JOINS THE COVID FIGHT IN A VERY SMALL WAY BY GIVING AWAY OUR 5 CARS FOR TRANSPORTATION.

8.5.2021  8pm
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA , joins the Covid fight in a very small way by giving away our 5 cars for transportation.
Today we offered 5 our cars to tranport Covid affected people as well as for different Covid works.
Mind you , I am not into politics nor am I contesting any elections in the future.
No negative comments.
If the youth want to help , they need to be encouraged and supported.
I believe in AGAPE & not SOCIAL SERVICE.
Attached 2 posters of 4 cars.
( 1 car will be uploaded next week )
Of these 5 cars :
☆ A.
To the Government we offered  2 Ambulances just for transportation of people, as these are without any live saving equipment inside as these were used in our homes to transport our homeless people for check up to hospitals and back.
▪︎1 Ambulance – is a Maruti Omni
▪︎ 1 Ambulance – is a Maruti Eco
Both have stretchers.
1 was requisitioned by the North Goa  Collector & the other Ambulance will be requisitioned on Monday by the North Goa Collector.
Both these Ambulances will be at some PHC .
☆ B.
Two Maruti Eco cars given to 2 young people working for the Covid affected  in North Goa .
In North Goa,  that is priority Bardez & Tiswadi talukas , these 2 Maruti Eco cars will be put to use .
One can contact these youngsters :

☆ C.
One Toyota in South Goa , going out to our volunteer who is himself quarantined but in 3 days will be finishing his 15 days and ready to hit the street helping those in need.
( there will be a separate post on this later)
This is the little we can do.
Of these 5 cars , 4 belong to the NGO & 1 belongs to my wife .
Our car reg nos are :
▪︎GA 03 P 3725
▪︎GA O8 F 3913
▪︎GA 03 N 4962
▪︎GA 07 E 0521
▪︎GA 01 S 4230
MY FAITH says :
♡♡ GIVE & IT SHALL BE GIVEN UNTO YOU ,
GOOD MEASURE ,PRESSED DOWN ,….
So we are believing that many poor people will benefit daily in these 5 cars by getting free transportation etc
It's not easy giving away 5 cars at one time.
But all the above 4 cars were donated to our NGO over the last 3 years and the original owners will surely be proud and be blessed by those benefiting from the these cars during this covid time.
Some how we will manage at our NGO with our 100+ homeless people.
God provides all our needs daily.
Planned many more Covid related services in the coming week .
If you wish to donate during this particular pandemic , then be assured you should be our benefactor.
We work 24 *7 ,  last 4 years all months all weather,  with extra effort during calamities.
Our volunteers, team members,  employees are on the ground.
You donation will be put to the correct purpose.
Our doors are always open for the homeless street people.

STARTS A NEW SERVICE OF TAKING CARE OF UNWED MOTHERS.

6.5.2021  8 pm  IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA starts a new service of taking care of unwed mothers.
Yes you read right.
It's a pandemic and there are various sections of poor homeless people looking for shelter.
One such section is and will be unwed mothers.
Today,  we admitted into our home a highly mentally challenged lady, ( but now completely under control through medication ) and 7 months old pregnant .
Coming from interior parts of Goa , might be not highly educated,  but from  poor section of society and was living in a very sad and miserable hut, with no much support.
No questions or negative comments as this is max what I know.
Our job is to provide relief and support, Not dig into the past.
Everything happened through phone calls 2 months back, infact I met her only today.
Thanks to these individuals who played their part,  which resulted in we open heartedly welcoming her :
☆ 1. Top social worker and an elderly lady from Margao who handles such cases but does not have facility for long term stay.
Got in touch with me as the Police were not keen to help as it's complicated and belive me its really really tough to help in such a case.
☆ 2. The same Police Inspector who I am yet to meet,  but agreed to do the best he could once I convinced him that,  our NGO will handle her till her delivery and even after that, does his part and the paperwork.
☆ 3. The institute which stabilized her during the last 2 months.
☆ 4. To my good volunteer, even ready to help as he is a double professional, trained for such complex cases at the time of delivery.
He told me 2 months back , you accept her into the home,  rest leave to me but under no circumstances she has to go back on the streets as this can be repeated again in the future.
For those who understand the case,  this is the most complex admission we are accepting as :
Its a pandemic time,
Case is a woman who was unstable mentally but I have faith she is set free,
7 months pregnant,
At the time of delivery,  such cases compulsory require a psychiatrist.
Today the same Police Inspector , again does the necessary arrangements and said these words on the phone  ” I am glad that her life will change by she staying in your home and I am proud to have played my part by listening to your request and helping her to get to the institute “.
We have another 2 months before her delivery,   to help her to go forward and forget the pain and agony & to start life again.
We will require :
▪︎1. FInances for the delivery, as no way we can do the delivery in any Government hospital due to covid.
▪︎2. Your prayers so that she is ready to go forward in life and start afresh and I am sure she has regained her mind.
▪︎3. Tentative God parents .
Our NGO has and is daily blessed with everything including a good double professional person.
We @ Street Providence rehabilitate anyone in need both men & women bit should be poor and homeless.
The day this child is born,  I can proudly state that we have under our responsibility aged group of, 0 months – 91 year old.
If you know any such unwed mothers , pregnant and from very poor sections we are ready to help and rehabilitate and take care till they can face the world.
Our doors are always open for the homeless street people.
Your support is what makes us feed the homeless street people & rehabilitate them across entire Goa.
Your support is what we require
Support us in whatever way you can.
Donate generously to our NGO.
We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.

WE STANDS WITH THESE FRONT LINE COVID WARRIORS @ CHICALIM HEALTH CENTRE , GOA .

3.5.2021  8pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA stands with these front line Covid warriors @ Chicalim Health Centre , Goa .
♡♡ Dr Anil Umraskar , Health Officer, Sub District Hospital,  Chicalim , nurses and staff,  provides relief and a place to this homeless man Mr Muthuraj.
Read on.
Muthuraj , a homeless , was admitted into sub district hospital,  chicalim on 30.3.21.
Muthuvel a 30 yr old  having multiplfractures in left collar bone, right femur and left tibia.
The left tibia fracture is complicated  and needed to be fixed with an Ilizarov external fixator , a complicated operation done with wires , spokes and metal rims.
It needs to be on him for 4 to 6 months, he can walk a little but it is painfull
Look at the video. 👇
Alcohol over took him which made him get to the streets.
Young man .
The chicalim Hospital is being put to use for other purposes and this man would be need to get out of the hospital.
Dr called me  3 days back and requested a place to rehabilitate muthuraj.
I quickly agreed inspite of the fear of COVID.
Risk is too high , but Psalm 91 takes away that fright.
Dr Anil , did his Covid test and other formalities and today got him dropped to our office at Sangolda .
Dr Anil & his team showed compassion & consideration to muthuraj.
I mean , Dr has other important things to do then finding place for this man .
But being a Dr,  Dr Anil played his part by requesting me to rehabilitate muthuraj .
Even if I wanted to say no , I just could not.
Muthuraj has a round metal cage for his entire left leg.
Never handled such a case before.
And I am not sure who else Dr called or who else would have accepted him during this covid second wave.
Muthuraj can hardly walk and can't wear a pant , only a towel.
But I am sure , Dr and his team will be relieved that Muthuraj got a home to stay as the hospital is being used for other purpose and he just can't stay there any longer.
Our work starts now,  not sure how to go ahead with muthuraj but God will show us the way.
If there are such men in hospitals and no place to go , send me a whatsapp on 8380097564 , we can consider on case to case basis. No assurance.
Our doors are always open for the homeless street people.
Your support is what makes us feed the homeless street people & rehabilitate them across entire Goa.
Your support is what we require
Support us in whatever way you can.

LABOUR DAY IS OBSERVED IN INDIA TODAY …LABOURERS LIFE IS TOUGH.

1.5.2021  9am IST
Labour day is observed in India today .
Public holiday as I can say about 1st May .
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA rescues this man a few weeks back,  a daily labourer , non goan , from panjim , who was suffering from itch and scabies on his entire body.
Labourers life is tough.
The current 2nd wave will be more difficult for them as well as our NGO who rehabilitate them .
♡♡ Mrs Immrama Cathi, from Samarpan Foundation has been feeding on the streets of Panjim every Tuesday & Thursday night .
She zeroes down on this man, Santosh who she observes is all full if itch and scabies and is desperate to get off the streets of Panjim.
She whatsapp me his picture and requests help.
Next day Santosh reports to the police station,  who in turn calls us and we pick him up .
Today we can say we have celebrated LABOUR DAY.
Santosh today is all clean and healthy.
Like Santosh , there are many out there on the streets looking for a shelter and a little food to eat.
I am Getting very frustrated and restless,  as we can't pick the homeless men due :
▪︎1. Homes being full ,
▪︎2. This 2nd wave is very deadly,
▪︎3. I am completely at home,  GROUNDED , as I have too much of responsibility with many projects,  can't afford any chances.
▪︎4.  Children are small.
▪︎5.  Many of our volunteers are old and have their own families,  so can't put pressure.
▪︎6. We already are close to 100 homeless and we need to be VERY VERY CAREFUL .
▪︎7. Our current team is doing the best they can to run and look after these 100 people.
But here and there we are still accepting homeless and abandoned street men .
Homeless Women we are accepting only from hospitals who are abandoned and ready for discharge.
I can't sit quite , getting requests from many to rehabilitate men , but a few days more will be needed before we hit the streets of Goa picking the homeless off the streets, subject to Availability of a home for men.
For women we can accept another 15 to 20.
Plenty of beds in the women home but admissions only through our strict procedure.
Come join us as our volunteer in other cities of Goa incase you have that passion in you.
Your support is what makes us feed the homeless street people & rehabilitate them thorough our volunteers across entire Goa.
Your support is what we require
Support us in whatever way you can.

We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.

WE NOW OFFICIALLY REGISTERED UNDER THE DISABILITY ACT 2016, THROUGH THE SOCIAL WELFARE DEPT, PANJIM, GOVERNMENT OF GOA .

30.4.2021  8 am IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA is now officially registered under The Disability Act 2016, through the Social Welfare Dept, Panjim, Government of Goa .
Yesterday received our REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE.
This is a very big boost for us in our fight against hunger & homelessness in Goa.
We had to go to many government officials,  departments , procedures, follow ups, etc.
But inspite of the troubles and heart breaks,  we managed to get the REGISTRATION.
And we are grateful and thank many of the  Government officials who have helped and guided us.
This certificate authorizes us to look after people with disabilities both physical and mental.
From DEC 2017 , we have been looking after homeless street people with disabilities.
During the early year of 2018 , I made numerous trips to the Social Welfare Dept, Panjim , trying to get an understanding of the registration.
A. Thanks to this honest and upright Goan officer at the Social Welfare Department Panjim , Mr Suddesh Gaude , who was the Asst Director , today we are able to get the registration.
Mr Gaude , explained to me that we require to complete 2 years of operations before we can be registered.
He also advised me that every time we open a home in Goa, we should send  a letter to the Dept for the record.
After 2 years of running the Shelter Homes,  I wrote 2 applications to the Social Welfare  Department for registration of our NGO.
Alas, I did not receive a reply.  And then the pandemic struck.
Mr Gaude went from the Social Welfare Department to the IPHB in Bambolim.
Rehabilitation work of disabled homeless street people continued.
Late last year , the Disability Act 2016 , began to take shape and we  were aware that we needed to get registered with the Social Welfare.
But we faced many hurdles on the way to being registered:
We needed to obtain the following
☆ 1. Individual Disability certificate for our inmates
☆ 2. Individual adhar card for each inmate
☆ 3. Endless trips to IPHB & GMC with each inmate.
☆ 4. Inspection of premises by officials of Social Welfare.
Again ( now ) Asst Prof, Mr Gaude,  advices and helps us .
☆ 1. He calls Director of Planing , Statistics & Evaluation,  Porvorim and puts in a good word towards helping ease the procedure by holding a camp for the purpose of issuing  Aadhar cards to the homeless inmates in our various Shelter Homes.
Result : we are able to find a way and get the Aadhar cards made for the homeless.
☆ 2. He requests Doctors @ IPHB to assist us in our appointments for the Disability Certificate applications as most of the  homeless people rescued by us are either physically or mentally challenged.
Result : Presently Individual Disability certificate are being issued.
☆ 3. He requests Dy Director of Social Welfare, to conduct an inspection, which happens quickly and we submitt our file as required by them in early Feb 2021.
♡♡ B. My grateful thanks to  Dy Director , Social Welfare , Panjim , Mr Taha , a kind hearted and upright man,  who has been very very co- operative and understanding towards our NGO.
Right from inspecting our premises,  to the paper work,  to the follow up and lastly the  issuing of our CERTIFICATE,  he made me very comfortable and I never doubted that our REGISTRATION would be delayed.
♡♡ C. Grateful to the  Director of Administration, GMC , Mr Dattaram Sardessai , who paved the way for our homeless men with physical disabilities to acquire the disability certificate from GMC .
Without identification its not possible to do these disability certificate.
Today we have the Aadhar cards of the homeless people , but the process started two months back.
Here it is imperative that I mention that  all of the above 3 Government officials are cool , calm , ever ready to help and extremely considerate towards the poor and homeless,  ready to explain the rules patiently  v/s me always in a hurry and impatient .
Disappointment cropped up many times in these last 2 months but yet ….
♡♡ My sincere and grateful  thanks to all the DOCTORS , etc both at IPHB & GMC for their support and quick appointments.
Today we are prepared to rehabilitate any number of poor homeless people who may be abandoned in GMC & IPHB as we are now a REGISTERED SHELTER HOME with the DEPARTMENT of SOCIAL WELFARE.
We are also ready to accept people with physical/mental disabilities from families incase they are looking for space to stay.
Subject to availability of space of course
A fee will be charged for this service,  as we only provide free service  for the homeless street people and really poor goan families.
Lastly , under the Central Government scheme,  there is funding for short stay shelter homes for people with disabilities and since we have many homeless street people who are disabled, we are keen to apply for the funds as looking after disabled people is not an easy task both from financial point of view and human point of view.
♡♡ We thank in advance Mr Taha & Mr Gaude ( who is a walking encyclopedia for all Government grants, rules and schemes ) for advising and supporting us in acquiring Central Government funds both for infrastructure and rehabilitation programs as we work for the poor, homeless and downtrodden disabled streets people in Goa.
Service to the homeless poor succeeds only when all partners involved work towards this common goal.
♡♡ Dev Borem Korum!

PRESENTS YOU THIS HOMELESS MAN , WHO JUST 3 MONTHS BACK, WAS LITERALLY STRUGGLING TO LIVE ON THE STREETS , BUT TODAY IS FIT AND ROCKING.

27.4.2021 8pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA , presents you this homeless man , who just 3 months back,  was literally struggling to live on the streets , but today is fit and rocking.
On 16.1.2021, Hubert Saldanha from Miramar,  requested us to get Mr Lal Bahadur , an elderly man ,  help as he was sitting outside Lawande Electricals Panjim, for over 6 months in a dirty and sad state.
Our volunteers got him off the streets and into our home.
The day we picked him,  he was all soiled in his urine  and his feaces with terrible smell around him .
Alcohol had overtaken his body and his nerves were very weak.
For close to a month he was on a wheel chair and one man would massage his legs daily.
Doctor played a major part In his detoxification and his recovery to an extent he can now stand,  walk,  have a bath,  use the washroom .
No trouble now.
Attached a picture of him when picked up
Also his picture as of today
Watch the 4 min video of him walking that day and today.
Enjoy the light music at 3 min 3 seconds👇
Getting such men off the streets is very difficult and expensive as numerous blood tests have to be done to understand their medical history.
Blood tests are very very expensive .
Per man atleast 6 to 8 tests within the 1st three months to understand what he is carrying in his body and what medicine is required to stabilize him.
With a good Doctor as our volunteer who even visits the home late night after his work ,  the recovery of our men are very quick and fast.
♡♡ Thanks to Hubert Saldanha for following up with me those days to get Lal Bahadur off the streets.
With Covid spreading quickly , alot of such helpless homeless people will require rehabilitation.
Its going to be a very risky and dangerous situation picking up such homeless people.
But we are going to get as many as possible off the streets.
We @ Street Providence are committed during this very crucial stage of the pandemic  to help the old , sick , abandoned homeless street men in Goa .
Plus now touching any homeless person is risky due to COVID , but yet we need to show and live HUMANITY .
Your support is what we require

GRATITUDE TO OUR FRONT LINE COVID WARRIORS.

24.4.2021  7 pm IST
Gratitude to our FRONT LINE COVID WARRIORS.
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA stands with our front line covid warriors @ Mapusa Police Station by cleaning up their WASHROOMS.
Police personnel in Goa , are again this year started being the front line warriors in the fight against covid.
Exactly 4 years back, we started our mission of working for the homeless street people and it was through MAPUSA POLICE STATION that we were able to start.
At that time the Dysp was Mr Dias & the PI was Mr Tushar Lotlikar.
Till date more than 160 + homeless men & women have been brought off the streets only through this Police station @ Mapusa.
Today there is a another Dysp but the PI is still Mr Lotlikar ( in between for many months the PI was transfered )
And believe me the staff of the entire Police station, under the command of
PI Tushar Lotlikar has always been considerate and compassionate towards the homeless.
As a sign of Gratitude our homeless street men have decided to clean up WASHROOMS of THE POLICE STATIONS and the priority will be of those Police stations who have been active in getting the homeless of the streets.
We started with Mapusa Police Station.
Have you ever heard of anyone cleaning up WASHROOMS ?
Since most of our homeless men are picked from streets, where sanitation and hygiene is very bad,  cleaning of washrooms by them is not very tough.
The men who basically are under going detoxification and rehabilitation,  can't just be fed and kept un occupied the whole day.
Our homeless men are semi plumbers, mason's,  etc .
With such manpower,  why not allow them to put their skills to use .
Our homeless men  too wish to be part of this fight against COVID , and any front line warriors always wishes to enter into a clean and neat washroom.
Our homeless men a few months back even upgraded 2 toilets at Mapusa Police Station, one which is used exclusively for all the LPSI.
Quite often at this Police Station and other police stations we carry out fogging and sanitization which is done by these homeless men.
If any other Police Station or outpost requires our free service,  the PI can always get in touch with us .
And mind you , we at Street Providence are here to serve the homeless as well as  those who support us in our mission of eradicating homelessness.
May be once our free services of cleaning WASHROOMS are appreciated :
☆ 1. the Government may consider us on a small remuneration so that these homeless men can atleast earn a livelihood instead of begging on the streets.
☆ 2. And we too can get few of our expenses met in running our homes.
Rest assured this post is too encourage you if possible to go out there where ever you are and do something small for our FRONT LINE COVID Warriors .
No negative comments or criticism on this post about the Government,  as these are testing times for our FRONT LINE COVID WARRIORS.
Each of these FRONT line covid warriors can be yours , ours or some ones brother, sister,  father,  mother, etc.
If you can support the FRONT LINE COVID WARRIORS , please do , else relax.
God bless you

IS LOOKING TO LEASE, RENT OR BUY ( with your support) THIS WOODEN HOUSE AS ATTACHED WITH THIS POST.

22.4.2021  7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA , is looking to lease,  rent or buy ( with your support) this wooden house as attached with this post.
With curfew in Goa and cases rising,  homeless and street people will be badly hit.
Last year we managed during the entire lockdown to take off the streets more than 100 such men (may be even more)
Last year during the lockdown we were In Margao home , and there were many old classrooms which we used as isolation for 14 days for many many homeless men for over 6 months.
That's the reason last year , non of our homeless men got infected.
Yes we has no covid infected men in any of our homes last year as we took alot of trouble in fighting the virus with strict rules, checks and procedures.
And we were the only NGO during the entire lockdown,  accepting freely homeless street men.
This year we don't have that liberty as we are not in Margao anymore.
With the current strain not showing sign of much symptoms like last year , our shelter homes will need to take extra caution.
With no isolation rooms available in any of our shelter homes the only option available is to install such wooden temporary structure.
Per wooden home, 6 such men who are on the streets can be isolated for 14 days before admitting them into our main home.
This wooden structure will be in the vicinity of the home.
Basic infrastructure like 1 sink , 1 toilet cum bathroom with a light and a fan .
Lets assume it takes min 6 months to normalize,  we can comfortably get off 72 such men .
6 men = 14 days
12 men = 1 month
72 men = 6 months
Otherwise we will have to stop taking homeless men off the streets as the risk is too much.
Already Doctor is on his toes with few men having slight temperature at times.
Everyone men is put on inhalation 3 times a day with twice a day temperature checks.
This 1 hut costs approx Rx 4 lacs with complete installation.
This is how we are prepared to help those on the streets in the coming months.
@ Rs 5500 per men, (Rs 400000 ÷ 72 men) you can have enjoy that good sense of humanity that you too played your part in your home by supporting us .
Otherwise we might have to think twice before directly getting homeless men of the streets.
Too , too much of risk involved.
All our full time staff have families with young children as well as elderly parents.
One way our staff health has to be safe guarded & on the other side the homeless,  especially the type of men we pick will need to get into a shelter.
Any other type of arrangements are ruled out as our homes are on rent and constructing new rooms are not possible In today scenario.
If there is any big old building or far flung home to accommodate homeless men then we can accept on lease or rent.
We @ Street Providence are committed during this very crucial stage of the pandemic  to help the old , sick , abandoned homeless street men in Goa .
Plus now touching any homeless person is risky due to COVID , but yet we need to show and live HUMANITY .

PRESENTS YOU 2 HOMELESS MEN SUFFERING FROM TERRIBLE SKIN DISEASE

21.4.2021  7 pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA presents you 2 homeless men suffering from terrible skin disease 1 month back , on the verge of kicking the bucket , today completely healed and alive & active.
Read on.
Attached 2 pictures and 1 short video of their testimony of recovery. 👇
♡♡ Arjun and Pawal were daily fed at the mapusa taxi stand,  by Napolean and their condition was sad and pathetic.
Malnourished , weak , full of sores and scabies and itch, drinking to kill the pain and hunger.
Napolean realized that they were sinking very fast and called our volunteer Doctor one night on streets of Mapusa.
Doctor suggested immediate rehabilitation and agreed to treat them if they were to survive.
That night itself we with the help of Mapusa Police , moved them to our home and isolated them for 15 days.
For the 1st three days they were so weak and started vibrating as there was no alcohol.
Withdrawal symptoms was what they were going thru.
Slowly they stopped vibrating and they started eating food,  etc.
Within the next 15 days all the itch, sores , scabies, etc all got healed and today they are absolutely 💯% normal with expensive medicines,  dressing and blood tests.
Two very young lives saved from sure death and that too a miserable one.
When I saw them that night,  belive me , I was not ready to touch them.
Doctor had to convince me that he would cure and treat them.
Doctor being an MBBS cum Ortho cum Psychiatrist,  detoxified them 1st and then treated them for the skin disease.
Doctor did a great and quick job.
Both were stick and bone , barely could stand, forget walk and soaked up in their urine and feaces with puss and what not oozing out of their body .
Today they have agreed to stay back and clean up and tend to other men getting off the streets.
We would like to help more to get off the streets but the space is an issue.
If you know such men suffering on the streets in GOA only  and require rehabilitation send me their picture and we will try to help if we can find space in our home.
Plus now touching any homeless person is risky due to COVID , but yet we need to show and live HUMANITY .
