PRESENTS YOU A TOTALLY CHANGED HOMELESS , ABANDONED & SICK MAN

23.5.2022  7pn IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA presents you a TOTALLY  changed homeless , abandoned & sick man
Mr Rakesh , from UP , who once upon a time on 3.2.2021 was so weak that he could barely walk.
During peak covid 19 wave ,  our NGO took in alot of homeless people.
Rakesh was one of them.
Attached a small video of Rakesh . 👇
One day in late Jan 21 , i received a call from District Hospital Mapusa, saying a young boy needs rehabilitation.
Our team met Rakesh and belive me , he was too weak , skinny,  on a caterer , undernourished and totally lost and dazed .
We took him into our shelter home as if he was  discharged he would be back on the sheets and that could be very costly to his life .
Initially it was very very difficult stabilizing him .
We even got him operated for hernia.
His one hand was bent and his all movements were very slow and not in tandem .
But the care givers and our team members took great pain in looking after him .
Numerous trips to hospitals and back.
Numerous tests and reports .
Slowly he started getting better .
Medication,  nutrition , love and care started working for Rakesh .
Rakesh put on weight , started doing small chores in the house and started taking responsibility of bathing and cleaning up other men just like he was bathed,  fed and cleant.
Good young boy .
Never trouble or never attempted to run away once better.
Few days from now we will be sending him Home to his village in UP as that's what he intends to do .
He wants to start life afresh .
A tailor by profession that's what he says.
He also wishes to come back and serve in our NGO looking after the other men who daily enter our homes from streets, hospitals,  police stations, etc .
Once they go home very rarely any one comes back to help us and that's okay .
We have surely missed many many such cases as not all the times such homeless people are brought to our NGO notice .
Today it's very scary and expensive looking after such people.
We have close to 120+ men & women, in our 6 homes either abandoned,  sick , Old , mentally & physically challenged, etc .
Scary because the nos are increasing on the streets of Goa
Expensive because inflation is at 16% and everything is just going up .
There is going to be a big crisis for the homeless street people in Goa soon .
We are still accepting the homeless but there is a huge running cost .
We thank all our benefactors for the support month after month,  year after year .
Its all about GRACE & SOWING .
Gods Favour is what I depend on .
This service is not possible in today's time if One can't see God in the poor .
God no matter what you call him is in the poor and only the poor .
More homes and more NGOs are required to fill the gap .
One thing I must appreciate and say :
” GOVERNMENT OF GOA , through various or practically all departments are very co operative & supportive to our NGO “.
Government funding is only for one home at the moment.
Since most of the homeless don't have any ID & valid documents , getting grants from the government is a pain .
Lots of paperwork and documentation required.
But we will do the best we can to keep accepting such people like RAKESH .
No one who comes to our NGO through the right procedure will be denied a place to stay , Food to eat , medication and rehabilitation.
Please support our NGO.
You get 50% rebate under section 80G of the
INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.
We accept only CHEQUES / NEFT with your pan card copy .

THE GAS CYLINDER BANK!

19.5.2022. 7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE TRUST plans to celebrate the 5th anniversary of our FOOD BANK , on 27th May,2022 , by launching a novel Bank ……….
THE GAS CYLINDER BANK!
Instead of a celebratory  function, the Food Bank decided instead to use this  money to gift a
GAS CYLINDER AND A TWO BURNER BASIC STOVE to 10 poor ethnic goan families who are still using  firewood to cook their meals and as they cannot afford a Gas Cylinder & stove or do not have the required documents
These10 families have been identified in the following Talukas:-
☆ Canacona – 2 families
☆ Marmagoa  – 2 families
☆ Salcete – 2 families
☆ Bicholim – 1 familiy
☆ Quepem – 1 family
☆ Sanguem – 1 family
☆ Dharbandora – 1 family .
These families are either suffering from disabilities, are  HIV + , widows and  lonely senior citizens
But why is our NGO helping them ?
A few weeks ago, OUR NGO obtained through the good offices of HPCL , a number of  domestic cylinders  at a very reasonable  price under  the ” EXEMPT CATEGORY” with alot of free accessories, without any deposit or any extra paper work strictly for the use of the FOOD BANK AND SHELTER HOMES.
Previously Commercial cooking gas cylinders were being used and this was very very expensive.
However, within 2 days of recieving these domestic cylinders, we noticed  that our FOOD BANK  was receiving huge quantities of freshly cooked food, resulting in all our SHELTER HOMES getting sufficient food without the need to cook and thus the consumption of cooking Gas  dropped .
Simultaneously, our volunteers in rural Goa, involved in the outreach programs of obtaining  Disability Certificates & FREE UDID cards, encountered many ethnic Goan families struggling with their cooking due to lack of Gas cylinders.
Also our other old time volunteers top reported that many such Ethnic goan families cant afford A Gas Cylinder and a stove.
On one hand  our NGO is blessed with Gas Cylinders, unused at the moment as  daily, fresh food sufficient for all our Shelter Home inmates is received
                           WHILE
ON the other hand many  poor goan families are  struggling to cook their meager meals.
It disturbed me and my team ……and thus was born the idea of a much needed “GAS CYLINDER BANK”.
We at STREET PROVIDENCE believe that it is “Only in giving and giving that we will receive our Blessings” .
Whilst these 10 poor  families cook their food daily, surely they will bless our NGO and those words of Blessings which come out of their mouths and hearts will bring an abundance of blessings on our NGO .
After our sojourn on earth, irrespective of all the wealth we have accumulated,  only BLESSINGS,  GOOD DEEDS and GOOD WISHES follow us to eternity.
We have plans to provide Gas Cylinders and stoves to another 90+ such Ethnic poor goan families .
But we need your help to make this possible.
Please support this Gas Cylinder Bank Project in any one of these ways:
1. Pay for the purchase of a new basic gas stove, regulator, pipe and one cylinder.
                            OR
2. Commit to refill a cylinder  for a fixed period of time in the taluka you stay .
(Our NGO will be requesting HPCL dealers to support these poor goan families in getting their refill once the payment is )
3.While you are enjoying  celebrations like birthdays, wedding anniversaries etc, bring  joy  to our ethnic goan ladies who are struggling to cook with fire wood, by donating a Gas Cylinder and a stove.
4. Forward to your family & friends and motivate them to help the less privileged so that they also will receive  blessings and good wishes from the recipient.
Kindly note that this project is solely for  the poorest of the poor ethnic Goans…..  widows,  POOR persons suffering from mental/ physical with disabilities, POOR  HIV + persons    POOR old and abandoned parents and senior citizens who don't possess any means of income, cannot afford a Gas Cylinder, have no income and live  in rural Goa .
Recommendations will not be accepted as 90+ families have already been identified by our volunteers in the course of their visits to such POOR homesteads during the course of the many outreach programs.
Grateful to all those who will reach out to our  impoverished brethren!
This Gas Cylinder Bank will not and can't accommodate requests for those working as maids , security guards , gardeners etc in your homes as they are having a source of income because they are working and having a job .
Please support our NGO.
You get 50% rebate under section 80G of the
INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.
We accept only CHEQUES / NEFT with your pan card copy .

IS HELPING FOR FREE, POOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN RURAL GOA TO ACQUIRE THEIR DISABILITY CERTIFCATE & THEN THEIR UDUD .

14.5.2022. 5pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA is helping for FREE, poor People with Disabilities in rural Goa to acquire their Disability Certifcate & then their UDUD .
Month of April 2022 was our 2nd month that we are providing this FREE service across Rural Goa through this project .
Attached below in the link is what we did in March 2022.
Attached in an excel sheet the villages we covered right in the interior of Goa .
Inspite of the many many unwanted hurdles and troubles we are providing this FREE service.
It's Hot & humid in Goa yet, 1 set of our field officers are doing a fantastic job by going door to door and filling up forms or rectifying the forms.
Then another set of back office staff are taking telephonic appointment for their assessment at various hospitals and uploading details on the portal.
Then another set of staff physically pick these PWDs up from their homes and transport them to the designated hospitals for their assessment FREE OF COST in our Jeep & Ambulance and
re drop them home.
After which our Field officers see that their DISABILITY CERTIFCATE once ready reaches their hands .
Last our back office team follows up on the UDID CARD being generated by uploading this disabilities certificate back in the portal.
Lots of co ordination and strong connectivity is how I can sum this up .
Superb support from all the Government officials particularly from the staff at the hospitals who go out of their way to give the assessment appointments.
Small example of how much effort goes into this project .⬇️
As reported by our team handling this project for April month there was a few Pwds appointment at District Hospital Mapusa.
But on the day of the appointments the respective machine was down and needed repairs and it would take a few days for repairs but different PWDs had their appointments lined up for their assessment.
These Pwds were from Bicholim taluka .
So on the day of the assessment,  Pwd was  brought to Mapusa , but machine down so taken back home by jeep.
Next day taken for the GMC for the assessment by jeep.
Third day taken again to GMC to pick the report and again dropped back to Bicholim.
Fourth day brought to Mapusa again from Bicholim with the report and then Disability Certifcate issued at Mapusa hospital
You can imagine if we were not providing these free services would the family member of these poor PWDs undertake these visits in the heat and with the current public transport ?
In the month of April 2022 , we covered talukas :
☆ Dharbandora
☆ Sanguem
☆ Bicholim
Our team in the month of April met 43 families ,
Our team  undertook 40 trips to various Hospitals,
Our team generated 18 Disability Certifcates
& 17 UDID CARDS
Our NGO is the only one who has undertaken this task with 300 such Pwds who were stuck up in the system for many months for many reasons , primarily being transportation to designated hospitals for the assessment.
But why did our NGO decide to undertake this complicated, tiresome and difficult project for people with disabilities ?
Since most of our shelter homes have PWDs and they too require these Disability Certifcate,  we thought why not provide this FREE service to our poor Goans in rural villages since we have acquired alot of such certificates & UDID Cards for the homeless with Disabilities in our homes and we know the system very well .
Attached a small video of the importance of a UDID card and a few testimony of those who we have provided free services.
For those two to three people who created false rumors on social media we are charging Rs 4000 to make a UDID card , please take note
” This is FREE SERVICE “.
I am not disabled but our entire team members understand the pain , trouble , problems that People with Disabilities go through daily, that's why 80% of our inmates in our FREE shelter homes are people with disabilities.
Those shouting for years and claiming on social media that they are working for PWDs should have atleast started one free shelter home for the homeless Pwds .
Disability issues are not only in Panjim city but it's spread all over Goa especially rural Goa which most of them shouting have never ever reached and never ever worked for the PWDs where their presence could have made a big big difference.
Our next post on this topic of RS 4000 being charged to make a UDID CARD  , will be explained in detail how much JEALOUSLY & ENVY some highly educated people have and how they tried their level best to stop this project.
If you are looking for a platform to work for the poor and those with Disabilities then u reached the right NGO.

TODAY INSTALL 3 FOOD BANK FRIDGES AT 3 POLICE STATIONS IN SOUTH GOA

13.5.2022. 7pm IST
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR SANGOLDA, GOA today install 3 food bank fridges at 3 police stations in South Goa , to accept extra cooked food.
We have installed food bank fridges at :
☆ Fatorda Police Station
☆ Margao Police Station
☆ Colva Police Station
All these 3 fridges are open 24×7 and are situated right at the entrance of the three Police Stations.
All one needs to do is :
pack the extra food in food grade plastic bags or silver foils and put the same in these fridges.
Please remember that the food should not be hot else the food will get spoilt .
We thank Mrs Philomena Pereira from Siolim  who donated two of the three fridges.
We are looking for the 3rd fridge to be sponsored.
♡♡♡ Thanks to all 3 Police Inspectors for allowing our fridges be installed in their Police stations.
♡ Our Fatorda fridge was inaugurated by
Mr Girendra Naik , Inspector of Fatorda .

♡♡ Our Margao fridge was inaugurated by
Mr Sachin Narvekar , Inspector of Margao.

♡♡♡ Our Colva fridge was inaugurated by Mrs Manisha Mardolkar , Psi of Colva ( as PI was on leave )
The only way to cut wet garbage in and around urban areas is to install fridges to collect extra cooked food which can then be used to feed the homeless and hungry both in our homes and in the local villages.
We plan to install another 5 such fridges across other big Police stations where we feel extra cooked food is being wasted and thrown out .
There 3 fridges installed today should give us appox 100 kgs to 150 kgs daily once we settle down.
With these 3 fridges installed we are now In 9 police stations in Goa with our food bank fridges to accept food.
We are now having fridges at these 9 police stations in Goa :.
☆ Mapusa
☆ Calangute
☆ Panjim
☆ Margao
☆ Fatorda
☆ Colva
☆ Cuncolim
☆ Quepem
☆ Sanguem.
Once again thanks to Goa Police for playing their part in supporting our initiative to eradicate hunger & homelessness in Goa by installing fridges in their Police stations to accept extra food to feed the hungry and homeless.
You too can your part by forwarding these messages to your relatives and friends so that everyone who has extra food can be aware that fridges are installed in Police stations.
Please support our NGO generously.
You get 50% rebate under section 80G of the
INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.
We accept only CHEQUES / NEFT with your pan card copy .

IS LOOKING FOR SUPPORT & HELP TO INSTALL MORE FRIDGES IN PUBLIC PLACES

10.5.2021. 8pm IST
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR,  SANGOLDA GOA is looking for support & help  to install more fridges in public places to collect good extra cooked food only in Goa.
With the prices of everything on the rise , more and more poor people are unable to get 2 ,meals a day .
The only little solution we can do is to install more fridges and so those who have extra food can drop it in these fridges which can them help to reach the poor and hungry instead of being thrown into the garbage.
We as an NGO are bridging that Gap with those who have extra food but don't know where and how to give it away with those poor hungry homeless people who might be just more than happy to enjoy this extra good food .
This week we intend to Install 4 new fridges in
☆ Margao city
☆ Colva
☆ Fatorda
☆ Verna
Location will be shared once fridges are installed.
These fridges will be open 24 *7 to deposit your extra food.
But we need donations to buy and set up these fridges.
The only brand we use is ELANPRO which is tried and tested and used by our FOOD BANK last 5 years .
Each fridge costs Rs 21000.
Attached a picture of the fridge.
These are hard top 200l ltrs fridges with good quality service and durable for all weather as they are placed in public places accessible to heat & dust .
Besides collecting good extra food in these fridges we are also avoiding this good food from going into the wet garbage.
Last 5 years , we have collected tonnes & tonnes of good food through our FOOD BANK FRIDGES & saved Tonnes of wet garbage in our little small way.
So our NGO is doing two jobs at one time.
Collecting extra good food for the poor &
Reducing the wet garbage problem .
If you wish to help us with the cost of this new fridge from ELANPRO , then pls let me know .
You can donate In memory of your loved ones or just as a thanks giving .
I always tell many ” whenever you give to the poor & hungry , the blessings come to the benefactor / donor and not to the NGO “.
Our NGO is only the link between YOU as the benefactor & the poor and hungry.
A day might come where each village can and will install a food fridge to collect extra food and feed the poor otherwise it will lead to dust bins which will increase the wet garbage .
For those who follow our work , in the month of April 2022 , we collected more than 7000 kgs of good extra food ( 7 tonnes ) which otherwise would have added to Goa's wet garbage .

♡♡♡ Also thanks to Navtara Owners Mr Carlos & his son Aditya for all the support and their staff at all their 7 outlets who worked tireless with limited time to get these meals ready inspite of their regular business.
♡♡♡ Thanks to the following Eminent persons who graced this program inspite of the heat , the humidity and it being a holiday and handed over the food pkts to our volunteers .
Following were present at :
☆ Mapusa : Ret SP @ Goa Police , Mr Serafin Dias

All though planning happened well in advance,  there were some hiccups.
Two places volunteers came late due to traffic,
One places Chief Guest came late .
One place volunteers took food pkts before time .
One place food pkts were not ready .
But at the end all food pkts reached the correct destination as planned.
Not an easy task either for me or for the entire operation to run as planned as the heat was really bad .
♡♡♡ BIG BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS who distributed these pkts of food with their respective teams in the shortest possible time with heat being unbearable and high humidity .
More than 30 Volunteers  plus their teams serving 4400 meals within 2 hours across 9 talukas from 7 navtara outlets is not a small task.
Attached small 2 videos. 👇
The purpose of this program was to motivate  our volunteers and keep them ready as very soon we are attempting to feed a few thousands of people fresh cooked food DAILY , which is extra and daily being thrown out daily across Goa from different sectors.
Thats in short what I can say at the moment .
Once again thank you all for blessings Our Food Bank for the last 5 years.

ACCEPTS THIS HOMELESS GOAN LADY INTO OUR SHELTER HOME, WHO HAS BEEN SLEEPING AND STAYING RIGHT ON THE STREETS OF MAIN OLD GOA AREA

29.4.2022. 5 Pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA accepts this homeless goan lady into our shelter home, who has been sleeping and staying right on the streets of MAIN OLD GOA area for over 9 months, all because of this Goan gentlemen Adv Mr Xavier .
Read on .
Never in the last 5 years of our rehabilitation service for the homeless have I been taught to be MORE considerate to the homeless street women.
My problem is homeless women are not easy to look after and we don't have more compassionate women care givers to look after the ever increasing homeless women in Goa .
Today I learnt something which I will remember.
This lady who has been living right outside his restaurant at OLD GOA for months is from SHIRODA , Ponda.
Many many people informed me but it always has been ” let the police call me “.
Few days back this lady was picked by the local politican and dropped to her elderly relative home in calangute.
This lady today reached the Calangute police station saying she wants to go back to old goa as the restaurant owner Adv Xavier had been feeding her .
Adv Xavier, was requested to reach Calangute police staton, who in turn called me.
I initially refused to help as I am sure it's a case of Mental disabilities.
But Adv Xavier did not give up .
Adv Xavier inspite of being not connected to this homeless goan lady came from :
☆ 1. old goa to calangute police station, because the lady had a card of his restaurant with her, and he was requested to come .

☆ 2. Convinced the police to take this lady to IPHB bambolim for a check up,

☆ 3. took the police and the lady in his car for a check up @ IPHB,

☆ 4. Got me convinced without force that she requires rehab, as Dr at IPHB concluded she is mentally fit to be admitted in a shelter home and I have my doubts ,

☆ 5. Brought her back to calangute police station and personally came along to admitt her into the home.
The lady has a brother,  but few months back  the brother who works in Gujarat had come to help her get off the streets, but she refused to be helped.
No one can blame him as he tried and he is still trying and willing to help her I am told .
We accepted her into our home finally .
Adv Xavier says ” he has been knocking on many doors and requesting many in and around OLD GOA to help this homeless street goan lady ”
But it was God's plan many months back when atleast more than 10 people called me in the last 9 months asking to get this lady of that area.
I want and I wish to help more ladies on the streets who are homeless and with disabilities but I don't have Woman Care Givers full time .
I have or I can arrange everything else but Women Care Givers is the need of the hour for me.
Our two shelter homes for homeless woman are overloaded with close to 32 such woman being rehabilitated.
Planning to start 2 more such homes for homeless woman very soon.
Attached a picture of Adv Xavier .
I don't know how long this lady will stay with us in our shelter home but 100% she requires treatment and admission at IPHB as she has been long time now living on the streets alone.
It's going to take a long time to get her confidence back and mentally get her into well being.
Life on the dark lonely wet streets is not a joke .
How I know ?
Most of our women inmates at times tell us how they are tortured and treated as they are homeless and weak .
If only I can get good , compassionate, caring & concerned, full time  lady care givers , my big problem will be solved.
Any one listening ?
Please support and help such homeless street women wherever you see them .
I apologize to all those people who called me , argued with me and got upset with me for not helping this lady before .
But I have my limitations regarding homeless street women.
Please support our NGO generously.
You get 50% rebate under section 80G of the
INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.
We accept only CHEQUES / NEFT with your pan card copy .

FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR SANGOLDA GOA IS ATTEMPTING TO FEED 5000 VEG MEALS ON 1.5.2022

28.4.2022. 7pm IST
FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR SANGOLDA GOA is attempting to feed 5000 VEG meals on 1.5.2022, which is LABOUR DAY & a Sunday within 2 hours flat.
It's all happening between 11.30 am to 1.30 pm .
♡♡♡ Thanks to our Volunteers and their teams across 9 Talukas who will be out there during lunch time in the heat to feed these meals.
♡♡♡ Food bank is thankful to NAVTARA group of Restaurants for the support of providing these 5000 meals from 7 of their outlets inspite of their restaurants being opened on that day for regular business.
50% of these prepackaged meals are being served to our own local Goans at their doorsteps who might be engaged in some sort of labour work.
10% is on the streets of Goa as we don't want any garbage issues cropping up once these meals are served in the cities.
20% are going to slums and colonies where actual labourers reside.
Rest 20% are going to PWDs , shelter homes, HIV families , etc .
Its not an easy task for any of us .
Planning , co ordination , distribution and transportation is mind blowing and all within 2 hours flat .
We have not been able to cover the talukas
Ponda , Pernem & Sattari as we did not get Volunteers.
4 eminent Goan personalities & 1 buearecrat will be handing over at 5 outlets of Navtara these prepacked Veg meals to our volunteers , all at 11.30am.
It's a testing time for our Food Bank , as very soon we are attempting to daily feed fresh extra food for a start to 5000 people through a
FSSAI / FDA project which is helping to save good food from thrown out daily.
Fresh Food wastage if tackled through our Food Bank across Goa and Supported by the Government of Goa , can easily save for a start 5000 kgs of good extra cooked food from going into the wet garbage daily .
We have requested the Chief Minister Of Goa , who has understood and I an sure to get this request implemented through 2 Government agencies.
Nothing wrong in collecting huge quantities of daily extra good food to feed the poor especially in villages where many such goan families will benefit.
Let's save and reduce wet garbage.
If you would like to help us with a few prepackaged meals do let me know .
You can buy the coupons at any Navtara outlets or donate to our NGO .
ALSO THANKS TO ALL THE BENEFACTORS WHO HAVE BEEN REGULARLY BUYING THE COUPONS FROM NAVTARA in the last 4 years .

ADMITS INTO OUR SHELTER HOME ANOTHER HOMELESS MAN WITH WOUNDS ON HIS LEG .

27.4.2022. 5pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA admits into our shelter home another homeless man with wounds on his leg .
Raju Das , stayed with us 4 times in 4 ,years .
Gets better , same story , back on the streets with that same leg wound getting infected.
This time he was brought by Mr Arjun from Living Waters , an NGO from Calangute, after doing all his paperwork and medical reports.
Arjun was sleeping and living on the streets in this heat some where in Calangute .
One of the rare instances where our NGO has failed in getting this man out of his depression or whatever he is suffering from .
Very difficult to help a Chronic case of his nature.
This time , we will be forced to keep him in for a very long time to completely cure his leg .
No matter where such men live in Goa , all of them ultimately end up coming back to our shelter home as no other shelter homes are taking in such men .
Frustrating and disappointing that our team gave him the best facility especially regarding medical services and then he wished to leave the home as he felt better and did not stay back with us
But in a few months,  he is back on the streets in a pathetic situation.
Can't say no also as he will die out there in the heat as he just can't walk and stand properly.
To kill that pain , he is forced to drink .
Daily cleaning, dressing and daily bandaging is the only solution to his problem.
Sometimes it's just to impossible trying to help such rare instances of men with Raju Das who just don't want to listen.
This full month of May 22 , our NGO intends to get off the streets as many men as possible as the heat is rising and the monsoon will be equally bad.
It's a tough service taking care of the homeless with all sort of disabilities and requires alot of running up and down to hospitals.
The heat is adding to the frustration.
Practically everyday last one week we toke in one person a day .
This week and next week close to 12 men are being taken in , 1 a day.
Please support our NGO.
You get 50% rebate under section 80G of the
INCOME TAX act, once you donate to our NGO.
We accept only CHEQUES / NEFT with your pan card copy .
