A HOMELESS MAN Mr GANDHI WHO wa6s PICKED UP BY US ON 25.1.2020

29.8 2020 10am IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA presents you today, another once upon a time, a homeless man
Mr Gandhi who was picked up by us on 25.1.2020 but today living a perfect life .
Attached a picture when we picked him and cleaned him up .
Mr Gandhi is either from Bihar / jharkhand
He was brought to our notice by our benefactor Mr Vishnu Salgaonkar from Birla .
(Attached a video when we picked him up .)
Gandhi today is 100 % better & fine .
Civilised, hard working, co operative, humane , easy to live with .
Does all and every work assigned to him.
( Attached another video how he now works with us.)
Only issue is Gandhi does not talk much .
And of late since he is back to normal he wants to go back to the world.
That's the issue with the homeless men.
Once they feel okay they want to run .
Not knowing where.
Because once they leave our home , then we dont accept them back as it sets a bad precedent to reform and then go back and drink and fall on the streets and come back again for rehabilitation.
The process is at times is too complicated and costly.
Plenty of such men living on the streets of Goa who are losing their mind and health.
COVID had made their economic condition pityful but due to shortage of space we just cant accept or rehabilitate more men .
We require that 1 big home / building to rehabilitate alot of homeless men still on the streets of Goa all under 1 roof.
This big home / building If given to us can be used for rehabilitation as well as workshops to teach them small skills like carpentry, plumbing, wiring , etc .
Just rehabilitation is not enough.
Skill and future survival is to be looked at also.
Support us in any way you wish .
We accept donations though cheque/ NEFT
We offer 80 G exemptions on all your donations along with your pan card copy.

STREET PROVIDENCE BRINGS SMILES AND MOTIVATIONS BACK INTO THE LIFE OF BERNARD, A GOAN MAN.

28.8.2020 10am IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA brings smiles and motivation back into the life of Bernard ,
A Goan man .
A man in total depression and in the dark, now set free .
Late Nov 2019 , Bernard was admitted into our home in a very sad state.
He was in a total mess and blurred vision in both eyes due to cataract.
A big nuisance in his village as he would just loitering in dirt and sleeping on the road or bus stops .
Very adamant man , highly stubborn and too violent .
He just could not control his toilet movements and would moan , groan , mutter , abuse , etc .
He basically I feel had lost his mind .
It took us almost a month to realise that he was unable to see due to cataract.
Bernard motivation level was very low .
He understood and believed that nothing good can come from him.
Too compound this belief of his , the care givers were getting stressed, bathing and cleaning him daily.
Infact we had to shift Bernard to a different home every 15 days so that the care givers would not get stressed & upset with him .
Thanks to a senior citizen from our Margao Food Bank , Mr Rubio who took Bernard many many times to Dr Ryan to check his eyes and be prepared for the operation.
We managed to get 1 eye of Bernard operated FREE OF COST by Dr Ryan at Margao.
After a few weeks Bernard was at ease.
He started responding to the care giver request to use the toilet and started having bath by himself.
One thing I observed that which house Bernard stayed, he would listen to the CD being played and follow it .

♡ In All our homes the WORD / DEVOTIONAL SONGS / RETREATS are played 24 hours which is preached by BJ
This 24 hours non stop Word of God is the best way to beat depression and sickness.
Today we present you :
▪︎1. A picture of Bernard when we                       admitted him into our home 9                       months ago.
▪︎2. A 5 minute video taken 3 days ago             in KONKANI which will explain his               current confidence level .
▪︎3. The same video where Bernard is               singing and tapping together an                  Alfred Rose song after 4 min of play            time.
We @ Street Providence are blessed to he doing this service to the homeless in Goa who are suffering from sickness of various kinds as well as in depression and this service is FREE OF COST .
We are totally stuck , as our homes are full and we cant accept any more men into our existing homes.
Looking for a big home to house
min 50 men and max 500 men
All under 1 roof .
Please pray that we are able to get this big home/ building so that hundreds of homeless suffering from poverty, depression, various sickness, etc can be looked after .
As a matter of fact we are already in a home which can house these 500 people but we are asked to vacate within 4 months of entering this home .
Prayers are required.
Support us in any way you wish .
We accept donations though cheque/ NEFT
We offer 80 G exemptions on all your donations along with your pan card copy.

POOR, PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED, GOAN WIDOW GIVEN A BETTER ENVIRONMENT TO LIVE.

26.8.2020 4pm IST
Poor, physically Challenged, Goan Widow given a better environment to live .
Must read , a bit long , but this is reality .
WISH YOU ALL MY HINDU BRETHREN
A VERY HAPPY GANESH CHATURTHI
Mrs Prabhavathi Pilankar is Physically Challenged widow , from Anjuna and the picture of her house is attached.
You saw the outside, now imagine the inside.
Prabhavathi is born Polio & is physically challenged and is having an adult son who looks after her.
Listen to the 1 min video.
Ruth Madeira e Pai , a lady from porvorim who works in the health Dept Panjim , and who is their benefactor vists this family in Anjuna on 19.8.2020.
Ruth was taken aback .
Mrs Prabhavathi and son were in an extremely terrible and pity state.
Extremely weak , undernourished, no food, house fallen down, no electricity, dirt and filth inside the house.
Pathetic.
Both of them were just lying down on the plain floor .
Now Ruth had gone there to hand over provisions for Ganesh Festival but was taken aback at their conditions.
Immediately Ruth got 108 to take them to DISTRICT HOSPITAL MAPUSA and from there Ruth took them to HER house at porvorim.
Now Ruth also celebrates GANESH CHATURTHI but yet RUTH & her family gave shelter to the mother & son .
♡ AMAZING FAMILY
We were approached for REHABILITATION and YES we are going to accept and provide them a small FLAT @ porvorim where they can stay .
But at the moment today we admitted her into a good hospital ( not government as it's all full due to COVID ) as she needs to be stabilised and got back to normal life
This is what we can do little, but atleast for some time till PRABHAVATHI recovers her strength and we are able to raise money to REBUILD their house at ANJUNA .
This is what help I require :
▪︎1. Looking for help in any ladies home where PRABHAVATHI can be admitted directly and tendered too, so that we dont need to put them in a flat.
Son can stay with us in our mens home.
▪︎2. If I don't get a ladies home , then looking for a DOCTOR/ NURSE who can visit PRABHAVATHI in porvorim FLAT daily to follow up , and get her back to her feet.
▪︎3. Any one willing to support and take care of their bills, nutrition, medications , especially the rent of the flat as we finish our flat agreement in Nov 2020.
▪︎4. With this pandemic, it's not going to be possible for them to go back to their home as it's broken but we surely can rebuild their house .
▪︎5. A counselor who can help them .
▪︎6. Any lady who can stay with
Mrs Prabhavathi Pilankar in the hospital in porvorim and it's going to take a good no of days, I feel to get her discharged.
This is just 1 case which I can help as her son is with her
There are about 15 + cases like this and yet I cant do much .
I am requesting you all to PRAY to GOD for STREET PROVIDENCE, so we get to house under one roof all such human being approx 500 people .
We require 1 big home to look after both men & women who are :
☆ Widows
☆ Old & Infirmed
☆ Physically challenged
☆ Bed ridden
☆ Lonely & depressed
☆ Alcoholic & substance abuse
☆ Mentally challenged
☆ Blind, deaf , dumb
☆ Homeless & destitutes.
But please pray for this home to materialize and that so many of the poor can get a place to stay, bath , food , medical attention and live peacefully especially during this pandemic which may last another good 9 months on the higher side.
Running so many small homes is very tiring and logistics is expensive.
But I am doing the best i can with the little resources I have.
We are not owning any homes and are not interested in owning any homes in our trust name .
All our homes are rented on 11 months lease .
We are only looking for 1 big home / building on cheap rent or free so that we can provide rehabilitation to the poorest of the poor .
Support us @ Street Providence in any way you can .
Be another Ruth Madeira e Pai by going out of your way and helping just 1 person .
We offer 80 G exemptions on all your donations along with your pan card copy.

STANDS WITH ANOTHER SET OF COVID FRONT LINE WARRIORS @ GOA ELECTRICITY DEPT

20.8.2020 7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA stands with another set of COVID FRONT LINE WARRIORS @ GOA ELECTRICITY DEPT.
Last 2 months it's been rainy weather in Goa.
And the ELECTRICITY DEPARTMENT men ( not sure if there are ladies lines woman ) have been on their toes reaching out to solve all our electricity woes.
We donated 55 electric kettles, to 55 substations in Goa to the POWER MINISTER OF GOA so that the linesman and staff can drink warm water during this monsoon .

They can use these kettles for
☆ Gargling
☆ Inhalation
☆ Making a quick tea or soup
☆ Etc .
( No negative comments on this post )
80 % of these kettles were sponsored by 4 benefactors who wanted to do something for these front line WARRIORS @ GOA ELECTRICITY DEPARTMENT as well as claim income tax exemption under section 80G.
Rest we contributed.
In a few sub stations our trustee and volunteers handed over to the respective substations their individual kettles .
Rest will be distributed thru the DEPARTMENT.
In all our homes across Goa we appreciate the service rendered by these ELECTRICITY LINESMAN especially at odd hours.
If you wish to help the FRONT LINE WARRIORS in GOA thru your donations then let us know .
We have many projects in hand where you can stand with the COVID FRONT LINE WARRIORS IN GOA as well as get 50% income tax exemption on your donations .

BOOKWORM TRUST ( A registered charitable trust ) FROM PANJIM DONATED THEIR MARUTI ECO CAR TO OUR NGO

15.8.2020 7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA wishes you all a HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY & A VERY HAPPY FEAST on the ASSUMPTION of MOTHER MARY .
We @ Street Providence are blessed as BOOKWORM TRUST ( A registered charitable trust ) from PANJIM donated their Maruti Eco Car to our NGO .
2 weeks back we had offered our only ambulance to the PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRE @ Chimbel to be used for Covid related work and we were 1 short of a van .
Through social media we had inquired whether anyone has a ambulance to give away or any ambulance for sale. ( and we are still asking for an ambulance )
Dr Fernando Noronha ( A trustee ) who I have never met , ( but connected through social media ) WhatsApp me saying they have an MARUTI ECO CAR to give away .
We accepted this red color ECO a few days back and got the car serviced and ready to hit the roads.
This 15th August is special to STREET PROVIDENCE.
This RED ECO is come at the right time .
For the last 30 days we have a full time lady nurse ( NUN ) in our ladies home and I failed to utilized her services as the weather is playing nasty .
Exactly 15 days ago , one of our homeless man had a terrible issue with his leg and such all maggots and worms were spotted on this leg.
Our regular care giver could not manage.
Dr advised amputation but suggested a professional nurse to clean it daily so that it could be saved.
Infact a few months back when we had picked him from the street , he was advised at GMC to do the amputation.
In this COVID getting a nurse is next to impossible.
The nurse ( nun ) volunteered to step in and believe me last 7 days that man wound has improved that just today Dr was shocked that there is so much improvement . Now no amputation atleast for the moment.
But need 1 month daily dressing.
The nurse ( nun ) is in Mapusa and the man is in BATIM .
We managed to stop and adjust our regular work to move the nurse daily up and down.
But now we are looking for a volunteer to drive this RED ECO.
This Red Eco will be used every morning to dress the wounds of this man in our BATIM HOME as well distribute food to those who still stuck up on the streets of panjim & porvorim .
We have a huge quantity of medicines and surgical equipment donated to us coming from GUJARAT. ( this is for another post ).
Many homeless are still struggling on the streets.
This is what INDEPENDENCE is to us 👇
Setting the sick, homeless, hungry, downtrodden FREE from their pains and agony.
We have been provided by God :
▪︎1. The RED ECO CAR .
▪︎2. A full time nurse ( nun ) who is in
         our home full time .
▪︎3. Boxes of medicines and surgical                equipment
▪︎4.Homes to rehabilitate ( most are full )
▪︎5. Food coupons from NAVTARA to                 feed the homeless.
But We require :
▪︎1. A person to drive THE RED ECO                   provided you have a passion to
        serve the poor .
( Can be lady or Gent ).
▪︎2. A home to house atleast another 50          to 100 homeless people who are still          on the streets in Goa especially in                MARGAO city .
▪︎3. Petrol vouchers as this work is daily          mand continuous on the streets of              Goa .
▪︎4. Support through prayers , blessings             and donations.
▪︎5. A second hand ambulance incase               any one has to give away or if there             is one for sale.
All donations through cheque / Neft which are exempted upto 50 % under Section 80G of Income Tax Act along your pan card copy .

LOOKING FOR A BIG PLACE / HALL / BUILDING/ SHED TO ACCOMMODATE ANOTHER 100 + HOMELESS MEN

8.8.2020 7pm IST
Street Providence Trust, Goa joins the COVID fight in GOA
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST, GOA is looking for a big place / hall / building/ shed to accommodate another 100 + homeless men who are desperate to get off the streets of Goa .
All our rehabilitation homes are nearly full .
We just can't accept anymore homeless men as space is a big constraint.
But we @ Street Providence are aware as well as the newspapers are reporting that in some cities in Goa street men have died as they are not having shelter.
Daily I am requested thru phone calls and WhatsApp to help in rehabilitation.
From mid June 2020 till date, we have rehabilitated nearly 10 such men after doing the COVID test .
Pathetic cases and desperate men .
Even today as I write this post we admitted a 61 year old goan man whose house is completely broken and no one is ready to help him .
Mapusa police did his paperwork and that's why we took him in and he is old and homeless.
Attaching 2 videos of 2 such men who if were not rehabilitated in time, not sure what their condition would be today .
☆ A.
1st is a man ( Non Goan ) who was sleeping for close to 75 days outside a religious place in Bardez. ( Video in hindi)
He did not have a bath for more than 2 months and was terribly weak and malnourished.
A kind benefactor of mine pleaded and did all his paper work thru Porvorim police and we accepted him .
He today has become an asset in the last 1 month to street Providence as he has come forward and decided to look after the sick and infirmed men in the home he is staying .
☆ B.
A Goan Man who for more than 3 years was loitering and sleeping on the streets of north GOA. ( video in konkanni )
He was guided to the Mapusa police station where the police were kind enough to call us and request us to rehabilitate him .
We only agreed as he has a COLOSTOMY BAG attached to his body ( cancer survivor)
Educated man with computer knowledge but circumstances has made him live on the streets with his sickness and at times in pain.
Another Asset to our home as he too will be employed to look after homeless street men .
Its very sad and painful to receive pictures practically everyday of homeless men desperate for a place to stay and food to eat.
Housing them is our concern .
But where is the Space ?
( No negative comments or blaming required. ) That all can wait .
With men unable :
▪︎to pay their rents or
▪︎because of no jobs or
▪︎because of no documents or
▪︎because of poverty or
▪︎because of sickness
they are living a suffering and painful life on the streets.
All I need ASAP is a place to look after these 100+ men .
We have close to 85 + men already in our homes.
Please dont give me recommendations but go to the owners of these places and convince them to supoort us in this home .
We prefer a place which is
Secluded,
Isolated,
Hill top or farm land or industrial shed.

Should have atleast
15 toilets and
a drinking water well along
with municipality water supply &
Motorable road for a medium vehicle

Preferred in
Bardez
Tiswadi
Salcette
We have a set of goan men who have volunteered to be part of this new home as there are going to be endless hospital trips as most of them will surely be weak and malnourished.
Also the new home which we require needs to easy reachable to move food and medicines on daily basis as well other facilities.
But BEGGARS CANT BE CHOOSERS and today that is my state ” begging for a big place to put all these homeless men till the pandemic is over “.
Your support is what makes us carry on .
Support us with your
♡ Prayers
♡ Well wishers
♡ Donations
♡ Food grains
♡ Medicines
♡ Petrol vouchers
We require men volunteers who can drive a car to come forward and support us in many many ways without expecting any compensation but working towards humanity.
All donations through cheque / Neft which are exempted upto 50 % under Section 80G of Income Tax Act along your pan card copy .

During this Pandemic , where gargling and inhalation is one of the ways to beat the Virus , these Water Solar Heaters are really a blessing .
With the monsoon in full swing , each and every homeless person is now satisfied with a bucket of hot water for daily bath and we have managed to bring down the skin
We now have water solar heaters at our homes in
☆ 1. Assnora
☆ 2. Batim
☆ 3. Margao
☆ 4. Cavelossim
☆ 5. Our woman home .
Big thanks to Balaji Enterprises from Saligao who sold, installed and checked that these 5 water solar heaters are fully functional and the job was completed within 30 days inspite of the monsoon.
We thank the owners of all these homes for allowing us to install these water solar heaters as all these homes are not ours but given to use for a noble cause.
We have another requirement in our
3 homes.
We require 3 TELEVISIONS ( TV ).
Yes since the last 3 days due to heavy winds and rains , 3 TVs in our homes have just gone off.
Looks like various circumstances caused the damage.
With the men completely in lockdown mode it's getting a bit boring sitting 24 hours indoors .
We are looking for 2nd hand FLAT SCREEN TELEVISION only & not BOX TELEVISION .
We have about 5 BOX TELEVISION with us given by various donors in the past and non are working.
Even to repair is difficult due to the lockdown and expensive as parts are to be ordered.
So incase you have an extra 2nd Hand FLAT SCREEN TV and would like to give it away please let us know . ( not box tv ).
Size is not a problem , any size will do .
We had used , are using and will use SOCIAL MEDIA to raise resources as well as to share the work we do .
