OUR NGO TOOK OFF FROM PANJIM CITY WITHIN 1 HOUR, THREE HOMELESS YOUNG MEN WHO WERE ALL TOTALLY LOST AND LONELY

4.8 2022. 7 pm IST
Early in this week , our Ngo Street Providence took off from Panjim city with 1 hour,  three homeless young men who were all totally lost and lonely
☆ The 1st man in white shirt is Venkatesh .
Says he is from Andra Pradesh and his parents are dead and his family members are all dead .
He has been literally living and begging at the main panjin bus stop for over two months.
Some shop keepers and passer by would give him some food.
Very weak and malnourished but not alcoholic.
☆ 2nd man on the wheel chair is Deepak Harijan
Too weak to stand and too weak to walk .
Brought to my attention by Saish Gandhi who spotted him living on the footpath of panjim
Looks to have been drinking alcohol to fight off the pain in his leg.
☆ 3rd man is Sahil who last just month we had picked from Dempo building, Panjim Market through Saish Gandhi and few days back slipped out of our home saying he is going to his native place.
Sahil was so weak that we had to use the stretcher to bring him to our shelter home .
But once he gained little strength , the urge for alcohol took him not to his native place but back to the streets where he was begging.
1st of all he is all bones due to alcohol and yet he wants to live in the same mess .
It's just getting bad to worse regarding the homeless and Beggars on the streets.
We are beginning to get stretched as inflation is hitting us badly .
We can't help everyone but at the same time these are young men just lost due to poverty or alcohol or substance abuse .
If we give any excuses saying we can't rehab , people take it as an offense and condemn saying your NGO is making all excuses .
Today we are at 130 homeless men & women in all our shelter homes.
We need your help and your support.
Please support our NGO.
You get 50% deduction / rebate under section 80G of the INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.
” Terms and conditions for availing this 50% varies on your Gross Total Income while filing your returns ”
We accept only CHEQUES / NEFT with your pan card copy .

WE COMING FORWARD TO DONATE BLOOD AND BE A PART OF THIS INDEPENDENCE DAY IN A UNIQUE WAY

3.8.2022. 4 pm IST
On the occasion of India 75th Independence day, our homeless in all our shelter homes @ Street Providence Goa , are coming forward to donate blood and be a part of this Independence day in a unique way .
We have planned many drives in our 6 shelter homes between the 4th to 12th of August 22.
Our trustees and Staff will also be donating blood in this drive .
Something unique when one thinks and hears about homeless people donating blood.
This is a small gratitude from our homeless people to all our Benefactors, Government of Goa and all the different departments of the Government who has been supportive to our shelter home rehabilitation program.
For many months I was contemplating getting these homeless people to give back to Society.
I had emailed Director of DHS inquiring whether they could blood group all our homeless people but no reply .
I then decided to approach Mr Varun Albuquerque who responded quickly
We thank Varun Albuquerque from Victor Hospitals for responding to our request open heartedly and got the grouping done of all our homeless people.
Most of the times we look down,  condemn , ignore , curse , abuse , walk away,  deprive the poor and homeless street people as we consider them not contributing towards society.
But very soon the homeless In our shelter homes will be life savers from 1.11.22 by donating blood .
Once this blood drive gets over , for 3 months these homeless can't give blood .
But on completion of 3 months time period , from these blood drives & with an expected capacity of 200+ homeless in our NGO , our homeless people will be ready to save many many lives Subject to their health parameters.
Am excited to introduce this unique service of gratitude and thanks giving from our homeless shelter home people to our benefactors & various Government departments, who have supported our rehabilitation homes project for the homeless street people.
All human beings including HOMELESS are  having certain amount of value and self respect.
Just because some one is dirty, unclean, hungry, sleeping on the streets we should not ignore and condemn.
Give then time and encouragement and they will come back to bless you .
Once again HAPPY 75th Independence day .
God bless you

A GOAN HOMELESS ABANDONED WOMAN IN OUR SHELTER HOME TODAY SMILED AFTER 4 LONG YEARS

1.8.2022. 7 Pm IST
A smile says it all .
Rajini Shirodkar a goan  homeless abandoned woman In our shelter home  today smiled after 4 long years of what I know her and seen her .
Rajini was  brought to our shelter home by Anjuna police exactly 4 years back .
Quite moody & complicated.
Always aggressive due to her being abandoned by her family which I could always sense.
Has a family in Arpora – Nagoa area but no one is searching for her I can state and no one is Keen to take her back.
Today was the day for Physiotherapy session for women and this elderly abandoned lady Rajini was treated failing which her joints would be getting stiff .
Rajini had a fall in our ladies home a few weeks back and had a broken hip.
GMC was kind enough to admitt her , treat her and look after her inspite of being poor & homeless and without an attendant at her side.
I am visualizing the pain she must be going through after the fall.
Rajini today felt much better once her physio session was over.
Today our NGO is trying to put up a full fledged PHYSIOTHERAPY CENTRE @ Dr Gail and Mrs Ditosa Memorial Medical Clinic, Sangolda, Free of cost for the poor , bed bound , homeless people and those witn disabilities along with transportation of a full fledged fully loaded Ambulance donated by SBI.
But the Physiotherapist don't come free .
We pay them a charge per person per session a little less then the prevailing market rate .
And that's a huge bill per month to take care off .
Rajini is surely a mother to 2 of 3 children.
Would any of us reading this post like to see their own mother suffering from pain .
I come without emotions and feelings towards people in our  shelter homes but I will not deny any homeless person medical aid and facilities just like I would provide to myself and my family.
I pray and hope the SOCIAL WELFARE DEPARTMENT, Goa who is sitting with my application moves the file and gives me the grant which is a State Government scheme for NGOs like us who are looking after close to 60 such PWDs and old abandoned senior citizens.
And we have license/ Registration Certificate from the Social Welfare Department to look after PWDs and yet so much of time delay,  excuses and discrimination.
And we are celebrating 75 years of Independence.
Poor , homeless, bed bound and Pwds care nothing about any celebration but they want basic health care facilities in their old aged and the Social Welfare Department is giving me all excuses.
Infact on Wed 3.8.2022,  our NGO will be sitting outside the Social Welfare Department panjim for one hour with 5 wheel bound homeless PWDs highlighting the pathetic approach to our application for a grant for the state scheme to set up a Physiotherapy centre .
Remember when u sit on a Chair in a Government office you are there to serve the poor and needy.
Not to just take your Salary and make the others dance up and down.
Karma will catch you and your family.
If the CM of Goa is really having time to celebrate India's 75 years of Independence them please CM , clear our file and release our grant which is for the benefit of such poor homeless abandoned old citizens & Pwds.
Once again it's really happy to see a smile on the face of Rajini Shirodkar with just one session today of Physiotherapy.
Within this month end I cam assure you that RAJINI will be back to walking upright by herself.
You can help us to help such old abandoned homeless people.
God bless you

HELP OUR NGO TO RAISE FUNDS to TREAT THIS GOAN HOMELESS ABANDONED SENIOR CITIZEN MAN FROM LOSING HIS ENTIRE LEG .

31.7.2022  6pm IST
Help our NGO, Street Providence Goa , to raise funds to this treat this goan homeless abandoned senior citizen man from losing his entire leg .
Francis Alfonso is from panjim and he has a very complicated story which is very difficult to believe and understand.
His left foot has 4 toes amputated and the gangrene is threatening to move up if not treated properly and quickly.
Few weeks ago there was a video of him on various social media platforms.
He was is at that time in an old aged home in St Estevam.
2 months ago as the lady who called me LUIZA sounded suspicious and not very open and I knew there was more than what meets the eye and I did not feel like helping him which made LUIZA get Francis into that old aged home.
But GOD had different plans for FRANCIS ALFONSO @ Street Providence.
Well Francis himself abandoned his wife , mother & 2 children for over 10 years .
4 months ago he landed in Goa and LUIZA admitted him into GMC as that leg had gone bad.
After discharge he was sent to LUIZA sister house for a few days.
But then he needed a place and LUIZA was trying her level best but no one entertained her requests including me as the presentation what LUIZA was showing was not matching with reality .
Fr ABREU gave a letter and LUIZA admitted this man FRANCIS into the old aged home at
St Estevan but did not sign the admission papers.
And went back to PUNE .
Now it's a very expensive matter to treat such people and some one has to foot the bills .
For 30 to 45 days the old aged home tried their level best but the wounds were beyond repairs in a old aged home .
I had sent a message to the old aged home thru Adv Gawas to admitt him into a Government hospital but they did not pay heed.
10 days back , Francis was given a few Rupees put in a rickshaw and asked to leave/ go /vacate the home as the wound were beyond liveable in that old aged home .
Remember Street Providence is the only NGO able to take in such horrific cases FREE OF COST
So once Francis was on the streets, what will he do?
Goa Police @ Margao police station found him / or he reached the station.
Seeing his pathetic condition,  PSI Yash Raikar @ Margao Police station was kind enough to listen to him and attempt to help him .
Psi Yash called me and with the 2nd sentence of describing the man I knew it was FRANCIS.
I requested Psi Yash to admitt him into district hospital margao as that leg was oozing and assured to accept him into our home once stabilised.
District hospital Margao was kind enough to keep him inside for 5 days and treat him and did a good job.
Now on the phone sitting in Sangolda if I could coordinate and convince the police to admitt FRANCIS into the hospital then the same thing a few days earlier the old aged home could have done.
John Baptist our volunteer @ Fatorda was daily following with FRANCIS in the hospital.
Yesterday we discharged him and took him home, thanks to Akshay who did the needful.
You reading this conclude and let me know who is at fault here ?
Francis told me today on the phone he made a mistake and he is totally at fault and is not interested in troubling his family any more .
Francis will be looked after for the rest of his life free of cost .
None of our shelter homes have in-house nurses or professional care givers like how old aged homes have.
Nor do we charge fees or expect any fees from such abandoned people.
But we accept many such cases through the police/ hospitals  with cuts , wounds , amputated, incapicated, insane,  etc .
We require your help through donations to get medical help as there are daily dressings to be done for FRANCIS at Margao and he is housed at Quepem and he can't be sent on a bike or bus as that leg is oozing .
Also there will be medication , dressings , hospital trips , consultations,  diet , etc to attend to Francis to avoid loosing his leg .
You small donation can play a big part  In helping this lost, rejected  confused, abandoned , elderly senior citizen goan man to start life again. .
He realised his mistake.
We are the one stop last home for such highly complicated cases and we accept but thru the police or if the truth is told while admitting .
I tried to avoid taking Francis in but God was sure he would be cared for at our NGO .
God bless you

HELP TO THIS INJURED, HOMELESS AND HUNGRY YOUNG MAN FROM THE SUBWAY JUST OUTSIDE OF GMC .

29.7.2022. 8pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA gets help to this injured,  homeless and hungry young man from the Subway just outside of GMC .
KRISHNA as he says his name  has been staying for over 5 to 6 days in the subway outside GMC Bambolim.
2 days back the usual SPOTTER , Mrs SUZETTE ADVANI ( who has a eye for spotting such people in this subway ) informed me that a poor homeless man is there in the subway.
Our team member investigated and confirmed the same but due to other prior works we could not get him off that sub way .
Yesterday we stopped our other works and got help to KRISHNA.
108 was quick to respond.
Gmc was kind enough to take him in and treat him .
We requested to keep him for a day on drips as we are really up to our necks .
Gmc agreed but looks like late last night KRISHNA again sneaked out of GMC .
Today at 11 am we went to discharge him but he was not on his bed.
Douglas searched around GMC and spotted him .
By that time he had completely dirtied himself again.
Without wasting time he was picked up and taken to Assnora home where he was cleant and bathed.
The wound is a huge one on his buttocks / thigh .
Attached a small video of 2 min 👇
At 1 min 17 sec in the video you can see his big  wound on his thigh
Looks like from BANGALORE as he keeps mumbling I want to go to BANGALORE.
It's going to be a long road for him and a complicated case for us to treat .
One is the wound , then is his toilet movements, then is his mind which needs treatment.
Possible, but difficult, both requiring manpower to look after him and endless trips to GMC for treating that wound & IPHB for his mind .
Going to be an expensive case for our NGO with numerous trips to hospitals.
Its a non ending service 24*7 ,  30 days a month,  365 days a year .
Too many homeless & too many losing their mind either to alcohol , drugs , depression,  stress , family issues, love affairs .
Every single day we get requests .
Some we attend,  some we ignore as we just can't be every where all the time .
Public too needs to do their part by calling the 108 & the local police.
Please support our NGO.

SENIOR HOMELESS CITIZEN MR BAHADUR a NEPALI LOST AND LONELY IN GOA .

28.7.2022. 7pm IST
From being crawling on the streets for over 6 months before we picked him up ,  to being on a wheel chair for 3 months, to being able to stand slightly after another 6 months, to now being a full fledged gardener is not an easy task for this senior homeless citizen Mr Bahadur a Nepali lost and lonely in Goa .
♡♡♡ Thanks to our in house Physio therapy sessions @ Dr Gail and Mrs Ditosa Memorial Medical Clinic , Sangolda,  where  Dr Ashton is  treating alot of our homeless street men, the change is there to present to the world.
Bahadur was totally a wreck in Jan 2021.
Could not stand , no control over his toilet habits,
Crazy in his mind , irritating and stubborn but yet the team took care of him .
Lots of trouble in those early few months .
Some where in Nov 21, he decided to go back to the streets is when I had a hard and loud talk which convinced him that his future is bright in our shelter Home.
I could literally see him back on the streets begging and loitering if I had let him go that day .
That talk opened his eyes to reality and from early Jan 22 he has been doing a wonderful job at our Assnora home which is all rock and stone .
He actually would sit for hours doing up the landscape and the garden inspite of it being  rocky and hard rocks.
For more than over a month he has been brought 3 times a week for Physiotherapy to our Clinic at Sangolda and that has worked wonders for him .
Last few days he is at my place in Sangolda doing up my garden and I really can't imagine that this old dirty crawling man has transformed into such a handsome,  strong old man full of life and motivation.
He teaches alot of other men suffering from disabilities how to detoxify in the garden by doing gardening.
And that is very healthy and natural, ie putting your hands in soil while gardening.
Talks absolutely little but does great work @ 70 years age which is difficult to believe and beat .
I can't express how joyful it is to see the fruits of our service to the homeless In Goa .
It's amazing and satisfying that one elderly crawling abandoned alcoholic man who refused to get off the streets today is totally transformed with just one loud shout and some tough talk .
We walk the talk no matter how severe the person medical condition is at the time of admission.
95% time we succeed in getting the best out of these homeless abandoned people.
This has been possible due to the benefactors who month after month,  year after year have been blessings us .
An very complicated, expensive and round the clock service but the results are sure shot and achievable.
Please support our NGO.
You get 50% deduction / rebate under section 80G of the INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.

WE ACCEPTED INTO OUR HOME a GOAN ELDERLY LADY AGED 70 YEARS

24.7.2022.  7pm IST
Today we celebrate the second world day for grandparents & the elderly.
The theme for this year’s World Day is “In old age they will still bear fruit” (Psalm 92:15) and emphasizes how grandparents and the elderly are a value and a gift both for society and for communities.
But what about the grandparents & the elderly who actually have no grandchildren around  & are  abandoned by their own children & are just absolutely lonely in this world with no roof, no food and no one to even talk too.
Few days back, we accepted into our home a goan elderly lady aged 70 years who is a grand parent but just left to fend all alone .
Orphaned at a very early age and never ever received love from her parents.
Settled down in life,  but again no peace of mind .
Worked all her life but her only son abandoned her and went abroad.
At 70 years she has been putting in her best to work but the damages are too much both in mind and body.
She has been trying her level best to get a free home to stay but no one actually understood her.
Finally she got in touch with us and we took her in and assured her that till she leaves this planet she will be looked aftered and cared for .
You and I together can be a Child or a grandchild to such elderly people who are homeless and in need of a free place to stay.
One thing I have observed and understood although I am very impatient and very straight forward ie The prayers and blessings of the elderly and abandoned are very effective.
God surely must be hearing their prayers .
If there are such lonely & abandoned  Goan grandparents looking for free shelter and are really poor please let's help them .
Celebrating on paper Grandparents & elderly day without actually helping such oldies is not exciting.
We need to walk the talk and not just ignore.
Both our women homes are overloaded but we can always adjust , squeeze, accommodate if the need arises .
Starting soon another two such free women homes for the poor abandoned homeless street women which can take in another 30 ladies.
Please support our NGO.
You get 50% deduction / rebate under section 80G of the INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.

THANKS THE INSPECTOR @ CURCHOREM POLICE STATION FOR ATTENDING TO A REQUEST TO REHABILITATE THIS LADY ALL WITHIN FLAT 5 HOURS.

22.7.2022. 8 pm IST
Divorced, orphaned, homeless, suffering from mental disabilities & rejected by own family for not being able to bear a child is how I can describe this poor goan middle aged lady
Street Providence thanks the Inspector @ Curchorem Police Station for attending to a request to rehabilitate this lady all within flat
5 hours.
Inspector Mr Vaibhav @ Curchorem Police station is informed about this homeless goan lady staying and sleeping for a few weeks in public places and informs me at 5pm if we can rehabilitate.
It's a straight YES and the paperwork and basic medical is done by 7pm .
Now it's Curchorem to Sangolda .
Since it going to be quite a distance to both ie
if we go to pick her from Curchorem or if the police drop her to sangolda , we decide mid point at Agassiam.
At 8pm Curchorem Police leave from there and Sapnesh & a lady caregiver leave from Porvorim.
9 pm Approx the handover is done and the lady is really stressed and tired.
By 10 pm Sapnesh, lady caregiver and this homeless lady reach the shelter home.
Usually no one accepts admissions after 7pm but rules are meant to be broken as the lady is homeless.
The homeless lady freshnes up , eats a meal and sleeps like a log .
Today at 6 pm she opens up about her life and is pretty sad and depressing what she went thru after being married for 12 years and now being divorced for 5 years .
The saving grace Is she is taking her psychiatric medicines daily which is why she is within repairs and will be stable within a month time .
The damages are not medium or severe but mild but will get her check up done on Monday at the IPHB to be sure regarding her medication.
She has gone through something which only a few can understand and visualize.
Inspite of both our ladies Home being full with close to 32 such homeless women suffering from mental & physical disabilities, we yet are able to accommodate her at this point of time.
We are shortly starting , 2 more free rehabilitation shelter homes for another 30  homeless women, as I am aware that there are many ladies out there in Goa looking for help .
Once again we need to appreciate Mr Vaibhav for showing compassion and attending to the complaint and making that call to us requesting to rehabilitate this middle aged goan woman .
Please support our NGO.
You get 50% deduction / rebate under section 80G of the INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.

GETS OFF THE WET RAINY STREETS AN ELDERLY KONKANI SPEAKING MAN WITH A FRESH WOUNDED LEG .

13.7.2022  7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA responds quickly to a request from Mrs Chryselle Dias , who stays in Casa da Moeda ( Mint House ) opp head post office Panjim and gets off the wet rainy streets an elderly konkani speaking man with a fresh wounded leg .
Mohan Naik is from UK ( Uttar kannada ) and has been rejected by his family making him beg, work and live on the streets of panjim below the building of Casa da Moeda.
Mrs Chryselle saw his plight and suffering, which is an exposed wound which is fresh on his leg and requested me to help,  strictly through whatsapp.
Mrs Chryselle followed the instructions through whatsapp and flat within 24 hours we got this man into our home.
☆☆We appreciate Mrs Chryselle for knowing who  her neighbour is
♡♡♡ Thanks to our rescue team ie Sapnesh, Eric & Douglas for the smooth co ordination and effort in getting the man off the streets supported by the Goa Police @ Panjim Police Station.
This is how things should go about .
If instructions are followed, if the complainant has a little patience , if there is compassion to help the homeless then it makes the rescue very easy and quick and we too feel happy to respond.
We can't just go on following up on a picture which at times fellow samaritans click and send and give excuses example ” I was in a bus and saw this person on the streets” , etc.
Pretty big and deep wound on Mohan Naik leg and if not treated in time could have even made him amputate his leg .
Daily dressings is required at the Government hospital which means our Ambulance has to go to the assnora home from Porvorim, pick Mohan, get him to District Hospital Mapusa, stand at the OPD till the turn comes, do the dressing and drop him back to Assnora home before heading to Porvorim.
Half day gone just on this procedure but we have to do it .
Takes time, driver + assistant and diesel.
This rains are non stop in Goa and am aware that there are many such homeless intending to get off the streets but we just can't reach them until people like Mrs Chryselle inform us that the homeless are looking for shelter.
We need many like Mrs Chryselle to scout and look out for the elderly and sick homeless
( priorty ) on the streets of Goa and co ordinate with us to get them a warm bed , medication and food on a plate.
We can togther eradicate the Homelessness in Goa .
Please support our NGO.
You get 50% deduction / rebate under section 80G of the INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.
We accept only CHEQUES / NEFT with your pan card copy .

WAS REQUESTED TO HELP THIS MAN SIDDHU DAS WHO WAS JUST LYING ON THE STREETS OF PANJIM

10.7.2022  5 pm IST
Love thy neighbor.  But who is thy neighbor ?
Exactly 4 months ago, Street Providence was requested to help this man Siddhu Das who was just lying on the streets of panjim for over 2 months.
This is the original link ,  4 months ago when we picked him along with another man 👎
Siddhu Das was unable to move , was living in dirt , unable to get up.
In his words ” waiting to die “.  Hear his video it's in hindi . 👇
Would drink alcohol daily which made him in the state you see him earlier.
We took him in, cleant him and got him medically examined, started his medication and slowly he was made to believe that he will live a long life but he has to work towards his recovery.
Daily his legs were massaged with oil by another homeless man who was like him in the same condition.
Siddhu suddenly developed a liking to live and showed the commitment to respond to the treatment.
Last 3 weeks he has been brought every alternate day to our Physiotherapy sessions at Sangolda and that has hastened his recovery.
His muscles and veins had been totally destroyed by alcohol which resulted in him being unable to stand and walk .
After his detoxification, total no alcohol, nutritious food , medication, massage and now Physiotherapy, I can say he is 90% fit .
He had really given up his willingness to live when he was on the streets for those 2 months and today he is grateful that he has another chance to live .
Once fully recovered, he will stay back and work for two years, helping the others who will be coming in like him to recover in our shelter Home
It's was not easy stabilizing Siddhu in the 1st few days due to his alcohol and muscles issues,  but in the last 5 years our NGO staff has acquired the art of looking after homeless street people with mental disabilities as well as chronic alcohol related issues with complete ease .
This is my neighbour & your neighbour
( for those who heard today Sunday reading )
Just 4 months back Siddhu had to be lifted from the streets on a stretcher and brought to our home,  but today standing straight and walking just perfectly fine .
Most of the time , admissions like Siddhu case reaches a state of complete recovery both in the mind and in the body.
95 % we have been successful in handling such extreme cases of immobility to complete recovery.
With additional ammunition in the form of our New Physiotherapy centre, we are sure to get help to many many such cases in a lesser amount of time .
The best part of our REHABILITATION program is ” recovered homeless men stay back as a sign of gratitude to help those who require help ”
Please support our NGO.
You get 50% deduction / rebate under section 80G of the INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.
We accept only CHEQUES / NEFT with your pan card copy .
