#COUPON OF HOPE GENERATES A VERY GOOD RESPONSE

#COUPON OF HOPE is a new scheme planned to generate more food for the poor on the streets.  STREET PROVIDENCE together with NAVTARA Group of Hotels requests customers having a snack or a meal at their hotel to buy a #COUPON OF HOPE for Rs. 40/- which can give one meal to a homeless person.

We started the scheme on 1st August 2020 and happy to say that the response has been very good.  We collected 62 #COUPONS OF HOPE from the NAVTARA HOTELS and fed 62 persons in Mapusa and Panjim.

I thank you for your generosity and a big salute to all generous hearts.  Please continue helping the needy people.

DONATES OUR ONLY AMBULANCE TOWARDS THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID

4.8.2020 4pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST, GOA joins the Covid fight in Goa
Ana Gracias from Chimbel & Mr Abby Dsouza are the LATEST COVID WARRIORS and both are simple people
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA DONATES our only AMBULANCE towards the fight against COVID and we stand with the poorest of the poor at CHIMBEL , GOA.
This message is not to put any one down but it's to support our DOCTORS working tirelessly in various parts of Goa .
NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS or BELOW THE BELT HITTING .
We stand with the Government of Goa .
Chimbel is a village which most of us in Goa must have heard off.
There is a PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRE run by DR JUDE and his team who are doing a superb fantastic job which many in that area will vouch for and be happy with.
The lanes are a bit small.
Bigger ambulances are an issue .
☆ ANA GRACIAS who took a big step in feeding the hungry during the lockdown in those areas for more than 2 months , saw the requirement of a smaller ambulance in that area, requested me during a telephone call which I had made to her 2 week back to look into the matter and see what best can be done.
And here I had a golden opportunity to do something which is directly benefitting the people of CHIMBEL .
This was my 1st van bought in 2015 before we formed Street Providence and we transported many many people in it .
I remember driving myself atleast for 2 full years this ambulance for 2 physically challenged boys from different families who needed trips to hospitals and their schools .
Later on this small Maruti omni ambulance was used for transporting street Providence homeless street men .
It's too small and we were looking for a MARUTI ECO ambulance only, as more people can be accommodated which costs about rs 6 lacs.
I quickly agreed to give the ambulance FREE OF COST, but getting a driver was the issue.
For almost 10 days it looked impossible until last week when A YOUNG BOY Mr  ABBY DSOUZA agreed to drive the ambulance and support Dr Jude and his team in whatever way possible.
We ask you to keep Mr ABBY in your daily prayers as well as all the other drivers who drive the ambulances daily .
Abby is doing it voluntarily and he needs to be congratulated and encouraged.
Thanks to the North Goa Collector , Mrs Maneka for supporting Ana Gracias ,
Dr Jude and this ambulance for Chimbel area by issuing an order enabling our Ambulance to be attached to the Chimbel Health Centre .
Big thanks to The Revenue Minister of Goa , Mrs Jennifer for supporting this service by getting the order given at lighting speed so that the ambulance can be used immediately without further delay as we already lost 10 days trying to get permission .
Thanks to the Sarpanch & the members of Chimbel Village Panchayat who have agreed to take care of the ambulance .
This ambulance will be used for basically transporting the poor, bed ridden , handicapped, old , infirmed people for a swab testing to the primary health centre in Chimbel area.
It can be also used to transport people to the nearest Covid Hospital in case of emergency .
Incase if death , free transportation can be done so as to avoid paying huge Bill's and in this way those poor people can be benefitted.
Incase any old or sick or differently challenged person is In a COVID centre and needs to go home , getting an ambulance can be difficult and expensive.
Basically this ambulance can be used for many purposes .
The ambulance movement will be monitored and operated only under the instructions of Dr Jude.
Support us as we require :
▪︎PPE KITS for driver and attendant ,
▪︎Machine for SANITATION OF THE VAN ,
▪︎Out of pocket expenses,
▪︎ETC
We @ Street Providence have always stood with the poorest of the poor in Goa.
Anyway we were hiring taxis to go to hospital and the no.of homeless people in our homes have increased and the ambulance was too small.
We can wait till we manage to get another bigger MARUTI ECO AMBULANCE.
There must be requirements in other PHC for such small ambulances during situation like this .
If you have a 2nd hand maruti omni ambulance / Eco Car or any Jeep or SUV and wish to give it away please give it to us and we will put it to best possible use.
Support us with your prayers, wishes and blessings.
We offer 80 G exemptions on all your donations along with your pan card copy.

BACK TO FEEDING ON THE STREETS AFTER A 10 DAYS BREAK DURING THIS COVID 19.

1.8.2020 2 pm IST
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR SANGOLDA GOA is back to feeding on the streets after a 10 days break during this COVID 19.
And that too with a very innovative idea .
Read on .
☆ 1. NAVTARA GROUP OF RESTAURANTS have started a innovative way of reaching out to the homeless and needy in Goa along with Food Bank.
All you need to do is buy / pay for a meal coupon everytime u eat a meal at any of NAVTARA outlets across GOA.
Once you buy this coupon you can hand it over to a needy person/ homeless person who you might come across in your locality, who can then redeem these coupons at any outlet of Navtara across Goa OR
You can drop it in a box which is placed in each of the NAVTARA outlet .
Daily these coupons will be handed over to our volunteers in the respective area who then will distribute these coupons to the homeless people in that area .
For over a year now Navtara has been donating every night fresh food to our food bank fridges as well as to our rehabilitation homes spread across GOA for the homeless street people.
Except for initial 15 days during the lockdown , otherwise daily we used to get about 200 to 300 kgs across all 11 outlets.
Everyday this Quantity would be redistributed on the streets of Goa .
Post Lockdown the Quantity is about 40 to 50 kgs which is still enough to feed our men in our rehabilitation homes.
Today Navtara ie Carlos & Aditya
( & Team ) has started another innovative way of feeding the homeless along with our FOOD BANK volunteers through these COUPONS.
☆ 2. OUR FOOD BANK VOLUNTEERS are back to serving free breakfast outside the government hospitals.

▪︎District Hospital ( Mapusa )
▪︎District Hospital ( Margao )
Read the poster attached.
We are buying this breakfast from a local caterer at porvorim who cooks for both Panjim & Mapusa, at a minimum profit.

Thanks to the owners of Radison Hotels, Mr Victor Albuquerque and his sons , Varun & Vinay for donating 250+ crts of this tetra pack JUICE.
We require :

Should be able to drive a car and willing to take the risk of serving the poor during this pandemic between 7am to 9am latest.
▪︎2. Your support through your prayers, wishes, blessing and donations .
▪︎3. Your extra cooked food in bulk incase you are running a bakery, restaurant , cafe .

Rs 25 lacs WORTH OF FOOD DISTRIBUTED ACROSS GOA DURING THE 4 MONTHS ie 23.3.2020 to 19.7.2020

20.7.2020 6pm IST
Rs 25 lacs worth of food ( and a few non edible stuff ) distributed across Goa during the 4 months ie 23.3.2020 to 19.7.2020 by
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR SANGOLDA, GOA &
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA.
All daily details on our Website
We place before you in an excel sheet to all our :
☆ Trustees,
☆ Benefactors,
☆ Volunteers,
☆ Associates,
☆ Supporters,
☆ Collaborators,
☆ Critics,
☆ Friends,
☆ And all on Social media platform.
This very small contribution to our SOCIETY in GOA , by one of the youngest and smallest NGOs has been only possible because of YOU our BENEFACTORS who have contributed voluntarily in so many forms like :
Cheques / NEFT ,
Kind in the form of ration ,
Those who paid our Bill's directly ,
strictly only because of SOCIAL MEDIA medium platform.
Very few benefactors have met me but yet we managed to put all resources together for the poorest of the poor .
I apologize to any BENEFACTOR if I went off track during this 4 months and please be free to WhatsApp me your advice incase you feel I need correction.
Thanks to our trustees for the support.
Big Big thanks to the numerous VOLUNTEERS ( and our FOOD BANK fridges who took the trouble to distribute food in their locality daily) right across GOA who voluntarily came whenever the need arose to help in the distribution of food grains, packaged food, meals, daily breakfast , etc .
Like I always state , STREET PROVIDENCE & FOOD BANK is & will always be a VOLUNTEER based NGO and not bsaed on 1 person.
But the biggest ACHIEVEMENT I would like to highlight is we TOOK OFF THE STREET 25 homeless people during the lockdown and provided them rehabilitation.
Thanks to GOA POLICE for doing all the paperwork and taking the trouble to provide relief to these 25 homeless street people at our homes .
Took a big risk but am sure it was the wisest decision to open our doors to those in worst time of this shutdown .
Another few points to be noted is
▪︎1. We did not throw out or ask to leave any of our homeless people during this COVID.
▪︎2. We spent over rs 4 lacs on operations, treatment , transportation and hospitalization on a few homeless street people during this COVID.
We are now on a 10 days break .
All activity are shut as we have to attend to our homeless sick people in our homes and get a few days recharge of our batteries.
We are not serving food as of today in GOA neither are we accepting any homeless street people as the houses are almost full.
Will come back with a new plan by 1st August depending on the situation.
Big appreciation to these establishments :
♡ Creamux bakery : for sliced breads
♡ Navtara : pre packed meals
♡ Pradosh Amoncar : cooked food (FREE
♡ Maria porvorim : morning breakfast
♡ Sarang kerkar porvorim : NANS / rotis
♡ Anil bakery assagao : bread / pav
♡ Nizamuddin mapusa yard : bananas
♡ Dark Sensation : sliced cake
♡ Dinesh Anjuna : batatwada
♡ Coca cola : minute maid JUICEs (FREE
♡ Zuzart : Tan water
♡ Giving for Goa ( free cooked food )
For charging us cost to cost at no profit no loss basis.
It's just wonderful going out there and reaching out to so many many people.
I must have done the least work by staying in the office and co coordinating the entire operation as well as raising resources .
A BIG THANKS TO these few full time STREET PROVIDENCE VOLUNTEERS:
▪︎1. SAPNESH SALGAONKAR our Operation incharge who single handedly with his cool nature and die hard attitude followed and relayed instructions down the line .

When the going gets tough , the tough gets going .

God bless you all
