THE 4th HOMELESS PERSON RESCUED WITH 48 HOURS FROM 15.9.2020

18.9.2020 10am IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST, GOA shares with you details of the 4th homeless Person rescued with 48 hours from 15.9.2020.
Our new team in our PPE kit consisting :
♡ A full time nurse and
♡ An attendant and
♡ A supervisor
administers 1st aid ,
checks his parameters,
Confirms with me &
Shifts Mohandas to our home .
Please watch these 3 small videos.
You will know how we are now helping the homeless on the streets.
This man Mohandas is a keralite and has been stuck in the same place outside Tivim Railway station in a restaurant which is closed, for the last 6 months.
Leg is swollen and infected with maggots.
No symptoms of cough, cold ot fever .
According to our knowledge, a few days back 108 attended to his wound but he was back to the same place.
Before we picked him yesterday, a few locals cleant him and bathed him otherwise its difficult for our nurse to attend to him .
The locals in co ordination with Police personal @ Mapusa Police Station, Mr Franky gets him to our attention.
After all paperwork and checking his parameters, he is admitted into our home.
Our young nurse did a fantastic job of attending to him with courage and without fear .
( Nurse is not government paid )
Mohandas was just weak and malnourished.
Mohandas , Right foot infected with maggots , the little toe is almost not there..
Might need to be amputated..
Mohandas Cannot see in his right eye.. (Might be Pterygium)
Might Needs opthmalmic reference.
Look at the picture to know his condition at the time of picking him up.
Once he is stabilised and finishes a few days of quarantine we will start treating him for his leg and his eye .
We @ Street Providence are now geared up to :
Medically examine on the spot
pick from the street and
rehabilitate directly into our homes
All such homeless people, priority men.
Provided they don't require hospitalisation.
With Government hospitals almost over loaded , with the government ambulances over stretched, alot of homeless are left to fend for themselves.
We @ Street Providence will surely try to fill the gap .
We require a big big building to rehabilitate so many homeless and desperate to get into a home as once picked up, they requires :
☆ 1. Isolation as a precaution
☆ 2. If having any contagious sickness            again isolation
☆ 3. If mentally unsound again isolation.
☆ 4. Etc.
After all they are humans.
We also require to buy a 2nd hand ambulance which should be a Eco or an omni.
God has provided us everything required to help another 300 + homeless people :
☆ Excellent system
☆ Good care givers
☆ Food
☆ Vans
☆ Committed Volunteers
☆ Medicines
☆ A nurse
☆ Adding a Doctor shortly
☆ Homes across Goa
☆ Great and helpful benefactors
☆ Support from Goa Police.
But they big dream home to get another 300+ is what we are looking forward too.
Remember getting any homeless person off the streets in today's time means spending on treatment, medication, hospital trips, fuel , etc .
We are totally depending only on donations.
Your support is extremely important to Street Providence to do what best we are called to do .
Support us in any way you wish .
Especially if you are a nurse or a doctor either from North Goa or South Goa .
We accept donations though cheque/ NEFT
We offer 80 G exemptions on all your donations along with your pan card copy.

IN THE LAST 48 HOURS GETS 4 HOMELESS PEOPLE OF THE STREETS OF GOA AND INTO OUR HOMES INCLUDING A 9 MONTH OLD CHILD

17.9.2020 6pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST, GOA in the last 48 hours gets 4 homeless people of the streets of Goa and into our homes including a 9 month old child .
This message will be about 3 of them.
Tomorrow will update about the 4th person.
☆ 15.9.2020 @ 8.30pm received a call from Goa Police PSI stating a young 26 year old lady and 9 month old baby requires rehabilitation.
☆ The ladies husband abandoned her on the streets and took the other child who is a boy and disappeared.
The mother gave the baby to another lady and was sitting at a Government hospital all in despair and lost for life .
To every one blessing , the PSI got the child and mother together and called me for providing shelter.
As we are unequipped to rehabilitate in such a scenario I assured the PSI that i will help .
Dialed and messaged many homes but scared of Covid is the answer.
Finally dialed a home which voluntarily took them in.
Big Big thanks to this PSI of Goa Police for taking time inspite of the pandemic and doing the best to see that this mother & child were rehabilitated in the terrible rainy weather that day .
☆ 16.9.2020
Prashant Shinde was lying in pathetic condition in the rain and muck at MARCEL Ponda for over 15days
Completely undernourished, weak , wounds on both legs .
No one wanted him .
A few friends got together and admitted him into GMC and got him stabilised for 2 days .
♡ Thanks to all at GMC for being considerate and kind enough to treat this homeless man and not charging a single rupee.
His friend took alot of trouble for almost 5 days desperately trying to get me to admitt him otherwise he would be back on the streets
Last night at around 10pm we took Prashant into our home in Margao after getting a NOC from Ponda police.
A big thanks to the PI of Ponda for extending timely help in the paperwork.
Very very weak man .
But the trouble is his feet .
Big Wounds on both feet which require daily dressing and medicine also his liver is damaged.
We @ Street Providence are always ready to help in rehabilitation if any one is on the streets.
It's either a straight yes or no .
This entire Covid period of 6 months I can proudly say we have rehabilitated more than 35 such people either in our homes or in our associate homes.
Men , ladies, children.
Yes some cases which are really complicated and difficult we have refused.
But anyone in dire need of a place to sleep and a meal to eat is always accommodated in our shelter homes provided they can use the washroom and have a bath by themselves .
But that is going to stop soon as our homes are completely full.
It pains my heart to say no , but there is really a demand for big big building to accommodate another 300 + homeless people.
Picking up any homeless sick/ wounded person from the streets is connected to doctor, medicines , visit to hospitals for checkup, etc and is directly related to resources in all forms.
We only survive and are able to do so much because of kindness and generosity in the form of donations from you our benefactors .
Support us in any way you wish .
We accept donations though cheque/ NEFT
We offer 80 G exemptions on all your donations along with your pan card copy.

GOA POLICE @ MAPUSA POLICE STATION, HELPS TO RESCUE AND BRINGS JOY AND NEW SIGHTS TO THIS HOMELESS GOAN MAN .

15.9.2020 6pm IST
GOA POLICE @ MAPUSA POLICE STATION, helps to rescues , and brings joy and new sight to this homeless goan man .
Street Providence Goa on 4.9.2020 had uploaded a post on Rajaram who was homeless with broken spectacles and cataract in 1 eye .
Thanks to Ajay Menon from Rotary Club , Mhapsya who arranged thru VISION HOSPITAL Mapusa this free operation.
1 month back the police personal @ Karaswaddo outpost, spotted Rajaram loitering around in the rain and in despair and got him to open up .
Immediately the police linked RAJARAM to our Incharge Sapnesh and they did his documentation and medical and admitted him to our rehabilitation home .
After a few days we realised he was blind in 1 eye due to cataract.
We made a few trips to the doctor and we bought him new spectacles and motivated him to go in for a cataract operation .
Operation was perfect and Rajaram is feeling blessed and happy.
God bless that Police man who was manning the outpost that day when RAJARAM was loitering .
If the policeman had to shoo him away or ignore Rajaram, then we never know where Rajaram would be today and what would be his physical condition.
We just helped him with the operation and a place to stay and he can stay with us as long as he wishes.
Too all Goa Police personal on the ground , please remember your 1 phone call to us can be a life changer.
You can be the person to bring joy and a new life to a homeless person on the streets of Goa .
We are ready to help and rehabilitate
any one at any time if they are homeless but through the following procedure:
☆ 1. Police Noc
☆ 2. Medical report
☆ 3. Covid test .
Directly we cant pick from the streets.
Risk is too much just in case they die in transit or in our home .
Last rites are a big issue as these homeless people have no documentation and too many hassles by various authorities.
For those who are unaware, 99 % people in our homes are taken care off without any fees .
Free food clothing medication shelter.
Support us in any way you wish .
We accept donations though cheque/ NEFT
We offer 80 G exemptions on all your donations along with your pan card copy.

THANKFUL TO NAVTARA GROUP OF RESTAURANTS, GOA , FOR THE ” PAY IT FORWARD , COUPON OF HOPE “.

14.9.2020 6pm IST
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR SANGOLDA GOA is thankful to NAVTARA GROUP OF RESTAURANTS, GOA , for the
” Pay it Forward , Coupon of Hope “.
Every time you have a meal at any Navtara outlet in Goa , you might just feel like buying a meal for the poor.
Navtara on 1st Aug 2020 had started A “Pay it Forward , Coupon of Hope ” where you buy a food coupon for Rs 40 and either :
♡ 1. Take the coupon along and give it               to a needy person who exchanges               this after any Navtara outlet and get           a warm meal or
♡ 2. Drop the coupon in the FOOD BANK           BOX which is on the counter or
♡ 3. You buy coupons/ meals online by             paying Navtara directly. @ Rs 40.
For the entire month of August 2020 ,
Food Bank has been Blessed with close to 1000 such coupons/ on line meals .
( Attached a picture of the total no of coupons donated by you all for the month of August 2020. )
That's a huge saving to our NGO and our homeless men relish these meals.
We cant feed much on the streets, as volunteers are trying to stay protected due to Covid .
But last 7 days we got a volunteer Mr John Baptist from Margao who is daily feeding 15 meals to the poor and hungry in that city with these coupons.
We are using these coupons wisely.
☆ See both in North & South Goa we      pick daily extra factory food in the afternoon from :
☆ COLGATE @ Kundaimn ind estate &
☆ COMMSCOPE @ Verna ind estate .
We also pick early morning food from all Navtara which is cooked the previous day .
But quantity is not assured and at times there is no extra food for the food bank from these factories and navtara.
That's where we use these coupons.
These coupons are a big blessing at short notice especially if food is spoilt .
Besides daily the homeless men cant eat the same food packets .
Keep supporting us @ FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR SANGOLDA by buying a coupon from any Navtara Restaurant.
Once again thanks alot to
Mr Carlos & his son Aditya and the entire team at Navtara for supporting us in this project.

STREET PROVIDENCE STANDS WITH OUR COVID WARRIORS, MRS. ANA GARCIA AND MR. ABY FROM CHIMBEL GOA .

12.9.2020 6pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA stands with our COVID Warriors, Mrs Ana Gracias and
Mr Aby from Chimbel Goa .
Watch the 4 min video please.
Remember , last month, we @
STREET PROVIDENCE had offered our Maruti Omni Ambulance free of cost to PHC @ Chimbel Goa for transportation of home bound , old , infirmed to the PHC for COVID testing.
This PHC covers Chimbel , St Cruz , Merces.
Thanks to another Covid Warrior , Dr Jude who is back at his PHC after getting the flu, but how fully recovered.
Mrs Ana Gracias has been instrumental in convincing me to offer our ambulance for this purpose .
The driver salary, PPE KITS and the fuel cost has been taken care by the Government though the local panchayat, supported by the North GOA Collector .
But the driver can't drive the ambulance alone and an attendant is required.
Mrs Ana Gracias has been the attendant for the last 1 month in the ambulance without any consideration.
It's tough volunteering free of cost (or even if a salary is paid ) to transport COVID affected people .
As a small sign of appreciation, We @ Street Providence today handed over
♡ 1. A cheque as Ana salary for august             2020 as an attendant of this                         ambulance
♡ 2. Inhalers for both the driver and Ana
♡ 3. High quality PPE kits from our side             just in case of emergency.
( No negative comments please )
I always believe every worker deserves ones wages / salary.
I am sure THE NORTH GOA COLLECTOR will support Mrs Ana for her salary from the month of September 2020.
Big thanks to a Benefactor from Taleigao who paid for these PPE kits in memory of her late husband who just passed away from the doctor negligence.
Surely his soul is resting in peace .
Thanks to Arturo from St Cruz took the video.
Also thanks to Sapnesh for all the daily
co ordination @ Street Providence .
Mrs Ana Gracias is one of a soul one rarely finds in today world.
Always ready to help the poor , sick , needy.
We @ Street Providence are proud of Ana and we will always support Ana in the future .
We are still looking to purchase another ambulance either new or 2nd hand but should be Eco or Omni.
We have another ( Goan) Covid Warrior cum full time qualified Nurse getting ready to serve on the streets in the coming days.
You need to have passion and determination to do such work for the poor , homeless, sick without expecting anything.
That's AGAPE .
We @ Street Providence give you that ready made platform.
Come join in as a volunteer. ( where everything works through WhatsApp only ).
Be blessed and be a blessing to others .
Incase anyone can help us , please let me know .
Stay safe , stay at home .
I am sure the ambulance we sowed at PHC Chimbel has brought the desired results.
Support us in any way you wish .
We accept donations though cheque/ NEFT
We offer 80 G exemptions on all your donations along with your pan card copy.

Live From The Field

10.9.2020 10am IST
OUR MEDICINE BANK @ STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA is thankful to S.K.BROS, C/o HELIOS LABORATORIES, AHMEDABAD for donating a huge Quantity of medical , surgical , ointments and basic medicines worth
Rs 1 lac .
Looking after homeless people is directly linked to medicines.
Medicines don't come cheap.
In this pandemic situation , Its only the FAVOUR OF GOD , they HELIOS LABORATORIES were inspired and motivated to donate these medical , surgical , ointments and basic medicines worth Rs 1 lac .
♡ Thanks to SAMUEL MUNSHI from TJUK MUMBAI & some one who I know from 1998 , who put in a good word to HELIOS LABORATORIES.
Infact JATIN bhai the man behind HELIOS LABORATORIES and myself were telephonically acquainted 8 years .
It was on a NEW YEARS DAY when one of their employees who speaks very less English was having some issues at Margao railway station.
My services were requested just to boost his morale up and being New Years Day, my wife said it's okay to help some one in need.
Issue got sorted out as there was a big language misunderstanding.
Relationship was maintained.
And this is how we were blessed to be sent Rs 1 lac worth of medical , surgical , ointments and basic medicines.
I always tell my volunteers and team members, do good without expecting anything because we are not social workers waiting to fight elections.
We are AGAPE people .
Blessing have to chase you .
Running an NGO on that scale that we run requires constant in flow of resources and funds and blessings.
I have to have that FAITH daily , that God is providing everything through you and through so many other people who read about our NGO.
Support us in any way you can

RESCUED FROM STREETS RAJARAM CHODANKAR A GOAN HINDU MAN FROM COLVALE AGED 62 YEARS.

4.9.2020 4pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA rescues from the streets , this GOAN MAN and provides shelter and medication so that he survives this COVID 19.
♡ Rajaram Chodankar is a GOAN HINDU MAN from colvale aged 62 years
I understand from him that he is unmarried and most of his family members are deceased or untraceable and his house at COLVALE has fallen down and he cant rebuild the same.
Cataract in his 1 eye, so his vision is blurred and a complete broken spectacles with the glass missing from one spectacle frame and the handle which goes over his ears is broken.
Wandering around he one day reached KHARASWAWADDO police outpost, Mapusa.
And 2 days prior to this , we had fogged the same outpost and that's how RAJARAM reached our home.
Thanks to God , that the constable at the outpost @ KHARASWAWADDO remembered Street Providence and called Sapnesh.
This is the reason Street Providence works closely with GOA POLICE.
The police are always in 1st contact with such homeless people .
If the police man / woman knows which rehabilitation home Is around to help such homeless people then PRAISE THE LORD.
Else that homeless person will just be ignored and might end up loitering here and there and finally be dead on the streets.
GOA Police @ Mapusa Police Station did all the necessary paper work ( inspite of the COVID & being stretched) and handed him door delivery to our home at Assnora.
We quarantined Rajaram for 14 days and he took good rest as he was tired , hungry, stressed , disappointed and was desperate for food, clothing, shelter, company .
We recently took him for a medical check up as well as replaced his SPECTACLES.
He requires an operation in his 1 eye and we require you incase you can to help us with the Bill's.
A simple, down to earth man , Rajaram is a cook and he wishes to be occupied the whole day .
Most of the time , I also in the past and many of you too would just drive away such people.
After all in a PANDEMIC situation no one would like to help another.
But @ STREET PROVIDENCE it's not like that.
We are at times the last stop place for such people.
We are trying to rehabihatate many more such homeless people but SPACE is the issue .
We have :
☆ Food
☆ Clothes
☆ Care givers
☆ Vans
☆ Good benefactors
     Etc
But No SPACE .
All houses are full.
If we do not pick up or attempt to rehabilitate, people complain to me and say ” you are only asking for donations but not helping the homeless “.
We are ready with 30 days from today to admitt 500 people more from the streets but give me the SPACE.
THE IRONY IS , WE ARE ALREADY IN A HOME WHICH CAN HOLD THESE 500 HOMELESS PEOPLE BUT WE ARE ASKED TO VACCATE WITHIN JUST 4 MONTHS OF ENTERING THIS HOME .
Very Close yet far .
500 lost souls can be looked after with free food shelter medicines.
The EVIL ONE has got the owners of this home with their EGO being the main issue.
Pray that the better sense prevails over the owners of this home as the PANDEMIC is going on and finding another home is not that easy.
The words Humanity, Poverty , poor , homeless for me is only in the HOLY BOOKS .
Today Rajaram Chodankar lives and sleeps in peace knowing he now has Street Providence as his family to spend his remaining life .
Last few weeks , our medical expenses are hitting the roof as practically daily we are taking one homeless person or the other to the hospital and doctors.
For those who are unaware, 99 % people in our homes are taken care off without any fees .
Free food clothing medication shelter.
Support us in any way you wish .
We accept donations though cheque/ NEFT
We offer 80 G exemptions on all your donations along with your pan card copy.

A GOAN WIDOW, MRS. PRABHAVATHI PILANKAR WHO WAS SICK N WEAK BUT NOW READY TO START AFRESH.

3.9.2020 6pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA presents you a Goan Widow, Mrs Prabhavathi Pilankar who was really very very sick and weak but now ready to start afresh.
On 26.8.2020 we had admitted this Goan Widow into a private hospital as most of her parameters were below normal due to hunger and malnutrition.
Remember Mrs Prabhavathi Pilankar and her son were staying in a home which almost fell down and they were in a pathetic state .
Picture of the home attached.
Thanks to JMJ hospital Porvorim for admitting Mrs Prabhavathi Pilankar into the hospital and treating her to an extent that she can now sit .
In this COVID 19 period ,
getting into a hospital is difficult,
getting treated is FAVOUR OF GOD.
♡ Big thank you to Sr VALANKA, de facto incharge of JMJ hospital, who willingly said yes to my request on 26.8.2020.
♡ Thanks to Dr Rylind , Dr Meliisa and the nurses who attended to this goan lady.
Mrs Prabhavathi Pilankar was looked after in the hospital 24 hours for the last 9 days by a young homeless boy Mr ROHIN KHAN.
The worst part in looking after homeless sick people is hospital or hospitalization.
You require some one along with the patient 24 *7 to report to the nurse all and any details while the patient is being treated especially when put on drips or when the patient is uncomfortable.
The cost of such person varies from Rs 800 to Rs 1500 normally.
Rohin Khan our care giver did the 9 days service without a complain .
Also thanks to Yash , ( Ruth son who actually helped them get out of that broken down home ) who stayed a few hours daily to relieve Rohin Khan so that he could go home have a bath and refresh himself.
Overall it was all team work.
Now the rehabilitation part .
Since Mrs Prabhavathi Pilankar will take time to get her strength ( her son is taking psychiatric medication as he is totally shaken up ) we can't shift her to the flat , we requested Mrs Josephine from Amazing Grace to accommodate Mrs Prabhavathi Pilankar .
Street Providence has employed a young goan nurse full time who will be attending to Mrs Prabhavathi Pilankar at Amazing Grace as well as checking on the health of all our homeless street people in all our homes.
Today Mrs Prabhavathi Pilankar was admitted into Amazing Grace .
We are fortunate to be able to help
Mrs Prabhavathi Pilankar and her son to get a slightly better environment to live their lives .
Mrs Prabhavathi Pilankar and her son should consider themselves blessed that they are well looked after .
There must be many more Goan Widows out there who we might have missed to help .
The main issue is SPACE.
If we get SPACE we can assure that no WIDOW in Goa will be left to fend for themselves on the streets of Goa .
Free food , clothing, shelter, medicine.
All We require a big home so that all such homeless people can be looked after.
Becomes very easy for doctor visits, nurse daily check ups , gets bonding going between a elders who may want the company of youngsters and creates bonding and parental guidance.
The issue is, WE ARE ALREADY In such a home where 500 such homeless people can be looked after comfortably but we are being asked to leave.
Imagine :
▪︎500 lost people being given a second         chance ,
▪︎500 homeless & sick treated under 1           roof,
