A 70 YEARS OLD GOAN WIDOW PICKED UP

24.11.2021  5 pm IST
A 70 years old goan widow picked up by STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA , and in the  last 13 days, she  has been living and sleeping in the vicinity of a hospital .
Thanks to Mapusa Police Station,  who did her verification,  we have moved her into our shelter home.
When this case reached me 4 days back and I saw her video , I felt like crying .
Video is in konkanni . 👇
For us religion , Caste,  creed,  which state , etc is not important.
If it's a human and we can help , we will help,  rest I don't care and I don't ask questions.
Quite often the cases are complicated and from families and we just can't complie with.
First of all , she is old , a widow,  sick,  rejected,  sleeping and waiting for help in public places in the vicinity of a hospital, yet no help for 13 days.
And everyday it's raining cats and dogs .
Women Law officers / Pink Law officers,  all talk .
This lady can be any one mother , grand mother   aunty , relative , etc.
This particular area has weekly 2 to 3 homeless people loitering around .
Lady is tired, stressed and weak .
She had a nice clean up , warm bath and I am sure she will sleep peacefully for the next few days.
Will look into her medical part in the next few days .
Just incase anyone knows her or recognises her and her family let me know through whatsapp on 8380097564.
She can stay with us as long as she wishes.
We are in the festive season and what better way to bring a cheer on a poor homeless desperate sick goan widow rather than just walking away thinking ” it's not my concern “.
We require your support.
If any Government hospital in Goa has such homeless who require help after treatment in the hospital and no place for them to go , pls get in touch with me thru whatsapp on 8380097564.
It's easy to admitt such people directly from the hospital rather finding them on the streets
If you know such people who require help in Goa, stuck up on roads, bus stops , hospitals, gardens, etc please reach out and talk to them and see what help they require.
Always go to the nearest police station and complain.
We don't pick any one without proper verification by the Police.
If our assistance is required,  pls whatsapp me on 8380097564.
If we can help we will let you know on the spot , yes or no .
Some cases are beyond our capacity.
But we can try .
We require your support and help to reach out to them who are HELPLESS & homeless.
Support us in whatever way you can.

We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.

REQUIRES YOUR HELP TO RENOVATE THIS HOME WHICH CAN ACCOMMODATE 80 OLD, HOMELESS, SICK & MEN WITH DISABILITIES

17.11.2021   8pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA requires your help to renovate this home which can accommodate 80 old,  homeless , sick & men with disabilites at Quepem .
With our 3 mens  homes already overloaded we have decided a few months back to start another home.
Our search took us to Quepem a few months back.
A Very big home with the 20 rooms in total, built
on two floors enough to hold 80 men , with 4 in each room and each room having individual rest rooms.
A perfect place for rehabilitation in nature ,  surrounded with greenery..
Fr Lucio, Episcopal Vicar for South Zone , today blessed the commencement of the renovation work estimated at Rs 15 lacs , in the presence of our Volunteer Mr Orlando Mesquita, Akash Pednekar and the owner of the building and their family members.
Home was built in 2011 by the landlord as he desired to help the poor and the homeless but due to reasons beyond his control the home never took off.
As it has been closed last 10 years , the infrastructure has lost some of its strength and renovation is the need of the hour for us before admission starts.
Attached a small video of the building and the different types of work to be undertaken.
We require :
▪︎Cement bags & sand
▪︎Wall tiles
▪︎Floor tiles
▪︎Paint
▪︎Plumbing material
▪︎Electrical material
▪︎Cutlery,  crockery
▪︎Furniture
▪︎Bedding
▪︎Etc .
And alot of other items to get this house up & running .
You can also sponsor a room in memory of a loved one or in thanks giving for blessings received from God and we will put up the name on the room sponsored.
We recently celebrated the festival of Lights
” DIWALI ” & we will be approaching the Birth of Jesus Christ  ” CHRISTMAS ” , and what better way to help the poor and needy , by supporting us in this home with your blessings either through the material required or through your donations during this Festive season of Lights and Festive season of Giving .
All our mens home are not Government funded and we have to daily raise resources, as we daily are practically picking the homeless from streets, bus stops, hospitals, etc strictly through Goa Police and most of the people in our homes are provided free food,  clothes , medication , transportation to hospitals , etc .
To all our Benefactors who have stood by us and are still standing , ” without your blessings we not have reached this far in such a short time of 4 years “.
We require your support and help to reach out to them who are HELPLESS & homeless.
Support us in whatever way you can.
Donate generously to our NGO.
We offer you 50% exemption under 80G on your donations.
Donations only through cheque /NEFT along with your pan card copy .

GETS OFF THE STREETS OF GOA UNDER THE FLYOVER AT BAMBOLIM GOA MR. ASHISH RAJU Dube, ORIGINALLY FROM PUNE

16.11.2021  7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA , gets off the streets of Goa , under the flyover , at Bambolim Goa ,
Mr Ashish raju Dube, originally from Pune at 5pm on 15.11.2021.
Ashish was so weak, dehydrated and malnourished,  that when I saw him on 15.11.21 at 8.30 am , he could barely stand and was depending on the pillar of the flyover to walk.
I called my team and we decided to help him in the evening.
Goa Police @ Agassiam Police station was informed who were physically present when he was picked up .
Video attached of 2 min . 👇
Ashish skull / head as per the picture is completely stitched and since who knows when, he has been under that flyover.
Various people told us he has been there last
3 to 4 days .
I mean it's really dangerous to be living right on the road,  with pain of the operation, hunger, the rain , the mosquitoes , etc .
And no one did anything in those 4 days to get him off that road .
With so many flyover being built in Goa, these  underbridges are turning out to be a spot for such homeless people to stay till help reaches them .
We had actually gone to help / to pick another elderly homeless bearded man who was sleeping in the same spot , but on seeing the police he ran away from there.
It's going to be a difficult job understanding Ashish and the stitches to his head .
In the last 24 hours , Mr Ashish is sleeping like a small kid .
Too much of pain and stress he has gone through .
If any one recognises him or knows him , please contact me on 8380097564 .
Young man , may be from the labour line .
Can't tell anything as of now but surely he is in pain .
Practically everyday we get calls to pick the homeless.
Picking is not an issue .
The issue is :
▪︎1. All homes are overloaded
▪︎2. Once a man is picked,  the care giver requires atleast 7 days to stabilize each such man .
▪︎3. Getting them daily to hospitals for various checkups and follow ups .
It takes alot of time , energy and resources moving these sick homeless people to hospitals for daily dressings,  follow up,  checking.
With many such cases already in hand it gets tight on the care giver to handle so many cases at one time.
And none  of them have valid ID or case papers so that adds to the cost in the hospitals.
If any Government hospital in Goa has such homeless men ( not women ) who require help after treatment in the hospital and no place for them to go , pls get in touch with me thru whatsapp on 8380097564.
It's easy to admitt such men directly from the hospital rather finding them all messed up on the streets with no case papers.
If you know such people who require help in Goa, stuck up on roads, bus stops , hospitals, gardens, etc please reach out and talk to them and see what help they require.
Always go to the nearest police station and complain.

PAYS OUR HUMBLE TRIBUTE TO LATE Sr AUGUSTA DSOUZA, FROM HOLY CROSS , KHORLIM, MAPUSA, GOA

15.11.2021  7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA,  pays our humble tribute to late Sr Augusta Dsouza, from Holy Cross , Khorlim, Mapusa, Goa, who died on 14.11.21 and was buried today.
♡♡♡ A nun , a teacher by profession & a social worker is who Sr was, but I describe her as a wonderful human being !
In 1990 , Sr Agusta was awarded a National award for being the best teacher in India by the Late President of India Sir R.Venkataraman in New Delhi.
☆ In early 2019, I happened to receive an encouraging whatsapp message from Sr Agusta, regarding our work towards the homeless & hungry .
That was the seed she sowed in our NGO at the age of 81 years in 2019.
Over the next few months , she would arrange groceries , clothes etc for our rehabilitation homes.
Casually one day while I was sitting with
Sr Agusta , we were discussing about poor homeless women and I saw something in her eyes.
Although she was 81 years old ,  home bound due to her age with partial hearing problems ,  yet she shared my passion of rehabilitation of homeless street women.
I casually asked her ” Sr, why doesn't your congregation work with our NGO & togther we can live our passion “.
That's all .
She took the suggestion and put me on to quite a number of Nuns and even introduced me to the Provincial who had just taken over .
Sr Agusta introduced us to Remanso Hospital which is run by their congregation and is a big help to our homeless people during any medical emergencies.
Sr Agusta after her retirement from teaching and being a headmistress in numerous of their schools worked ceaselessly for the welfare of poor women and try to help them .
That's how Sr Agusta could connect with me.
On the intervention of  Sr Agusta we actually started a home for alcoholic street women in mid 2020 with the support of the Provincial.
But due to the 1st wave of Covid and heavy rainfall during the entire June,  July,  August 2020 , we closed down the home as admitting alcoholic ladies from the Government hospitals during Covid posed a problem.
It was to scary at that time in June 2020 and with mutual consent, I understood that the risk is too high, should something go wrong with the nuns in this home.
She was a bit disappointed but she said ” don't lose heart , I have sowed the seeds , Rest we leave to God “.
But we always kept in touch and Sr Agusta would arrange benefactors for our work and send me encouraging messages.
I was aware that her health was failing and yesterday she breathed her last .
But she tried to always help anyone and all who ever require help .
I am sure Sr Agusta's wish was to have a home in Goa , supported by her congregation , to help the
homeless street alcoholic women .
And I would love to live that dream by starting such a home for alcoholic women supported by her congregation.
It will be a perfect gift , tribute, memory to the seed which she sowed and said ” Rest we leave to God “.
I end by saying ” Farewell Sr Agusta , I learnt many things from you in our short association”.
Surely your soul is resting in Peace!
“You have finished the race” now its mine and our turn to run that same race for which  you sowed the seeds.
God bless you all.

PICKS THIS HOMELESS MAN MR. ALTAF, FROM CHICALIM HEALTH CENTRE

14.11.2021  5pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA, picks this homeless man Mr Altaf , from Chicalim Health Centre , two days ago .
Altaf was admitted into Chicalim Health centre on 24th October by the police .
Alcohol over took  him completely so much that he has been diagnosed with Alcoholic Liver disease as per his case papers.
From 27th Oct till 11th Nov he was treated at GMC & referred back to Chicalim.
Very un co operative and aggressive.
Plenty of reasons.
But so weak that he could not get up and stand by himself.
Video attached. 👇
Can't control his toilet habits and totally incapacitated , on pampers as he has lost control of his bowel moments.
Sounds sad and complicated.
When Dr Anil called me asking if I can help with rehab , I said yes .
I knew it was difficult,  but two days ago , similar type of case was there outside at Chicalim slope .
Another young man, but did not want to stay in a hospital and very very violent was sleeping on the road .
That man had created a ruckus and broke things in the hospital.
It was too complicated to handle.
For Altaf , it was going to be a little easy as we had his case history and he had not yet moved out of the hospital but neither can he be kept back as he needed shelter to recover.
Our team when shown the pictures too were hesitant.
I explained ” if we only pick the good people then God will substitute us “.
We need to help or atleast attempt to try to rehab him .
Explained to Dr Anil and my team ” if in 7 days,  we can't manage,  we will send him back to the hospital “.
All agreed.
☆ 12th Nov , Douglas went to pick him.
He too was in doubt ( which he has a right to be ) whether we are going to be able to help and rehab Altaf .
I REMINDED myself ” AVAILABILITY ” & not
” ABILITY ” and if we try on our own will to rehab Altaf , we will not succeed,  but we need to ask God for that strength to help Altaf recover .
Douglas picks Altaf at 2 pm comes to IPHB , gets him examined and medicines are prescribed.
I am monitoring this man on the CCTV continously every 2 hours .
12th Night : report says he is too aggressive and he can't eat .
13th early morning we send Milk , Ensure & Eggs.
Iphb Medication is taking effect but very slowly .
13th Night : report says he is eating but can't control his toilet movements  not standing without help , not interested to walk .
I ask the care giver to see with his eyes and believe that Altaf is standing,  using the wash room, attempting to walk.
The care giver if not motivated and encouraged on time to time basis , will also get demoralized and results will not be there quickly .
Negative energy will slowly creap in and we will hit a road block.
14th morning : report says things have improved slightly as the Ensure and milk and eggs is what he can eat .
Today 1 pm : Altaf walked slowly 100 meters by himself , with the care giver by his side.
In the next 7 days, I believe with  Faith and with the support of the care giver, that Altaf is back on track to fully able to use the washroom,  eat by himself,  have a bath by himself and take care of himself.
Last two & half days , Altaf has to be fed and attended to 24 hours continuously.
I thank God for we being able to reach out and accept Altaf into our home, inspite of his condition being extremely bad .
I can't post certain pictures when we picked him .
None of our care givers in all our men's home are having any medical qualifications and any sort of training to handle such difficult cases.
It's just the passion, attitude and desire to go beyond what the eyes can see that makes these care givers do their calling.
All our men caregivers were themselves in the past on the streets in pathetic conditions once upon a time,  so its easy for them to understand pain, rejection , etc .

PRESENTS YOU OUR VOLUNTEER MR. ORLANDO MESQUITA, FROM BENAULIM.

11.11.2021  7pn IST
AVAILABILITY v/s ABILITY
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA , presents you our Volunteer Mr Orlando Mesquita, from Benaulim.
Orlando has been associated with our NGO as a volunteer right from Dec 2017.
I remember , when we just started our 1st home in Dec 2017, Orlando would pick men from the streets of Margao & Coastal area and bring them to our home.
He would literally pick , clean and get them to have a bath,  put them in his car and drive quite often from Margao to Porvorim .
This went on for 1 year and in Dec 2018 , when we started in Cavelossim our other men home he would drop men there.
Always cheerful and AVAILABLE .
When we started another home in margao , Orlando was a big help in setting up and repairing the home
A successful and honest Builder by profession , this is the only volunteer who has stood with our NGO from start till date .
♡♡ Orlando is contactable on 9011057972.
And he answers all calls .
He never tries to work on his ABILITY but only on AVAILABILITY.
Last 6 months,  Orlando is practically taking care of 25+ homeless men on a daily basis at our Cavelossim home.
He comes every morning and every evening to the home all the way from Benaulim.
He has started with these homeless men :
▪︎1. A small plant nursery
▪︎2. Cultivated 3 different vegetable gardens.
▪︎3. Started Coco Peat manufacturing
And thus kept all these homeless men , who majority are disabled totally occupied.
He drives them to hospital , to doctors,  for checkups to health centres without a grumble .
He never feels dirty or afraid of blood , urine smell or any other defects in these homeless men .
He treats all men with the same passion and approach irrespective of their sickness or their disabilites.
I at times wonder what makes this man want to help such people inspite of their disabilites.
The answer which comes back is AVAILABILITY.
ORLANDO knows their :
▪︎Medication,
▪︎Appointments ,
▪︎Food habits,
▪︎Internal issues
He is OUR NGO man for all situations in Cavelossim home .
We employed many men with decent Salary in this particular home at Cavelossim but it never was easy for them to come with the feeling of AVAILABILITY like Orlando has shown .
No complaints,  no murmuring,  no short cuts is how I can describe Orlando.
Speaks softly, slowly and very quietly.
But his work is extraordinary because of his AVAILABILITY & not ABILITY .
When we started this home in late Dec 2018 , I often wondered how this home would be managed as the distance is 70 kms approx 1 way from Sangolda .
But God had prepared this man ORLANDO MESQUITA even before we started the Cavelossim home.
Orlando AVAILABILITY to reach out to the homeless street men was there right from
Dec 2017.
With much humility I can say , with Orlando on the job at Cavelossim,  alot of pressure and stress has been taken away from my shoulders as I sleep peacefully being assured any issue in CAVELOSSIM home , Orlando will take care .
He has created his own team in this home from the homeless men itself.
And today as we embark on another men's home in QUEPEM TALUKA,  where the renovation work is about to start , ORLANDO again has shown his AVAILABILITY.
It's surely THE GRACE OF GOD & THE FAVOUR OF GOD which had brought such a man like ORLANDO to our NGO .
AND HE IS NOT PAID A SINGLE RUPEE AS SALARY .
When at times Orlando is occupied with his work,  his son steps in for his dad .
If you reading this post are inspired by ORLANDO & believes in AVAILABILITY then we can connect through whatsapp only on 8380097564.
Our NGO is always looking for Volunteers across Goa who share my dream of looking after 500 homeless people one day in Goa .
It can be full time with a basic salary or
It can be part time or
Free & voluntarily with any salary .
But it's AVAILABILITY not ABILITY.
Another good point about Orlando , is alot of his family members,  relatives & friends are today our benefactors and are often blessing our NGO
I thank God, for the gift of Orlando :
to the homeless poor people ,
to me &
to our NGO
God bless you all

GETS THIS MAN OFF THE STREETS OF ST. CRUZ, TISWADI

10.11.2021  10am   IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA gets this man off the streets of St Cruz, Tiswadi on 8.11.2021.
For the last 1 month, I received many calls requesting to get this man off the road.
Location given was ” under pass of St cruz , Nr Niyaz restaurant “.
But no one sent any pictures of him & the location , only calling and saying help him .
☆ This man Dilip Mule , has been sleeping right in the middle of the road , on the divider, of the Cujira ( fly over ) underpass.
The next underpass of Niyaz restaurant up the road to Gmc .
Video attached. 👇
On Sunday, I was going to south goa and had to meet a person at Merces Circle.
Person requested to come to Niyaz Restaurant & that meant I had to go on the service road and not the HIGHWAY.
Finished my work and proceeded up the service road to join the highway up at GMC.
At Cujira underpass I saw this mam sleeping .
I proceeded to south goa and on my return , past 7 pm I came down the service road to panjim .
Stopped by and saw Dilip exactly in the same place, covered up in all his bedding with plenty of thrash around that divider.
If by chance he just slipped on the road while sleeping and some vehicle over went him then that driver would be in trouble.
Monday our team agreed to pick him .
On Monday , I informed the Old Goa Inspector about this man.
Within no time,  the police got Dilip to get up and that entire divider was clean by Dilip himself.
All his rubbish and stuff was packed and kept one side.
Dilip was sitting on the other side in the bus stop.
Initially he refused to get off the bus stop .
But if left there , 100 % by evening he would be back at the same spot with his belongings.
Police by force and convincing managed to get him into our car as by now he had walked away from the bus stop towards panjim .
It seems he may be having some health issues.
The Old Goa Inspector was really quick in getting his men to reach the spot before we reached.
Last 2 days , he is quite in our home and getting detoxified as he was drinking to kill the agony of the dirt and swam of mosquitoes.
Frankly speaking,  i was not inclined to pick him from the time the calls were coming for over a month.
I may be getting Lazy I feel at times or I felt that he might require major hospitalization as the man was described to me by various calls making it look like some major case, but no one sent pictures or videos of him and I just ignored their calls.
But God had different plans.
If that person had come to Merces circle i would have gone over the flyover that day to south and not even known that Dilip was still there at CUJIRA underpass.
He was all soiled,  unclean , dirty and tired.
Not very old as I assumed but may be 50 or 55 years .
If you know such people who require help in Goa, stuck up on roads, bus stops , hospitals, gardens, etc please reach out and talk to them and see what help they require.
Always go to the nearest police station and complain.
If our assistance is required,  pls whatsapp me on 8380097564.
If we can help we will let you know on the spot , yes or no .

WE ALL DREAM AND WE TRY TO LIVE THAT DREAM

8.11.2021  7pm IST
This post has a poster attached which says by Dec 2020 I will be taking care of 500 homeless people.
And now we are in Nov 2021 and I am only taking care of ONLY 100 homeless people .
We all Dream and we try to live that dream, no matter how long it takes to materialize.
My dream is still to take care of 500 homeless,  old , people with disabilities, etc in Goa .
So why this type of dream in today's world.
Read on
From 2004 to 2012 , my life was a confusion.
I am introduced to  this man in 2012 ( who is a bigger dreamer than me if I can call him a dreamer).
But this man was strictly working ON THE WORD.
I started volunteering with him in his work and learnt lots of things including rehabilitating alcoholic men.
He had at that time about 50 men in his rehabilitation home but the capacity was about 200.
And he went on speaking his dream whenever I met him during those 2 years .
By 2014 , this man helped me to get over all my problems , WITH THE WORD and I decided to do something for the poor , abandoned,  homeless,  people with disabilites , alcoholic , etc .
It is a gratitude towards God for helping me over come all my problems and giving me this blessed life of reaching out to the poorest of the poor in Goa.
We parted ways in 2014 from his set up,  but kept in touch everytime he visited Goa .
I attended his teachings and followed him on you tube  and realized that if he can rehab 50 men so can I.
It took me a few years to get this dream into action .
From mid 2014 till mid 2017 , God provided me resources to create so many projects as that time there was no NGO .
After numerous small projects like the food bank fridges , Ambulance for the poor , free water taps, etc in Dec 2017 , our Ngo started our 1st home for the homeless street men .
Some where early 2019 , our NGO got a massive building which could actually hold 500 homeless people under one roof .
My dream was there right Infront of me .
I was excited that I will be able to look after 500 homeless,  poor , abandoned goan men & women.
But that dream stsrted getting shattered early Jan 2020,  but the poster had been made in Jan 2019.
Some where late 2019 , this man who I follow , started a real dream to build and look after 500 men under one roof in the same place where I met him in 2012.
20 % of the structure was up and I said to myself ” FANTASTIC, Praise God “.
But like me,  his dream too collapsed and not the structure and by Feb 2020 , he moved away from that place .
I understood his pain and brokenness of not being able to live that dream of his .
Early Jan 2021 , we moved out of that big building just within 1 year of entering it and spending alot of money .
Forgiven and moved ahead.
In March 2020 , 1st wave and then May 2021 , 2nd Wave, but our NGO still was able to look after only 100 people as the was a space constraint.
But I held on to my dream and went on posting this same poster at times just to remind me about my dream .
And many wrote back to me saying,  bro ” we are in 2021 , but your poster is saying 2020.”
Very soon  it will be JAN 2022, & we will be able to add another 100 , ie 80 men & 20 women as two more homes are starting.
Men's home in Quepem Taluka  & women home in Salcette Taluka.
So our capacity will be 200 , and not yet 500.
But God has better plans and plans which are for my Welfare and not destruction.
There are Two big homes ,  built in 2011 in Quepem Taluka , which is lying unoccupied & this is where God is taking me and we intend to rent these homes.
1st home can hold 80 men and the 2nd home can hold another 100 men .
When this 2nd home starts the capacity will be 300.
Still not close to 500.
Same compound both homes .
But I will believe and live the dream what the poster says with this post.
We were starting to renovate the small home 1st ,  which can hold 80 men , as it's a one month job costing Rs 1500000 to get going and running.
This 1st home built strictly for rehabilitation with 20 rooms is able to hold 4 men per room with attached washrooms .
I know deep down in my heart , I will one day live that dream of helping and rehabilitating 500 homeless people thanks to my Teacher who for those 2 years gave me an opportunity to learn and understand HOW THE WORD is to be lived and believed.
I am sure My Teacher ( who is a bigger dreamer than me ) still has his dream .
No one knows Gods Plan .
So please don't mind reading a poster saying by Dec 2020 , we will rehabilitating 500 people .
Looking forward to your prayers and support as I live my dream of taking in, many many poor goans suffering from depression , alcohol,  mental & physical disabilities , Homelessness,  those abandoned by their families,  the old and infirmed , unwed mothers and people suffering from Hiv, etc .
Anybody homeless in Goa who requires a place to stay and two meals to eat along with medication will be accommodate , Subject to procedure and rules .
And it's all FREE,  NO CHARGES for the poorest of the poor  .
Approx 25 years back , one man changed my Teacher direction.
Approx 10 years back my Teacher changed my directions and so many like me had their directions changed.
Today I have an opportunity to reach out to so many homeless,  sick , old , abandoned   etc.
I and you togther can step out of OUR COMFORT ZONE to MAKE OTHERS LIFE COMFORTABLE.
If you are inspired like me to help the homeless and the poorest of the poor in Goa , then please get in touch with me through whatsapp only on 8380097564.
No calling please as my phone is already having alot of traffic.
God bless you all

GOA POLICE, PROVIDES HELP TO THIS HOMELESS LADY ON THIS DAY OF DIWALI

4.11.2021.  8 Pm IST
GOA POLICE , provides Help to this homeless lady on this day of DIWALI , THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHT.
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST GOA, wishes you all A Very Happy Diwali, the festival of lights.
Today Mr Sagar , a Policeman from Vasco Police Station , brought light to this old abandoned women by making a call to me asking if we can help .
Imagine if Mr Sagar, had ignored her and driven her away.
Also without the support of Mr Hassan Khan,  this lady would be still on the streets.
Read on.
A few days ago , i received a call from
Mrs Mona, Vasco city , asking to help this old lady , Mrs Parvati.
Parvati is homeless and has lost her only daughter, a few months/ years ago , as I gather and is roaming around Vasco.
Being a migrant , she has her own share of troubles in her old age.
Mrs Mona gets in touch with the Government shelter home who complicates the issue by requesting a letter from the municipality stating she is from Vasco city .
Mrs Mona approaches the councilor who agrees to give the letter but Mona does not receive the letter.
In the meantime the lady must have been sent to the police station to request for help from Street Providence.
Today morning , Sagar , calls me requesting for help .
We agree.
Immediately I call Mr Hassan our volunteer from Vasco.
Inspite of being a holiday , Hassan volunteers to help &  we agree to hire the taxi & accompany the police. Etc .
Finally all agree to get this lady off the streets.
Since it's Diwali, we understand the Police will be patrolling so they can't provide their car.
We hire a car as this lady needs treatment at the IPHB and our team at porvorim is on other duty so we can't send a car from porvorim .
Parvati is under stress and is having issues with her mind.
Moving Parvati directly into our home is not proper as she will disturb others .
Vasco Police Station agrees to get a Magistrate Order but 2 problems occur.
1. No extra police car
2. Today courts are closed
But its DIWALI and that lady requires to get off the streets.
Goa Police, Sub Inspector Mrs. Santos E Fernandes PSI of Vasco Police station &
Lady constanle Mrs. Shainaz Desai from Vasco PS & Hassan , drive to Margao , to  the Magistrate residence,  who is very kind to sign the order .
Then drive back to Chicalim Health Centre for the medical & then drive to IPHB , Bambolim for admission and treatment.
If we can do it as an NGO ,  what stops the Government shelter home which is suppose to do this work , from doing the same.
Unwanted complications and unwanted  paper work .
This Is the job of the Local Municipalities and the agency which is the authority to get such homeless people off the streets from all municipalities of Goa.
Its way past 7 pm and her medical examination like CT Scan Etc is done at GMC before she is actually admitted into IPHB.
Incase any one recognizes her and her family pls get in touch with us on whatsapp on 8380097564.
Our team and our volunteers are covering entire Goa and our services are free.
Thanks to Goa Police for the support in our fight against homelessness in Goa .
It's a struggle where poor and homeless are concerned.
We are there and everywhere in Goa with our team and our volunteers,  trying to help whenever there is a Request.
God has brought committed and compassionate volunteers to our NGO who share my dream of helping people on the streets of Goa
It's all case to case basis.
The informant does his / her part and we do our part.
We have a procedure to help the homeless and we use the support of Goa Police before picking up any homeless person as anything can go wrong and we would not like to be caught on the wrong foot.
The support Of Goa Police for the last 4 years across major police stations towards our NGO in our fight against homelessness is very encouraging and well accepted.

2.11.2021  3pm IST
♡♡ Nurse Rekha, from District Hospital, Mapusa gets this man Pappu into our home last week.
Diwali Is a festival about light and Nurse Rekha has provided some light to this abandoned homeless man in the hospital.
Pappu has been admitted through 108 for over a few weeks.
Weak and can't walk well &  has a CATHETHER.
Plus he is totally stressed and depressed lying in the hospital in a sorry state , but that's all his own fault .
Has a family he says and wants to start life again.
Nurse Rekha , shows Compassion by getting in touch with us requesting if he can be shifted to our home as he has been in the hospital for a very long time and the bed can be freed for another patient and getting his paperwork organized.
We agree and last week we moved him to our home on certain condition agreeable to both , our NGO & THE HOSPITAL .
Not going to be easy to handle this man as he is too weak .
But our care givers will give it a try to provide care and rehabilitation .
If any such homeless people are stuck up in any Government Hospital / PHC / UHC in Goa and require a place to stay and recover , we will accept for free .
Conditions apply on case to case basis.
If we can manage to look after and provide after care, then we will only accept.
Otherwise that patient will need more time to recover in the hospital before moving them to our homes .
If any Doctor , nurse , etc know such poor homeless men abandoned in any Government hospital and requiring help,  pls let me know only thru whatsapp on 8380097564.
1st Priorty will be for homeless Goans and on case to case basis , provided the patient can walk,  use the washroom and not incapacitated besides other conditions
