PRESENTS YOU THIS HOMELESS MAN , WHO JUST 3 MONTHS BACK, WAS LITERALLY STRUGGLING TO LIVE ON THE STREETS , BUT TODAY IS FIT AND ROCKING.

27.4.2021 8pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA , presents you this homeless man , who just 3 months back,  was literally struggling to live on the streets , but today is fit and rocking.
On 16.1.2021, Hubert Saldanha from Miramar,  requested us to get Mr Lal Bahadur , an elderly man ,  help as he was sitting outside Lawande Electricals Panjim, for over 6 months in a dirty and sad state.
Our volunteers got him off the streets and into our home.
The day we picked him,  he was all soiled in his urine  and his feaces with terrible smell around him .
Alcohol had overtaken his body and his nerves were very weak.
For close to a month he was on a wheel chair and one man would massage his legs daily.
Doctor played a major part In his detoxification and his recovery to an extent he can now stand,  walk,  have a bath,  use the washroom .
No trouble now.
Attached a picture of him when picked up
Also his picture as of today
Watch the 4 min video of him walking that day and today.
Enjoy the light music at 3 min 3 seconds👇
Getting such men off the streets is very difficult and expensive as numerous blood tests have to be done to understand their medical history.
Blood tests are very very expensive .
Per man atleast 6 to 8 tests within the 1st three months to understand what he is carrying in his body and what medicine is required to stabilize him.
With a good Doctor as our volunteer who even visits the home late night after his work ,  the recovery of our men are very quick and fast.
♡♡ Thanks to Hubert Saldanha for following up with me those days to get Lal Bahadur off the streets.
With Covid spreading quickly , alot of such helpless homeless people will require rehabilitation.
Its going to be a very risky and dangerous situation picking up such homeless people.
But we are going to get as many as possible off the streets.
We @ Street Providence are committed during this very crucial stage of the pandemic  to help the old , sick , abandoned homeless street men in Goa .
Plus now touching any homeless person is risky due to COVID , but yet we need to show and live HUMANITY .
Your support is what we require
Support us in whatever way you can.

We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.

GRATITUDE TO OUR FRONT LINE COVID WARRIORS.

24.4.2021  7 pm IST
Gratitude to our FRONT LINE COVID WARRIORS.
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA stands with our front line covid warriors @ Mapusa Police Station by cleaning up their WASHROOMS.
Police personnel in Goa , are again this year started being the front line warriors in the fight against covid.
Exactly 4 years back, we started our mission of working for the homeless street people and it was through MAPUSA POLICE STATION that we were able to start.
At that time the Dysp was Mr Dias & the PI was Mr Tushar Lotlikar.
Till date more than 160 + homeless men & women have been brought off the streets only through this Police station @ Mapusa.
Today there is a another Dysp but the PI is still Mr Lotlikar ( in between for many months the PI was transfered )
And believe me the staff of the entire Police station, under the command of
PI Tushar Lotlikar has always been considerate and compassionate towards the homeless.
As a sign of Gratitude our homeless street men have decided to clean up WASHROOMS of THE POLICE STATIONS and the priority will be of those Police stations who have been active in getting the homeless of the streets.
We started with Mapusa Police Station.
Have you ever heard of anyone cleaning up WASHROOMS ?
Since most of our homeless men are picked from streets, where sanitation and hygiene is very bad,  cleaning of washrooms by them is not very tough.
The men who basically are under going detoxification and rehabilitation,  can't just be fed and kept un occupied the whole day.
Our homeless men are semi plumbers, mason's,  etc .
With such manpower,  why not allow them to put their skills to use .
Our homeless men  too wish to be part of this fight against COVID , and any front line warriors always wishes to enter into a clean and neat washroom.
Our homeless men a few months back even upgraded 2 toilets at Mapusa Police Station, one which is used exclusively for all the LPSI.
Quite often at this Police Station and other police stations we carry out fogging and sanitization which is done by these homeless men.
If any other Police Station or outpost requires our free service,  the PI can always get in touch with us .
And mind you , we at Street Providence are here to serve the homeless as well as  those who support us in our mission of eradicating homelessness.
May be once our free services of cleaning WASHROOMS are appreciated :
☆ 1. the Government may consider us on a small remuneration so that these homeless men can atleast earn a livelihood instead of begging on the streets.
☆ 2. And we too can get few of our expenses met in running our homes.
Rest assured this post is too encourage you if possible to go out there where ever you are and do something small for our FRONT LINE COVID Warriors .
No negative comments or criticism on this post about the Government,  as these are testing times for our FRONT LINE COVID WARRIORS.
Each of these FRONT line covid warriors can be yours , ours or some ones brother, sister,  father,  mother, etc.
If you can support the FRONT LINE COVID WARRIORS , please do , else relax.
God bless you

IS LOOKING TO LEASE, RENT OR BUY ( with your support) THIS WOODEN HOUSE AS ATTACHED WITH THIS POST.

22.4.2021  7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA , is looking to lease,  rent or buy ( with your support) this wooden house as attached with this post.
With curfew in Goa and cases rising,  homeless and street people will be badly hit.
Last year we managed during the entire lockdown to take off the streets more than 100 such men (may be even more)
Last year during the lockdown we were In Margao home , and there were many old classrooms which we used as isolation for 14 days for many many homeless men for over 6 months.
That's the reason last year , non of our homeless men got infected.
Yes we has no covid infected men in any of our homes last year as we took alot of trouble in fighting the virus with strict rules, checks and procedures.
And we were the only NGO during the entire lockdown,  accepting freely homeless street men.
This year we don't have that liberty as we are not in Margao anymore.
With the current strain not showing sign of much symptoms like last year , our shelter homes will need to take extra caution.
With no isolation rooms available in any of our shelter homes the only option available is to install such wooden temporary structure.
Per wooden home, 6 such men who are on the streets can be isolated for 14 days before admitting them into our main home.
This wooden structure will be in the vicinity of the home.
Basic infrastructure like 1 sink , 1 toilet cum bathroom with a light and a fan .
Lets assume it takes min 6 months to normalize,  we can comfortably get off 72 such men .
6 men = 14 days
12 men = 1 month
72 men = 6 months
Otherwise we will have to stop taking homeless men off the streets as the risk is too much.
Already Doctor is on his toes with few men having slight temperature at times.
Everyone men is put on inhalation 3 times a day with twice a day temperature checks.
This 1 hut costs approx Rx 4 lacs with complete installation.
This is how we are prepared to help those on the streets in the coming months.
@ Rs 5500 per men, (Rs 400000 ÷ 72 men) you can have enjoy that good sense of humanity that you too played your part in your home by supporting us .
Otherwise we might have to think twice before directly getting homeless men of the streets.
Too , too much of risk involved.
All our full time staff have families with young children as well as elderly parents.
One way our staff health has to be safe guarded & on the other side the homeless,  especially the type of men we pick will need to get into a shelter.
Any other type of arrangements are ruled out as our homes are on rent and constructing new rooms are not possible In today scenario.
If there is any big old building or far flung home to accommodate homeless men then we can accept on lease or rent.
We @ Street Providence are committed during this very crucial stage of the pandemic  to help the old , sick , abandoned homeless street men in Goa .
Plus now touching any homeless person is risky due to COVID , but yet we need to show and live HUMANITY .

PRESENTS YOU 2 HOMELESS MEN SUFFERING FROM TERRIBLE SKIN DISEASE

21.4.2021  7 pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA presents you 2 homeless men suffering from terrible skin disease 1 month back , on the verge of kicking the bucket , today completely healed and alive & active.
Read on.
Attached 2 pictures and 1 short video of their testimony of recovery. 👇
♡♡ Arjun and Pawal were daily fed at the mapusa taxi stand,  by Napolean and their condition was sad and pathetic.
Malnourished , weak , full of sores and scabies and itch, drinking to kill the pain and hunger.
Napolean realized that they were sinking very fast and called our volunteer Doctor one night on streets of Mapusa.
Doctor suggested immediate rehabilitation and agreed to treat them if they were to survive.
That night itself we with the help of Mapusa Police , moved them to our home and isolated them for 15 days.
For the 1st three days they were so weak and started vibrating as there was no alcohol.
Withdrawal symptoms was what they were going thru.
Slowly they stopped vibrating and they started eating food,  etc.
Within the next 15 days all the itch, sores , scabies, etc all got healed and today they are absolutely 💯% normal with expensive medicines,  dressing and blood tests.
Two very young lives saved from sure death and that too a miserable one.
When I saw them that night,  belive me , I was not ready to touch them.
Doctor had to convince me that he would cure and treat them.
Doctor being an MBBS cum Ortho cum Psychiatrist,  detoxified them 1st and then treated them for the skin disease.
Doctor did a great and quick job.
Both were stick and bone , barely could stand, forget walk and soaked up in their urine and feaces with puss and what not oozing out of their body .
Today they have agreed to stay back and clean up and tend to other men getting off the streets.
We would like to help more to get off the streets but the space is an issue.
If you know such men suffering on the streets in GOA only  and require rehabilitation send me their picture and we will try to help if we can find space in our home.
Plus now touching any homeless person is risky due to COVID , but yet we need to show and live HUMANITY .

THANKS MR. LEVIN FROM THE DEPT OF PLANNING , STATISTICS & EVALUATION, PORVORIM

20.4.2021  7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA , thanks MR. LEVIN FROM THE DEPT OF PLANNING , STATISTICS & EVALUATION,  PORVORIM , for assisting our NGO in conducting 3 Adhar Camps at our homes.
♡♡ Also Big Big thanks to Mr Noel Fernandes from Saligao , a gazetted officer who certified our application forms of these homeless men.
♡♡ Thanks to our manager Sapnesh Salgaonkar for all the follow up and the other paper work in getting these Aadhar identification cards prepared.
Running free shelter homes for the homeless is not an easy task.
Very Frustrating and huge paper work involved.
☆ 1. With the new Disability Act being passed and ready to be implemented, all shelter homes looking after disabled people require to be having a license or a registration certificate from the Dept Of Social Welfare.
☆ 2. To get this registration certificate, each disabled person requires to have an individual disability certificate issued by GMC or IPHB.
☆ 3.To get the individual Disability certificate  the individual needs to have an identification  ie AADHAR CARD .
☆ 4. To get an AADHAR CARD , these homeless people require to have their documents.
How many such disabled homeless street people do you think have any papers?
NONE have papers.
Thanks to the Government of India , which has kept an option open in the system,   today we have managed to acquire basic identification ie AADHAR CARD for our homeless street people.
Now with their identification in place,  these poor homeless people,  can avail of
▪︎1. Covid Vaccine
▪︎2. Treatment at hospital
▪︎3. Government benefits like ration
▪︎4. Dignity and sense of being recognized as an registered Indian .Etc.
The last 2 months has been very hectic with tons and tons of paperwork acquiring these Adhar cards and the disability certificates for these individuals.
Many many times I thought of giving up and quitting this service.
Initially we were frustrated by officials,  doctors,  etc as we tried to get the AADHAR CARDS & THE DISABILITY CERTIFICATE done.
It's only through our commitment towards the homeless, that kept us following up with the paper work, numerous hospital trips,  etc  and yes, a few SOS messages to the concerned Ministers that we have manged to reach this far.
Looking forward to our  Registration Certificate  being issued ASAP.
Today most Government officials & Doctors at both IPHB & GMC understand that these homeless people are not my own relatives but are homeless and lost and they consideration and wlingness to help our NGO and for this I am grateful.
Paper work kills you .
And it's not just 1 or 2 application , its more than 80 + homeless people we are talking about.
Small piece of advice :
For those providing service to people with disabilities,  please do get their individual disability certificates as well as the organization Registration Certificate done with Dept of Social Welfare.
Government of India through the Social Welfare Dept has many many schemes available for these individuals with disabilities as well as the homes which provide shelter to people with disabilities.
Starting the paperwork is killing but once the Grant / Scheme is allocated then the organisation saves alot of money on infrastructure and other expenses involved in running shelter homes for the disabled.
Lastly, I once again thank Mr Levin & Mr Noel , both who supported our dream of providing basic identification to the homeless people at Street Providence.
God bless you all

ADMITS INTO OUR HOME THIS POOR GOAN YOUNG MAN , 35 YEARS OLD , FROM SOUTH GOA

16.4.2021  7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA admits into our home   this poor Goan young man , 35 years old , from a South Goa , with severe mental  disabilities due to a severe road accident as a result of which 1/3 of his brain got totally damaged.
Read on .
2 months back a lady calls up and cries and explains her situation.
Attached his picture backwards.
She explains how her husband met with a terrible accident 3 years ago and damaged his brain as a result of which 1/3 rd of his brain is like not functioning & he is 70% mentally disabled with a certified certificate.
She informs that their only child is also mentally challenged.
10 years old , can't speak as yet .
They stay on rent in a small room .
She has a job in a factory on daily wages and keeps the child with the neighbour.
But her husband is totally harassing her and hammering her , shouting and abusing so badly that , for the last 6 months he has been hospitalized for treatment.
Husband is actually not mad , but because of the accident and the brain loss,  he gets violent and abusive.
I can't explain more as its really complicated and difficult to write.
No one has been willing to help her with rehabilitation as they cant afford the fees .
We opened our doors on humanitarian grounds.
The man will require monthly blood tests , as he will require constant monitoring of his medication as nothing is working on him.
In my few years of my handling such cases, this is the most complicated and complex , but I still feel that in 6 months with human touch , company , homely food , recreation and light exercise , there will be drastic changes for the better in this man life .
He may not be perfect.
But atleast he will one day not be violent and aggressive and abusive towards his wife .
I was taught  by BJ , many years back , to make visions of the result I desire and this is my vision of this man 6 months from now.
It's a challenge and we are ready to accept the challenge.
After all only 35 years old .
Thanks to our volunteer DOCTOR who encouraged us to accept this man.
Without a DOCTOR monitoring him , it would be a big NO & next to impossible to rehabilitate.
For us it's more about HUMANITY and GOEKARPONN.
For the DOCTOR , it's a service  to get such cases to a better living facility than a closed environment.
You support to us through your donations both in kind and cheque is what makes us go back to the streets searching for the lost , those in alcohol , the drug abused , the sick  the lonely & the hungry , the mentally and physically challenged.
We also accept people from homes on a case to case basis with proper medical reports and a doctor recommendation who are suffering from severe mental and physical disabilities.
Please donate to our NGO generously.
You get 50% rebate under section 80G of the
INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.
We accept only CHEQUES / NEFT with your pan card copy .

PICKS UP MR. SILVER / SILVAN ( who says is from Kumta Karnataka ) JUST OUTSIDE THE HOSPITAL IN BAMBOLIM TODAY .

14.4.2021  7pm IST
♡♡ Suzette Advani from Dona Paula , puts in alot of effort to convince me to help this very fragile man , totally undernourished and suffering from bed sores from the streets of Bambolim , Goa .
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA , picks Mr Silver / Silvan ( who says is from Kumta Karnataka ) just outside the hospital in Bambolim today .
The 2 short videos if you see will tell u all. 👇
On the footpath,  in the heat and sun , covered by the traffic barrier , near an open drain,  close to the main road having continuous traffic for over 10 days .
We picked him today at 4 pm but after cleaning him realised he has many many BED SORES and that too a very very big one just above his b..b
Now this is going to be a very difficult case to handle as he cant walk, cant sit on a chair , not sure about his toilet habit and plenty of dressing and treatment with endless trips in the heat from Assnora home to the hospital in porvorim.
Let's not forget the cases are rising and we have to pay for all medical treatment in GMC as we get nothing free inspite of doing the government work of looking after these homeless street men who come with all and sundry medical issues.
At 25 kgs weight , not sure how he survived in this inhumane conditions on a NATIONAL HIGHWAY in the vicinity of GMC hospital .
Thank God he did not fall into that open drain .
The most easy part is requesting to pick the homeless which we try to comply with.
The difficult and the toughest part is the wounds which constantly require dressing , keeping a check on their pressure and sugar levels and when one is incapacitated.
Your support is what we require.
Medication, hospital trips and dressing is what takes away ones resources and time .
Should there not be some way out to help and assist such homeless,  sick,  street people ?
Are their lives not important in this world ?
Cant the authorities support and encourage more NGOs to open their doors to these homeless men who are literally living and dying on the roads especially the old and infirmed.
You support to us through your donations both in kind and cheque is what makes us go back to the streets searching for the lost , those in alcohol , the drug abused , the sick  the lonely & the hungry .
Please donate to our NGO generously.
You get 50% rebate under section 80G of the

THANKS ALL THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE, BENEFACTORS , RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS AND A 101 YEAR OLD LADY

5.4.2021   7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA thanks all the wonderful people, benefactors , religious institutions  and a 101 year old lady who generously donated kitchen equipment to our shelter homes.
Early March 21 , we had uploaded a post on social media,  requesting for second hand or new kitchen equipment for all our shelter homes for the homeless street people.
As our shelter homes are close to 3 years old ,  most of our kitchen equipment was either falling apart or was getting rusted,  broken or not giving the expected output .
♡♡ Big big thanks to
☆1. SSVP of Navelim Church , who within 24 hours of the post , bought new plates,  spoons, utensils etc worth more than rs 25000 if I can put a figure , ( Can be more ) under the guidance of our old supporter Mrs Roseline & the entire team
☆ 2. Parishioners of Rosary Church , Caranzalem who generously donated more than Rs 1 lac,  both in equipment and through cheques , under the initiative of Mr Alfwold who is a senior citizen and a PPC member .
☆ 3. An elderly 101 year old lady from Margao who sent us a very very big cheque and asked us to buy the items which we did not get from others.
☆ 4. Various families &  individuals who bought small small things as well as gave us good second hand equipment from their homes which are currently being used in our shelter homes.
☆ 5. To all our benefactors who donated through cheques / Neft for this cause.
Sorry if I did not name all those who donated to our shelter homes.
We are starting 2 more shelter homes soon  and I am sure we have received all the necessary kitchen equipment for these 2 homes as well .
We even have given some kitchen equipment to poorer families which we had received extra .
I must thank God and the ever growing list of benefactors,  that during the entire last accounting year 2020 – 21 , inspite of the pandemic , we met all our budgets because YOU ,  yes,  You the benefactors have blessed us @ Street Providence generously without doubting us , inspite of messages circulated in a city in south Goa .
Those who know “CONCERNING WORRY & FEAR  ” will understand , THAT GOD PROVIDES ALL OUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY .
Infact after the messages were circulated in early Jan 2021 , from a City in South Goa , we experienced even more donations and blessings from these many people who received these messages on their phones through WhatsApp,  and called me and told me , we are with you and will always help Street PROVIDENCE .
I even tracked these messages through our sources and was on the verge of filing a case through the CYBER Crime branch , when a very senior Goa Police Officer , told me LEAVE THEM.
He told me ”  GOD WILL BLESS YOU MORE , these are all frustrated elements who cant digest the work being done “.
It's like you cheat me and then try to spoil my name through your henchmen & henchwomen.
You are all forgiven .
And mind you these messages were all from my community and from volunteers who in the past worked with me , served the poor on the streets through our food bank fridges  , ran the kerala flood relief with me , and …….
If any time any one wants any clarification about Street Providence always be free to contact our Trustee Adv Caroline Colasso , a practicing High Court Advocate and a well known activist across Goa.
Cool and calm lady who will always give you the truth and the truth .
You support to us through your donations both in kind and cheque is what makes us go back to the streets searching for the lost , those in alcohol , the drug abused , the sick  the lonely & the hungry .
