IS NOW READY TO OPEN THEIR DOORS IN GOA TO THOSE IMPOVERISHED MEN SUFFERING…..

8.2.2022  2pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST is now ready to open their doors in Goa to those impoverished MEN suffering from Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s Diseases and those who are partially or completely Blind.
Also opening the doors & starting a Women’s Shelter Home, which will now care for women who are HIV positive and are weak and stressed.
The poor and marginalized suffering from the above-mentioned sicknesses have no other recourse and our NGO in Goa has decided to step in and help them lead a life of dignity and peace.
Presently, STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST has a ready Shelter Home for MEN ONLY for the above-mentioned diseases in addition to our existing Shelter Home for Homeless HIV positive men.
We need to urgently start a Shelter Home for HIV positive women.
We are unable to house them in our 2 existing women Shelter Homes (which are full to capacity), due to space constraints and the need for separate washrooms etc
Both our women Shelter homes take care of women with mental & intellectual disabilities.
Caring for Homeless persons suffering from the above-mentioned diseases requires great skill and dedication.
We are looking to partner with
☆ 1. Doctors / Consultants / nurses
☆ 2. Care givers either husband & wife or single
☆ 3. Counsellors / experts with experience
☆ 4. Volunteers who would like to join as full time give caregivers.
☆ 5. Residential accommodation to house street women who are HIV positive. This will be run and supported by the NGO.
☆ 6. Other NGOs / organization who would like to help/assist in any way.
Presently, there is no such FREE Shelter Home in Goa to help NIZ GOENKARS, suffering from the above-mentioned sicknesses and our NGO in Goa, being aware of this, is keen on stepping in and providing this facility.
Since 2017, our NGO has been actively involved in caring for and rehabilitating homeless street men and women, many of whom suffer from Physical and Mental Disabilities.
Presently we provide care to 110 + such persons and 50% of them are NIZ GOENKARS.
We have :
▪︎4 blind men,
▪︎1 man with Dementia &
▪︎1 woman with Parkinson’s disease ▪︎besides those suffering from physical and mental Disabilities .
Caring for them has brought us face to face with the reality of their situation which would be further compounded if they were living on the streets.
Their plight motivated us to extend the service to as many as we could care for.
The pandemic has further added to this problem as poor Niz Goenkar families just cannot afford to care for their members suffering from these diseases resulting in more of them being abandoned on the streets.
WE NEED TO PROVIDE HELP TO SUCH PERSONS ASAP………………….
We are trying to create a team of Professionals and volunteers who can assist our NGO and help us reach as many of these Homeless Street persons in need of FREE care and Rehabilitation and fellow poor NIZ GOENKARS
Those who can afford,  can chip in .
God is always Gracious and kind to our NGO, and has connected us to :
▪︎Generous Benefactors ,
▪︎Shelter Home Facility to admit more homeless street men,
▪︎Male care givers rehabilitated from the streets and now trained to care for other inmates ,
▪︎The Food Bank Program where daily fresh edible food from canteens, Hotels etc is sent to our Shelter Homes ,
▪︎State Government Departments who have assisted the NGO in the last 5 years ,
▪︎Good health facility through DHS & IPHB for treatment of the residents,
▪︎A very supportive police force @ Goa Police,
▪︎And numerous upright and supportive bureaucrats…………………………………………

ALL who have helped the NGO in its mission “To end Hunger and Homelessness “in Goa.
As an NGO, we are trying to create a team of Professionals to make this Programme of caring for persons with Dementia/ Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s Disease, the partially or completely Blind people and women who are HIV positive a feasible one.
Once the infrastructure and Management process is set up, the NGO will post updates about the admission process.
If any of you reading this post, would like to be a part of this very rewarding yet very difficult Programme, please whatsapp message on 83800 97564 / 70203 14848.
I can assure you that the reward in helping the need and marginalized is beyond the imagination of man!!!!!
God bless you all

THIS ONE GOAN MAN , MR. HANUMANT , WAS ONE OF THE TOUGHEST , COMPLICATED AND MOST DIFFICULT CASES WE HANDLED

3.2.2022  7pm IST
In the last 4 years of our existence as an NGO , we have taken off the streets and into our shelter homes many many men .
This is a video on the life of Mr. Hanumant in our Home :-👇 https://youtu.be/wKA16w4f9kU
But this one Goan Man , Mr Hanumant , was one of the toughest , complicated and most difficult cases we handled .
Attached a video of his various stages of his  rehabilitation in the last 6 months.
Picked up about 6 months from Porvorim,  from an abandoned wet balcony during the monsoon .
All this is his own KARMA .
Drinking and drinking to such an extent that no one wanted him .
Left to fend for himself , by all ,  as his case at that time was pathetic.
I remember when he was brought into our home, he was so weak that he could not even say he wanted to use the washroom .
He used to mess up the surrounding and take off the pamper.
1st we had to detoxify him , then treat him for a month for his mind , then train him to inform when he wanted to go to the washrooms .
It was a freaking nightmare for the care givers and the team .
Slowly he got little strength and he did attempt to improve and started co operating with the care givers .
I still think how did the care givers had so much patience with him ?
His leg / knee is operated I feel before we took him in and thats troubling him to balance his body and walk.
He has pins / roads in his knee / leg which we now need to get out / operate  , etc .
Taken him endlessly to the Hospitals but it's taking time and energy .
Today,  Hanumant  is much much better .
He requires to get well soon and be able to walk without any support.
Now no complaints from the care givers as Hanumant  is in control of his mind and toilet movements.
He has that urge to walk and be a normal person but time is a factor.
Not sure about that but we were trying to help him to get the best treatment in the budget we can afford.
Young man may be 40 years old
Frankly speaking,  within 1 month of he entering our home , I just couldn't understand how to help him .
Complaints and frustration was piling up daily.
But then as STREET PROVIDENCE,  we are like FORCED / BOUND / COMMITTED to handle such cases which no one will take.
At times, we need to be to do things by being AVAILABLE to any situation and not on our ABILITY to tackle the situation.
God will show the way.
But it's about PATIENCE .
We @ Street Providence are happy that we were able to help Hanumant to get back to a level where we could manage him .
If you know such people who require help in Goa, stuck up on roads, bus stops , hospitals, gardens, etc please reach out and talk to them and see what help they require.
Always go to the nearest police station and complain.
We don't pick any one without proper verification by the Police.
If our assistance is required,  pls whatsapp me on 8380097564.
If we can help we will let you know on the spot , yes or no .
Some cases are beyond our capacity.
But we can try .
We require your support and help to reach out to them who are HELPLESS & homeless.
Support us in whatever way you can.
Donate generously to our NGO.
We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.
Donations only through cheque /NEFT along with your pan card copy .

INSTALLS A FRIDGE AT QUEPEM POLICE STATION TO ACCEPT ALL TYPES OF COOKED EXTRA FOOD

31.1.2022  11am IST
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR , SANGOLDA , Installs a fridge at Quepem Police Station to accept all types of cooked extra food instead of throwing it out .
Yes,  you read right .
A food bank fridge in the police station.
Picture attached of the fridge in the station.
♡♡ Thanks to Inspector Mr Deepak Pednekar of Quepem Police station for understanding the words  “HUNGER & HOMELESSNESS “.
Also a big clap to our Volunteer from Curchorem,  Mr Akash Pednekar ( not his relative ) who also is incharge of our Quepem home for taking the Inspector along to support such a wonderful cause of collecting extra food for the poor and homeless,  by installing a fridge in the police station.
♡♡ Thanks to our benefactor Mr Antonio Fernandes for donating this fridge.
It's been a month since we started our home at Quepem for the homeless street men with disabilites.
Many times people from this area and surrounding areas wish to give food at night but our home closes by 9pm.
In the last 2 years , due to the pandemic many of our Food bank fridges were shut as volunteers health was more important than the food .
Besides all types of functions,  weddings , events,  etc have been curtailed due to the pandemic.
But now with things slightly picking up,  I feel there will be some extra food which can be given to our food bank fridges which will be 1st sent to our shelter homes for consumption .
This fridge will serve two purposes :
☆ 1. Whenever there is extra food especially at night , it can be dropped in plastic bags or silver foil into the fridge and by morning it will be taken to our shelter homes by our volunteers.
Police stations are open 24 hours and that's a big advantage to the society.
☆ 2. When the fridge is empty in the day time , IT CAN be used by the staff to store their water bottles as Sumner is around the corner and a cool drink of water is most refreshing to these Police personnel who at times work in hot and humid conditions.
Note : most of the Police Stations ie 25 nos have our water purifiers which our Ngo donated in 2019 , and as such , besides getting purified water , now the police Personel can also drink cool water stored in the fridge.
These fridges will be cleant and maintained by our volunteers during the week.
Once this fridge concept settles down at Quepem Police Station,  we will try to install more such fridges initially where our shelter homes are located by approaching the concerned Inspectors.
In this way :
☆ 1. Our Ngo gets the extra food whenever any one drops .
☆ 2. Police personnel get chilled cold water to drink by using these fridges when there is no food in the fridges
☆ 3.  Police Personel can also give food incase they see any such homeless people hungry at night on their rounds incase there is some snacks or light meals in the fridge.
But above all , I understand that alot of Inspectors have compassion and concern for the hungry & homeless in Goa.
This May 2022 , will be close to 5 years of our food bank Program and I thank alot of people who have come forward to support the hungry in Goa by donating extra food to our fridges.
The day Goa Police Inspectors understanding that a small fridge of 1 mtr * 1 mtr is worth installing in their stations , we will be back on track of saving good food being thrown out and feeding hundreds if not thousands through our existing volunteers right across Goa .
Feeding the hungry is our dream and rehabilitation of the homeless is our service to Society supported by  Goa Police .
With food inflation rising, cost of basic food items increasing and the cost of commercial gas cylinder now costing Rs 2150 , food bank fridges are our only solution to rehabilitating more homeless street people.
Please donate extra food by contacting us well in advance as we can arrange the volunteers or always drop your extra food in our nearest food bank fridges.
Please support our NGO generously.
You get 50% rebate under section 80G of the
INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.
We accept only CHEQUES / NEFT with your pan card copy .

STREET PROVIDENCE WAS DELIGHTED WHEN WE GOT THE NEWS THAT OUR NGO WAS SELECTED BY THE Hon’ble HIGH COURT OF BOMBAY & GOA AT PORVORIM

28.1.2022  7pm IST
This is Grace from God , inspired and implemented by two ladies Justices and one lady Advocate.
☆ What is Grace ?
♡♡ It's a free Gift from God which can't be earned.
Grace is God's willingness to use his  power,  God's authority,  God's ability on my behalf , even though I don't deserve it .
Street Providence was delighted when we got the news that our NGO was selected by the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay & Goa at Porvorim to receive an amount of Rs 5 Lakhs which was fine paid by an erring party for carrying on illegal activities and construction in violation of the CRZ rules.
Attached the newspaper cutting of 11.1.2022.
The Petition was filed by Roshan Mathias a well- know social activist from Candolim., who  is now contesting the Assembly Elections from Calangute Constituency.
Roshan Mathias is well known across Goa for his activism concerning the betterment of Goa & its environment.
I hope and pray that he finally reaches the Goa Assembly this coming Assembly elections.
The advocate for Petitioner Adv. Norma Alvares suggested 4 organizations to the High Court.
The High Court who assessed the work done by the recommended NGOs , finally choose two Ngos
1.  Anyay Rahit Zindagi (ARZ) and
2.  Street Providence
vide its Judgement dated 10th January 2022.
Thanks to  Justice Manisha Pitale & Justice Sadhana Jadhav for the support.
Street Providence has always believed that if our commitment is high, our work honest and sincere and our vision to end homelessness and hunger in Goa is clear,  miracles will pop up along the way to make this dream happen.
We thank  Adv. Norma Alvares and the Hon’ble High Court Justices for validating our work which only gives us an impetus to work harder.
With this amount given by the Honourable High Court this is how we intend to use the same :
1. Our second women home with a capacity of 20 homeless street women with disabilites will be allocated Rs 3 lacs as this is the need of the hour as its not Government funded .
2. We intend to purchase rs 1 lac worth
disability aids / mobility aids & equipments to give out to poor people to use and return incase they require such help
3. We intend to expand our Knowledge bank ( library ) by installing more cupboards across Goa by allocating Rs 1 lac towards this cause .
Once again it feels proud and encouraging , that inspite of being just 4 years old , we have managed to capture the attention of the JUDICARY towards ending hunger and Homelessness,  especially towards homeless stteet women with disabilities.
God bless you all.

MR. ABDUL, A YOUNG MAN

21.1.2022. 7pm IST
Right to Live and live lively is our right.
But what happens when you are down and out and everyone justs ignores you , due to poverty,  sickness, misfortune, etc.
Mr Abdul , a young man , but got his motives wrong and ended up in a public hospital, diagnosed with severe liver issues due to alcohol .
May be Uneducated, uncivilized, lost and lonely.
14th Nov 2021, picked from Chicalim Health Centre in a very weak and sad state .
Attached his 3 min video of the last 2 months . 👇
Was on a pamper , could not even stand forget walk, in a dazed state , violent and
un co cooperative.
But the team and care givers in our home did their best with nutritious food and friendly environment and constant encouragement that today he is fine and normal .
Today is about 2 months.
Abdul , is back to being a normal human being .
Learnt to control his bowels movements , so no pamper ,
Eats, sleeps , bathes , all by himself ,
Washes the plates of 30+ inmates,
Even sweeps and mops the floor .
The best part is ” Abdul now cleans up other
bed ridden and incapicated men on Pampers without being told “.
That shows his mind is active , he understands that he was like that Before , he knows the feeling of being helped and cared for.
Most of his teeth are lost to tobacco so it makes him eat slowly and when he talks his words are little difficult to grasp .
A man left unwanted due to many reasons.
But all such cases are taken in by our NGO without any discrimination provided we can handle their medical issues.
It's certainly satisfying to see such men beating all odds and attempting to Try to get back their lives In their own possible ways .
Its not been easy handing Abdul but it's only due to the patience of the team and care givers , timely medication and hospital follow up, counseling and constant motivation and nutrition that we have managed to get Altaf back on track .
Dr Anil , boss of Chicalim Health Centre,  has been constantly directing and recommending such homeless street men to our shelter.
Good Dr , understands that such men have a chance to start their life again in our NGO.
If you know such men in Goa , stuck up and abandoned in any Government hospitals, then let us know through whatsap only .
We might be able to help provided our team agrees and understands the medical treatment.
You support to us through your donations both in kind and cheque is what makes us go back to the streets, hospitals, police stations searching for the lost .
Please support our NGO generously.
You get 50% rebate under section 80G of the
INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.
We accept only CHEQUES / NEFT with your pan card copy .

REQUESTING THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT OF INDIA, TO UNDERSTAND AND SUPPORT THE DYNAMICS OF channelising THIS EXCESS COOKED FOOD THROUGH FOOD BANKS

20.1.2022  5pm IST
Food wastage is a big crime against the hungry in India and one of the best ways to address this wastage is to encourage and support organized Food banks ( especially in cooked food segment) .
Please do check out this  short video made by us- 👇 https://youtu.be/4IErEywo7EI
Requesting the Central Government of India, to understand and support the dynamics of channelising this excess cooked food through FOOD BANKS to be served to the poor
☆ Rewind May 2017.
Goa's 1st Food Bank Fridge  started in Sangolda Goa ( and it still operates at the same spot ) is open 24*7.
What started initially as a one off idea , slowly ended up covering the  entire state of Goa with close to 38 such Fridges being installed.
Social media platforms like :
▪︎ Whatsapp
▪︎ Facebook
▪︎Instagram etc
was used to create an awareness of the presence of the FOOD BANK that was accepting edible cooked food that would then be distributed to the poor.
The response was and is very  encouraging and many more Food Freezers were installed in Goa.
Hence we intend to always use these social media platforms to spread our message.
From May 2017 till Feb 2020, Food Bank for the Poor, Sangolda , through our many many volunteers accepted and delivered cooked food to hundreds if not thousands of needy people daily .
And then  Covid 19 struck !
SOCIAL MEDIA  connected us to these  Company canteens 5 years ago.
♡ 1.Deccan Fine Chemicals Pvt Ltd,  Corlim
♡ 2. Colgate Palmolive India Pvt Ltd, Kundaim
♡ 3. Cremeaux Bakeries Pvt Ltd,  Corlim
Thanks to social media, they  were aware of our Food Bank Project, and started giving us their excess fresh food daily .
☆ May 2022, will be 5 years for this generous act
For a moment  please visualize the amount of food that is picked up in the last 5 years and served to the needy.
Thousands and thousands of Kgs of food in the last 5 years.
I am sure the  Owners/Management of these company canteens and the Bakery will be delighted   that tons of food given by them to our Food Bank over the last 5 years, helped feed and nourish the poor instead of being thrown in the dustbin.
☆ I an also grateful to :
♡ 1. Navtara group of Restaurants
♡ 2. Dr Britto from Fortune Hotel Candolim
♡ 3. Caterers Association of Goa
♡ 4. Hotel Radison & Hotel Dona Sylvia and

so many other generous eateries and canteens who have given food to the hungry  from July 2017 till Feb 2020 ( pre Pandemic 1st wave) daily .
♡♡ Thanks to all these generous persons, Food Bank for the Poor, Sangolda, through its volunteers  fed thousands of kgs of fresh, edible food to the poor and hungry across Goa.
But that all changed when  Covid -19  struck in March 2020.
Caterers, hotels, Restaurants etc were forced to pull down their shutters and  all the extra food stopped. This situation continues till date
Here I would like to mention that initially for 2 years, our Shelter Homes  depended on this Food Bank Program to feed all residents
Few positive aspect of Our Food Bank program :
¤ 1.Till date no FOOD related issue ever surfaced either publicly or on social media.
¤ 2. Volunteers both young and old got an opportunity to feed the poor on a common platform in an organized manner .
¤ 3. Food from weddings and parties were generously donated to our fridges.
¤ 4  Rules and regulations to start a food bank were formulated much after we started the program.
I remember approaching the authorities for a Food Bank License in July 2017 and they promised to  get back which they did much much later.
With inflation at all time high, prices of even essential items skyrocketing and poverty levels growing by leaps and bounds, the poor are desperately looking for food for themselves and their families.
The silver lining to this gloomy reality is that there is enough of excess food to  donate to food banks and feed all the hungry people if the powers that be support and help to make this dream a reality.
The fright of food poisoning once sorted out by the Government will open up this free service across India to thousands if not lakhs of poor people who might just get one nutritious meal because of FOOD BANKS .
The Central Government could offer incentives to those donating food to food banks as a motivating factor to get them  involved and active .
FMCG distributors and Sales Representatives could  be encouraged  not to destroy packaged food expiring within a few days before expiry , but instead to hand over  food items to Food banks to feed the poor .
STREET PROVIDENCE is here in Goa
with  close to 5 years of experience,
ready infrastructure,  volunteers,  and database of hundreds of poor people in need of food.
We need the support of The Central Government of India to enable and strengthen all Food Banks through its various schemes .
Before I end,  I wish to express my  deepest gratitude ,sincere and heartfelt thanks to each and every volunteer who assisted me in my dream of starting Goa's 1st Food bank Program —'– ” GOD BLESS YOU & YOUR FAMILY “.
Food Bank for The Poor , would not be a success  without your assistance and cooperation.
Some day , hoping to work with all our old volunteers like before as we restart each and every Food Freezer and provide fresh food to every hungry person in Goa.

FR ARLINO de MELLO, REACHED OUT AND ATTENDED TO HIS PARISHIONER. MR. AGNEL FERNANDES IS A RESIDENT OF ST. FRANCIS VADDO, COLVALE

17.1.2022  7pm IST
Just like a Shepherd tends to his flock , in the real life The Shepherd ( Parish Priest ) of CHURCH OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI, Colvale ,
Fr Arlino de Mello , reached out and attended to his parishioner.
Please do check out this short  video made by us  -👇 https://youtu.be/61HgQNYhwVk
Mr Agnel Fernandes is a resident of St Francis Vaddo , Colvale is totally weak and
under nourished.
No family members , Alcohol and poverty coupled with the lockdown and many other issues may have put him in a corner where his plight was unbearable to his neighbor , Mr Jose Pereira .
Mr Jose Pereira has been providing all possible help to his neighbor Mr Agnel over a period of time and he understands that Agnel requires a home on a long-term basis to stabilize.
This is where Fr Arlino , as the Shepherd , steps in after Mr Jose Pereira brings it to Father's notice .
Fr Arlino visits Agnel on the same day of being informed and is moved by his plight .
Fr Arlino has recently been transfered to Colvale Parish in July 2021 from Aldona Parish .
My acquaintance with Fr Arlino goes back two years , when Late  Francis Lobo , who we had picked up from Mumbai had expired and since he was from Aldona , Fr Arlino gave us good support with his funeral and burial in Aldona Cemetry without any hassle.
Fr Arlino called me 4 days back and explained me how Mr Agnel requires help ASAP.
Our team went the next day to investigate and we agreed to take him in .
Fr Arlino got Mr Jose Peteira & his son to organize the paperwork.
Thanks to Colvale Inspector Mr Somnath for getting his team to  verify that Agnel needs rehabilitation.
Today we admitted Mr Agnel into our shelter home.
I appreciate the  effort taken by Fr Arlino to make that initial call .
Fr could have Said to himself  ”  Why get involved ?, I am just come , let the neighbour do the needful “.
One phone call was all that made the difference .
If any one knows more about Mr Agnel and his family incase he has one do let me know thru whatsapp only.
We are there in Goa , for the old , infirmed, lonely, abandoned, homeless street people , any one who requires a hand to start afresh irrespective of Caste, creed or religion .
If you know such goan men ( on priority basis) living a sorry life , alone and abandoned,  then you too can play your part .
Get in touch with me through whatsapp on 8380097564 and follow instructions.
We will do the rest.
Help will be provided for sure provided you do your part.
We have our biggest home ready and it can accommodate another 75 such men who actually have no place to go and no one might want to take them in .
We require your support and help to reach out to them who are HELPLESS & homeless.
Support us in whatever way you can through our NGO.
We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.

ARE BACK AFTER A SHORT BREAK , PICKING AND ACCEPTING HOMELESS STREET PEOPLE

13.1.2022  8pm IST
With the 3rd wave looming around , the homeless and marginalized will be hit the most .
Add to the 3rd Wave , most of the Police Stations across the big cities in Goa have new Inspectors , who might not have the time and interest in getting the homeless of the streets as they need time to settle down with elections around the corner.
But we at Street Providence are back after a short break , picking and accepting homeless street people from government hospitals.
Today we accepted two very feeble and malnourished men .
☆ Case 1
Sadhashiv was picked from Chicalim Health centre.
Very weak and malnourished , with no control over his movements , so wears a pamper .
Dr Anil , Incharge of CHC was kind enough to inform us that Sadhashiv requires a home to recover his strength.
Douglas and his team drove to Chicalim and picked this man and admitted him into our home this evening .
☆ Case 2
A homeless man Mr Shyam, was admitted a few days back into the District Hospital Mapusa by the local police.
Old , weak , feeble , does not speak clearly so can't understand much .
Dr Rylind informs the ward Bro/ nurse Mr Rajan to inform us which he did.
Took us a few days to get him into our home due to some paper work.
This evening Sudarshan picked him and admitted him into our home .
Looks weak and malnourished with some walking issues .
This is how we have started this NEW YEAR .
This is our Hospital service , where we just don't visit the hospitalized but see that we can get them a home to stay & make them stand back on their feet and we care & look after such abandoned poor people , Free of cost .
We have no full time nurses , doctors, or high funda homes or fancy infrastructure but we have some highly dedicated & committed manpower and care givers who themselves were one day in such a state.
Daily we drive the sick and those in need of medication to the government hospitals and that is one separate team doing only this work .
Fuel Costs a bomb daily .
INTEGRATION is the key to REHABILITATION of the homeless people in today's time where,  manpower costs a bomb and only those who can afford, can get a bed in a home .
We have increased our capacity in the men's section and we can take in another 80 such homeless men.
This New Year, our focus will be on hospitals where there just might be a lost soul waiting for a hand to cling on to start life .
It's cold and freezing out there on the streets of Goa and the 3rd wave is raging .
I feel upset but yet we all have to take care .
If you see anyone on the streets of Goa , please stop by and help.
Go to the nearest police station and complain and see that the homeless is helped.

STREET PROVIDENCE GOA LAUNCHES OUR 1st KNOWLEDGE BANK ( LIBRARY , WHERE ONE DROP AND PICK BOOKS )

12.1.2022. 7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA launches our 1st KNOWLEDGE BANK ( library , Where one drop and pick books ) at Chogm Road , Sangolda, Goa.
Today we installed and inaugurated one of its kind in Goa , on a trial basis , a cupboard where one can drop books , novels etc or one can pick something to read from this cupboard.
BORROW , READ , RETURN
♡♡ Thanks to BOOKWORM library,  from Panjim who have supported this unique idea of trying to create a reading habit in Goa .
♡♡ Mr Oscar Braganza , Founder Trustee of BookWorm , was kind enough to cut the ribbon today and share his views on how this project at grass root level can reignite the passion for reading especially for children.
Also present was Mr Frederick Noronha ( RICO ) from Saligao who himself being a writer and a book lover, is a good friend of mine for over 3 decades.
Attached a 3 min video of their views and how they feel this project can be taken forward. 👇

We @  Street Providence are looking to install many such cupboards across Goa to encourage the reading habit .
We will provide the Cupboard and the books .
We are not paying any rent or any other charges.
This Cupboard is open 9 am to 6 pm daily .
Please don't donate more than 3 books per time as the Cupboard is small and we are very new to such a project .
Understand that we might have alot of books at our homes but this is not that last stop to get rid of all books at one time .
If you can come with your books with an appointment it will be really wonderful by whatsapp me on 8380097564.
♡♡ Thanks to the Village Panchayat Sangolda and my ward member for supporting this Cupboard as its for a social cause .
This project is primarily started to encourage all our 100 + homeless street people in our shelter homes who 80% are suffering from disabilities to read something or atleast turn the pages and refresh the mind .
I Being a Marketing student from X.I.M Mumbai in my younger days,  has started and will start many projects based on
BACKWARD & FORWARD INTEGRATION.
( those who studied marketing will know what INTEGRATION Is about ).
All our BANKS revolve around and support
OUR REHABILITATION HOMES and that's how we are able to cut costs and go beyond our capacity by providing :
▪︎Free food ( food bank )
▪︎Clothes ( clothes bank )
▪︎Medicines ( medicine bank )
▪︎Library ( knowledge bank )
▪︎Etc .
As we start this New Year , we will introducing about 14 more new projects at grass root level, trying to help the poor , needy,  homeless , disabled , abandoned , etc .
