SENDS 3 MEMBER TEAM TO VISIT THE RELIEF CAMPS IN MIZORAM WHERE DISPLACED PEOPLE ARE SHELTERED AND TAKEN CARE IN MANY CAMPS

10.8.2023. 7Pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA sends a 3 member team to visit the relief camps in MIZORAM where displaced people are sheltered and taken care in many camps due to the strife in Manipur as well to look into logistical challenges in getting aid into Churachandpur district of Manipur.
The team left Dabolim airport today at 3 pm and will reach Aizawl , capital of Mizoram tomorrow.
This team is headed by Mr John Shilshi , retired
( IPS ) officer & consists of :
♡ Adv Caroline Collaso (  our Trustee ) &
♡ Mrs Jennifer Pereira  (  Volunteer )
This team is carrying 45 kgs relief aid namely :
☆ Ladies inner wear & 400 pc organic sanitary pads
Logistics and relief aid to Churachandpur is the biggest challenge and this district in Manipur is the worst affected due to the riots.
Close to 90 + camps are currently sheltering thousands of women, children , families.
Totally inaccessible by road from Imphal to Churachandpur inspite of the distance being just 60 kms apart due to the conflict.
When our team was in Imphal a few days back,   they were told that supplies from Imphal to Churachandpur happen by helicopter on Friday & Tuesday.
From Aizawl to Churachandpur is 350 kms One way with the time approx 18 hours for any relief truck to travel and the road is through the jungle.
So you can understand the ground reality for those in Churachandpur district with 90+ camps, thousands of people in camps , no consistent supplies, etc.
I am not going to write more about the situation in Churachandpur district but what I have picked up from my sources in Churachandpur , the poor & displaced people require help.
And that's the purpose of this team visiting Aizawl.
To find solutions to get relief aid from Mizoram to Churachandpur over the next few months.
But we require your support in the coming months as normalcy is still not in sight in the form of your donations.
Our relief service in Manipur for over the last 45+  days has-been made possible due to two gentlemen.
Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas , Daltonganj Archdiocese, a Goan &
Mr John Shilshi , Retd ( IPS ), a Manipuri.
Relief work is always a TEAM EFFORT.
For me to get into Manipur in an organized manner was possible due to the introduction of our NGO by Bishop Theodore to the Archbishop of Imphal, Rev Fr Domnic Lumon.
And we as an NGO are still doing relief work last 45+ days and counting.
Alot of you seeing the conflict in Manipur have that desire to go to Manipur, but belive me, without local ground support, logistics , a plan of action and a focused vision towards the relief work its not going to be beneficial to all.
Since i am associated with Bishop Theodore in Jharkhand in our shelter home , Bishop Is aware of how I think and work so that 1st call which was made was so well received, that Archbishop of Imphal had the right person for me to work with , Fr Francis.
Mr John Shilshi is from the NE and no one knows the NE like John sir, at the back of his hand.
Experience counts and that's where Sir John stands tall in this relief work in Manipur in guiding me here in Goa.
Both Ret IPS officers :
Sir BOSCO GEORGE & Sir JOHN SHILSHI are wonderful volunteers to have in our team especially during this relief work.
Tomorrow in Mizoram, another top Goan IAS officer will be providing our NGO all possible assistance to make the logistics from Aizawl to Churachandpur a smooth ride in the coming months.
Like I say always RELIEF WORK is TEAM WORK & not a one man show
I am yet to go to MANIPUR & I am not to keen to visit Manipur till the innaugration of our 1st shelter home.
I have my job cut out right here in Goa.
Relief work is more about connecting the dots , co ordinating, sourcing , implementation, executing , feedback and follow up, with one ready to accept suggestions given by the team.
We request you to say a short prayer for the safety of this 3 member team during their visit and stay in Mizoram.

POOR & DISPLACED CHILDREN IN MANIPUR REQUIRE YOUR SUPPORT TO BE ABLE TO STUDY IN SCHOOL THIS ACADEMIC YEAR

9.8.2023. 7Pm IST
Poor & displaced Children in Manipur require your support to be able to study in school this academic year.
Please watch the above you tube video to understand our relief work through many projects to those affected by the Violence.
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA is working to help many many children to go back to school in this new academic year.
Due to the unrest , Schools have been destroyed, some may be used as shelters , families may have abandoned their homes and gone else where, etc and children may not be able to continue education.
Also since last few months no source of income so how will parents afford to admitt the child in Schools?
Education in Goa is Government aided but in Manipur its not, so the poor and marginalised MAY not be able to access education .
The Archdiocese of Imphal through DSSS
( Diocesan Social Service Society ) has placed children in different Schools which were not affected too much by the violence in batches.
The request has come from The Archdiocese of Manipur to Street Providence Goa to arrange the fees for over 300 such students at the moment.
The 1st such school Is AVE MARIA school , run by the Sisters of The Blessed Sacrament in KANGPOKPI district which has 65 such displaced children who require your support.
As they are displaced they can't go home and come back daily to school , so they have to be in a boarding where they are provided food and shelter.
In this particular school , Each child has a cost to be borne for one year ie Rs 40000 per academic year
Break up is like this :
Rs 5000 : admission fee , books,  uniforms, etc
Rs 500 : school fees monthly
Rs 2500 : boarding fees monthly.
Once you sponsor a child , we as the NGO will update you the progress report of the sponsored child so that you are aware of the progress.
Once peace returns to normalcy you can always go to visit this family and provide further help to the family by keeping us in the loop.
Next year too the same child will require help to go to carry forward the education as this conflict is taking time to settle down.
We have taken one school at a time to avoid confusion and stress.
We will create separate whstsapp group for each school and add the teachers and administrators of the school along with the donors for queries and communications keeping our NGO in the loop.
Please don't call me for any queries but whatsapp me on 8380097564.
Hear our Volunteer Mr Arturo Dsouza in the video attached and follow instructions by logging into our website www.streetprovidencegoa.com 👇👇
I will be not replying to any unwanted queries not related to this 65 students education and what we have explained in this post and this video is very simple & easy to understand.
We @ Street Providence have gone beyond providing dry ration, medicines , sanitary pads , ladies inner wear.
We are now looking towards EDUCATION.
Next step , we will be looking at low cost small homes for the displaced as well as starting our own shelter homes for the homeless & people with disabilities .
To all the GOANS supporting our relief work in GOA , INDIA & AROUND THE WORLD & the others also , THIS IS YOUR RELIEF PROJECT.
Relief is never a one man show but a joint effort by so many stake holders.
Humble request please don't waste my precious time calling and asking questions but please whatsapp on 8380097564  your query so you know exactly what you are inquiring about.
God bless you so much

WE CARE AND NURSE BACK TO HEALTH, THOSE WHO NO ONE WANTS AND NO ONE CARES FOR

8.8.2023. 7Pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA primary focus is on rehabilitating the poorest of the poor on the streets be it the migrants , the alcoholics, the drug addicts, those with mental disabilities or those just lost and abandoned.
We care and nurse back to health, those who no one wants and no one cares for.
And I & my team have been doing this FREE SERVICE , faithfully and systematically against all odds and obstacles as I SEE THE SUFFERING CHRIST IN THE POOR.
You need to see GOD in the poor and hungry only then you can feel the LOVE FOR THE POOR.
Off course we feel the frustration , the disappointment, the set backs, but WE FIGHT TO WIN THE BATTLE.
We write hard , we work strong , we go about getting the job done and most of the times THE JOB has to be ACHIEVED come what may.
We know that no matter how bad , sad , pathetic, irritating, disturbing etc the patient is when we accept ” OUR REWARD IS ASSURED ie RECOVERY HAS HAPPENED “.
All our past experiences , the Food,  medication,  human touch , hospital trips , Physiotherapy , the homely feeling, the message that we send out
” Yes we care for you but you need to do your part” is what makes STREET PROVIDENCE stand tall in this field.
Total team work from day one.
Well the videos and the pictures attached with this post tells it all about ALTAF 👇👇
Altaf was sent to our home 2 years ago from Chicalim Health Centre and Dr ANIL has been doing a HUMANE service to the homeless by taking trouble to find many many homeless people a decent place to stay by requesting us to rehabilitate such abandoned people.
Abandoned, crippled , lost his voice, malnourished, highly alcoholic, once upon a time pain in the neck, rough and destructive, etc
Today within 2 years a fine young healthy man.
WE DARE TO DREAM as nothing is impossible when THE INTENTIONS are right.
Took alot of patience , medication, counseling. Detoxification, putting hard core sense into his head, at times strong language, may be even roughed up.
But today SMILES as ALTAF goes back to his family in his village.
From being totally unable to speak & walk due to excess tobacco and smoking to now atleast audible, ALTAF has fought back everything to be what he is today.
And last few months ALTAF has paid back our services to his recovery by being an EXCELLENT care giver cleaning , bathing, massaging,  feeding stroke related bed ridden patients as he too was in the same state and others looked after him.
That's REHABILITATION for us @ Street Providence.
DO UNTO OTHERS, WHAT OTHERS DO TO YOU.
It's drilled into their heads the day they are admitted into the homes.
We rehabilitate Hindus , Catholics, Muslims  and there is no difference in caste Creed or race in our homes.
We belive in humanity and nothing else.
All our shelter homes are run by the homeless street people themselves especially the men's home .
That's the system at Street Providence.
Your support is what we seek to do what we are called to do best ie “REHABILITATION “.
God bless you all

SHELTER HOMES HAVE TALENT ? USUALLY WHAT DO YOU , YES , YOU READING THIS THINK

7.8.2023. 7pm.IST
SHELTER HOMES HAVE TALENT ?
Sounds weird.
We'll that's what I too always understood before I started such Homes.
Usually what do you , Yes , you reading this think
” when you hear about SHELTER HOMES FOR THE POOR & HOMELESS WITH DISABILITIES “?
Well Street Providence Goa runs 8 such homes in Goa for the last few years where we have been taking care of the most pathetic & complicated poor goans and homeless people with severe mental & physical disabilities.
Freaking not easy at all.
But the talents are huge in these once so called by many such names as MAD , LOOSE SCREWS , CHARACTERS, NUT CASES , etc
Over last 5 years of consistent care , medication, treatment , counseling, therapy including Occupational & Physiotherapy plus Vocational training and now art & craft classes the RESULTS are beyond my expectations.
I am DUMB FOUNDED at times.
The raw stones are actually uncut diamonds who once polished SHINE.
Once condemned and rejected by society, today these same ladies, will beat hands down , any normal person in their age group with their talent and their determination to perform what is taught to them inspite of them being on Severe psychiatric medications.
I , as the incharge, at the time of deciding the admissions don't look at them as unworthy and useless but i look at them as GOD CREATING NEW THINGS OUT OF NOTHING or GOD HAS THE ABILITY TO create EX NIHILO.
Roman 4 : 17, for those who know.
Attached is picture of needle work & crotchet work done in our Guirim shelter home for women under the guidance and training of an 80 year old NUN , Sr Edith who just loves teaching the ladies all this stuff.
Sr Edith may be 80 years, has the spirit of a 16 year old but she has that determination to bring out the best in these ladies in this home inspite of all odds .
We have employed over the last few months :
☆ Physiotherapists
☆ Art & craft teacher
☆ Vocational trainer
☆ Occupational therapist
Just to get these women to enjoy their moments rather than staring into space whole day .
Our shelter homes are not old aged homes and there is a big difference in shelter & old aged homes.
If one goes through our face book page
Or our web page www.streetprovidencegoa.com
and spend about 30 minutes, you will see all the smiles on the ladies faces in the 4 homes we run for women &  activities that we provide them to keep them SMILING .
Mind you most of them are on psychiatric medication varying between 4 tablets to 12 tablets per day , so not an easy job to get them ti do what they are taught to do.
Challenging , difficult but yet possible.
WE DARE TO DREAM & with ASSURED RESULTS.
This is not for SALE , but we give away as a gratitude to those benefactors who have stood with me right from 2017 when i was new on the horizon and donations were an issue.
From January 2024 , we have huge plans to manufacture on a bigger scale many such items and sell . But for now patience please.
Simply amazing when you see this picture attached with this post.
After reading this post , Do you agree SHELTER HOMES HAVE TALENT ?
Leave your comments.
God bless you all

THE SERVICE OF STREET PROVIDENCE GOA WAS APPRECIATED IN THE GOA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY DURING THE CURRENT ASSEMBLY SESSION

5.8.23  7Pm IST
The service of Street Providence Goa as a Shelter Home for the Goan senior citizens , homeless and people who have no to care for was appreciated in the GOA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY during the current assembly session
And this appreciation was spoken about by none other than The Social Welfare Minister of The Government of Goa,  Mr Subhash Phal Dessai.

☝️☝️
I am playing the 2 minutes video where The Honourable MLA of Velim constituency raised a very touching and prevalent question and The Honourable Social Welfare Minister replied to him by stating Street Providence runs many such homes in Goa.
We have 8 such Homes In Goa and of the 165+ people on these homes , of which close to 110 are our GOANS and in total 135 are suffering from disabilities.
The 9th Home is starting very soon which can hold another 10 Goans with disabilites and homeless or lonely.
Our association with the Honourable Minister of Social Welfare Department is just 1 year old.
I am not his voter neither had I ever met him before.
But in this one year ,The Minister has innaugrated our 2 Physiotherapy centre's for the old Goan & homeless people with disabilites.
Of which one Physiotherapy unit has been approved , fully funded for the equipment and the grant for Mar end 2023 has been released in full by the Department of Social Welfare.
The second Physiotherapy unit we are expecting the grant by this month.
These Physiotherapy centre's are catering to the old Goan and homeless people in our shelter homes.
The Social Welfare Department has also funded our one men shelter home for 10 men with disabilities under Jeevan Jyoti for 23- 24 and advance has been released for April 23 – Sept 23.
We have submitted two more files to the Social Welfare Department to Start two more men's home under Jeevan Jyoti scheme and we are sure it will be approved.
In December 22 , our NGO was awarded the Best NGO in Goa , by the Social Welfare Department,  Government of Goa at the hands of The Honourable Chief Minister of Goa.
In one instance,  a particular Dy Director of a department ( not under Social Welfare) was just troubling me for unwanted reasons and this  home was having all elderly Goans with severe disabilities.
I was on the verge of closing this home as the Dy Director of the Department was not understanding the issues inspite of all my paperwork being 90% proper.
I out of frustration called The Social Welfare Minister and he heard , understood and drove to this office without informing anyone , climbed up the many floors and took the Dy Director to task with he even ready to call up the Respective Minister and The CM.
With God's Grace, Dy Director understood.
One nice quality of the Social Welfare Minister Is he is approachable and understands complaints especially when the topic is DISABILITIES.
With huge no. of people with disabilites and no free shelter homes for such Poor Goans with disabilites as well as the homeless, we @ Street Providence are filing the gap which the Social Welfare Department should have been doing.
But we did not shout, agitate , condemn etc the Department but we quietly and consistently went about opening 9 such homes but at the same time knocked on the doors of the Social Welfare Department showcasing our work.
Today I request The Honourable MLA of VELIM to arrange one such home in his constituency and we will be happy to run this home with the support of the Social Welfare Department for the poor goans who may be homeless and suffering from disabilities from that constituency.
There is a misconception in public minds
” Government is not giving funds for NGOs “, but here we are having alot of support both from Social Welfare Department & Women and Child Department and I can vouch that Grant's are released in time.
We are ready to even start homes for the beggars as that's a big issue in all cities of Goa but let the request come through the Social Welfare Department.
We have chosen the complicated & difficult SERVICE of providing FREE CARE , STAY , MEDICINES , PHYSIOTHERAPY to our poor goans senior citizens and those suffering from disabilities which has caught the attention of the Government as there is no one besides our NGO in GOA looking after for FREE such horrible and terrible cases of abandonment & loneliness.
Once again to be spoken about in the ASSEMBLY is a big moment of joy for a very small and young NGO and we are surely going to start more such FREE HOMES with the support of The Social Welfare Department,  Government of Goa.
Our priority has been , is and will always be SHELTER HOMES FOR THOSE GOANS WITH DISABILITIES & THE HOMELESS & THE LONELY.
You can understand all about our numerous projects by looking up our website Www.streetprovidencegoa.com
God bless you all

DESPATCHES THE 3RD CONSIGNMENT OF GENERAL MEDICINES WHICH IS A HUGE ORDER FOR THE CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT OF MANIPUR

4.8.2023. 7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA despatches the 3rd  consignment of general medicines which is a HUGE order for the Churachandpur district of Manipur.
List attached ( if you put the names & qty into Google you will get the pricing and know the value of this consignment).
Infact the supplier did not have in stock about 20% of the medicines ordered.
Churachandpur has close to 100+ camps and one can please listen to our interview which was aired on Herald TV On this link👇👇
which will enlighten you on how our team saw with their eyes and heard 1st hand the issues, which need your help through our NGO.
Infact the order from the Doctor from Churachandpur was too big that we had to reduce it to 50% as we did not have the funds to put down in just this order .
The doctor took 3 days collecting requirements from smaller medical units in Churachandpur and was reluctant to email me the requirements as he also knew the Size of the order was mind blowing.
Besides the order attached in the list ( which we have reduced by half ) there are numerous injections and vials needed to be flown in ice boxes from Delhi to the nearest airport and that is another huge bill which are trying to see how best it reaches.
This 3rd attached medicine list is going by road from Delhi to Manipur which will only reach its final destination 15 days from now on a higher side.
But the injections have to go by flight and the freight by air is a huge cost considering the distance from Delhi to Manipur.
Medicines are a big big requirement in any situation be it flood , earthquake , conflict, etc and this district is the worst affected and for over 45 days of our working in relief work in  Manipur we are now able to help the people in Churachandpur.
This was possible all due to the visit of our team members just a few days back led by Ex DIG Mr Bosco George IPS (retd).
Too many poor people including thousands of women & young children in camps and we stand with them in their Pain and sorrow.
Very soon there is another team going to Mizoram & Assam to see how best aid can be organized to Churachandpur as there is alot of demand for help and supplies but the route through Imphal is closed.
If you hear the interview you will understand more about the life in the camps especially in Churachandpur district.
We @ Street Providence Goa would not be able to do so much of relief work without the support of the NUMEROUS GOAN BENEFACTORS.
This relief aid will go on for another 6 months I feel and we request you to stand with us and with those affected in violence in Manipur.
This Relief to Manipur is not a individual project of Street Providence but ITS A RELIEF WORK of GOANS in GOA , INDIA & across the WORLD who have donated , are donating and will donate to the relief work in Manipur.
You must hear the 1 hour interview to see how we all can come togther in all ways big or small to bring that SMILE back to thousands of little children, women, the sick people , the elderly and those who are just lost .
Small request ” KINDLY AVOID CALLING ME AS I CANT ANSWER ALL THE CALLS “
Whatsapp me only on 8380097564 for anything and everything.
For those who I have cut the call or have refused to answer the call please note ” for you it might have been the only call you made in the day well for me I have just no energy to answer really non relief related and crazy queries which at times are more of irrelevant talk as well as less of relief related issues “.
Everything is on our web page www.streetprovidencegoa.com
God bless you all

TODAY DESPATCHES ITS 4th CONSIGNMENT OF 17000 KGS OF DRY RATION IN A TRUCK FROM IMPHAL TO CHANDEL.

2.8.2023. 7Pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA today despatches its 4th consignment of 17000 kgs of dry ration in a truck from IMPHAL to CHANDEL.
This ration was bought in Imphal itself by our Food bank and handed over to The Archdiocese of Imphal.
This truck is carrying :
》15000 kgs rice & 2000 kgs of onions , potatoes , edible oil , salt, etc.
This dry ration is going through the The Archdiocese of Imphal to the poor families.
Picture attached of the stock & truck
♡♡♡ Thanking God that it reached safely to the 450 + families in two villages in this chandel district.
Simultaneously on 1.8.23 evening in Kangpokpi district at a relief camp situated at :
Industrial Training Institutes
Behind DC Office , Kangpokpi town
430 People ( all ladies) were present who reside in this particular camp , had smiles on their faces
The relief committee handed over in total 400 pcs of organic sanitary pads & Rs 50000 worth of ladies inner wear .
Present at this distribution was :
Mr Joseph, Chairman, ITI Relief Centre ,
SK Paul GS ,
Tingnei Thadou President, Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organisation,
Chochong , General Secretary, ( KWWO )
A few pictures & a video attached in the collage. 👇👇
Press write up also attached in HILLS HORNBILL EXPRESS newspaper acknowledging our service in Kangpokpi district also attached.
This particular camp was visited by our team members when they were in Manipur last week & they understood that need for sanitary pads & ladies inner wear and based on their report the same was distributed.
Infact in the coming few days , in this particular town of KANGPOKPI there are 3 other such camps and we have asked the relief committee to procure ladies and Gents inner wear for all those in need on these 3 camps along with sanitary pads.
There was much joy and smiles on the ladies faces when the distribution happened in this camp.
Imagine when they escaped on the Night of the riot , they did not have much clothing or things to take with them.
Practically in all camps this is one demand for
” LADIES INNER WEAR & SANITARY PADS “.
Usually in many relief situations this item of ladies inner wear as well as sanitary pads is not thought about but for hygiene purposes these items are highly needed .
We @ Street Providence Goa thank so many benefactors who have stood by us and understood the plight of the poor suffering people in camps at Manipur and are coming forward to help us raise resources to foot the bills.
We are the only GOAN NGO working for over a month in Manipur and we are always uploading and reporting where we are giving what material and who is associated with us.
The benefactors should see and know, how and where their donations are going.
We are updating you that this is going to be a humanitarian issue for another 6 months to a year and we intend to work with aid as long as there are requests from our associates in Manipur.
You need to keep supporting our work as most of the times I have seen ” alot of people come into such situations with alot of enthusiasm and loud noises but quickly loose steam and wither away “.
This relief work is not about Street Providence but ITS ABOUT THE GENEROUS BENEFACTORS, 90% are GOANS, who are standing with the violence affected poor people especially the ladies and the children in Manipur.
We intend to do alot for the women & children who are literally struggling in camps with nothing to look forward too as there is nothing to go back too.
All destroyed and turned to ashes.
And my estimate is anything between 15000 to 20000 ladies and say 5000 to 10000 children will be needing help in the near future.
If you understand HUNGER & HOMELESSNESS like me then it's time to pledge your support monthly for the next few months to bring that smile back to those in need of your help.
Please keep all and every query , doubt , clarification only through whstsapp messages on 8380097564.
God bless you so much

TODAY WE PRESENT YOU THE EXPERIENCE OF MR. JOSEPH FERNANDES OUR WELL WISHER/ VOLUNTEER

31.7.23. 7pm. IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA , had sent a team to Manipur to go to the ground level on 20.7.23 and see how best and in which way help can be given not only at dry ration , medicines, etc but beyond that.
The team was headed by :
♡ Mr Bosco George IPS ( Ret )

And also on board was :
♡ Adv Caroline Collaso ( our Trustee )
♡ Mr Arturo Dsouza ( environmentalist )
♡ Fr Clifford Castellino ( Parish Priest of Corgao )
♡ Mr Joseph Fernandes ( well wisher / supporter )
One thing I would Like to share ie when this trip was planned and confirmed on 15.7.2023 , things in Imphal were very shaky as there was a 3 day shut down just on the day we booked the ticket.
On 24.7.23 , there was again some issues on the ground in Imphal & neighboring state.
But with the Grace of God , the entire trip went on peacefully and no trouble of any kind was experienced by the team.
Right from 15.7.2023 till 24.7.2023,  I was twiddling my fingers and just wondering ” if there is an issue and something goes wrong, I will be blamed and my name will get spoilt “.
” What will I answer their families ? “
Many times my wife asked me ” are you sure this is the right decision ? “
Well Thats FAITH for me .
GOD was in control.
Its easy to write all this , but I PLANTED THE RIGHT SEEDS, which was to BRING more SMILES to those in THE RELIEF CAMPS.
♡♡♡ Today we present you the experience of Mr Joseph Fernandes our well wisher/ volunteer.
Joseph was the last minute addition and he was there for a purpose ie ”  to capture the moments “
Today after the team has come back , I feel relieved and I have taken all their views and observations and implemented the most deserving ones.
With Logistics being the biggest issue its only PATIENCE which hold the key to the people in the  RELIEF CAMPS getting more smiles through the aid we are sending.
These poor people in Relief camps are looking at your help and support in the coming days, weeks & months as these are the poorest of the poor.
This relief work can even extend upto 6 months or even a year.
If you understand HUNGER & HOMELESSNESS like me then it's time to pledge your support monthly for the next few moths to bring that smile back to those in need of your help.
Please keep all and every query , doubt , clarification only through whstsapp messages on 8380097564.
God bless you so much

One can only move out of the base if you know where you are going, for what you are going , who is taking you where & what you are going to do once you reach your destination.
Please keep all and every query , doubt , clarification only through whstsapp messages on 8380097564.

YESTERDAY, OUR VOLUNTEER MR. JOHN BAPTIST , FROM FATORDA ACCEPTED FROM DISTRICT HOSPITAL MARGAO TWO HOMELESS MEN

29.7.2023. 7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA primary focus has and will always be rehabilitation of the homeless people suffering from Disabilities.
With our Relief work going on in full swing in Manipur , alot of NEW well wishers and benefactors might not be aware of our main focus ie :
Sheltering  the homeless.
We take in , rehabilitate,  care and look after homeless men & ladies from all religions : Hindus , Catholics , Muslims
90,% of our admissions come through :
Goa Police & Government hospitals
Directly we don't pick up anyone from the streets without the police verification.
Most of the homeless In our homes suffer from mental disabilities as well as physical disabilities
Just yesterday, Our Volunteer Mr John Baptist , from Fatorda , accepted from District hospital margao, these two homeless men.
☆ 1. One young MAHARASHTRAN man , Mr Sanjay Singh, whose both legs are AMPUTATED.

☆ 2. And an elderly  GOAN man , Mr Urban Dias, from Cuncolim/ Carmona unwanted at the moment both by his wife & daughter and also by his sisters.
Sanjay Singh , 41 years old , suffering fron multiple ulcer over gluteal region, brought by 108 Ambulance as he was lying near margao municipality area.
Being a person with disabilites surely he was on the streets begging to survive and that's how life is for a person whose both legs are AMPUTATED.
One of his leg was amputated in 2007 & other one in 2010.
Mr Urban Dias , 77 years old , is married and is suffering from Hernia , High BP , diabetes and not sure what else.
Too old and too weak as he is not wanted by anyone including his wife and his daughter who he claims works in the CID.
Says he has 4 sisters and all have thrown him out.
Both have been living / staying or taken care in the district hospital for a couple of months together as they are homeless.
We were requested a few weeks back by the PRO of District Hospital Margao to rehabilitate but the paper work took more time than we expected so much so that Mr Urban was shifted to Cansaulim PHC as the district hospital Margao is over loaded with patients.
We accepted Mr Sanjay from District hospital margao & then we drove to Cansaulim PHC and picked up Mr Urban which actually is the job of the district hospital to get the such patients to the shelter homes by the so called SOCIAL WORKERS who are actually to be appointed by the HEALTH DEPARTMENT.
Anyway since the health department is not doing what they are supposed to do towards the     “homeless in hospitals ” we are doing our little services, we are not doing any favour to these homeless people irrespective of religion, caste, creed or race.
Once discharged from the hospital ( incase they get discharged ) they will back to the streets and same mess.
It's the rainy season and how will they survive ?
One has both legs amputated man & one goan senior citizen, too weak , too old and too much of sickness.
Infact a particular Minister of The Government of Goa has been calling me to rehabilitate these homeless people in district hospital Margao but the administration here is very very slow.
This month inspite of the Manipur Relief work we have admitted 4 homeless men to the 165 + people in our 8 shelter homes in Goa.
》One patient has a colostomy bag
》One patient is a severe stroke patient
》One is this man amputated in both legs
》One is the elderly goan citizen with sickness
Its not a joke to deal with so many such sick people daily 24*7.
Health Department & Health Minister should look into our problems and give us some help & support.
We are THE ONLY NGO in GOA doing this work last 6 years.
Please do support us as we bring smiles to the old, abandoned, homeless people with disabilites.
