Rs 25 lacs WORTH OF FOOD DISTRIBUTED ACROSS GOA DURING THE 4 MONTHS ie 23.3.2020 to 19.7.2020

20.7.2020 6pm IST
Rs 25 lacs worth of food ( and a few non edible stuff ) distributed across Goa during the 4 months ie 23.3.2020 to 19.7.2020 by
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR SANGOLDA, GOA &
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA.
All daily details on our Website
We place before you in an excel sheet to all our :
☆ Trustees,
☆ Benefactors,
☆ Volunteers,
☆ Associates,
☆ Supporters,
☆ Collaborators,
☆ Critics,
☆ Friends,
☆ And all on Social media platform.
This very small contribution to our SOCIETY in GOA , by one of the youngest and smallest NGOs has been only possible because of YOU our BENEFACTORS who have contributed voluntarily in so many forms like :
Cheques / NEFT ,
Kind in the form of ration ,
Those who paid our Bill's directly ,
strictly only because of SOCIAL MEDIA medium platform.
Very few benefactors have met me but yet we managed to put all resources together for the poorest of the poor .
I apologize to any BENEFACTOR if I went off track during this 4 months and please be free to WhatsApp me your advice incase you feel I need correction.
Thanks to our trustees for the support.
Big Big thanks to the numerous VOLUNTEERS ( and our FOOD BANK fridges who took the trouble to distribute food in their locality daily) right across GOA who voluntarily came whenever the need arose to help in the distribution of food grains, packaged food, meals, daily breakfast , etc .
Like I always state , STREET PROVIDENCE & FOOD BANK is & will always be a VOLUNTEER based NGO and not bsaed on 1 person.
But the biggest ACHIEVEMENT I would like to highlight is we TOOK OFF THE STREET 25 homeless people during the lockdown and provided them rehabilitation.
Thanks to GOA POLICE for doing all the paperwork and taking the trouble to provide relief to these 25 homeless street people at our homes .
Took a big risk but am sure it was the wisest decision to open our doors to those in worst time of this shutdown .
Another few points to be noted is
▪︎1. We did not throw out or ask to leave any of our homeless people during this COVID.
▪︎2. We spent over rs 4 lacs on operations, treatment , transportation and hospitalization on a few homeless street people during this COVID.
We are now on a 10 days break .
All activity are shut as we have to attend to our homeless sick people in our homes and get a few days recharge of our batteries.
We are not serving food as of today in GOA neither are we accepting any homeless street people as the houses are almost full.
Will come back with a new plan by 1st August depending on the situation.
Big appreciation to these establishments :
♡ Creamux bakery : for sliced breads
♡ Navtara : pre packed meals
♡ Pradosh Amoncar : cooked food (FREE
♡ Maria porvorim : morning breakfast
♡ Sarang kerkar porvorim : NANS / rotis
♡ Anil bakery assagao : bread / pav
♡ Nizamuddin mapusa yard : bananas
♡ Dark Sensation : sliced cake
♡ Dinesh Anjuna : batatwada
♡ Coca cola : minute maid JUICEs (FREE
♡ Zuzart : Tan water
♡ Giving for Goa ( free cooked food )
For charging us cost to cost at no profit no loss basis.
It's just wonderful going out there and reaching out to so many many people.
I must have done the least work by staying in the office and co coordinating the entire operation as well as raising resources .
A BIG THANKS TO these few full time STREET PROVIDENCE VOLUNTEERS:
▪︎1. SAPNESH SALGAONKAR our Operation incharge who single handedly with his cool nature and die hard attitude followed and relayed instructions down the line .
▪︎2. Rajesh Laate who drove non stop 3 months where ever there was a need to either drop food , pick food or rehabilitate a homeless person found on the streets
▪︎3. Edward Oliver a senior citizen from porvorim who helped us non stop morning to night with the pick up and dropping of food .
▪︎4. Napolean Fernandes from Mapusa who served food and till the last day served food in various places and provided his time as and then we requested.
▪︎5. Two brothers from Donvaddo, SALIGAO ,
Vijay & Prakash who offered their time almost daily in moving cooked food non stop across Goa .
▪︎6. Samir Parishad who served non stop food till june 15 at various places designated to him .
▪︎7. Our food bank fridges at
☆ Velim – Mrs Elaine
☆ Old Goa – Sr fatima FMCK
☆ San jose de areal – Sam
( Entire April & May they accepted food from us and fed daily in their area ).
▪︎8. Engr Orlando ( olly ) from Benaulim who held our fort in south GOA and did a fantastic job both at the food bank as well as looking after our 2 homes during this 3 months.
Last I thank my 2 other Trustees :
▪︎1. Adv Caroline for serving food non stop 45 days in and around mapusa to 50 odd senior citizens with her team .
▪︎2. Joanita Pinto my sister ( and her husband John ) for all the back office work , records , documentation, phone calls, reports, etc.
A big sorry to all those who I lost my cool on or who I was rude, demanding , pushy , who I took for granted.
When the going gets tough , the tough gets going .
There are many many more who I did not name , Yet all did their part and we were able to do so little @ Rs 25 lacs .
God bless you all

STREET PROVIDENCE GETS 2 ORPHAN CHILDREN OFF THE stree6ts & INTO OUR HOME WITH THEIR GRANDFATHER

11.7.2020 10am IST
Street Providence gets 2 ORPHAN CHILDREN off the streets & into our home with their grandfather .
These 2 children aged 12 & 13 have gone through alot of suffering .
Few years ago their father died.
15 days back their mother died in the hospital.
While the mother was in the hospital both children were with the mother .
Police were aware of the situation but am not sure why the police did not get them off the streets
2 days back, 3 pm , I get a call from a bank manager ( private bank ) stating that these children require to get off the streets in rural GOA.
The children have been living and sleeping at the bus stop in the rain and mess and I am not aware who came to feed them all these days .
I am aware that the manager gave them food for 2 days and the manager was terribly upset at their living conditions.
Thanks to Goa Police , particularly the Inspector and the PSI of that station who went out of their way to do all their paper work and the Police even dropped them to our home which is more than 50 kms .
Today the children are in our CHILDREN HOME .
Quite smart. But not from Goa .
Real sad and fearful that they could have ended up either kidnapped, exploited or just sold or popped away for domestic work or bonded labour.
I too am in state of shock that 15 days they survived in the rain .
Surely God had better plans.
They will now be admitted into another school and looked after till 10th std .
☆ One is in 7th
☆ One is in 8th .
Ask our children at home not to grumble . there are many such kids on streets and bus stops with no one to care for them and feed them.
Incase we get good volunteers we can cover entire Goa picking up and looking after these abandoned children.
Think ? Do you have this calling.
Please those who can support these 2 children please let me know for their :
Education
Medical
Clothes
May be you can even create a FIXED DEPOSIT or MUTUAL FUND in their name for the future.
( Plesse don't rattle your brains much if you are interested in the above point .)
Big responsibility on my head as they are just kids .
And these 2 children on wet bus stop with no future absolutely in mind for 15 days .
And this is in GOA .
Thanks to Adv Caroline & Sapnesh who spent about 5 hours getting the details and paper work in order.
Thanks to Goa Police personal who in the last 3 days brought about 8 people off the streets and another 16 more are getting off the streets once the paper work is done .
That's why STREET PROVIDENCE supports GOA POLICE.
Its next to impossible to run around entire Goa picking up homeless people Without the support of the Police .
The Police inspite of so many other issues are still TRYING their best to get the homeless of the streets to our homes .
Support us through your :
Prayers
Resources
As a volunteer only those who have a driving license in both north & south GOA.

DONATED 52 Nos. ELECTRIC KETTLES TO SP @ SOUTH GOA DISTRICT..

17.7.2020 2 pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST, GOA stands with our Front Line Covid Warriors @ Goa Police.
We have donated 52 nos Electric kettles to SP @ SOUTH GOA DISTRICT along with Dysp QUEPEM .
In the picture left to right :
▪︎Psi Gokuldas
▪︎Orlando our volunteer south GOA.
▪︎Myself
▪︎Sapnesh Salgaonkar , Operation                   incharge
▪︎Freddy our Trustee .
A) 15 main police stations – 2 nos each ,
1 for the Inspector & 1 for the entire station.

B ) 18 outposts in the entire South Goa District – 1 no each

C) 4 SDPOs in South Goa District – 1no each
Why electric kettles ?
See the rains and the way the foot soldiers of Goa Police are maintaining the lockdown, it's really brave of them to perform their duties while I am at home comfortable.
They are at :
▪︎Roundabouts
▪︎Bus stops
▪︎Open areas
▪︎Sometimes in totally unhygienic areas
( please no negative comments).
They too have families and children to get home too.
With these ELECTRIC KETTLES , they can drink hot water or make a quick cup of tea or some hot beverage.
In this Covid pandemic , I and the core team at Street Providence drink every afternoon, 1 glass of hot water with half lime and 1 pinch of baking soda after lunch.
Besides daily atleast 5 times a day our core team does gargling with hot water and pinch of local salt .
So in the same way, our Front Line Warriors can use these kettles for multiple uses.
We only request these Police Personal @ Goa Police to be HUMANE to the homeless and hungry in the streets of Goa and get the homeless to the nearest shelter.
All our kettles have our sticker STREET PROVIDENCE as a reminder that this NGO is there in case of emergency for rehabilitation.
We require another 60 more ELECTRIC KETTLES for NORTH DISTRICT.
Not very expensive but it's a goodwill gesture to show support to these FRONT LINE WARRIORS @ GOA POLICE.
We provide you 80 G exemptions on all your donations either thru cash / cheque/ NEFT but with your PAN CARD COPY.

LOOKING FOR A SECOND HAND AMBULANCE OR A NEW AMBULANCE ..

14.7.2020 5pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST, GOA is looking for a second hand ambulance or a new ambulance as most of the people in our homes are in need of constant medical treatment.
Yes, the lockdown coupled with an already old Maruti Omni Ambulance is throwing our visits to hospitals into a tizzy.
Practically 4 times in a week , there is a trip either to :
▪︎IPHB Bambolim
▪︎GMC banbolim
▪︎District hospital margao
▪︎Private hospitals for skin disease or           just pains and old aged.
Listed below are the different types of homeless people in all our homes across Goa as listed below: 👇
▪︎Dumb 2
▪︎Lame 3
▪︎Physically challenged 10
▪︎Amputated 5
▪︎Old age 7
▪︎Alcoholic 13
▪︎Drug abuse 2
▪︎ Homeless 10
▪︎ HIV 3
▪︎ Mentally challenged 22
▪︎Skin disease 3
》Some are physically + mentally challenged.
》Some are homeless + mentally challenged
》Some are old + weak.
》Some are old + no toilet control
》A few are old + wheel chair bound.
》Some are old + skin infected.
》1 is HIV + mentally challenged
》1 is HIV + TB infected
》1 is HIV + bed ridden / operated.
■ Too many combinations.
It's all a mixture but yet its after all HUMAN BEINGS.
We accept and look after anyone who has no one, TOTALLY FREE OF COST .
But all admissions strictly through the Police and with a medical and COVID certifcate.
All our homes are rented and scattered across Goa .
Most of the times we hire TAXIS as our regular cars are occupied with the food bank pick up and drop.
If any organisation/ congregation has an ambulance which they are not using, then please donate or allow us to use it .
If any Company/ Factory / bank can help us under CSR , it will be if great help as we offer 50 % income tax exemption under 80G
☆ It Can be a MARUTI OMNI ambulance or
☆ It Can be a MARUTI ECO ambulance.
Bigger than this we are not keen to accept.
Alot of improvement is being seen, felt and observed in the last 6 months among our homeless people as we constantly follow up .
With 2 additional NEW TRUSTEES &
5 new temporary volunteers who's service is to only take our homeless people faithfully to hospitals for their check ups , most of the health issues are in place .
Inspite of free service at IPHB & GOVERNMENT hospitals, still our monthly medicine bill crosses Rs 50,000/- as not all medicines are free.
I make sure no person is deprived of MEDICINES & MEDICAL ATTENTION , no matter whats the cost.
Just in the month of MARCH , APRIL , MAY & JUNE 2020 , our hospital bills for only 5 homeless people admitted for a prolonged period was close to 4 lacs .
1 person who was seriously ill was billed an amount close to Rs 2 lacs .
And these are all HOMELESS & ABANDONED people .
Yet we @ Street Providence give the best medical facility without thinking twice.
Thanks to all our benefactors who have stood with me & Street Providence over the last 3 years .
Being responsible for the health of 80 to 100 people with a small team , 24 × 7 is only possible with the FAVOUR OF GOD .
And there are many more wishing to desperately get off the streets .

STREET PROVIDENCE  TRUST GOA through our MEDICINE BANK donates to 1550 Goa Police personnel :
▪︎1550 strips of CELINE CHEWABLE               VITAMIN C tablets &
▪︎1550 strips of SUPRADYN Multi                   Vitamin tablets.
OUR MEDICINE BANK for the last 3 years has been receiving medicines for our homeless street people in our homes from various individuals and companies under CSR with Bill's.
It's now time for us to give back to society and it's the right time during this crisis to start .
We purchased 1550 strips each of
CELINE CHEWABLE VITAMIN C TABLETS &
SUPRADYN MULTI VITAMIN TABLETS and donated this to 1550 police personal at the following SDPOs :
☆ 1. Porvorim SDPO 360
☆ 2. Panjim SDPO 394
☆ 3. Mapusa SDPO 400
☆ 4. Bicholim SDPO 390
The message we are conveying to Goa Police ” support the homeless street people in Goa through Street Providence and lets be HUMANE towards the homeless “.
These front line warriors at Goa Police require all the support and morale boasting measures.
This is not the time to find fault with the government or ask questions .
This is the time to show support and bless the front line WARRIORS @ Goa Police .
Both CELINE CHEWABLE & SUPRADYN tablets are just to boost the immunity .
These 2 tablets I have been taking regularly for the last 5 years and very rarely we get a cold in our family .
For children you get separate CELINE tablets which are also recommended to be taken .
I am not a doctor nor am I marketing medicines for the companies.
Very often CELINE CHEWABLE is in short supply.
The next alternative is LIMCEE CHEWABLE .
But CELINE chewable costs 1/ 3 of LIMCEE chewable .
Thanks alot to :
☆ 1. Mr Leslie , from Margao , a medical           rep for advising me about these 2               tablets.
☆ 2. Barros pharmaceuticals Mapusa for           keeping aside the stock for this                   noble cause.
☆ 3. Fernandes Chemist & Druggist,                  Saligao for supporting this cause                and offering us maximum discount
And for making this happen quickly.
We have a Big bill to pay , but the intentions are very clear.
Special thanks to our volunteers
▪︎Sapnesh Salgaonkar
▪︎Napolean Fernandes
▪︎Atmesh Kinlekar
Who in today rain has taken the trouble and time to visit all 4 SDPOs in North Goa and hand over the medicines to the respective DYSPs.
For South Goa we will try to donate to the remaining 4 SDPOs ie about 2000 personnel .
We are keen to also donate to the HOME GAURDS & TRAFFIC POLICE .
You too can do your part .
Each strip is not very expensive.
Total of both strips put together is just more than 1 litres of milk and much less than 1 breakfast at a good restaurant.
You too can support these FRONT LINE WARRIORS.
Support us in our MEDICINE BANK .
You can donate to us your contribution and get 50 % Income Tax exemption under SECTION 80 G.
Or you can buy the strips and give us .

RECEIVED AND INSTALLED SUCCESSFULLY 2 SOLAR WATER HEATER FOR OUR 2 REHABILITATION HOMES IN GOA .

7.7.2020 6pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST , received and installed successfully 2 Solar water heater for our 2 rehabilitation homes in Goa .
On 25.6.2020 we had uploaded a post where by we highlighted a Solar Water Heater which was donated and installed at our Assnora Home for the destitutes.
We had requested on that same post
dt 25.6.2020 to support us in installing in all our other homes, Solar Water Heaters.
We have been successful in getting donations for 2 homes and also completed the installation of these 2 solar water heaters at our :
Batim home for destitute men &
A women home for alcoholic in Bardez .
Thanks to the 2 benefactors who donated towards this request .
One is my own blood brother and the other is an elderly benefactor who has stood with us for the last 3 years .
We still have 2 more homes to install solar water heaters .
Both are in south GOA.
Another 3 of our homes don't require Solar Water heaters as the installation is quite complicated and tiresome and there are geysers in these homes.
Thanks to Mr Bunty from Saligao for completing these 2 installations inspite of the weather playing wet last 10 days and the COVID issues .
Bunty did a fantastic job under tough circumstances where it has been raining daily in Goa for the last days .
Good service at lighting speed by BUNTY .
The hot water available now especially at our BATIM & ASSNORA home is a big relief to our destitude men who are enjoying the same.
The care givers too are happy as the destitude men are now actually having bath and those who cant have a bath are given a bath with ease by the care givers.
Soiled and toilet clothes too are now washed in hot water and I am sure in the next few days all scratchy and skin irritations will be a thing of the past.
The difficult part in looking after destitides is their personal hygiene and their daily bath .
Especially those who are unsound mind , having a bath for them is very difficult and complicated.
