HEALING THROUGH FARMING: OUR ORGANIC FARM AT OROS, MAHARASTRA

A place where barren land and broken lives are transformed through purpose, hard work, and hope.

1. From Barren Land to Productive Soil : What was once dry, unused land has been carefully developed into a thriving organic farm. Through dedication and teamwork, the land now produces healthy crops and supports our rehabilitation programme.
2. Our Greenhouse : The greenhouse allows us to grow vegetables in a protected environment throughout the year. It is also a valuable learning space where residents actively participate in cultivation and care.
3. Growing Fresh Vegetables : Outside the greenhouse, we grow seasonal vegetables including brinjals, lady fingers, chillies, capsicum and other nutritious crops that help support our shelter homes.
4. A Bumper Harvest : The success of the farm is reflected in its abundant harvests. Every crop represents the effort, commitment and pride of our residents and staff.

Sustainable Living : We also grow fodder for animals and rear goats and chickens for milk and eggs. This integrated approach promotes sustainability while teaching valuable life skills. At Street Providence, we are not just growing vegetables. We are cultivating dignity, self-worth and a brighter future for some of society’s most vulnerable individuals.

Farming for Healing and Well-Being : Our residents—men and women from our shelter homes—work together on the farm every day. Farming provides routine, responsibility, confidence and emotional well-being, making it an important part of the rehabilitation process.
