WE @ FOOD BANK JHARKHAND PROVIDED 700 CHILDREN FROM 2 SCHOOLS WHICH IS IN THE VICINITY OF OUR SHELTER HOME @ Bhusar JHARKHAND, 4 in 1 NESTLE NOODLE PKT AS A SMALL TOKEN OF LOVE AND CONCERN

8.9.2023. 7Pm IST
As we Celebrate The Birthday of our Mother Mary today, we @ Food Bank Jharkhand provided 700 children from 2 schools which is in the vicinity of our Shelter Home @ Bhusar Jharkhand , 4 in 1 nestle noodle pkt as a small token of love and concern.
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR SANGOLDA GOA is the only registered Food Bank in Goa and regularly receives packaged food from NESTLE INDIA , which is close to being out of date.
♡♡♡ We thank INDIA FOOD BANKING NETWORK , Delhi for connecting us to NESTLE INDIA in Goa and giving us an opportunity for over the last few months to save hundreds of Kgs of packaged food from going to the bins.
Infact on the 17.8.23,  we received at our food bank office in Goa :
☆ 73 crts of 4 -in 1 NESTLE  Elichi noodles = 1800 pcs which is best before 1-10-23 &

☆ 159 crts of BRITANAIA , BADAM milk = 3800 pcs  which was having about 10 days life shelf
We got in touch with Hassan Khan & Mahesh Govekar , both who run their own NGOs in Vasco area of Goa.
Hassan was kind enough to distribute this Badam milk to alot of poor children in and around Mormugao Taluka.
Mahesh distributed most of the Badam Milk to alot of HIV infected people through out Goa within just 48 hours.
These HIV infected poor people are a few hundreds of them and Mahesh & his team from his NGO did a fantastic job.
Our 175  Shelter home inmates in Goa too got to drink this Badam milk for a few days.
But we sent these 73 crts NESTLE noodles to our FOOD BANK in Jharkhand & today the distribution happened at the hands of Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas along with our shelter home team staff & volunteers.
♡♡♡ We thank BRITANIA & NESTLE INDIA,  for attempting to reduce food wastage and send such packaged food well before the expiry date to FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR SANGOLDA GOA.
For Many months only NESTLE INDIA was giving our food bank, packaged food to reduce food wastage, but it's wonderful that BRITANIA too has come forward to reduce food wastage.
It's a humble appeal to all food manufacturing companies, C&F and Sales managers , to reduce packaged food wastage by withdrawing stocks from the market atleast 45 days to 60 days before expiry so that the poor can be given a small token of love instead of sending it to the bins.
This year , 4 big states in India are having huge rain deficit and north India has had floods and excess damage to land, so Agriculture  cultivation will be severely affected.
This year there is going to severe Climate changes and winters are going to be severe in many states including Central India and so we also sent 100 blankets in this truck which carried the noodles to Jharkhand.
Registered Food banks are the need of the hour & we are working as food banks both in Goa & Jharkhand.
In Manipur , we are working and providing tons of dry ration through our Food bank program and till date 50000 kgs of dry ration sent and in the coming months another 50000 kgs of dry ration will be given to the displaced poor people in Manipur.
Daily in Goa we pick up and receive through our Food bank fridges close to 500 kgs of cooked food enough to feed 1000 to 1200 meals a day including 500 meals which go to our 8 shelter homes for breakfast , lunch , tea & dinner.
Rest we give ahead to other NGOs and shelter homes where the poor and hungry are fed daily in Goa.
We started our NGO as a Food Bank & it's close to 5 years + that we daily feed more than 1000 meals on an average, at times it reaches 1500+ meals Worth of food a day.
Not an easy or affordable service, running food bank, but we do it by employing staff , getting in volunteers and dedicating one full time car only for this operation and its happening last 5 + years.
Once again A Very Happy Feast of The Nativity & its wonderful that Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas @ BUSHAR, Jharkhand early this morning, brought a smile on 700 poor children by personally handing over to each child a Nestle Elichi noodle 4 in 1 packet on our NGO behalf.
God bless you all

DONDATES TO CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT HOSPITAL, MANIPUR (GENERIC) MEDICINES WORTH A FEW LACS OF RUPEES

7.9.23.  7Pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA donates to CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT HOSPITAL , Manipur ( generic )  medicines worth a few lacs of Rupees yesterday ( if bought as Allopathic ).
Our 3rd huge shipment of medicines got delayed for over 25 days in transit due to many many genuine reasons
Finally it reached Aizawl but took another 7 days to reach Churachandpur on 1.9.23 by tempo  which the transport cost was additional Rs 25000.
From Delhi to Aizawl it was Rs 7000+ for 11 crts of this medicines.
During our 2 member team visit to Manipur, our 1 volunteer Joseph Fernandes was stationed in Churachandpur for 6 days and he covered alot of ground in almost 30 camps.
The medical facility is a big concern and Joseph suggested after his ground visit that this 3rd consignment of medicines actually sent to the Archdiocese of Imphal could be given to the District hospital Churachandpur.
Yesterday the Archdiocese of Imphal at Churachandpur handed over this huge consignment worth lacs of Rupees to the CMO of the district hospital in Churachandpur.
( appreciation letter attached )
For those in Goa , think of what is a district hospital & the functioning and how many people come daily to Mapusa & Margao District hospital and you will understand the meaning of a district hospital.
And this district in Churachandpur is the worst affected by violence so all the more there will be  and there is a shortage of medicines.
This Churachandpur district hospital requires badly a Radiologist, Gynecologist and many specialist doctors.
On 1.9.23 our volunteer Mr Joseph had given 1000 organic sanitary pads, Cerelac , etc to this district hospital. ( appreciation letter attached ).
Attached 2 letters from the District hospital in Churachandpur which means alot to our NGO & a picture of Fr Samuel from Churachandpur & CMO of the District hospital Churachandpur with the medicines handed over yesterday.
Next week a 4th huge consignment of generic medicines again will be sent from Delhi to Churachandpur district hospital.
A district hospital caters to nothing less to 4 to 5 lac people ( 1/ 2 a million) and supplies from Imphal to Churachandpur is totally cut off by road.
Infact let's say a silent prayer tonight for peace in Manipur.
We ask your help in our MANIPUR RELIEF as at times material can't be bought or sourced in such violence hit areas but only relief material from outside the state is required to bring that little HOPE to those inside.
Relief material & logistical work is hard work and requires planning , manpower, co ordination , follow up and implementation.
It's not for all and everyone to get up and do logistics and relief material.
It's more of team work and putting volunteers togther and that's what we @ Street Providence Goa are doing ” putting numerous teams of volunteers togther for MANIPUR RELIEF “.
Street Providence is not a one man show but it's more of Team work across 15 different projects running side by side across 3 states in India.
We are committed to help the displaced in Manipur be it through :
☆ Dry ration
☆ Baby food & baby innerwear
☆ Ladies & gents innerwear
☆ Medicines generic
☆ School fees for the children
☆ New Blankets
☆ Shelter Homes for the homeless with disabilites
☆ Low cost new Homes for the displaced.
We bring HOPE to the people as we are now fully working in Manipur with our team members across 4 districts.
For those who are wondering why only Whatsapp messages and no calling, well I have a full-time job last 13 years in a company and
9 to 6 is my work timing.
Not possible to answer besides last 6 years everyone who knows my style of working uses only whatsapp messages to communicate.
God bless you all

IS ATTEMPTING TO ACCEPTS, COLLECT, SEND AND DISTRIBUTE 10000 WARM BLANKETS TO THE DISPLACED POOR PEOPLE IN MANIPUR

6.9.2023. 7Pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA is attempting to accept,  collect, send and distribute 10000 warm BLANKETS to the displaced poor people in Manipur.
Our 2 member team has returned safely after 6 tiring but satisfying days of ground work and each and every camp / schools of the total 45 they visited, had one request ” what happens when the winter starts – we require blankets “.
By end of this month a 4 member team will again be in Manipur to provide relief material as our 2nd truck from Goa is planned for the 16th of this month.
We have set up 18 collection centre's across different parts of Goa and we thank these volunteers for providing their time to assist us in this collection drive.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE : ONLY NEW BLANKETS & NOTHING ELSE.
》This drive will go on till 30.9.2023.
To all reading this post please understand :
” this is not a clothes drive so don't try to get rid of your clothes in this project “.
” if you feel you are giving to the poor and you feel you are doing a favour to poor , then please don't give, as giving to the poor should be a Service and that's why one has to give the best “.
Blankets can be for children or adults, thick or thin,  long or short , etc but it has to be NEW as we don't want them getting any skin infection due to the blankets not being new.
Here heavy woolens blankets are required to beat the cold winds in winters while in the winter temperatures can drop into the mid-30s F (about 1–2 °C).
And these displaced people are In camps.
We @ Street Providence are the only NGO from Goa on the ground in the camps across Manipur and all of you know by now all our volunteers are Goans from different fields in their respective professions giving their time and energy to assist and represent STREET PROVIDENCE.
It's a really difficult scenario presently for the displaced people in the camps and we togther can bring them that LITTLE WARM HOPE in small ways, as things are very very slowly returning to some state of normalcy but the poor children, ladies & elderly are the worst affected.
If you only search on Google about the struggle in the camps in Manipur you will get a better understanding of how you and we togther can bring that LITTLE  WARM  HOPE from 4000kms away in our beautiful Goa
Relief work on the scale that our NGO has undertaken is all about manpower , storage, transportation, packing , logistics and distribution and we have that strength to undertaken such a huge task of 10000 blankets.
We have two more drives for two more items coming up soon and again 10000 pcs each.
There is going to be huge mind wrecking logistical co ordination during these 3 drives of 10000 pcs each of items to beat the winter in Manipur for those in the camps but God's favour has made the impossible to possible.
All querries / suggestions/ views / complaints strictly through whatsapp messages on 8380097564 only.
God bless you all

TODAY THE SOCIAL WELFARE DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS INSPECTED OUR PROPOSED 1ST SHELTER HOME IN IMPHAL FOR THOSE WHO WILL BE HOMELESS AND SUFFERING FROM DISABILITIES

5.9.23. 7pm.IST
Our 2 member team which had spent 6 days in Manipur finally landed safely.
Was a bit nerve wrecking with the fighting in Churachandpur still going on while the team was in Manipur.
But on the other side ” today the Social Welfare Department officials inspected our proposed 1st shelter home in Imphal for those who will be homeless and suffering from disabilities “.
Our team member Mr Arturo Dsouza and the priests from Archdiocese of Imphal had visited on Friday ie 1.9.23 the Director of Social Welfare Department,  Imphal , Manipur.
The Director, Mr Ng Uttam Singh , was kind enough to accept our application for starting shelter homes for the homeless in Manipur.
The Director , Mr Ng Uttam Singh , instructed his staff to conduct an inspection on Monday ie 4.9.23 but it got postponed to Tuesday 5.9.23.
♡♡♡ We are grateful to The Archdiocese of Imphal, headed by Archbishop Rev Fr Domnic Lumon for giving us a place in Imphal to start a shelter home for the homeless with disabilites.
The upgradition & renovation is at our cost.
The running of this home is strictly by Street Providence.
Attached a video of the 1st such shelter home in Imphal👇👇
It's about 300 sq mts + and has couple of works to finish like false ceiling, tiling for the floor as well as adding washrooms and plumbing & electrical works to make it comfortable for the homeless & those with disabilities.
This is the second Archdiocese outside Goa providing us space to run shelter homes for the homeless with disabilites.
May end 2023 we had started our 1st shelter home outside Goa in Daltonganj diocese of Jharkhand where Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas had given us a small home in BUSHAR village  in the district of Latehar.
The MANIPUR RELIEF started by Street Providence was with specific parameters and with a Vision in mind and one of them was shelter homes for the homeless women & men especially for those suffering from mental disabilities.
We are delighted to be able to provide our services 4000 kms away to those affected in Manipur by providing :
☆ Dry ration – 50 tons sent another 50 tons going
☆ Children food – lactogen/ cerelac
☆ Education – by arranging for children fees
☆ Medication – more than rs 20 lacs sent
☆ Clothing – ladies & gents new innerwear
☆ Truck from Goa with rs 18 lacs material.
And now the most difficult service –  ☆Shelter home
Simply shouting and taking demonstration against the trouble in any situation does very little to the poorest of the poor .
What the poor and the displaced wants in any riot like situation is food clothing shelter medication & rehabilitation and that's what we do.
The difficult part is providing services in all areas, but by working with the Government and the authorities it's the only way forward and it's very touching that The Social Welfare Department, Manipur conducted a visit in just 3 working days after submitting our application at our 1st proposed shelter home in imphal .
♡♡♡ We thank all our benefactors who have been supporting MANIPUR RELIEF last two months as well as our staff and volunteers across Goa.
Once again we Thank God for the safe arrival of Arturo Dsouza & Joseph Fernandes in Goa.
God bless you all

HAD SENT TWO MEMBER TEAM TO MANIPUR ON 28.7.23 THEY DID THE JOBS THAT WERE ASSIGNED TO BOTH OF THEM ON THE PAST 6 DAYS

4.9.23. 8pm.IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA had sent a two member team to Manipur on 28.7.23
They reached safely into Manipur, did the jobs that were assigned to both of them in the last 6 days
Tomorrow 5.9.23 ,  they leave for Goa and will touch down at 11pm.
Arturo spent all the 6 days In Imphal & Kangpokpi District.
Arturo covered about 15 + relief camps / schools both in districts of Kangpokpi & imphal districts primarily distributing 48 crts or 1152 pkts of Lactogen, Cerelac & CEREGROW.
Arturo also visited a number of schools in both districts where we are providing fees to displaced children and met the teachers & the students.
Arturo had a lot of paperwork to complete including our 1st shelter home right in Imphal and today we were to have an Inspection of our shelter home by The Social Welfare Department, Government of Manipur but it got postponed.
Whereas Joseph was 5 days fully in Churachandpur district.
And during these 5 days, for full 3 days one side of Churachandpur had violence with gun fights and even deaths.
2 min video attached right on the border of the district👇👇
Check the details by using Google between 30th August to 1st September .
When Joseph entered Churachandpur the violence had just started but Joseph held his nerves and went about distributing the entire 1st relief truck which we had sent from Goa,  covering more than 30 + camps / schools of the 100 such camps across Churachandpur district.
Till last Saturday night ie 2.9.23 , I was contemplating moving Joseph by taxi to Aizawl and then getting him on a flight to Calcutta.
But some how the Priests from the Archdiocese of imphal , Don Bosco fathers and Security forces managed to get Joseph safely to Imphal using the route which best suited the need at that hour.
Attached a video of Joseph right on the border of Churachandpur – Imphal district.
What Joseph saw , understood and experienced is beyond what you & I know sitting here in the comfort of our homes.
Many places, relief is yet to reach and this is heard in both sides of relief camps.
Demands are huge as people are waiting for little little things in this big Churachandpur district.
Of course I have many sources across many district's of Manipur, and i am aware of the pain , the disappointment of being in camps , the uncertainty that those in camps are going throgh & so that's the reason our NGO has undertaken this risky, stressful, complicated and nerve racking ” Manipur Relief project “.
Our 2nd truck is leaving Goa mid September 23 to Churachandpur.
We have these trucks & these items planned in the coming months :
》3rd truck – 10000 new blankets
》4th truck – 10000 second hand blazers / ( suit coats ) with 2 free new pairs of socks per blazer.
》5th truck – 100000 note books & stationary items
》6th truck  – 400 crts of candies / hard sweets & second hand toys.
》7th truck – just before the start of Christmas goodies for 10000 people – cake & Bebinca
Watch out for our flyers in the coming weeks for the above 3rd to 7th truck. Please don't get excited.
Winter will be hard in the camps so blankets & blazers is a must
Note books & stationary big demand , as the children are idle with nothing to do at all
Candies/ sweets & second hand toys as there are children,  just like you and me who were once upon a time a child and today we too have our own little children & grand children. ( to some great grand children).
Christmas in Goa is celebrated by one & all and if we can bring a little of Goa, to those in the camps, it will bring out the true spirit COMMEMORATING the Birth of Jesus Christ.
For Diwali we are working on purchasing local sweets and sending to the relief camps in Imphal district only due to logistical issues.
We @ Street Providence Goa thank all our benefactors,  volunteers , staff , collaborators, etc for all the support to all our projects at our NGO.
Relief work is all about planning , logistics and manpower which makes us do what we are doing ” RELIEF TO THE THOSE IN CAMPS.”
All queries/ suggestions / views strictly through whatsapp messages only on 838009756
God bless you all.

THANKS PERPETUAL SUCCOUR HIGH SCHOOL, NAVELIM FOR DONATING 15 CRTS LACTOGEN NO 1, WORTH RS 1.5 lacs TOWARDS OUR MANIPUR RELIEF WORK

2.9.23. 7pm.IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA thanks Perpetual Succour High School, Navelim for donating 15 crts Lactogen No 1, Worth Rs 1.5 lacs towards our MANIPUR Relief work for infants and children in Camps.
♡♡♡ Our sincere thanks to Sr Liby , Headmistress of the School for arranging these 15 crts of Lactogen no 1.
In every  School, every teachers day ie 5th September,  students buys flowers or may be some gifts for the teachers.
This year the Management & teachers of this school, decided to contribute the same amount which would be spent on flowers,  for a worthy cause .
And so this Teachers Day in This school it will be more like a support and in Solidarity with the small infants and children in relief camps in Manipur.
And that's one of the best ways of celebrating TEACHERS DAY.
And this idea was the brain child of the Headmistress of the School, the ever smiling Sr Liby.
By the way Sr Liby is the President of the Headmasters Association of Goa and is well known across the Education field in Goa.
Only a Teacher can understand the needs of a child especially when the child can't go to school or circumstances such as the life in camps which makes Education very difficult.
As I write this post, one of our team members is in the Churachandpur district and has been visiting and distributing relief aid to camps and schools and one shocking discovery was ” in a particular area, one functioning school does not  have Electricity at all .”.
It's like pitch dark at night and children in this School hostel study with candles as Electricity is a luxury, infact in one such school we are attempting to donate a new Generator as well as Solar lamps.
Infact both Arturo & Joseph , currently in Manipur doing relief work are surprised at the no. of little children living not so good life in these camps
Sr Liby has shown her compassion and consideration by cutting down on flowers for this teachers day and encouraged the  Management ,fellow teachers & students to support the infants and small children in camps in Manipur.
Sr Liby was kind enough to inquire what we would accept from her school towards the MANIPUR Relief work.
Other Schools can also support such an idea and come forward and do the same .
Our next truck leaves Goa mid September to Churachandpur Manipur.
Big demand for :
☆ Stationary items
☆ Toys and recreational items
☆ Biscuits
☆ Etc
Once again A Happy Teachers Day on 5th September to all the Teachers especially to The Teachers of Perpetual Succour High School Navelim for this touching gesture.
All queries and communications strictly through whatsapp messages only on 8380097564.
God bless you all

Fr GABRIEL, PARISH PRIEST OF OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY CHURCH, NAVELIM IS A HUMAN BEING WHO UNDERSTANDS HUNGER AND DESPAIR IN RELIEF CAMPS IN MANIPUR

31.8.23. 7Pm IST
Fr Gabriel, Parish Priest of Our Lady of The  Rosary church, Navelim is a human being who understands hunger and despair in Relief Camps In Manipur.
A small video of yesterday function 👇
♡♡♡ With all humility and gratitude , I thank The parishioners of Our Lady of The ROSARY CHURCH Navelim Goa for their GENEROSITY , which was BEYOND my expectations, towards our MANIPUR relief work.

A 10 days collection drive in the Church got us 1581 pkts of Cerelac & lactogen worth rs 5.5 lacs  and 10 students fees @ 40000 each .
♡♡♡ Big Thanks to SSVP of Our Lady of The ROSARY CHURCH NAVELIM for all the support.
The plight of those in the relief camps are not good as its over 3 months to date but the donations are slowing down as its but natural.
It was an inspiration from The Holy Spirit to approach churches in Goa to ask for support in kind towards Manipur Relief work of our NGO.
Exactly 15 days ago I approached Mrs ROSELINE from SSVP Navelim if we could get support from the Parish priest which we wanted.
Fr Gabriel was briefed and he agreed to the suggestion.
I too called Fr Gabriel and explained my requirements and what I intended to ask help for.
On 20.8.2023, Sunday , Mr Arturo & Myself were at The Rosary Church Navelim,  where after all 4 Holy Masses we were given 5 minutes to speak to the congregation before the final hymn.
I requested for Cerelac & Lactogen boxes as that's the needs of the little infants and very small children in the camps
Arturo explained about the needs of the School fees to be paid for over 300 children whose data was given to us by The Archdiocese of Imphal.
The response was WAY WAY beyond my expectations.
But the most touching part was FR GABRIEL giving us an opportunity to address his congregation, in his church, along with which
Fr Gabriel requesting SSVP Navelim to do the collection, storage and sorting of the Cerelac & lactogen.
No diplomacy stories or going round the bush by Fr Gabriel.
Straight Yes was his reply.
Thats How I look at Fr Gabriel, Parish Priest of Our Lady of The ROSARY CHURCH Navelim, a human being who understands the actual needs of the poor hungry children in the camps and those children whose education fees need to be paid.
Parish Priests have the audience , the platform and the people want to give in kind to STREET PROVIDENCE as we are not collecting any CASH so it's WIN WIN situation for those in Manipur relief camps.
If other Parish Priests in Goa can also PLEASE allow us this facility of speaking to their congregation and collecting predetermined fixed items in their premises for the poor children & those in relief camps in Manipur.
Please don't collect anything without confirming with me.
Remember on the 16tb August , Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrao blessed our 1st truck from Goa to Manipur,  which boosted our work in Manipur, and the truck reached safely and as I write this post , our 2 member team is in Manipur distributing this same material to various relief camps in Churachandpur.
Another 2nd truck is planned for Manipur by mid September and the needs are many in the camps
We are not asking any donations in cash but only in kind and that too only fixed predetermined product ( not anything and everything ) which can be collected In so many churches in Goa.
In this case it was Cerelac & lactogen.
Total 65 cartoons in all.
♡♡♡ Once again A big thank you to all the Parishioners of Our Lady of The ROSARY CHURCH Navelim and The COMPASSIONATE Parish Priest Fr Gabriel not to leave out SSVP NAVELIM Parish & Mrs Roseline, who all made this possible togther with Street Providence Goa.
We operate strictly through whstsapp messages only on 8380097564
If you click on our above link you can see all the daily relief work currently happening in Manipur through Arturo & Joseph.
You can also find us on our website  Www.streetprovidencegoa.com

SHOWS YOU ACTUAL REHABILITATION OF A GENUINE GOANS OLD WIDOW SUFFERING FROM SEVERE DISABILITIES AND LIVING BELOW THE POVERTY LINE IN INHUMANE CONDITIONS

29.8.2023. 7 PM  IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA shows you actual rehabilitation of a genuine GOAN old widow suffering from severe disabilities and living below the poverty line in inhumane conditions & how much care Sr Mariya [ FMCK ] and the team @ our Cavelossim shelter home has put in to  bring her to the level what you see in the video attached👇👇
Lady is from Sanguem Constituency & was living in a home which was on the verge of collapse.
If I did not know the Social Welfare Minister of Goa, I would have never had accepted this lady.
One of the most, most difficult cases our NGO has ever handled.
Kamal was severely under nourished , totally unclean, no control over her bowels movement, suffering from NEURO issues, was crawling on her buttocks to move around.
Uncivilized & un Co operative,  but since the lady was from the Minister Constituency & really poor, we accommodate & we considered but she was on a pamper 24*7  &  wheel chair bound.
Sr Mariya ( FMCK ) our care giver used all her patience and tolerated all her short comings along with the shelter home women who were daily assigned duties in cleaning KAMAL.
Believe me it was not easy for many months as she could not control her bowels and would purposely remove the pamper & dirty the place.
Paralyzed one side with so many other complications which no one will ever want to handle and look after.
Slowly medication, hospital trips, check ups , massaging & PHYSIOTHERAPY brought about the change you see in the video.
Now, she has no pamper, communicates to use the wash room , disciplined, motivated to live , understands how she can get better.
In Cavelossim we have a Physiotherapy centre for our two shelter Homes in the same locality and this Physiotherapy Clinic is of big help to almost all the 40 inmates in both these Homes.
Few days back,  Sapnesh our manager even got Kamal to put her hands around him for support & started walking with support.
There are so many such KAMALs across Goa struggling to live a decent life but no activists ever highlights or makes videos of such poor old abandoned lonely widows.
As of today each village has 1 or 2 such KAMALs
& we can't rehab all of them as the homes are full.
The poor are increasing but who is interested in their welfare as there is no BIG money in highlighting their issues & fighting for them.
Shelter homes are often looked upon as that last option for such people but the costs of rehabilitating such people are so high & difficult that no one ventures into such services.
Street Providence Goa has been taking in pathetic & complicated cases for rehabilitation irrespective of the condition of the person while admitting as we DARE TO DREAM that everyone is HEALED and RECOVERY has already happened.
We belive the future and we speak LIFE , RECOVERY, GOOD HEALTH even if the person is not improving.
We Believe that EVERY ONE in our 8 shelter homes one day has to RECOVER & then help the others to RECOVER.
Many times we loose hope, disappointment arises,  misunderstanding pop up but I SEE THE SUFFERING CHRIST IN the poorest of the poor and mind you I never ever visit any of the shelter homes I run, as that's a principal I follow and there is a huge team employed to get the things moving.
My FAITH has to get the job done not my presence in the home.
If I am motivated naturally the team is motivated & if I am POSITIVE in my Thinking naturally the team is going to get the job done.
Today we have 6 trained lady nurses who Have completed 1 year of home nursing course & by January 2024 i will be having 16 such trained nurses to care for close to 100 such KAMALs across Goa crying quietly & living in pathetic conditions.
Very soon 2 more women shelter Homes will be starting in North & South Goa.
Both
The Social Welfare Minister &
The Women and Child Minister, Government of Goa should look into our problems and sort out our genuine issues otherwise one day we too will be forced to reconsider our services to the poorest of the poor in Goa
Few of our grants in both departments are not released as of date and I am at loss of Words why the delay.
We step in to do what the Government should be doing but for that Grant's have to move as nothing comes free especially when you have 175 + people and of which 110 are ethnic goans, and of which 120+ are people with disabilites of the total 175 +.
God bless you all

On Monday our team ( 3rd trip) is leaving for Manipur to oversee the distribution of the medicines & this relief truck.
Also we are starting renovation of our 1st shelter home for the homeless in Imphal as well as we are handling over education fees of the children who have been displaced due to the violence.
Besides the team has a few other areas of relief work to cover and sort out.
Only With the THE FAVOUR OF GOD and your prayers & blessings, this truck has reached safely and much ahead of time as I had calculated 15 days approx from Goa to Churachandpur.
♡♡♡ Thanks to DELHIVERY TRANSPORT COMPANY for taking care of all the logistics right from Goa to Churachandpur within flat 10 days.
♡♡♡ To all the benefactors who donated in kind and through cheques / NEFT,  please take note ” this is your relief truck not mine, we are only the link between you and the displaced people in Manipur “.
We are committed to the displaced people In Manipur for the next 6 months as of now.
Coming month another 50 tonnes of dry ration will be sent to different camps from Manipur itself.
Another Rs 20 lacs of Medicines are also planned for the coming months.
A truck full of toys is being considered from Goa to Manipur for the displaced children in camps ,
( 4th truck )
The 3rd truck will only contain note books and stationary as those thousands of displaced children in camps need to be occupied else there will be huge health issues.
We @ Street Providence understand life in camps especially where poor children are concerned.
We run 8+ shelter homes in Goa which are like mini camps , 9th home starting soon in Goa, so we know how and what life is in a camp and what needs to be done to keep the motivation up & running especially of the small children & people with disabilites.
I am not going to Manipur till we innaugrate the shelter home as I am having alot of
co ordination to do here in Goa.
Many good chosen tough people are already working with our NGO in Manipur and ” too many Cooks spoil the soup “
We request you to support our work in Manipur in the coming months as now life for the displaced will get tough and alot of help will be required.
All queries & requests strictly through whatsapp messages only on 8380097564.
God bless you all

25Aug/23

ONCE UPON A TIME, HAD ATTEMPTED SUICIDE, RESCUED, TREATED AT IPHB ,NOW ON 1 TABLET AND TODAY INCHARGE OF ORGANIZING 120+ PATIENTS PSYCHIATRIC MEDICATION ACROSS 8 + HOMES.

25.8.23. 7Pm IST
Once upon a time, had attempted suicide, rescued, treated at IPHB , put on 9 medicines per day , rehabilitated at our NGO, now on 1 tablet and today incharge of organizing 120+ patients psychiatric medication across 8 + homes.
No rocket science, Pure rehabilitation.
Street Providence Goa has been for the last 6 years caring for all types of poor & homeless people suffering from Disabilities, HIV , Suicide tendencies, drug addicts & alcoholics, unwed mothers, widows , Abandoned parents, etc.
Each time I decide to accept an admission it's a tough decision to make as I am not professionally qualified to handle all these above type of people but it's the SYSTEM that has been created/ got created / linked/ etc which makes our 8 + shelter homes a unique model in Goa.
Well the man in the video Mr Abhishek Roy & his sister had both attempted suicide and in this attempt their mother too attempted and did not survive,  but they both survived.
Sounds scary? Well it was back then when I met them at IPHB.
Well they were under immense pressure and stress and highly complicated yet homeless & desperate to start life again.
Imagine you end up in a state with no one, lost your mother, police case , admitted into IPHB , treated and now you have to go out of the hospital.
But go where ? No money ? 10 big bags , a sister who suffers from severe bouts of fits & both of them on Severe psychiatric medications.
That day it was tough call to make but as a human being towards two fellow human beings
” we opened our doors to both of them “.
Both were highly disturbed and I was disappointed as it was really difficult to handle them.
Lazy , crazy , disruptive, complicated , argue, complain and so many medicines per day which made them loose their interest in life.
It was challenging initially.
But on the positive side Abhishek could read & write English fluently, no habits of alcohol , cigarettes or tobacco , was clean in his daily habits but very very talkative and too many questions.
He was hurt & disappointed in life and wanted to be in the center of everything.
Slowly he understood my mind but not before we had told him to leave our home many times as he was always asking questions.
We as a team assured him our support and reassured him that his sister would be taken care and looked after LIFE LONG provided he took responsibility of small things in the home and was accountable for these small works in the house.
It worked.
He was given a few bed ridden / wheel chair bound men to clean , shave, bathe , feed and care for which he did systematically and diligently.
He was then sent to hospitals ie IPHB & GMC with our patients for their monthly evaluations & check ups where he met the same doctors who once were treating him for his psychiatric issues.
He was then made an incharge of a shelter home where the responsibility of giving daily psychiatric medications to the others in the home was his responsibility
ABHISHEK found his purpose in life .
He was now at peace and slowly his medication from 9 tablets a day settled to just 1 tablet a day.
He was totally set free of his demons & his past.
We have perfected the ART of REHABILITATING those with Suicidal tendencies and today we care for 10 such people diagnosed with Suicidal tendencies but absolute 💯 % normal.
ABHISHEK accepted his mistakes and was ready to let go of the hurts which was the reason his mind would allow him to work.
And that daily work of going to hospitals with other homeless people suffering from Disabilities was just what was needed to stir and fire his spirit up.
Once a pain in the neck , was now an integral part of our shelter homes for homeless men with disabilities.
15.7.23 he was brought to porvorim shelter home and instructed to keep an eye on all the 120+ inmates medication which he started doing faithfully.
Moment the regular staff quit without notice , Abhishek took over.
This month ABHISHEK ROY got all this organized in 8 hours flat in one day and the icing on the cake was ” once a psychiatric patient in this same hospital,  this month sitting with the big doctor ( CONSULTANT / ASST PROFESSOR ) and even got medication for 30+ patients for 2 months in advance “.
The staff for two years would complete the same process in 4 to 5 days every month.
For a CONSULTANT/ ASST PROFESSOR to entertain Mr ABHISHEK ROY and prescribe the medication in one day and see that he gets what is needed is not Childs play .
That speaks VOLUMES of our way of REHABILITATION PROGRAM we have been running FREE of COST for the poorest of the poor & the homeless with disabilites.
Not many will understand this post , but it's like this is short sleeve English ” once REJECTD today A LIGHT TO THOSE REJECTED “.
By 29th of this month,  all 120+ inmates monthly medication boxes will be prepared in Porvorim home by Abhishek, checked by Sapnesh and sent to all 8 homes.
Not a freaking easy job even for a fully paid normal employee as there are 3 different check lists with 3 different people before it reaches the homes .
GOD does not abandon the homeless and the poor.
Our NGO works on systems and its All The Favour of God.
Medication is the most difficult, complicated and mind blowing activity in our shelter homes as not all Medication are given free by IPHB.
We also order from Antilla Generic pharmacy , Guirim,  as well as from a big wholesaler in New Delhi and this is all a patient & systematic process which is inbuilt in a system.
Like I tell many ” I created many systems over the last 6 years and no matter who comes & goes the systems take care of the NGOs needs across all sectors like rehabilitation, food bank , Physiotherapy clinics, Vocational training sessions, Art & craft sessions, relief work , etc.,”
At Street Providence I have faced many storms and disappointment but we have only grown as I have understood from BRO JOHNSON teaching
” Storms are meant to build you up “.
When the foundation is solid , the intentions are clear , when there is The Favour of God , nothing can stop GODs work.
At Street Providence we provide assured time frame for rehabilitation patients suffering from severe disabilities irrespective of their situation at the time of their admission.
No case is too difficult to handle at Street Providence especially for those diagnosed with severe mental disabilities.
It's a JOY to bring a smile back on the face of Abhishek Roy once on 9 tablets daily , today only on 1 psychiatric tablet.
God bless you so much
