment .
With elections round the corner, the respective Department seem to have no time to be concerned about the welfare of 18 such homeless women in this Shelter Home.
Very very disappointed that Women in responsible positions, who have the  power to help the Homeless  are  washing their hands off this Shelter Home with empty excuses & promises.
Attached is a list of Homeless, needy women cared for in both our Women's Shelter Homes.
Presently we care for :-
▪︎1  Abandoned Hiv positive woman ,
▪︎1  Unwed mother with mental disabilities ,
▪︎2  divorced women with mental disabilites.
▪︎11 Abandoned senior citizens with mental disabilities
▪︎1 Abandoned polio ridden woman
▪︎5 homeless women
▪︎2 severely mentally challenged women
▪︎1 Abandoned bedridden  women ( pampers).
▪︎3 abandoned senior citizens
▪︎1 suicidal and homeless women.
Total 28 ladies
Of these woman :
▪︎20 are goan
▪︎6 are from karnataka
▪︎1 is from Assam
▪︎1 is from West Bengal
The second home was started in April 2021.
See the mix range of women including the age group and other disabilities and understand how complicated and difficult for us to look after such complicated cases .
Caring for homeless women is more difficult as compared to men and I being a man at times, find it very very difficult to deal with the pathetic cases of women asking for help.
The alarming situation is the increase in the number of   ” PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES ( PWD) who are  HOMELESSNESS / ABANDONED ” and no one is doing much about this .
General homes which look after the old and  aged are full and there is a big scarcity of caregivers and labour to run these Homes.
As a result a few have shut down and many can / might  be shutting down in the coming few years.
And none of these homes are free as they are not Government funded so obviously they have to charge fees to sustain the operation.
NGOs like us  are trying to fill this gap by providing free services to homeless women  & men who otherwise would be on the roads and streets.
Even big hospitals and institutes have many many abandoned people residing there for many months and few years .
The Government needs to be more supportive with timely grants.
On one hand  officials say ” Homes/ Ngos  are not applying for grants “.
But on the other hand ” Grants are not released quickly and it is not possible in Covid to repeatedly visit covid officials for the release of Grants as it is a never ending saga of promises and excuses”.
Also at times,  officials wait……. MAY BE for a BOX OF SWEETS, and  only then  will they  move.
My own bitter experience :
Two years  2018 – 2019 , 2019 – 2020 , a particular Central Government scheme for homeless women was advertised costing more than Rs 2 lacs in advt cost .
In December 2020  we were invited to apply for this scheme for two homes :
1 in North Goa and  1 in  South Goa .
We complied in toto only for north .
South till date no one has applied.
It's now 2022 and in 2 days  the Code of Conduct will be enforced and will go on for  another 4  months.
It like 17 months and yet no one knows when it will be sanctioned.
So this budget has been unutilised for 3 accounting years ……..and I wonder if this is okay with the officials!!!!!
The 3rd wave has begun and where do we expect homeless street women to go ?
We are in the process of starting another home in South Goa to take in another 20 ladies provided there is Government support.
But without Government grants it's very very difficult and that is a big big disappointment.
Our main shortfall is ” we are not politically connected and as a result the wait  is killing “.
Prayers and Blessings are my only solution .
I pray that the 4 lady officials who are in a position to process Grant's to the Women's Shelter Home could have done much more for these 18 homeless ladies.
Do they feel  the pain and troubles of these homeless women as they go back to their comfortable homes?
Do we know who will be abandoned by their own families and be homeless? Because only then one will understand such issues and real pain .
I have experienced being near homeless,  near hungry , unemployed,  sick,  penniless,  desperate so its easy for me to relate to such matters and freely write without fear of anyone.
Some reading my posts may feel it's a bit harsh , rash or I am straight forward , but feel free to accompany  me and my team to the streets, come and sit our homes , visit institutes and hospitals and bring along  a couple of handkerchiefs and a small bucket too, as I guarantee you there will not be a dry eye after listening to and seeing the conditions of Street people.
And then judge me for the post.
In conclusion, I must mention that last New Year we started on a sad note when we were forced to moveout of our South Goa home and this New Year –  Grants that were due to be released before the Code of Conduct for 18 homeless ladies is being with held despite all conditions being adhered too.
Rest I leave you to understand what I should do or what would you do if you were in my shoes .
Our NGO primary focus is rehabilitation of the homeless street people both men & ladies.
Which we are doing last 4 years.
To eradicate Homelessness in Goa is my priorty .
Support us in whatever way you can.
We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.
Donations only through cheque /NEFT along with your pan card copy .

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE SUPPORTED ME IN MY DREAM

30.12.2021  4 pm IST
A Very Happy New Year 2022  to one and all .
As we come to the end of  this year 2021 , I would like to thank alot of people who have supported me in my dream of rehabilitating homeless street people in Goa .
One in a few millions have such a complicated,  yet possible and highly achievable dream .
Infact right from Feb 2020 till Dec 2021 , its been a VERY tough time for alot of NGO – both Society & Trusts, especially raising resources and holding on to manpower.
Look at this poster attached with this post .
It's this team , which practically has been working non stop last 2 years under all circumstances including both the waves of covid
♡♡ Centre : Sapnesh Salgaonkar ,Operation Manager
( the man who operates the entire operation)
♡♡ Left : Joanita Pinto , Trustee
( takes care of our entire back operation )
♡♡ Left : Orlando Mesquita , Volunteer & benefactor
( takes care of our Cavelossim home & all our maintainance works in South Goa )
♡♡ Left : Akash Pednekar , Unit Incharge
( takes care of our Quepem home)
♡♡ Right : Adv Caroline Collasso , Trustee
( takes care of our Legal work & Trouble shooter cum mentor )
♡♡ Right : Sudarshan Chari , Unit Incharge
( takes care of our Porvorim home )
♡♡ Right : Douglas Pinto , Unit Incharge
( takes care of our Assnora home )
Everything and anything in our Ngo goes through this team , co ordinated by Sapnesh Salgaokar.
☆☆ Well my job, is taking care of our :
Accounts office & Administrative office , which are in Porvorim & Sangolda run by two dedicated staff , Mrs Tanaya & Miss Tanvi .
♡♡ Our ladies home at Calangute is run by Sr Lilian , FMCK & our other ladies at Guirim is supported by Mrs Josephine from Amazing Grace.
But here at Street Providence , between Feb 2020 till date ie Dec 2021 , something superficial , wonderful and blessed things happened.
God in his kindness and Grace , provided us resources, manpower , volunteers,  you name it   God provided and that how we are doing the best we are called to do .
Everything God provided which was beyond our expectations and God took care of all our needs,  full measure , pressed down,  shaken togther , running over.
If there is or was any lack in this year 2021 , it's
” we could and should have taken off more homeless people but space was the constraint “.
We ran some incredible programs ,
☆ Opened new homes ,
☆ Fed hundreds of people daily ,
☆ Distristrubed close to Rs 50 lacs dry ration ,
☆ Took off the streets hundreds of homeless,
☆ Etc .
And this is due to TEAM WORK & not a one man show .
We all heard this term ” OPPOSITE ATTRACTS “.
Well it's absolutely true term .
All the team members in the poster and in the offices are cool , calm & relaxed.
And most know me , always in a hurry .
But it's all about TEAM WORK & HARD CORE COMMITMENT.
Once again I Thank this core team who have stood by me .
Like this team , there are another 8 such teams consisting of 3 to 4 members each who take instructions from this core team.
Inspite of the new variant looming around in the start of  2022 , i am rest assured God's favour , protection , hand will always be on our NGO as we believe we are CALLED & CHOSEN to reach out to the homeless and hungry across Goa through various new projects planned for the year 2022.

OUR NGO lit UP A POOR GOAN LADY HOME, BY PROVIDING HER A NEW ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

24.12.2021  6pm IST
☆☆☆ It's CHRISTMAS eve and I take this opportunity to wish you all A Very Merry Christmas filled with Love, Joy & Peace ☆☆☆
Most of us who celebrate Christmas,  decorate our homes with decorations , lights , etc.
In this post , our NGO lit up a poor Goan lady home , by providing her a new electrical connection on 22.12.2021 .
Attached a 3  min video 👇
Part Konkanni & part English
♡♡ Mrs Akshata Pagi,  is based in Poingonnim,  Canacona and is really struggling to survive .
A Dialysis patient with two children and a husband who is not fully fit to work .
Woman works in Palolem doing some manual work and stays in Poinguinim which is approx
15 kms one way and she travels by bus .
Struggling with many issues in life she built her own house 2 years back but her health failed her.
Our Volunteer, Mrs Sharon from Chaudi , who runs a small garment shop,  has been distributing dry ration and other items to approx 30 such families across various villages in the Taluka of Canacona for over 1 year now .
Akshata got in touch with Sharon last year in the month of December 2020 and we started helping her .
She can only charge her phone when she goes to work, so communicating with her is like dialing the Astronauts in Space or the mountain climbers on Mount Everest .
Infact her daughter has missed her 9th std clases last year , and left school,  as it was online only and there was no electricity to charge the phone and also no IPhone as Mrs Akshata has a simple phone.
And no one knows when Akshata goes to work and when she is not well as there is no phone and no electricity to charge the phone at home .
For many months I am told she was so sick that she has been in and out of hospital due to complications in her body .
♡♡ But all Thanks and a big Pat to Sharon who from October 2021 , has been consistently chasing this lady :
▪︎To get her documents filled up ,
▪︎Get the health noc ,
▪︎Make the file ,
▪︎Get the test report,
▪︎Get the electrican to do the wiring,
▪︎Submitt the file,
▪︎Follow up with the JE & AE
▪︎Pay the fees ,
▪︎etc
Our NGO paid for all this right from scratch till the electricity was installed on 22.12.2021.
We covered the :
▪︎Paper work cost
▪︎Wiring cost
▪︎Electrican charges cost
▪︎Gadgets and equipments
▪︎Earthing pit
▪︎Etc .
But it's was Sharon & her husband who spent alot of time , energy , sweat,  going from here to there , etc just to get the job complete .
On top of that I was putting pressure on Sharon to see that the connection was released well before Christmas.
For Sharon & myself,  this is Christmas.
We went out of our way , not on our ABILITY but on our AVAILABILITY for Mrs Akshata, to see that her house has electricity after 2 years of being built .
I went there only once last year .
No hype , no much publicity, no fancy video but only our commitment to STEP OUT OF OUR COMFORT ZONE TO MAKE OTHERS LIFE COMFORTABLE.
♡♡ Special thanks to :
☆ Health Inspector of Canacona health centre ,
☆ Mr Pranay Naik ,
☆ Mr Anup Rane, AE , Electricity Dept
☆ Mr D. Chari , JE , Electricity Dept
For moving the paper work without any hassle and trouble, as usually we feel that everyone is just asking for a bribe to clear paperwork.
These 3 officers were really kind , considerate and very helpful inspite of being occupied with so many other works as Election fever is on and Christmas is around the corner .
If you wish to help this lady with house hold equipment , basic furniture or any other way please let me know.
It's best to take a trip to her home, to see the lovely country side of Canacona as well understand how blessed we are in our confortable homes while many such goan people may be struggling, for no fault of theirs.
If you know any such poor goan families struggling for such basic amenities especially electricity please let me know .
We will study matter and surely help provided all documents are in proper order and there are no land disputes.
