STREET PROVIDENCE GOA had sent a team last week to Manipur to scale up the relief and support to those affected by the Violence.
The team was headed by :
♡ Mr Bosco George IPS ( retd )
And the team included :
♡ Adv Caroline Collasso ( our Trustee )
♡ Mr Arturo Dsouza ( environmentalist )
♡ Fr Clifford Castelino ( Parish Priest of Corgao )
♡ Mr Joseph Fernandes ( well wisher / friend )

Well the visit by the team with the feedback has got me moving and understanding now how to go ahead.
For over a month we were providing relief only to 2 districts ie Imphal & Kangpokpi.
But now we have managed to send relief to
Churachandpur & Chandel districts all because of the visit of this team to ground zero.
Infact tomorrow we pay the supplier in Imphal for 17 tonnes of dry ration and this is our 4th consignment in the last 1 month for the relief camps.
Logistics is the biggest hurdle and any help going anywhere in Manipur one needs to plan
15 days in advance.
This 4th consignment consists of :
》Rice 300 bags = 15000 kgs &
》G.Peas , potato , cooking oil , salt, etc = 2000 kgs
Still its not clear even after the payment is made when the truck will leave and which date it will reach this particular area .
That's the main issue LOGISTICS.
Coming days we are sending our 3rd consignment of medicines from Delhi to CHURACHANDPUR as that's the most complicated area and the most difficult area at the moment.
Aid to this district is only possible through MIZORAM which is 350 kms from this district where as Imphal to Churachandpur is just
60 kms .
But it was a desire to get help to this district and we finally got a head start.
Soon our focus will be now on :
☆ 1. Paying for 300 poor children education fees and very soon we will put out the details
☆ 2. Attempting to build small homes for the poorest of the poor ( low budget)
☆ 3. Setting up shelter homes for the poor homeless people
☆ 4. Setting-up free homes for abandoned poor people with disabilities.
These are difficult projects but WE DARE TO DREAM.
