FINALLY THE LADY IN THE RED SAREE LIVING FOR MONTHS ON THE STREETS HAS REACHED OUR SHELTER HOME

4.4.2023. 6pm IST
Finally The Lady In The Red Saree living for months on the streets , gardens, by lanes and sleeping on the stairs of Timothy Bldg. Near Lawande Electricals,  Luis Menezes Road, Panjim city has reached our shelter home today.
Herald newspaper & Herald TV early March 23 has highlighted this issue and it was disappointing that inspite of the media coverage she was still there, in panjim till this morning.
The below link was of her moving around on 1.3.2023 https://youtu.be/XwpDgR6ccmc
The red saree lady for years is sleeping under trees, 1st in siolim area and last few months in panjim city .
Lost her husband and I assume that has made her loose her mind . Got a son and a brother but both cant manage her due to her stubbornness in not taking medicines.
We tried few years back helping her but very rough and aggressive so we did not push it.
This is where I get upset over treatment to such poor homeless Goan ladies.
》1. We reported this lady to police & the press on 1.3.24  and SP North got her picked up and the cops took her to IPHB for a check up after the media highlighted the same .
》2. IPHB should have admitted her, but since the cops did not get the MAGISTRATE ORDER, she was given medication and the cops dropped her to her brother home.
》3. Next day back on the streets. Which I had predicted knowing the situations of such chronic patients .
》4. I called and followed up with Anjuna police who brought her brother & son to the station and both concluded that its just next to impossible to keep her at home but they gave the cops their affidavit that she can be admitted in street Providence shelter home, this was say by 12th March 2023.
》5. Last few days panjim police have been trying to locate her as well as our team tried & many locals were to locate her but some how WE ARE
ALL TO OCCUPIED and she just stayed on the streets.
》6. Society in that area expects the NGO to pick her up , NGO expects the society to show her location and Police are occupied with more important jobs. ( We including myself fail such homeless abandoned Street women).
》7. In the meantime we informed both PANJIM & ANJUNA police stations that incase they spot the lady please pick her up and call us.
》8. Today at 1 pm , Mr Alauddin Khan , PSI  was informed by the cops that the red saree lady is in a different colored Saree and immediately he got the cops to pick her up from the Mermaid Garden.
》9. We admitted her into our shelter home and tomorrow morning will be taken to IPHB for am assessment and she has to be admitted for a few days into IPHB otherwise it's going to be really difficult to handle her.
As I write this post it's 8.20 pm , and already the lady is making life in our women shelter home a little difficult infact we had to get the lady cops from Calangute police station to visit our Home at 6pm which they obliged.
What could have been done one month back ay IPHB will be done tomorrow.
PLEASE SAY ONE SMALL PRAYER THAT THE CONSULTANT DOCTOR @ IPHB tomorrow admits this red saree lady else there will be major issues and we night Even have to send her back to the streets, as she is beyond our control.
Its a real difficult issue that both POLICE & OUR NGO faces at times IN IPHB to admitt such highly chronic people suffering from mental disabilities.
Police at time just don't feel or don't get the time to go through the process of getting the MAGISTRATE ORDER due to this process being an 6 to 8 hours ordeal and 1 car and 4 staff are required .
Some times DOCTOR consultants at IPHB refuse to even listen to our requests to admitt such chronic cases even though they know that these cases require admission and treatment before admitting into our homes.
The LAWS are such that without either using political pressure, begging at the CONSULTANT DOCTORS or even at times getting upset and loosing my cool, these admissions are not happening.
We have been hearing this Lady SILENT CRIES on the STREETS last 1 month and quite often I would check with the Panjim cops or I would send our team afternoon time for a round to see if we could find her.
I don't give up that easily as each life counts and these type of people are badly in need of help and a permanent shelter as medications is life long.
She is totally under nourished and under weight with all her troubles on her mind.
God only knows how much of trouble she must have gone through over the last few years, the pains of being a widow, being rejected, lonely, abused and unwanted.
But thats all the past as she will now be treated,  medicine will be administered and she will be rehabilitated in a home with other ladies for company with food clothing & shelter.
And this services are all free for the poorest of the poor and the homeless people suffering from mental disabilities.
Please do support us as we take in more and more of such abandoned homeless goan people daily .
God bless you so much

OPENS OUR DOORS EVEN THOUGH IT’S LATE NIGHT TO TAKE IN THIS HOMELESS OLD BEATEN AND HAMMERED LADY.

3.4.2023. 10pm IST
Our shelter home opens our doors even though it's late night to take in this homeless old beaten and hammered lady.
Goa Police @ Panjim police station does a quick and fast response to this old battered and hammered old lady living on the beach / streets of Miramar and gets her off her troubles to our shelter home.
Non goan ELDERLY lady and was forced to beg on the streets of Miramar and may be even staying right on the beach / streets and son might/ could be beating her up to get money.
Panjim Police did a good and quick job of getting this fragile and terribly beaten up elderly lady of the streets/ Beach today evening.
Picked her up say between 5 to 6 pm, recorded her statement in station, medical done and dropped to our shelter home by 9 to 10 pm.
Lady terribly old, fragile, weak, stressed and
dis oriented due to the beating and harassment.
Most of our inmates in all our women's shelter homes are like this old lady – homeless, beaten up , abandoned, exploited due to illiteracy and no one usually to shown care & Concern for them.
I have never ever seen any activists taking up these issues of homeless women on the streets and making videos and press conferences as to why and what can be done to help such homeless old beaten up street women.
Why ?
Is it because they are not worthy to be spoken about ?
Or is it okay for SHELTER HOMES to just take them in ?
Or is it because they are poor,  weak , penniless so nothing can be expected from them ?
Today there are close to a few hundreds of such ladies on the streets. roads. Gardens,  bus stop , beach side , etc. .
It's sad, upsetting and a never ending story.
But who cares and who is bothered  ?
We as an Educated Society ( all of us including me ) are failing this weakest section of Society and its the duty and responsibility of all WOMEN ACTIVISTS to see that DAILY such abandoned women are picked up from their misery and put either in shelter homes or are sent back to their families.
We don't just find fault and condemn the government & the women and child department but we started 4  homes in just a 5 years of our existence and we take support of the various government departments when we HEAR THE CRIES of SUCH WOMEN IN DISTRESS.
We do the work ourselves.
This elderly women is going to take time to stabilize as she is totally bruised both in body and In mind.
If you recognise her or her family let me know .
If you see such old abandoned ladies in Goa living on the streets and road sides please do call the local police 1st .
God bless you so much

REHABILITATING HOMELESS STREET PEOPLE IS NOT EASY SERVICE BUT WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE GOVERNMENT IT’S A WELCOME SIGN AND A BLESSING.

1.4.2023. 7pm IST
Rehabilitating homeless street people where most of them are sick and suffering from mental & physical disabilities is not easy service but with the support of the GOVERNMENT its a welcome sign and a blessing.
What started as an small service in 2017 has translated into something unbelievable yet possible.
Government is giving grants, only thing is
” one needs to do the actual work on the ground”
It's not big money but any grant from any government is a welcome sign of support from the Government to the NGO.
When any Government department supports any NGO especially by way of Grant's year after year, one needs to  highlight the same as the Department too needs to be appreciated.
Usually many many organisation's mumble and grumble that Government is not releasing funds or grants in time.
But at Street Providence it's different.
We go through serious issues at times in various government departments but then that's part and parcel of the NGO to overcome the hurdles and focus on getting the grants/ funds.
Consistency in the work on the field, non stop follow up and huge paperwork is the key to getting the funds and grants from any government department.
♡♡♡ We thank WOMEN & CHILD DEPARTMENT for releasing our grants / orders to one of the four  women homes we run  @ Calangute, consistently last 4 years upto 31.3.2023 .
For the year ended 31.3.2023 , we have another 3 women shelter homes and our grants will be released in this accounting year 23-24.
Of these 3 homes :
One Home Grant due is for 21-22 & 22-23
Other two homes the grants are for 22-23

During the year 22-23 we applied to the Social Welfare Department to Start 2 Physiotherapy centre's for the 125 + homeless Persons with Disabilities @ our NGO , one in North Goa & one in South Goa.
Our North Goa grant was approved within a quick period of time.
Civil Supplies Department started giving our NGO 265 kgs free rice for 53 homeless people @ 5 kgs each per month from 1.3 2023 and this is going to be every month.
At Street Providence we too understand various government departments issues and we try our best to see how we can address their issues.
We understood the issues faced at the central Jail Colvale and we got BENEFACTORS to donate A water dispenser & A second hand automatic chapati machine which makes 900 chapatis an hour through our NGO.
Goa Police, the 1st line of direct contact with the homeless street people,  which we thank them for for ATLEAST trying to get the genuine homeless street people off the streets , as a small gesture,  we got sponsors for 2 brand new Xerox machines and we also got a sponsor who gave away 135 bundles of xerox paper reels / bundles specifically for all the 26 police stations in Goa
We brought cheer to 3 government primary Schools in rural Goa by installing water purifiers.
We are not just takers but also givers.
( Attached 2 excel sheets )
Homelessness is an issue which all government department will not want to discuss and accept, but we @ Street Providence have to go on hitting the nail on the head in all government departments reminding them continuously that our NGO is working towards the rehabilitation & welfare of the homeless & the poor goans suffering from disabilities ” so please help and support us “.
I end this post with Special thanks to 2 powerful government officials, simple yet approachable men having understanding & compassion to our work.
♡♡ 1st Mr Arun Kumar Mishra , IAS , Secretary Women & Child Department, Government of Goa.
♡♡ 2nd Mr Subhash Faldesai, Minister of Social Welfare, Government of Goa.
Those reading this post might conclude that our NGO is getting alot of grants from the Government.
In reality the grant given to us is designed and calculated many years back say in 2006 when the cost of rehabilitation of the homeless was affordable and today in 2023 the inflation has doubled and tripled.
But like I said earlier in the post ” getting government grants/ funds/ support is always a good sign that Government is supporting the homeless through the NGO “.
Well with the grants received we keep adding more homes and more projects towards Rehabilitating more homeless and poor goans with disabilites on the streets of Goa.
These are the homeless we rehabilitated :
》For the year ended 21-22, we had 100 +
》For the year ended 22-23 , we had 165 +
》For the coming year 23 -24 , we will have 200 + to 225 +
The main issue is inflation and price rise which is the most troublesome issue today at our NGO and constant funding daily is the only solution to rehabilitating the homeless street people and poor goans with disabilites coupled with grants from the Government.
God bless you all

THANKS ALL OUR ESTEEMED BENEFACTORS WHO HAVE STOOD WITH US DURING THIS ENTIRE ACCOUNTING YEAR

31.3.2023. 7,pm IST
A small NGO taking care of poor homeless people with mental disabilites spends a WHOPPING Rs 14 lacs a year on diagnostics/ medical costs , hospitalization and transportation from all our 8 shelter homes across Goa to IPHB & other Government hospitals.
As we end this finacial year today, Street Providence Goa thanks all our ESTEEMED BENEFACTORS who have stood with us during this entire accounting year and I am assured of all our benefactors support in the coming financial year.
Our main service @ Street Providence is caring for the homeless street people and poor goan people suffering from mental disabilities as well as physical disabilities.
In our Shelter Homes we have women & men  suffering from :
☆ 1. Severe Depression
☆ 2. Bipolar Disorder,
☆ 3. Paranoid & exteme Schizophrenia
☆ 4. Eating disorders
☆ 5. Disruptive behaviour and dissocial disorders    AND
☆ 6. Neuro developmental disorders. Etc
And the most challenging & difficult part in the shelter homes is keeping the 165 + inmates fit and healthy , especially in the mind .
With over 125 + inmates suffering from major mental disabilities it's always a challenge to keep peace , law & order and everyone happy all the time in all 8 shelter homes in Goa.
Alot of people genuinely ask me and alot of benefactors must be always thinking ” how do we manage to run these shelter homes for the poor homeless and poor goan people suffering from mental disabilities ?”
I
Usually psychiatric homes are run by professional doctors & Psychiatrist but @ our NGO we DARE TO DREAM as non of our staff and our trustees are doctors or Psychiatrist but yet we are doing the service FREE OF COST for the 5th year and running.
I can humbly claim ” looking after & rehabilitating people with disabilites especially mental disabilities is a CALLING & an GIFT “.
It's an ART, where we have learnt in taking care of more than 125 + pchyistric patients and all our care givers and staff do their job with love & compassion.
Once you learn the ART & master the ART, caring for people with mental disabilities is VERY EASY.
Three main points we follow at our homes : Systematic admission of daily medication, proper assessment ,
timely follow up at the psychiatric hospital.
These 3 points done faithfully day after day is what makes our NGO year after year increase the intake of homeless people and poor goans suffering from disabilities.
Last year end 31.3.2022  we had about 100+ psychiatric homeless & poor goan people suffering from mental disabilities and we spent RS 7 LACS only on diagnostics / medical costs, hospitalization & transportation from all our 6 homes at that time to the IPHB & other Government hospitals.
This year end 31.3.2023 , we have close to 165 + homeless and poor goans suffering from mental & physical disabilities and we spent Rs 14 lacs+ only on their medications, hospitalization & transportation.
Attached 2 charts of 21-22 & 22-23
Coming March 2024 we might be adding another 50 to 75 such patients as mental disabilities is rising both on the streets & among the poor goan people.
♡♡♡ We thank all at IPHB especially the : 6 consultant Doctors ( voldo dotor )
Numerous senior & junior doctors ,
Nurses and hospital staff
Without whose support & guidance we would never ever be able to provide care and rehabilitation to so many homeless people and poor goans suffering from mental disabilities.
♡♡♡ We also thank the entire set up @ DHS ie
North Goa & South Goa, District hospitals for all the services and admissions done whenever required without our NGO keeping an attendant.
♡♡♡ To all the Doctors & nurses at GMC , we feel happy that all our requests for admissions, treatment & operations are done without we being harrased to keep an attendant.
Both IPHB & DHS provide free medication but at times due to non availability of certain drugs we are forced to buy fron outside.

All these are not given FREE in any Government hospitals and some of the above are quite expensive.
Diapers are a huge cost to our NGO as you don't get free in any Government hospital and we have close to 17 to 22 physically disabled men & women on diapers.
Thank God , generic medicine is available otherwise our medicine bill @ allopathic pharmacies is a big kill.
To our medical benefactors especially one from panjim & one company from Vasco who for the last 5 years month after month send rs 3000 & rs 5000 worth of medicines based on our requirements. THANK YOU. This itself adds to Rs 1 lac a year
To all those benefactors who month after month buy and give us adult diapers.  it's a big big thank you . This is another Rs 60000 a year.
To all our loving and compassionate BENEFACTORS who we THANK on this post, this is how we utilize part of the donations you send us month after month.
Our BENEFACTORS are supporting our NGO in  fighting a battle against ever increasing homelessness & mental disabilities among the poorest of the poor in Goa.
Please do support our NGO from 1.4.2023 through your prayers , blessings, donations or even by forwarding our messages to atleast 10 of your contacts daily.

A DRUNKARD ONCE UPON A TIME IN HIS LIFE TO NOW A COOK & TOTAL TEETOTALAR

30.3.2023. 5pm IST
A DRUNKARD once upon a time in his life to now A COOK & total Teetotalar.
Once upon a time this Goan elderly man was abandoned and totally helpless, today a No 1 Cook in our shelter Home but on medication which Needs to be administered on time.
( Short video attached  )👇👇
Street Providence Goa not only takes in helpless, old, elderly, abandoned & homeless people with disabilites but we make them get their life back to an extent they are now ready to help the others who are helpless
Agnel is unmarried and was living alone in his small house @ Colvale in miserable conditions and was totally weak and sick & an alcoholic.
Neighbour's would give him food and most of the basic amenities were missing in his house .
The Parish priest of Colvale church Fr Arlino helped him by bringing him to my notice for rehabilitation permanently.
We took Agnel in Jan 22 and he was a very very stubborn and irritating man who refused to stay and one day he slipped out of the home , slid down from the 2nd floor on to a coconut tree and walked away. ( picture attached )
Believe me , last year , Agnel was very weak and with a walking stick he would move around but how he slid down that coconut tree is very strange.
We found him soon.
( Picture of the tree & the 2nd floor attached  )
Diabetics, pressure,  alcohol withdrawal, wounds on his leg was his medical condition.
Most of all HE WAS VERY WEAK .
All our CARE GIVERS are trained to tolerate such men as its only LOVE & HUMAN CARE which eventually breaks down such men.
Mr Akash Pednekar our care giver at Quepem home admitted him atleast 10 times in District hospital margao mostly at night just to stabilize him which was very irritating and troublesome as he just refused to listen.
Some where in October 22 , Agnel started falling in line as he now understood that Street Providence is his permanent home.
Agnel understood that inspite of all his troubles and tantrums, Akash still cared and loves him just like a son loves his father.
AKASH PEDNEKAR LOVE & PATIENCE paid off.
Slowly Agnel started working in the house and his diabetics & pressure was getting under control.
His weight increased.  Hospital admissions were a thing of the past.
AGNEL FOUND PEACE WITH HIMSELF & that is OUR SUCCESS in our REHABILITATION HOME.
Today we have an Extra Cook who can cook for 30 men  in our shelter home and Agnel is alive and active and Cooks at our Cavelossim men home.
Each elderly man in our shelter home standing. WALKING & working means less pressure on the care givers otherwise they end up with Pampers and get wounds and bed bound.
Agnel today does alot of work for his age in the home and he is an inspiration to the other elderly men.
It's next to impossible for me to believe last January 22 when we took Agnel in that he would be ever Normal and totally active in life again.
It was a difficult case on the day of the admission but we could not say NO as AGNEL was in a very pathetic and unhealthy condition.
Agnel needed a hand and we are proud to have helped him that day on 7.1.2022.
♡♡♡ All thanks and appreciation goes to Mr Akash Pednekar our care giver at Quepem home who inspite of working 8 hours a day  in the Electricity Department is practically 15 hours a day after his shift in this shelter home where he physically stays day and night with these homeless men numbering at times 40 to 50.
Akash Pednekar works also in shifts at the Electricity Department.
It gives us all happiness & satisfaction to see such recoveries taking place month after month,  year after year in all our mens shelter homes.
♡♡♡ We thank all our trustees, staff , Government officials,  volunteers, BENEFACTORS. philanthropic partners and well wishers who some way along this journey of mine has blessed us in this service to the homeless.
We are not just a rehabilitation Home but we are a de addiction centre for alcoholic & drug abuse as well as a registered care centre with the Social Welfare Department Panjim for the poor goan people suffering from severe mental disabilities & all tyoes of physical disabilities for both men & women.
God bless you so much

HEARS THE SILENT CRIES OF THIS LOST & HOMELESS ABANDONED LADY ( MIGHT BE SUFFERING FROM MENTAL DISABILITIES)

29.3.2023. 7Pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA HEARS the SILENT CRIES of this lost & homeless abandoned lady ( might be suffering from mental disabilities) and we open our shelter doors at 11.30 pm last night.
Quick response and good service from Goa Police @ Quepem Police Station, all within 4 hours flat, which resulted in this homeless lady getting off the streets of Quepem and into our home.
Lady is totally disoriented and not having much control over her mind as she keeps speaking different things when asked the same question.
No identity, no phone or no any papers with her to understand where and who she is .
Tomorrow morning will be taken to IPHB for an assessment.
Incase any one from QUEPEM / CURCHOREM seen her or know her please let us know.
Usually all are shelter homes and most other shelter homes wind up and lights off by 9.30 pm max 10 pm .
But we @ Street Providence especially the women's shelter home @ Cavelossim always gets requests after 11.30 pm and Sr Mariya our incharge is always enthusiastic to break her sleep,  open the doors and receive such homeless and abandoned Street women.
All our shelter homes accepts homeless people especially brought by the Police 24 *7 , timing not an issue and we understand that inspite of breaking our sleep we are much more comfortable in our Homes in our cozy beds and it's our commitment to open our shelter doors to such requests.
Infact I too stay awake whenever there is an admission late night as all our homes are on CCTV and I monitor each such late night admission on my phone which has close to 120 CCTVs running continously on my phone.
Just like the care giver breaks the sleep to admitt an admission I too break my sleep as that's my job to see that everything goes to the plan and there are no issues.
Our 8 homes have almost 120 cameras operating and that's how we keep track of the activities in the homes daily.
If you see such homeless people especially women on the streets please go to the nearest police station and meet the cops.
We are having Homes for both ladies & gents
We are in North & South Goa.
Tomorrow we have a hectic day , as we take in 4 homeless men from a government hospital.
Being close to the end of third financial year as well as we approach the last few days of LENT  we request you to support our work especially our rehabilitation of the homeless street people.
We offer you Income tax exemption under section 80G on your donations.
God bless you so much

A YOUNG 23 YEARS OLD GOAN BOY SUFFERING FROM MENTAL DISABILITIES HAVING NO ONE, BEATEN UP ON THE STREETS , ADMITTED INTO OUR HOME.

22.3.2023. 11am IST
A young 23 years old Goan boy suffering from mental disabilities having no one and refused admission into the hospital because of no attendant, beaten up on the streets somewhere in the coastal areas due to his own fault , admitted into our home today.
Today is Gudi Padwa which signifies the start of the traditional The Hindu New Year and this young goan boy got second chance of life on this GUDI PADWA day .
Time and time again I am saying ” poor goan people & street people witn mental disabilities are not treated & admitted at the hospital as they are not having any attendant to stay with them “.
Infact I have attached a link of my journey in rehabilitating poor people with mental disabilities and the challenges faced and what I have written in this post is what I have shared in the 30 min documentary video 👇👇
This goan young boy stays in a village and has totally lost his mind and as such is troubling the locality as he is not taking his medication as he has no one.
Friends/ Villages got together and took him to IPHB but was given medication and refused admission as there was no attendant to stay with him.
I can surely say that the local police too must be aware of this matter but since he has no one , once treated at iphb he will again be on the roads so why waste time getting a MAGISTRATE ORDER.
Since refused admission the friends came back and the boy walked from IPHB to St Cruz and by that time he started acting weird which I can say looking at his back that he was beaten up badly.
Whoever did this may not be aware he is going through mental issues.
After the beating he got he was sitting quietly till SHAWN observed him and got to the bottom of the issue.
It was say 9 pm who called me . I advised SHAWN to call the cops.
Shawn called the cops but they did not turn up for over two hours as they were understaffed and they had other important issues at hand.
Finally I sent Shawn , the no of SP north Goa and police arrived.
Now police should have done a medical and got him either to our home or admitted to either IPHB or GMC.
At 2 am early morning they asked Shawn to take him to my home which is not right.
Since it's 2 am, Shawn dropped him at GMC assuming he would get treatment for his marks on his back and would pick him in the morning at 8 am & bring him to our shelter home.
But 8 am again this boy went missing and for two full days SHAWN and his friends searched in many many places till they found him.
Finally this morning of Gudi Padwa we accepted this young goan boy into our Home and got him to the IPHB for an assessment which they have prescribed more than 6 psychiatric tablets to be given to him.
Imagine the humiliation , rejection, Hurts , abuses, insults, torture and everyday begging for food to survive.
Father is dead, younger sibling in the hostel,  Other brother missing for months , mother is working out of Goa to feed the family and this boy has been hamnering the mother due to his mental disabilities.
I have complained to DISABILITY COMMISSIONER that these issues need to be sorted out quickly and we need a permanent solution to the problem of the poor goan people and the homeless people suffering from mental disabilities not getting treatment & admission into the IPHB.
It's a losing battle for such poor goan people suffering from mental disabilities if there are not admitted into MID WAY / HALF WAY homes which Is the only suitable place for such fully troubled persons with chronic mental disabilities either due to generic or due to alcohol and drug abuse.
Just few days back we read about a few cars , bikes set on fire by a senior citizen lady from Corjuem, suffering from mental disabilities now admitted into IPHB.
This lady we tried helping to rehabilitate way back in early 2019 but she refused help today it will be a chronic situation of disabilty .
We provide free rehabilitation to any one who is poor and having no one and we provide free food clothing stay & medication to such people suffering from all types of disabilities but it's FREE only if the person is actually homeless and having no one.
Your support is required to fight this long losing battle of homelessness & poor goans on the streets suffering from severe mental disabilities.
God bless you so much

11 GOA POLICE STATIONS ACCEPT CLOSE TO 50000 KGS OF FOOD TO FEED THE HUNGRY IN GOA IN 1 YEAR.

22.3.2023. 10am IST
11 Goa Police stations accept close to 50000 kgs of food to feed the hungry in Goa in 1 year.
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR SANGOLDA GOA thanks Goa Police as a department for opening up their premises and allowing food bank fridges to be installed in their stations so that excess food can be deposited in these fridge to feed the poor.
February 2022 to January 2023 we have installed fridges at 11 Police Station in Goa.
We also have 14 fridges in other places to accept food .
And during these last 12 months all these 11 Police stations have got close to 50 tonnes or 50000 kgs of good food saved which otherwise would have been wasted and thrown out.
We have fridges installed at these stations
☆ North Goa :
Calangute, Panjim , Mapusa , Anjuna

☆ South Goa :
Colva , Margao , Fatorda , Cuncolim , Sanguem & Quepem , Verna.
The best performing police stations for accepting extra cooked food daily is :
Panjim & Mapusa
Both being big cities and togther these two fridges daily give us an average of 70 to 100 kgs.
Running shelter Homes for the homeless is not a easy task as Food costs are huge and expensive.
The Food bank fridges was a good way to bring down the costs of food for the rehabilitation homes we run and that's how our NGO has managed to sustain the shelter homes last 5 years.
If you Google, Food bank fridges in police stations in India , you will only find the answer GOA.
Today the police personnel at these 11 police stations can use these fridges to also store their water bottles and have cool chilled water during the summer days.
Our NGO has always worked closely with the Goa Police in accepting homeless people 24*7 last 5 years and its that goodwill generated that you will find FOOD BANK FRIDGES in POLICE STATIONS only in Goa.
We will be now taking this CONCEPT across other states of India as we are starting shelter homes for the homeless & persons witn disabilities in many states for the poorest of the poor.
Prior to these food bank fridges being installed in Police Stations,  we had installed Free water purifiers in all the 25 police stations as a small gesture to the welfare of the police Personal as well as the public who visit the stations.
And i were criticized and ridiculed.
And i took this criticism positively as I had a long term plan for the homeless In Goa.
Over the last few years, we have given away
》 5 second hand air conditioners , 3 new Photo copying machines,  6 new printers , and many other items for the welfare of the police stations and the police personnel say total costing on the whole Rs 3 lacs.
In one police station we even got our homeless men to build and renovate toilets for the police.
Today just calculate for a year how these same Goa Police contributed back to our NGO :
◇ 50000 kgs food @ rs 200 kg = Rs 10000000
Rs 1 crore.
Daily to feed 1 person in the shelter home costs minimum rs 150 per day.
On an average last year we had 150 inmates.
To feed these 150 inmates this is the cost:
◇ 150 nos *rs 150 *30 days *12 months = Rs 8200000 ( Rs 81 lacs )
Plus the daily extra cooked good food which is collected in all fridges after we send to our homes is given away to feed the homeless In other parts of Goa.
But inspite of that good rapport we have with the Goa Police , yet I am disappointed with the homeless issues going on the streets of Goa and the Goa Police needs to be more supportive towards getting these homeless off the streets and to our shelter homes.
Once again I thank Goa Police as a Department for supporting our NGO especially by allowing food bank fridges to be installed in their premises.
The most wonderful part of this food fridges in police stations is this :
1st fridge installed in Quepem Police Station
Till date hardly any food deposited here.
I am yet to personally meet Mr Pednekar , the PI,
But because of this fridge other fridges were set up .
If you have extra food please pack it up in food grade plastic bags or silver foils and drop it in the fridges at the police stations.
God bless you so much
