THIS MIDDLE AGED POOR 6Goan 55 YEAR OLD 6man MR. DEVENDRA HAS BEEN PROVIDED A WARM PLACE TO LAY HIS HEAD

23.3.2024. 8pm IST
This middle aged poor Goan 55 year old man,
Mr DEVENDRA , today ie 23.3.3024 , has been provided a warm place to lay his head, warm food , human beings around him and many living souls who he can talk to daily @ Street Providence Goa.
Looks to me that he might be suffering  from mild or initial Intellectual disabilities.
He has a married sister in the neighboring village and she too is poor and volunteered to keep him in our home.
About his house his married sister will know best as I an told that house is on the verge of falling down & Mr Devendra Can't stay alone even in the future.
Colage of the house attached with this post.
Few days back SSVP members of UCCASIAM church, Bardez , informed me through whatsapp about the horrible living condition of this lonely goan man in a nearby shackled Down house.
It's totally uninhabitable and very very dangerous as it can collapse any time.
SSVP has been providing for his upkeep over a period of time, may be years , but it's not safe for him to live in this home any more.
Beginning of this week , two Hindus Ramesh Bhovi & Chandrakant Pednekar, uploaded a video of a poor goan catholic family from TUEM living in utter poverty and we responded quickly and provided help for this month with an assurance to help them evey month financially.
Now End of this week , the Catholics from UCCASSIAM church request us to help this Hindu man and we took him in and will care & rehabilitate him as he just is beyond poverty level
This is our GOA / GOEM.
Ethnic GOANS are made of this stuff where religion is secondary but humanity is primary.
We @ Street Providence run shelter Homes which cater and rehabilitate people of all faiths be it Catholic, Hindu , Muslim.
Our Staff consists of all faiths like Catholic, Hindus, Muslims & Sarna Dharma.
@ Street Providence it's humanity 1st.
I have been working in different states in INDIA , where everything is only about caste , creed & religion but in Goa its unique as our ethnic Goans are only brought up with one thinking ie
HUMANITY FIRST. ( GOENKARPONN) .
We need to see GOD in the poor, hungry , sick , homeless and when you see this you begin to feel that joy peace happiness.
As we go through this LENTEN season I feel we all need to understand the pain of the poor, hungry , the sick, the lonely, those with disabilities and not only focus on the rituals but by going out of the way to give life to others just like these SSVP members from UCCASSIAM church went out of their way to see that this man got a better standard of living.
We request you to be generous towards our NGO as our bills keep mounting daily, new admissions are practically happening weekly, most of the inmates are in need of constant medicines and continous follow ups at Government hospitals.
We as Goa's only free shelter homes both for men & women in North & South Goa are constantly opening our doors to our poor fellow goans who are suffering from poverty , hunger & disabilities.
Government of Goa , should realize that there are so many ethnic genuine goans who are struggling for two square meals and basic medical facilities and their needs should be addressed and looked into.
Since we are already doing this service which is actually the job of the government atleast give us our grants in time and with dignity.
I am warning The Government of Goa ” in the coming months and within the next two years , there will be 10000 to 20000 Poor ethnic goans getting to the streets due to many many reasons & 90 % will be living with mental disabilities.
It's time to address hunger & homelessness in Goa and put a plan of action to address this quietly but rising issue.
Denial is like sweeping this problem under the carpet but We@ Street Providence will keep addressing and solving these issues but will also will be highlitng these issues till the Government gets up and addresses these issues.
Ministers & Departments should not feel upset & disappointment at our constant exposure of  lack of approach & attitude that The Government of Goa is showing towards our own poor goans suffering from mental disabilities and hunger but should rather support us in our fight against hunger and homelessness.
If you are living in Goa and you come across such poor ethnic goans living either on streets in unhygienic conditions or living in dilapidated & abandoned houses or buildings or bus stops you Need to get help to such poor people.
Immediately contact the nearest police station and put pressure on them to get help to such people.
We @ Street Providence can be informed through whatsapp messages by sending pictures and videos of the person but we will only accept such persons through the local police stations.
We thank Inspector of Mapusa police station
Mr Nikhil and the entire team who assisted this man in getting a better life.
Also thanks to SSVP @ Uccassiam for going out of their way to help this man .

RECENTLY WE ADMITTED MR. JAY SHETYE A 48 YEAR OLD MAN INTO OUR STROKE RECOVERY UNIT

23.3.2024. 10 pm IST
Recently we admiited Mr Jay Shetye  a 48 year old man into our Stroke Recovery Unit as he  has suffered a terrible stroke on his entire left side ie both hand & leg and is homeless & he has no one here in Goa.
Lived and worked many years in Goa in the coastal area and being influenced by high life style refused to listen to his two elder married sisters who themselves are suffering from their own family issues.
About 3 weeks back I got a call from a goan doctor who works in the TB HOSPITAL Margao saying “homeless man with severe stroke is being shifted to our hospital from GMC , but he does not have TB , can u take him into your home “?
It's LENTEN SEASON & it's going to be EASTER soon & we have to be that LIGHT to people like JAY  else LENT will be only about Rituals.
It was and is going to be difficult to rehabilitate JAY as he is totally wheel bound on a pamper and incapicated but to say no was not possible.
Saying Yes has made things Challenging & expensive as one full-time care giver is required to look after and care for JAY.
Our Stroke recovery unit has already 8 such men and JAY will be the 9th person in this unit and non of these men can afford to pay their basic bills & all are wheel chair bound.
So basically our NGO foots all the bills and the grants for this home from Social Welfare Department is just Rs 2500 per person per month
If JAY had to live in a hospital imagine how much the Government would have to pay for his upkeep.
We @ Street Providence take in the most difficult, complicated & terrifying cases as that's what we are established for ” caring for the homeless “.
It will take 6 to 9 months to sort out & get JAY back to his feet,  off the wheel chair and off the pampers.
If you wish to help us with JAYs bills then please get in touch with is through whatsapp messages only on 8380097564.

STREET PROVIDENCE GOA RUNS NUMEROUS BANKS & WE ARE ADDING ANOTHER BANK ” DIAPERS BANK”

22.3.2024. 11am IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA runs numerous Banks & we are adding another bank ” DIAPERS BANK”.
The link attached will tell you all you need to know about our NGO.
We run :
☆ Food Bank
☆ Water Bank
☆ Clothes Bank
☆ Medicine Bank
☆ Education Bank
☆ Stroke recovery unit for the poor.
☆ Palliative care unit for poor bed ridden patients.
☆ Physiotherapy centre's for those with disabilities.
☆ Shelter Homes & now
☆ Diapers Bank.
We wish to start free dialysis units for those poor goans in need of dialysis and also suffering from disabilities.
All our banks / projects are connected to the poor homeless people and poor goan suffering fron all types of disabilities.
Our projects are all intertwined, complicated, expensive, difficult, hard work but its the need of the hour as alot of poor goans are turning homeless due to disabilities.
I had visualized many years ago :
◇ 1. FOOD BANKS to feed the poor
◇ 2. SHELTER HOMES to house the poor
◇ 3. MEDICINE BANK to care for the poor
◇ 4. CLOTHES BANK to cloth the poor
◇ 5. EDUCATION BANK to educate the poor
◇ etc
We are only NGO providing free in house Psychiatric care to the poor goan homeless people having an IPHB registration no.
As well as The only NGO providing free in house Physiotherapy care thru our Stroke recovery unit.
We launch today our DIAPERS BANK which will cover all unused items like :
》Diapers,
》Pampers ,
》Sanitary pads ,
》Under pads, etc.
We visualize a big demand for ONE
“in house dialysis center” for those poor goans who are suffering from chronic mental disabilities and who might not be able to be taken to a government hospital for regular dialysis.
We generally conclude and assume NGOs only make money through donations and just show off.
Well that's your views for those who think the above.
We as an NGO work loudly and boldly in areas most never ever thought off or will ever even venture into.
That's why you need to watch the video in the link above.
We depend alot on donations through well wishers , long time benefactors, friends, CSR through various companies as well as Government of Goa.
Our NGO is more of a service provider than a social media news provider.
We use alot of Social media platforms to promote our NGO , raise awareness about our work as well as to raise resources.
As an NGO we have always worked closely with alot of Government departments and we feel great that most of the time all government departments have supported us.
Yes last 3 months we are having issues with one or two departments but it's time that THE CM of GOA looks into our demands which are strictly benefitting the poor goans suffering from hunger, homelessness & mental disabilities.
At Street Providence it's always about TEAM WORK & its about our 60 + full time staff who take alot of effort to make good things happen daily.
I may be the founder , but it's always been the TEAM that does all the running and implementation right from the time I started.
We had a geeat team from Dec 2017 to March 2020 and then it disintegrated.
And then I built another bigger & better team from April 2020 till now March 2024 after learning from the previous set backs I faced.
We all have to acknowledge our weakness & mine short coming is – I am short tempered & hot headed but its again a fore sight that I had that ” All communications strictly through whatsapp messages which actually worked, works and will work to my benefit “.
It's never been easy for me to answer so many calls as most of the time the caller does not even know why they are calling or what they are looking for.
But once you type a message then the opposite side shows the seriousness in reaching out to me otherwise it's just waste of my precious time and my energy.
We DARE TO DREAM and we work with passion & commitment towards ENDING HUNGER AND HOMELESSNESS for those suffering from DISABILITIES.
All communications strictly through whatsapp messages only on 8380097564

ALL OUR LADY FRIENDS IN OUR 6 WOMEN SHELTER HOMES IN GOA WISHES THE HON CM OF GOA Dr PRAMOD SAWANT , GOOD HEALTH AND THE WISDOM OF GOD AS HE COMPLETES 5 FULL YEARS AS THE CHIEF MINISTER OF GOA

21.3.2024 11am IST
All our lady friends in our 6 women shelter homes in GOA , wish The Hon CM of GOA ,
Dr Pramod Sawant , good health and The Wisdom of God as Dr Pramod, completes 5 full years as The Chief Minister of Goa .
The Hon CM of Goa is beginning to understand the misery of our poor goans suffering from mental disabilities.
One thing which i need to highlight is ” our food bank installed 11 fridges in POLICE STATIONS in Goa to collect extra cooked food & The Hon CM did not create any hurdles till date , even though we did it on a personal basis with the local police inspector of each police station “.
Last 3 full months, We @ Street Providence have been troubling THE CM of GOA , about so many issues regarding our grants towards the shelter homes that we run in Goa.
And Dr Pramod Sawant has been patient & considerate to listen, hear , understand, instruct the official and get our grants released primarily from WCD dept.
Exactly In the last 3 months, we approached
The Hon CM thrice ie :
》A. Once at his official Bungalow and he gave us a patient hearing and even addressed the ladies who we took to his Bungalow as ” my sisters and mothers ” & also provided tea & snacks to all our lady friends who visited him that day.
The CM ” assured to release the funds allocated to the shelter Homes run by Street Providence “.
》B. Twice we met The Hon CM Of GOA in his office @ the Secretariat with The WCD officials ie  26th Dec 2023 & 12th March 2024.
Once both these meeting concluded:
☆After the 26th Dec 》 Rs 40 lacs grants released
☆ After the 12th Mar 》 Rs 10 lacs grants released.
Both these amounts look big but it's calculated @ Rs 2500 & @ Rs 5000 per lady per month right from 1.4.2021 onwards for different homes.
We feel sorry to have disturbed The CM again & again but without funds running shelter Homes is not easy.
We still have alot of issues to sort out primarily with WCD ie :
☆ 1. Difference of grants right up from 2019 – 2023
☆ 2. Difference of grants for 2023 – 2024 which has been assured by THE HON CM it will be paid.
☆ 3. Grants for 2024 – 2025 to be released in advance .
One thing I observed while sitting in front of The Hon CM of Goa for all 3 meetings :
◇ 1.The Hon CM was not keen to shut our homes,
◇ 2. The Hon CM was keen to help the poor ladies,
◇ 3. The Hon CM was listening patiently & attentively to all the issues and complaints we were raising against The WCD & government.
◇ 4. The Hon CM was considerate to these poor goan ladies suffering from mental disabilities & was surprised to hear that the grants were calculated in 2007 while we were in 2023-2024.
No one should conclude after reading this post that I am praising The Hon CM of Goa.
I am appreciating his commitment to releasing our old grants as always WCD officials were telling me ” Finance has sent the file back and always blaming the Finance dept “.
If we had not got an opportunity to meet
The Hon CM & place all facts and details of how The WCD dept is just making me dance for months, we would not have got a single Rupee as of today & I am sure today most our lady homes would have been closed down.
I always praise and thank publicly any official or Minister who is considerate & kind towards our shelter home program as most of our inmates are ethnic goans suffering from homelessness with mental disabilities.
But on the other hand I always criticize and highlight how Government officials are harassing me when I infact am doing the dirty work of the Government.
But in the future ie 1st April 2024 onwards if what has been promised by THE Hon CM of Goa
through The WCD departments of our pending grants as stated above in this post is not released , we will be again forced to hit the streets and even take the ladies back to The CM Bungalow or even close down the homes.
We firmly belive The Hon CM of Goa is aware of the ground reality of our poor goans turning homeless due to mental disabilities and The Hon CM will stand by his word given regarding grants pattern for 23-24 towards both departments ie Social Welfare dept & Women and Child dept.
As we conclude this post all I can say with gratitude is ” Dr Pramod Sawant thank you for all the help in the last 3 months “
But Dr Pramod Sawant please be more & more considerate towards our poor village goans suffering from mental & intellectual disabilities reaching the streets as the Government has no shelter homes of their own and what ever is running in the state is run by Street Providence.
The Hon CM Of GOA needs to instruct both
The Social Welfare Department and
The Women & Child Department to accept all further applications from Street Providence to start more homes as the no. of poor goans turning homeless due to mental disabilities is alarming.
Since Finance Department is under The Hon CM I request The Hon CM to instruct his department to release our funds as and when the bills are presented.
WE @ Street Providence Pray for The Hon CM of GOA good health, long life and The Wisdom of God to guide him as he continues his role as The CM of GOA with his due attention to poor goan people suffering from hunger , homelessness and acquiring so many different types of disabilities.
Please no negative comments on this post as I am not a member of any Political party as of date.

WE REACHES OUT TO THIS POOR ETHNIC VERY ELDERLY GOAN SENIOR CITIZEN MOTHER & HER ELDERLY SON SUFFERING FROM DISABILITIES @ TUEM GOA.

20.3.2024. 5pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE reaches out to this poor ethnic very elderly GOAN senior citizen mother & her elderly son suffering from disabilities @ TUEM GOA.⬇️ ( watch the link below)
https://youtu.be/JovDG0RAJEc?si=umIZI-MLEhQ826Heo.   ( we visited them on 18.3.24)
Sunday 17th March, Mr Ramesh Bhovi uploaded a video of this really poor Goan family asking for help from public towards this family.⬇️ ( watch the link below)
https://youtu.be/6jIrUrA4CQg?si=rolx7-TqQHvEbfkQ  ( this was uploaded on 17.3.24 )
Mr Chandrakant Pednekar r/o TUEM , Pernem is the Villager who has been instrumental in helping this elderly mother and her son with their paper work & he together with Ramesh made the video.
Monday 18th March i saw the video and along with Mr Arturo & Mr Joseph reached the home of this elderly mother.
Street Providence immediately handed over a little of something for the month of March and heard their issues and understood how we can help them in the future & we assured that every month we will hand over a substantial amount for their daily living.
20th March our team Handed over :
A new stove & A full gas cylinder,
Utensils ,
Dry ration kit for the month.
Sleeping mats , etc ⬇️ ( watch the link below )
The elderly mother only concern is ” once she dies who will care for her elderly son as he is suffering from intellectual disabilities “.
We are committed to take him into our home as and when that situation arises.
We explained to the mother and she understood.
A little electrical works and some pre monsoon repairs need to be done which we will attempt once her elderly daughter visits her early May.
Since we understood their pain, we were able to connect with this elderly mother & her son.
It's these little blessings that we receive along our Journey from this elderly poor goan mother which makes a huge impact.
Being poor is not easy,  but avoiding to help the poor if one can help is not right.
Elderly mother was not expecting much as i am sure many have come, promised and never returned.
But @ Street Providence ” WE DARE TO DREAM “.
We observed that fellow neighbour's around this elderly mother house have been continously helping the elderly mother and her elderly son with disabilities In whatever way they can.
We will be moving across Goa continously reaching out PRIORITY to poor goan ethnic families especially if there are issues of disabilities and helping such families to the best of our financial capacity.
It's time that The State Government gets their machinery moving in villages, targeting help to so many such poor goan people who in today age can't even afford a Gas stove & A cooking cylinder.
No politics or political comments on this post.
You should watch all 3 links to understand how we work quickly and as a team not 1 man show.

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO ACQUIRE THAT FROZEN FOOD CONTAINER

18.3.24. 10 pm IST
In all my STORMS , I just ” try ” to sit quite and move through the STORM &  Its always in my troubles that GOD sends an angel to help me navigate & sail through my STORM.
Few days back out of no where I received a call
“send your papers we got a donation to give you under CSR inniative “.
The caller identified himself, his company and the amount they wish to donate under CSR which was say ” Rs Z “.
Now about 2 month back we had asked donations for 10 new fridges which we were to install in top 10 factories in Verna and we got the donations and even installed the fridges.
Due to issues with WCD regarding our grants we are going slow on starting this food project from factories.
But back on my mind many thoughts going on and one thought was ” if only I had a frozen food Vehicle to collect all this food daily “.
Although the factories are ready to start in donating their extra canteen food yet I am not ready.
Mind you , it's taken me 3 full years to get this idea moving and almost 4 full months to convince these top 10 companies :
◇ 1. to install our fridge ,
◇ 2. donate their extra food &
◇ 3. Pay us a monthly charge to pick this food.
& With full support of Factory and boilers dept :
1. Secretary, Shri Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS &
2. Chief Inspector , Shri Anant Pangam
everything is ready, agreed, committed and given.
Infact 3 factories managers inquired why I am not starting the project.
But I need that frozen vehicle to start this project as then only I am at peace as we will be maintaing a complete cold chain cycle ie
》Food in the fridge @ Factory TO food Vehicle &
》Food in food vehicle TO our kitchen.
So I go to this COMPANY on the day I was called to discuss the CSR donation and the meeting started on a positive note.
But slowly all present in the room that day understood each other & I expressed my desire to buy a frozen Food Vehicle to run this project.
With The Grace of GOD, both Directors immediately agreed to my request and on the spot increased the donation 4 times to the original agreed donation which we had on the phone initially under their CSR inniative.(Rs Z ×4)
It was like ” A HUGE MIRACLE ” in ONE of the STORMS I am going through.
Now to run a frozen food bank Vehicle there are two parts :
☆ 1. A new Vehicle – which we have bought from ISUZU through the donation of this company under CSR &

☆ 2. A frozen container with a compressor, which needs to be fitted separately on this Vehicle which has temperature between minus 2 degrees to 4 degrees.
” And NOW we need help to purchase this Frozen container and install the same on this new vehicle “
The load that this entire ISUZU vehicle can take is officially 1700 kgs .
By we acquiring this frozen vehicle we can daily collect and move 1500 kgs of fresh cooked extra food from anywhere in Goa to those in need of food without any risk of the food getting contaminated.
Currently we accept 500 kgs of cooked food daily through our running food bank program enough to feed 1000 + meals daily after deducting spoilage and un consumable food.
With this new frozen Vehicle we are now in a  Position to scale up our food collection to :
》2000 kgs a day / 2 tonnes a day
》60000 kgs a month / 60 tonnes a month
》720000 kgs a year / 720 tonnes a year.
That means alot of good Cooked food which gets wasted will be reduced and this can be used to feed the poor.
We are also expanding shelter homes just across the borders of Goa – Maharashtra & Karnataka as well as adding more shelter Homes in Goa.
Naturally food costs will be reduced in these Homes by using this frozen vehicle to move extra cooked food collected in Goa to these homes.
If any company under CSR can help us acquire this frozen container or if you reading this post wish to support us please let me know.
Once we implement this project in GOA of collecting food from factories, we intend to run this similar projects in Other states which has big industrial Estates & where our shelter homes are located, as poverty is across different states and feeding the poor is what A FOOD BANK is all about.
We are the only FOOD BANK IN INDIA running :
☆ 1.food bank fridges in POLICE STATIONS,
☆ 2.food fridges IN FACTORIES,
☆ 3.receiving weekly food from Hon Governor.
We need your support to acquire that Frozen food container.
We will officially let you know the name of the big company which donated the ISUZU vehicle in the month of April 24 .
A big thanks to This COMPANY who donated this food bank truck for a genuine cause.

HONOURABLE GOVERNOR OF GOA , SHRI P.S. SREEDHARAN PILLAI , STEPS IN WITH A FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

16.3.2024. 11am IST
Honourable Governor of Goa , Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai , steps in with a financial assistance, which enables us to keep our women's shelter homes open for a few more days.
♡♡♡ We @ Street Providence thank The Hon Governor of Goa for quickly stepping In and providing much needed financial assistance to our women shelter Homes caring for 60 poor Goan women suffering from chronic mental disabilities.
While on the other hand , the insensitive WCD officials can't even respect the orders of The CM of Goa who just 4 days ago instructed the department to release our grants –
》A. One home for 22-23 @ Rs 2500/ lady.
》B. One home for 23-24 @ Rs 5000/ lady.
As of today, it's the Code of Conduct & we are yet to receive our grants which will make us rethink about caring for these 60 poor goan ladies with mental disabilities.
Last fee weeks we have been hitting the streets of Goa, highlighting the utter failure of The WCD officials towards the grants not released in time inspite of our documents being submitted in time.
This protests and agitations must have reached the Ears of The Hon Governor of Goa who 3 days back accepted our application for financial assistance and bang with 3 working days we received The Hon Governor financial assistance.
♡♡♡ Thanks to :
Shri V. Borkar IPS ( ADC to Governor ) &
Shri A.K.Harsha ( Comptroller )
These two officials are more of a friend & sympathizer to these poor goans ladies suffering from chronic mental disabilities in our shelter homes,  which enabled us to get this much needed financial assistance ” all within 3 days “.
Hon Governor of Goa has been providing 100 fresh cooked meals to our shelter homes every week for over 16 months now and counting.
Previously about 2 years back, The Hon Governor of Goa had also provided a huge Financial assistance to our NGO.
Recently The Hon Governor birthday was celebrated in one of our Women shelter home by First Lady Adv ( Smt ) i Reetha  Sreedharan , The Governor wife, which was followed up by a visit by 30 ladies from out homes to The Raj Bhavan for a short get together with The First lady.
It just baffles me that The WCD is an :
all women department
headed by Lady Director whose
Deputy Director is a lady and
70% Staff are ladies and
yet these ladies are like STONE HEARTED that they can't ” See, Hear , Feel & Understand ” how fellow poor goan ladies are suffering while these officials just sit in their chairs dwindling their thumbs.
♡♡♡ Big Thanks To The First Lady Adv ( Smt ) Reetha Sreedharan for all the support and understanding towards our shelter home poor goan women suffering from chronic mental disabilities.
It speaks volumes of how The Raj Bhavan Goa is hearing the silent cries of the poor goan women suffering from mental disabilities while The WCD department is ignoring the orders of The Hon CM Of GOA.
For the moment we will be keeping the ladies shelter homes open and running as The Hon CM Of Goa is not keen that we shut down the Homes and we respect his sentiments.
But The Hon CM of Goa needs to get his administration to compete with The Hon Governor of Goa who has moved very fast through the Same accounts dept headed by The CM Of Goa who is the finance minister.
Unless I am missing something i am still scratching my head why the 2 grants authorized by The Hon CM of Goa to The WCD department is not yet released to our NGO as of this morning.

WE ADMITTED A VERY POOR GOAN GIRL, BSc IN CHEMISTRY, HIGHLY INTELLIGENT BUT SUFFERING FROM PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENIA

14.3.2024  8 pm IST
Recently we admitted a Very poor Goan girl, BSc in Chemistry, highly intelligent but suffering from Paranoid Schizophrenia.
Lives in a Home which is slum like situation & her only living Goan parent is also Paranoid Schizophrenia who we will be admitting into our home after treatment at the IPHB.
Both this girl & her parent are patients of IPHB so cross verification can be done to see the truth. Simply I don't write anything
Director & Deputy Director @ Women & Child Dept, both ladies should hang their heads in Shame.
Many like this girl get admitted into IPHB for few weeks, discharged , go home, don't take medicine , lose their mind, again get admitted into IPHB , same story.
Why ? Because there is just no one to give them their psychiatric medication and no one to even give them proper food & care.
People back home call them all nasty names , make fun of them , ignore them which pushes them into a shell and they go again into depression by just sitting in their Homes crying.
But crying to whom ? All complicated.
These poor goan ladies want to be normal like you and me but it's just not possible as society looks the other side.
Big time Failure of the Government of Goa as they have no homes for poor goans suffering from mental disabilities to care for them.
Our homes are the only Shelter homes across Goa but it's a total SHAM that all departments should be pulled up for not releasing our grants when we are struggling to take in each and every one who needs that hand.
All departments are sleeping like :
☆ 1.Women & child dept
☆ 2.Social Welfare dept & now a new one
☆ 3.Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
How are they sleeping?
Because they know that homes are required but still they just don't provide in the budget money to pay NGOs like us who do the dirty work of the Government.
Simply i am not shouting and getting upset.
I can produce a list of 100 such poor goan ladies living in FREAKING pathetic conditions and no help at all.
Where and how does girls & ladies like this get help to live in dignity ?
Our Hon Prime Minister should look into this and hold all these officials responsible.
Simply declaring schemes for the ladies in Delhi is no use , it's not reaching Goa at all.
I have a ready list of all such schemes which are declared , advertised and publicity is given but in reality ” ZERO”.
There is one central government scheme called E – Anudan ( look up pls )
This scheme is for 20 psychiatric patients & it provides Rs 88000 a year to an NGO to employ a Psychiatrist to come these patients twice a week.
In reality it's like this :
》Rs 88000 / 12 months = Rs 7333 / month

》Rs 7333 / 20 patients = Rs 366 per patient.
Will Any Psychiatrist ever visit a home in his car and his petrol for Rs 366 a patient.
And guess what NGO who applies for this grant will never ever be sure to get this money even after 2 years of submitting all the bills.
These schemes are freaking outdated but yet Government of India is advertising and pushing us to apply.
Absolutely total carelessness & insensitive approach to poor goan ladies suffering from mental disabilities due to poverty and pushed into a corner by all the Government departments.
This ignorance and looking the other side approach has to stop.
Girls & ladies are suffering from disabilities both mental & intellectual big time and its increasing daily in Goa and the only solution is shelter Homes.
We are currently holding 63 ladies in our 6  homes of which 55 are local goans and 56 are on psychiatric medication with a valid IPHB prescription.
Also we have another 29 more Poor Goan ladies either already admitted in IPHB or taking treatment at IPHB who are to be admitted into our homes.
By June 2024 end we estimate to have under our care 100 poor goan psychiatric ladies in our homes but where is the Government funding?
Most of these psychiatric goan ladies will never ever recover to lead a normal life and their sickness is so intense that their end  will be in a shelter home due to psychiatric medication.
Or they will be living on streets like vagabonds either to be condemned and made fun of by the public or they will be exploited again and again till they commit suicide or are mutilated.
I am running out of patience and it's very irritating to see how The Government is just not listening to the SILENT cries of these poor goan ladies.
We need funds through your donations and also if possible from companies under CSR as we have all valid documents to provide those who give donations under CSR.
We need to do the little we can to bring smiles and to infuse new life into our own poor Goans ladies who just have no place to go.
Togther we can do it .
WE DARE TO DREAM.

ON WOMEN’S INTERNATIONAL DAY WERE REUNITED THIS ELDERLY 80 YEAR OLD LADY WITH HER FAMILY AFTER OVER 18 MONTHS OF SHE BEING MISSING.

12.3.2024. 7pm IST
Remember when u see a lady beggar on the streets it could be some one mother, mother in law, grandmother, sister , daughter , aunt , etc .
On 8th March 2024 , Women's International Day we reunited this elderly 80 year old lady with her family after over 18 months of she being missing.
Last year 3rd March 2023 , we took in this elderly lady ” Venkataramanaya ” from Chicalim health centre as she was treated for wounds in her back.
She was brought from her village in Karnataka  for begging without telling her family and hammered and hit in Goa as she just could not get alms while begging.
As she old and useless she was abandoned on the streets of Goa.
Biggest problem ” language ” . She speaks only Telugu.
Anyway we took her into our home on a walker and she use to be on a wheel chair and in 2 months we managed to reduce her wounds and she regain her strength by providing her Physiotherapy.
Just 3 weeks back we understood that she has to go back from where ever she came and so we used the Chicalim Health Centre staff who speaks telugu to help us.
Thru social media medium ie facebook an appeal was put out & we tracked her family who within 48 hours reached Goa and took her back.
Her 2 daughter, her son & the in laws all came to take their mother back.
They searched both in Telagana , Andra & Karnataka for many months but gave up assuming she was dead.
We feel their happiness and joy as well as we are relieved to have sent one beggar from Goa back home to her family.
Goa administration should take a clue from us and work with us if they wish to reduce the beggars on the streets of Goa.
Most of the beggars on the streets want to go back home but are trapped here in Goa due to the language issue, poverty, bonded labour etc.
So next time you shoo away or shout at a beggar, remember they are forced into begging and
We not only rehabilitate and care for homeless women on the streets but we also attempt to find their families but most of the time its next to impossible to locate their families or its requires alot of time.

A 48 YEAR OLD MAN WHO HAS BEEN WHEEL CHAIR BOUND FOR 7 years HAS BEEN TAKEN INTO OUR SHELTER HOMES TODAY FROM TUEM HEALTH CENTRE , PERNEM

9.3.2024. 8pm IST
A 48 year old man who has been wheel chair bound for 7 years has been taken into our shelter home today from TUEM HEALTH CENTRE , Pernem.
Mr Harshad suffers from Chronic Arthritis , has prostrate , is on a catheter & very weak, undernourished and is in a hospital.
The suffering is so severe that the fingers on both his hands are curled up inside making his grip next to impossible on anything he wishes to hold on for long.
Wife has been looking after him and bringing him last few years on wheel chair to this hospital for regular treatment.
45 days back, she told Harshad she has cancer and is going to stay with her sister in Polem, Canacona.
So basically he is an abandoned PERSON WITH DISABILITIES and this matter should have been looked into by Social Welfare dept & The DISABILITIES Commissioner.
Irony is ” non of these departments ” have a single home to admitt such Chronic case who are abandoned, suffering with disabilites when there is NEED OF THE HOUR for PALLATIVE CARE HOMES.
As usual call STREET PROVIDENCE.
Dr Anil, is the newly appointed Incharge of the hospital and he has a heart of Gold and asked us to rehabilitate.
This afternoon we took Harshad into our home.👇👇
Wife dropped all his belonging in the hospital before locking the house and it looks like it's no going back for him as it's going to be difficult as of now for him to walk in the situation he is.
But we will attempt and put In our best effort through our rehabilitation program where all such types of cases are able to get back to their feet.
Most of our wheel bound admissions have recovered and left our Home walking fit and fine.
Its the season of LENT and I take all such opportunities to atleast attempt to bring relief and provide care to such terrible and disappointing situations faced by the poorest of the poor.
LENT to me is not about fasting / sacrifice  but to me its about bringing that joy and life to the poorest of the poor with sickness just as Christ resurrection brings eternal life.
Does our State have any facilities for such poor people who are abandoned due to disabilites ?
Does anyone recollect any such Homes in Goa who will admitt such patients on wheel chairs without a single charge?
Does The Government have a responsibility towards such sad and disappointing cases of people being abandoned due to disabilites & poverty ?
I require answers which i am waiting.
But till then Harshad has a clean bed , warm food, medication and a family in our shelter Home to cheer him up.
It's going to be difficult & complicated to get Harshad up and standing
But WE DARE TO DREAM.
