2.6.2021  5pm IST
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR SANGOLDA & STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST, GOA is attempting to distribute Rs 1 crore worth of dry ration over the next 6 months covering over 2000 families monthly,  only in Goa .
The smallest & youngest NGO in Goa , with the biggest hearts 💕
Food Bank for the poor,  Sangolda, Goa , distributes 500 kits of dry ration worth
Rs 1000 each , to our ethnic poor goans on 31.5.2021 for the month of May 2021.

Earlier in the week we had distributed 250 kits of dry ration to 250 Hiv +ve poor families in Goa with a commitment that for the next 6 months we will send this ration.
This 2nd wave coupled with the lockdown ,  job losses and high inflation has made survival of the poor ethnic goans across rural Goa, extremely difficult .
We identified and motivated our volunteers to enroll and identify the poorest of the poor ethnic goans and we are going to  support these families for the next 3 months for sure,  if not 6 months.
This is where we gave away 500 kits of dry ration with our volunteers name & no .

DONATES 250 KITS OF DRY RATION FOR May 21, TO 250 HIV +ve FAMILIES ACROSS GOA

1.6.2021  10am IST
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR, SANGOLDA, GOA , donates 250 kits of dry ration for May 21, to 250 HIV +ve  families across Goa in collaboration with these 3 NGO ie :
☆ Udant
☆ Zindagi
☆ Presentation Society .
Attached 3 small videos of 1 min each of the 3 NGOs
▪︎2 in English
▪︎1 in Konkanni
During the 1st wave of Covid , last year , we had supported these 250 families for over 6 months with these dry ration kits in collaboration with the above 3 NGOs.
All these 250 families data is registered with us and time to time we conduct visits to understand their difficulties along with the above 3 NGOs.
Now again during the 2nd wave we have decided and committed for 6 months we will monthly donate 250 dry ration kits to these poor and labour class who are suffering from HIV, some goans, some non goans .
♡♡ Thanks to alot of our Benefactors &
Azim Premji Foundation , Bangalore for supporting us with feeding these
250 hiv +ve families in Goa.
♡♡ Thanks to M/s Gadvi , Corlim, ( DIG) for the line of credit and express delivery.
♡♡ Thanks to all the staff of the above 3 NGOs who have come forward to pack these kits as well as distribute these dry ration kits across Goa.
Both jobs are not an easy task.
It's been a wonderful journey from Nov 2017, when we started with just 50 kits of dry ration through Presentation Society ,
Sr Deepti , who for over 15 years may be even 20 years,  has been working with poor HIV infected families.
From late 2017 till early 2020, we monthly sent her these 50 kits of dry ration.
We never missed a month.
From June 2020 , during the 1st lockdown,  we increased these kits to 250,  worth
Rs.1000 each , and took the support of the other 2 NGOs , ie Udant & Zindagi.
As a principal in our NGO, we never take credit and work alone.
We always work and operate through our :
Volunteers,  supporters,  other NGOs,  team members and we give them the support and credit when such huge work is done month after month,  year after year .
More hands make light work.
Our job is to provide the resources and move the resources and give credit to those on the ground.
This 2nd wave is really bad and as always the poor , daily wages,  widows,  elderly,  single parent are badly hit .
If you wish to support this project,  please donate generously.
Each ration kit is Rs.1000
Support us in whatever way you can.
Donate generously to our NGO.
We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.
Donations only through cheque /NEFT along with your pan card copy .

We have not had a single case of covid among our homeless street people in our homes.
As a small Thanksgiving for all their good health, we @ The Food Bank are running this FREE MEALS FOR COVID +ve for entire month of June 2021.
With volunteers and a base across Goa , we have decided to partner along with Navtara Group of restaurants and buy the meals from them instead of cooking food as logistics is too much to bear .

DISTRIBUTES 400 CRTS OF PACKAGED DRINKING WATER TO OUR FRONT LINE WARRIORS @ GOA POLICE ACROSS INTERIOR GOA

28.5.2021  9pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA distributes 400 crts of packaged drinking water to our front line warriors @ Goa Police across interior Goa as well as hand sanitizers to the Inspector @ Sanguem Police Station .
☆☆ Mr Akash Pednekar our volunteer from Curchorem has been doing a wonderful service in rural Goa right from Quepem to Sanguem for over a year.
Yesterday he offloaded 400 crts of packaged drinking water at these Police stations as we stand with the front line warriors.
☆ Quepem 75 crts
☆ Curchorem 75 crts
☆ Sanguem 75 crts
☆ Ponda 100 crts
☆ Collem 75 crts.
Akash also handed over a few days earlier hand sanitizers to the entire staff of Sanguem Police Station.
Akash also regularly sanitizers the police stations in that area and he does it with a smile.
If any locality in that area right from Quepem to Sanguem requires free sanitization please be free to call Mr Akash Pednekar on 8767548370.
Over the last 4 years , Goa Police too has supported our NGO by getting close to over 350 people of the streets into our shelter homes.
Sometimes due to work pressure, the request for rehabilitation is just ignored by the police.
We are only reminding our front line warriors @ Goa Police to little considerate towards the homeless street people.
As this pandemic is creating alot of health issues,  our front line warriors too are taking the hit.
We will be there in whatever little we can do to support @ Goa Police in different Police stations across Goa .
This is the least we can do .
You too can play your part .
If you wish to donate to the front line warriors please come forward.
Small acts boost the front line warriors morale.
While you and I and most of us are safe at home,  these front line warriors take alot of trouble implementing the lockdown.
Weather too is turning wet with rains around the corner.
God bless you so much

FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR , SANGOLDA , GOA , CELEBRATES OUR 4th ANNIVERSARY AS A REGISTERED FOOD BANK TODAY.

27.5.2021  8pm IST
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR , SANGOLDA , GOA , celebrates our 4th anniversary as a registeted food bank today.
It's also a double occasion as , Our uncle,  Fr Walter Gomes, SFX , celebrates his 80th birthday today as well as 51 glorious years as a PRIEST .
Four years back,  Fr Walter ( loving known as Babush ) had blessed this program at Sangolda.
We went on to install close to 38 such fridges across Goa , before the pandemic started in March 20, which has practically slowed down the food banks .
As a registered NGO , we are known as STREET PROVIDENCE.
We started with just 1 fridge for the 1st six months,  but we also opened up homes for these hungry homeless street people.
Running a complicated and mammoth operation @ Street Providence , requires collaborators,  volunteers and supporters.
Today we recognize the following top 6 volunteers and 1 care giver for the year 2020-2021 and like last year , no function so we only presented them momentos.
☆ 1. Inspector Tushar @ Mapusa Police Station,  who through his station has got over 160 homeless people into our home.
He and his entire staff make our paper work easy, simple and stress free .
☆ 2. Sr. Vandana , Provincial of St Clare , FMCK.
More of a COLLABORATOR , and has supported us to run a 2nd home for homeless street women , by providing FMCK nuns as care givers.
Not many Provincials I can say would think of the homeless street women and would partner with a LAY organization.
☆ 3. Prof Pai , a senior citizen & a Retd Goa University Prof , has been from Feb 2020 serving breakfast outside IPHB & GMC.
Pandemic or not,  Prof Pai is there daily at the hospitals,  be it sun , rain or the cold .
Feeding the hungry has become Prof Pai passion .
☆ 4. Mr. John Baptist , from Margao has been feeding breakfast outside district hospital from June 2020 till March 21 , when he got Covid.
Till Jan 21 , John used to be out handy man in our south goa homes attending and fixing our electrical and plumbing work,  FREE OF COST.
☆ 5. Mr Akash Pednekar,  from Curchorem has been volunteering for over a year with us .
Right from feeding dry ration kits to many families in rural goa, to paying poor families electricity bills , to sanitizing for free poor localities,  to feeding the poor right from Quepem to Sanguem,  Akash is our man .
☆ 6. Mrs Tanaya Vaigankar , our accountant for the last 4 years.
Has been taking care of the office and the accounts diligently without a noise.
Cool woman who never gets angry nor loses her nerves irrespective of the work pressure .
☆ Last is our care giver , Mr Asim .
Came 2 years back for rehabilitation and
is currently doing the service as a care giver looking after the incapacitated men in our home.
He cleans,  baths,  shaves,  apply medication and bandages all with his NEPALI smile.
A big thanks to Almighty God for these wonderful people who came into our life and played their role to perfection .
God bless you so much

STANDS WITH THE FRONT LINE COVID WARRIORS @ GOA POLICE.

12.5.2021  8pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA stands with the FRONT LINE covid warriors @ Goa Police.
These front line warriors require yours and our support and as a small gesture we gave 26 OXIMETERS to 26 police stations throughout Goa .
I handed over to Dysp Edwin ,
SDPO PORVORIM,  9 such OXIMETERS for these areas 👇
☆ Mapusa    SDPO 3 Nos
☆ Panjim      SDPO 3 Nos
☆ Porvorim  SDPO 3 Nos
Small video attached of Dysp Porvorim.👇
Our volunteer Akash handed over to
☆ Dysp Raut       , SDPO VASCO ,    4 nos
☆ Dysp Harish    , SDPO MARGAO , 5 nos
☆ Dysp Kiran      , SDPO QUEPEM ,  4 nos
☆ Dysp Nelson   , SDPO PONDA , 2 nos
1 pictures attached of Akash handing over.
Total close to 3000 approx personal in these stations can use these machines to check the parameter using this oximeter.
♡♡ Thanks to GOANS4GOA, London, for donating 50 OXIMETERS to our NGO.
Incase of emergency , atleast these oximeters can be used by the local police stations, for people who might be in a serious situation in the vicinity of that  police station.
Yes the oximeters will be sanitized by the user every time they use the oximeter.
After all the life these police men lead is quite stressful especially during this pandemic period where the police man stands day and night on the roads, bus stops, public places maintaining law & order.
Please no negative comments on this post as we @ Street Providence , use the services of Goa Police to get the homeless of the streets,  which they do just wonderfully.
Without the support of the Police it's impossible to pick & rehabilitate the homeless street people.
Small sign of gratitude from our NGO to the Goa Police.
Through our WATER BANK,  we also are donating packaged water bottles to the individual police stations so that during this heat and extreme hot weather , they can quench their thirst and to the poor homeless people in their jurisdiction.
Attached 1 picture of the water crts
Today we offered packaged water :
☆ 100 crts to Porvorim Police Station
☆ 150 crts to Mapusa Police Station
☆ 100 crts to Calangute police station
☆ 50 crts to Saligao police station.
There are still many more stations to be offered.
This weekend we will be giving packaged water to these police stations :
▪︎Curchoren
▪︎Sanguem
▪︎Quepem
▪︎Ponda
▪︎Collem
I always tell many , these Frontline warriors are some one brother,  sister, mother   father and have families. Don't judge.
We need to just change our thinking, rest good will follow.
Not all Police Inspectors are good to our NGO.
Infact , late December 2020 , one inspector threatened to arrest me , so much so I had to file for anticipatory bail as there was complaint lodged against me and the NGO about trespassing and other sections.
But such situations does not change my attitude or support to doing little, that OUR NGO can do towards the Police who are the front line warriors.
Ultimately we require the support of the police to rehabilitate homeless street people and the police require a home to shelter these homeless.
If any one wishes to pay for these water cartoons please let me know.
One small gesture of providing drinking water goes along way in boosting the morale of these front line warriors @ Goa Police.
Your support is what we require
