STREET PROVIDENCE blessed & innaugrated our 15th Shelter home in INDIA on 13.6.25 at Kankavali, Sindhudurg District, Maharashtra, which also the Feast day of St Anthony.
There is also a legal cell SAMET run by Fr Manuel Dsilva in this premises.
( This is the 2nd home in Maharashtra ).
This home is Named as ” Bishop Allwyn Barreto Shelter Home” & its only for men with disabilities.
And the home was blessed by Bishop Allwyn Barreto himself at a simple function held.
This home is OLD Bishop house which was not used for a long time as there is a new Bishop House at OROS.
Seldom will any Bishop give a house to be used for the poorest of the poor.
But Smiling Bishop Allwyn Barreto as he is known has a heart for the poor and needy.
Present for this function was :
♡ Bishop Allwyn Barreto,
♡ Administrator of Sindhudurg Diocese Fr Andrew D'Mello;
♡ Fr Manuel Dsilva, Director of SAMET, Legal Services clinic,
♡ Fr Millet, Parish priest of Sawantwadi,
♡ Sir Bosco George, retd DIG , ( IPS )
♡ Mr Ramesh Ghadi , Writer & Poet,
♡ Mr Sapnesh Salgaonkar, our operation manager,
♡ Mr Arturo Dsouza, our Maintenance manager,
♡ Priests and nuns and staff of Street Providence.
Since the building was unused for a long time may be a few years , there was a lot of repairs & Maintenance to be done.
And if you see the link,  all the work has been done by our Resident men from our shelter homes under the supervision of Arturo Dsouza.
For one full month everyday day manpower was moved from Goa to Kankavli to get this place up and running.
Arturo himself with the men residents completed all the electrical & plumbing works.
Entire Painting of the building was completed by one resident Mr Khan who used to be homeless for years but a painter by profession.
Our 500 ltrs solar was installed by Bunty Bhaskar from Muddavaddo Saligao.
A big metal shade over 1 part of the home was fabricated by my our regular and reliable fabricator Mr Anand ( babu ) from Sangolda, op lighting club.
This home has CCTV of 16 cameras which was completed by Digital Doctors Porvorim, Mr Siddesh.
Overall we cut our costs by 50% by employing our own shelter home men on most of the manual jobs.
This home can hold 50 men at any point of time but 40 men will be the ideal capacity.
We also have a 12 bedded home for ladies in Sawantwadi which was blessed on 28th Sept 24 by Bishop Allwyn Barreto.
Lots of poor Maharashtrian men on the streets of Goa and we in Goa don't take in any non goans due to genuine issues which we face in our homes in Goa.
This mens home will serve as a transit home to send back to their villages if any Maharashtrian found living on the streets of Goa.
This decision is a call to be taken by Hon CM of Goa and the administration.
We have created a facility looking long term but its up to the GOA state to send these non goans living on the streets back to their respective states.
This mens home at Kankavali can also serve the 125 bed mental hospital in Rstnagiri as there is no mens half way home in Ratnagiri for men suffering from mental disabilities who require care once discharged from the mental hospital.
This mens home is fully equipped with :
☆ 3 kv inverter
☆ Cctv
☆ Cable TV
☆ Fridge
☆ Bunker Beds
☆ Full fledged kitchen.
One thought always crops up in minds when such facilities are started. Guess which one ?
Well at Street Providence we take care & rehabilitate people of all religions irrespective of caste & creed.
We must be the only NGO across India having residents of all faiths be it Muslims , Hindus , Catholics, Tribals, etc.
70% of our staff are Hindus,
20% are Catholics and
10 % are tribals and
no religious activities are conducted in any of our homes at all.
We have staff from Goa , Maharashtra, Jharkhand & Manipur on our roll.
The entire operation in Goa & Maharashtra is managed by Mr Sapnesh Salgaonkar & very soon, Maharashtra operations will be handled by Digamber Ghadi fully as he speaks Marathi fluently.
We celebrate all festivals of all religions with special meals on that day but no prayers , religious heads or any religious activities are permitted in our Homes.
Simultaneously we have installed in all our Homes 200+ CCTV cameras which run 24*7 in our control room as well as on the mobile of
Mr Sapnesh & myself.
Close to Rs 30 lacs has been invested on CCTVs in the last 3 years.
For me its about service to the poorest of the poor especially those with mental disabilities and abandoned on the streets of Goa.
We thank all who have supported our work in the last 8 years and counting.

A HOMELESS DANISH NATIONAL TAKEN INTO OUR HOME 2 NIGHTS BACK

12.6.25. 5pm IST
A homeless Danish National taken into our home 2 nights back ,  after the authority meant to solve such issues theoretically threw him on the roads for one night.
It could have been more nights on the streets of Goa or even turned murdered or dead on the streets if not for a genuine Goan Taxi driver.
Well Mr FLEMING is our guest in India and it pains me that whatever may be the reason he is in a mess ” the law makers actually knowing he is homeless did nothing but made him sleep one
night on the road “.
Hon CM of Goa & Tourism Minister, you both need to take note of such stupid and careless attitude shown by the same authorities who are supposed to help foreign nationals especially when one is totally broke and may be disoriented.
FLEMING has a valid passport , visa and Form C, but lost in his mind and body.
A goan taxi driver was helping him but the law enforcement agency abused and threatened to arrest the taxi driver for no fault of his.
Seeing this threats , this goan taxi driver contacted another taxi driver who knows our work.
Immediately i got a call and I agreed to help.
I called up the senior most law enforcement agency of that station who is two levels above the officer who threatened this taxi driver.
Immediately things moved and this same officer called me saying ” can u help this Danish man “.
I agreed.
But because I called up the senior most law enforcement officer and this junior got a barging of words from the top, the junior again abused and threatened the taxi driver for contacting me.
This is horrible state of affairs of the law enforcement department in Goa headed by The Hon CM of Goa.
We are so used to murders and deaths in Goa that no one i mean no cares a damn if anyone is on the streets of goa even if its a FOREIGNER.
Then when bad things happen, foot falls take a hit , all excuses pop up , but who cares.
We are time and time again asking GOA POLICE to provide a dedicated official NORTH & SOUTH to respond to such calls of poor people living and dying on the streets .
Hon Chief Minister of Goa , kindly take this social media post seriously.
I am not inwarding any letter to your office about this incident neither am i giving any names as usually nothing happens fast.
There is no sensitization happening for your new recruited law enforcement officers and as such they don't know about the shelter homes available in Goa.
Put a system in place to avoid such incidents which will bring a bad name to the state and to your department.
Find out who , what , where, why this happened.
Take the officer to task.
It's too much pain to hear and see that a regular visitor to our state for so many years as per his passport was theoretically made to sleep for a night on the streets when a simple phone call to us could have helped him get a shelter that night.
Its freaking raining last 7 days , and in that area daily there are huge no of drug addicts, drug peddlers, goondas, thieves etc who could have just ripped this Danish tourist up with an intention to rob him as he is a foreigner.
As of now FLEMING is recuperating from his ordeal of being lost and lonely in India.
If anyone knows genuine authorities in the DENMARK EMBASSY / CONSULATE please get in touch with me through whatsapp messages only on 8380097564.
Whatever is our fight with the departments in Goa regarding our grants, our doors are open 24*7 for homeless ladies and gents, goans or non goans , Indians or foreigners but through Goa Police only.  No direct admission.

WELL @ STREET PROVIDENCE ON 5th JUNE , WE DID NOTHING, BUT FOR THE REST OF THE 364 DAYS WE COLLECTED A HUGE QUANTITY OF GOOD COOKED FOOD WHICH WOULD HAVE REACHED THE GARBAGE BINS

6.6.2025. 9pm IST
On World Environment day , most plant a tree or a sapling on 5th of June 2025.
Rest of the 364 days how do we contribute towards the Environment?
Well @ Street Providence on 5th June , we did nothing, but for the rest of the 364 days we collected a huge quantity of good Cooked food which would have reached the garbage bins and reduced the plastic which would have gone with this cooked food into the garbage.
Last 364 days ie 1.4.24 to 31.3.25 our food bank saved the Environment by :
1. collecting 100000 kgs of cooked good food,
2. reducing 10000 kgs of plastic,  as this good food would have reached the bins in plastic bags,
3. Fed the poorest of the poor about 2 lac meals.
This 100000 kgs of food & 10000 kgs of plastic was surely going to the bins and this was a pilot project run with the support of Factories and Boilers, Department, Government of Goa along with 13 Factories.
[ Note when disposing of 10 kgs wet waste one requires 1 kg single use plastic.]
These 13 factories are in these placrs :
◇ 9 Factories @ Verna industrial Estate ,
◇ 2 Factories @ Corlim industrial Estate,
◇ 1 factory @ Kundanim industrial Estate

1 factory @ San Jose De areal industrial Estate.

Goa is having the highest per capita plastic waste issue in india and only lip service is shown time & time again by the authorities here in Goa.
And to top it all , all law makers planted a sapling which looked to me as a formality on 5th June 25
If we are to seriously save our Environment then its a 365 day commitment.
Street Providence Goa has a concrete and ready plan to reduce wet waste and single use plastic to the extent of :
》Daily.           5000 kgs food &     500 kgs plastic
》Monthly. 150000 kgs food & 15000 kgs plastic
》Yearly.   1800000 kgs food & 180000 kg plastic.
If more government departments like Factories & Boilers feel they could play their part in reducing wet waste and plastic from reaching the garbage bins then alot of our environment can be saved and 5th June can be really be celebrated as WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY.
The potential departments who could play their part for 364 days to save the environment are :
☆ Food & drugs Department ,
☆ Labour Department ,
☆ Panchayat Department ,
☆ Environment Department ,
☆ Industries Department.
We have proved our effort in reducing wet waste and plastic through this pilot project.
Rest is the call Hon CM of Goa has to take.
Let's work togther [  irrespective of the authorities support, as they are mostly unable to take unorthodox decisions ] in saving our ENVIRONMENT, 364 days of the year and not only on 5th June.

ABANDONED MIRAMAR MAN FINDS SHELTER AT STREET PROVIDENCE AFTER MONTHS IN HOSPITAL.

Abandoned Miramar man finds shelter at Street Providence after months in Hospital.
After nearly six long and lonely months in government hospitals, with no family to call his own and no place to return to, Peter Rodrigues — once a proud resident of Miramar — has finally found refuge at Street Providence, a home that opens its doors to the forgotten and abandoned.
Peter’s story is one of both heartbreak and quiet strength.
His life changed forever after a tragic fall left him with a broken leg and severe spinal injuries. “I had a bad fall,”
Peter says. “Since then, I’ve been in a wheelchair. I couldn’t walk… I couldn’t even move on my own.”
For two months, he was under the care of Goa Medical College (GMC), where doctors operated on his back and did their best to treat his injuries.
But while his body was healing, his soul remained burdened by another wound — abandonment.
With no family coming forward, no one asking for him, Peter became just another name lost in the system.
Day after day, he remained alone, his world reduced to the sterile walls of hospital wards and the occasional footsteps of nurses passing by.

HOW ONE GOAN IAS OFFICER WENT OUT OF WAY TO HELP US 3 YEARS BACK AND TODAY A MIRACLE HAPPENED BY THE GRACE OF GOD

3.6.2025. 8pm IST
How one goan IAS OFFICER went out of way to help us 3 years back and today a miracle happened by the Grace of God that the problem which this IAS officer was facing for years within the family has been eradicated / resolved.
Well exactly 3 years back I had approached a Goan IAS OFFICER, who is still in service to help our homes with regards to a particular request.
This IAS OFFICER could have said ” i will look into the request and I will get back to you “.
But this Goan IAS OFFICER did the opposite, which most government officials should learn from.
This Goan IAS OFFICER picked up the phone explained our request to the person on the other side , took our application and said ” REQUEST APPROVED , JOB DONE “.
Please wait for 15 days,  was the request.
Believe me within 15 days our request was granted.
Last 3 years because of this Goan IAS OFFICER our monetary benefit in KIND is worth
Rs 10000 per month × 36 months = Rs 360000 for a particular product which all our residents benefit and need daily.
In addition last 3 years from the same person who was on the other side of that phone call our shelter homes got cheques worth Rs 10 lacs as donations.
No commission, no under the table , no return favors asked.
And even today the benefits are coming.
But at the time when I had approached this Goan IAS OFFICER, I did not know, nor was aware that this Goan IAS OFFICER was having serious health issues within the family and these health issues was a source of worry to this Goan IAS OFFICER.
One day I was briefed and I put a team together  to address these health issues the family was going through, which went on for about 6 months & then we stopped visiting these family members and the Goan IAS OFFICER did not take offence.
But just 2 days back at the time of me writing this post i was briefed by a certain company @ Verna industrial Estate, inquiring whether I knew so and so person.
It then struck me that this person was a family member of this Goan IAS OFFICER and it' was a miracle that the family member is employed at a MNC company,  was once suffering from a sickness which is difficult to come out off.
I concluded : this Goan IAS OFFICER solved my problem 3 years back without knowing me & the silent prayers and blessings of so many homeless people in our homes moved the SPIRIT OF GOD , that GOD had no alternative but to open the flood gates of Heaven and release that power on this family member of this Goan IAS OFFICER.
No matter what I am or what any one thinks & concludes about me and my attitude – it's the poorest of the poor who are important at Street Providence and when you help, you are helping poor goans with serious mental disabilities at our Shelter homes not Donald Fernandes.
Usually some IAS / IPS / GPSC officers once in that hot seat forget the poor and needy requests and will tell you all rules and regulations till you show some interest in addressing their personal concerns and that in turns brings curses and destruction in these officers lives which at that point of time, no one understands.
To those in power – never use that seat you sit on to make the lives of the poor especially ladies with mental disabilities, children in orphanages and homeless a misery.
You never know what will happen to your own children or family members when you retire and are not in power.
Power is not permanent.
Blessings are permanent.
Think wisely as God has blessed each one to be a blessings to the less fortunate.
Don't mess with the poor and downtrodden.
Please don't ask me who is this officer.
But send this message to people who work in high positions who you think might change their approach towards society.

STREET PROVIDENCE GOA BUILDS AND HANDS OVER OUR 5th HOME TO AN INTERNALLY DISPLACED FAMILY IN MANIPUR LAST WEEK

21.5.2025. 7pm IST
STREET PROVIDENCE GOA builds and hands over our 5th home to an internally displaced family in Manipur last week.
This Home was donated by WINI family from Altinho Panjim, where by the senior citizens from this family, have been our benefactors for many years and counting.
Work on the 6th home is underway funded by A goan gentleman Mr Eric & family.
Two days back we had uploaded about our 4th home which was built & handed over.
▪︎Targeted.      : 10 homes in Manipur.
▪︎Completed.  :  05 homes in Manipur
▪︎In progress.  : 01 home in Manipur
▪︎To Complete : 04 home in Manipur
Life is difficult and not easy for those who are displaced.
All of the 5 families where we have built homrs have entered with just basic second hand house hold items & furniture.
It's really amazing that last 2 years we have been continously working across Manipur and people of Goa have been supporting our work thru their donations.
We work on the ground across so many states with the poorest of the poor.
At times we are trolled and wrong info is given out by a few disheartened souls who are totally lost and lonely in their lives.
They just cant see that our very small NGO is growing across so many areas where the poor and homeless are benefited.
Let's prayer for these people who spread wrong news , info , gossip about me and our work.
But they will preach about Jesus , the Bible, etc but in their lives you won't see any fruits but only hurts and disappointments with unforgiveness.
Let's use our energy for positive growth because once you start going negative, you or that person using negative energy will acquire mental disabilities and then these few disheartened souls will end up on psychiatric medication.
Our commitment to work in many states across many fields stems from our transparency where we upload on social media the work we wish to undertake, the cost required to get the work done & once the job is done we again upload on social media the final result.
When we are troubled by anyone we upload on social media.
When our troubles are addressed and solved we thank the authority and upload on social media.
We work differently and that is what gets our projects moving.
For us as an SMALL NGO it's the benefactors/ donnors who are the back bone till date.
Goa being a small state everyone knows everyone and goan benefactors are very quick to acknowledge, the genuine & committed NGOs and that's why we are able to do what we are doing.
If you reading this post can donate a home for the displaced families in Manipur then please let me know.

STREET PROVIDENCET BUILDS AND HANDS OVER OUR 4TH HOME IN MANIPUR.

19.5.2025. 7pm. IST
Street Providence builds and hands over our 4th home in Manipur.
( infact the 5th home is also built & handed over)
( 6th home construction is going on )
This 4th home was donated by one goan senior citizen man from Moira but based abroad who has been supporting our work over the last 7 years practically in all our projects.
A last couple of weeks work has slowed down due to trouble and unrest as things are not going smoothly but never the less we have built our 4th home.
The man in the video is speaking in his dialect and is an elderly family who has now a roof over their head and place to call their home.
Life is getting difficult as it's now about 2 years that the trouble started.
When we gave an assurance last year that we will arrange to build 10 homes in Manipur, it looked difficult.
If anyone crosses CHOGM road you will see a red board on the wall ” help us build homes in Manipur “.
It's there for over 6 months but that board has brought BLESSINGS / JOY & HAPPINESS to so many families.
Well ” BJ ” taught me to always speak the FUTURE & create and visualize what you want your dream to be.
Well here we are 6 Homes and counting.
I spoke the Word , blessed the project and sent it out spiritually through my social media posts.
6 goan families got touched and felt motivated to donate a home towards a displaced family in Manipur.
Infact one family donated funds & we even built a small chapel in this area for these 100  families to pray and be in the presence of God.
God has his plans & we just need to do the little we can to make those plans come to pass.
I am still in need of 4 more homes to be built to complete my commitment of 10 homes in Manipur for 10 poor displaced families.
Each home is Rs 5 lacs and construction material prices are rising last few months.

HELP US FURNISH OUR 2ND HOME FOR THE HOMELESS MEN & men WITH DISABILITIES IN KANKAVALI,  MAHARASHTRA WITH A BED CAPACITY OF 50 BEDS

18.5.2025. 11am IST
Help us furnish our 2nd home for the homeless men & men with disabilities in Kankavali,  Maharashtra with a bed capacity of 50 beds.
This home is in OLD BISHOP house @ Kankavali, which once upon a time was used by Bishop Allwyn Barreto and now it's being used to serve the poorest of the poor.
It's a bit old and needs repairs and upgrading to make it comfortable for the poor.
Bishop Allwyn Barreto understands that there is need in Sindhudurg Diocese for care & rehabilitation for men and ladies with disabilities.
Street Providence has one home started in Sawantwadi for ladies with disabilities way back in Sept 2024 with a bed capacity of 12 beds which Bishop Allwyn had blessed.
Well why are we setting up homes in Maharashtra ?  This question most will ask.
Well in Goa, our shelter homes is for Goans only.
In Maharashtra its for Maharashtrains only.
Across Goa we all see hundreds of beggars & vagabonds sleeping on roads, payments etc.
In our 11 shelter homes in Goa we don't accept any non goans,  as goans with disabilites or the genuine homeless goans are only cared for in Goa.
Culture, food habits, language, etc plays a big role where rehabilitation is concerned for the homeless and those with disabilities.
But to avoid being insensitive to genuine homeless in Goa , we are setting up homes In Karnataka & Maharashtra and it's an option or a solution if the Government of Goa would like to take benefit off by repatriation of homeless in Goa back to their respective states where we are having shelter homes.
Also by end 2025 / mid 2026 , IPHB bambolim will be increasing their capacity from 190 to 400.
The nearest mental hospital is in Ratnagiri which had an original capacity of 375 beds but currently only 125 beds are being used.
Due to Goa boasting of one the best health facilities in India , poor people from neighboring states are always taking treatment in Goa and many a times once treated just loiter around in Goa on the streets.
Mental disabilities is increasing across rural India also and forget rehabilitation homes, even psychiatric wards or mental hospitals are not available across rural India.
Once IPHB bambolim goes fully operational with 400 beds,  the demand for care & rehabilitation will be minimum 1000 beds, once treated at IPHB.
People from Districts surrounding Goa will be turning up in huge nos and that will be a problem for us local Goans.
Today we rehabilitate in Goa, 150+ highly chronic poor psychiatric goans who would have been on the streets if we did not have homes in Goa.
Demand in Goa is too much to manage & that's why you will see we are always agitating for funds from the Government.
Today In Goa :
IPHB has a bed capacity of 190.
Street Providence Goa has 150 psychiatric patients , with a total bed capacity of 250.
While IPHB is increasing its bed capacity to 400
We are keen to increase our bed capacity to 500 In Goa.
We require at our home at Kankavali these items:
1. Solar 500 ltrs
2. Inverter 3kv and double Battery
3.Television
4. CCTV
5. Bunker Beds 25 nos with rexin mattres 50 nos
6. Single Bedsheets 100 nos
7. Blanket 50 nos
8. Air Condition 2 nos
9. Ceiling Fans 10 nos
10. Led Tube light 15 nos
11. Comercial gas stove
12. All kitchen equipment
13. Dinning Tables plastics 8 nos
14. Chairs 40 nos plastic
15. Pillows 50 nos rexin
16. wheelchair 4 nos
17. water purifier
18. Cupboards
19. Buckets, Mugs.
You can also visit this home as currently painting, plumbing , electrical, tile cleaning, fabrication etc works are going on which we have to spend to make this place livable.
Innaugration planned 13th June 2025.

BISHOP ALLWYN Barreto, SINDHUDURG DIOCESE DEDICATED OUR MEN’S HOME AT GUIRIM IN MEMORY OF LATE POPE FRANCIS

12.5.2025. 7pm. IST
Bishop Allwyn Barreto, Sindhudurg Diocese dedicated our men's home at Guirim in Memory of Late Pope Francis.
Late Pope Francis had a view about Homes to be set up across every Diocese for the rehabilitation of people with disabilites & the homeless.
Well this morning we dedicated our men's home in memory of Late Pope Francis at the hands of Bishop Allwyn Barreto.
This building, ground plus one is divided into 2 parts.
Ground floor is for men & 1st floor is for ladies.
Most of the residents in this builings are Goans , homeless are 80% but 100% are suffering from mental & physical disabilities.
The 1st floor we will name very soon after a very close mentor/ guide of mine ( A Cardinal ) who supported our NGO when we started in 2017.
Bishop Allwyn Barreto is also known as the smiling Bishop and Bishop Allwyn has given us his old Bishop house at Kankavali to be run as a shelter home for men with disabilities.
That home will be innaugrated by 1st June 2025, and it will be named after Bishop Allwyn Barreto.
Bishop Allwyn Barreto in September 2024 granted us permission to open our 1st ladies home in Sawantwadi and he also Blessed and innaugrated our home for ladies.
Always approachable and always ready to help.
All our Homes are rented and 80% of our homes are in convents or given by the local Bishop except in Goa.
Manipur- 2 homes given by Archbishop.
☆ Jharkhand – 1 home given by Bishop for men.
☆ Maharashtra – 1 home given by Bishop for men.

In Goa we have 11 homes of which –
☆ FMCK sisters has given 4 Homes
☆ Fatima sisters has given 2 Homes
☆ In Maharashtra Fatima Sisters given 1 home for ladies.
Most assume I am some believer or protestant but on the contrary I am a Roman catholic & we work closely with the church in 4 states.
By 2026 , we will be across atleast 20 states, setting up homes &  working along with the Roman Catholic church as we will be taking homes from the local Bishops.
It's a dream that in GOA, the  Archbishop & the Diocese give us a huge infrastructure to house 50 – 200 residents. ( we don't want any land to build ).
The Era of Pope Francis has ended but his spirit lives on and we are inspired that we have been doing his dream of setting up homes for poor homeless and those with disabilities.
Once again , we thank Bishop Allwyn Barreto for taking time out today and dedicating this home in memory of Late Pope Francis.

OLD AGED HOMES ARE STARTING TO SHUT DOWN AND IN THE NEXT 2-3 YEARS THE GRAPH WILL START COMING DOWN QUICKLY.

9.5.2025. 4pm IST
Time to get up & smell the coffee.
Old aged homes are starting to shut down and in the next 2-3 years the graph will start coming down quickly. Those running old aged homes are not starting more homes or adding more beds to their existing beds.
Shelter homes are practically struggling to survive.
Government mid way homes are not existing.
Care givers and Labour is practically not available as no one wants to enter this field.
That's why the cost of care givers is hitting the roof.
Homeless people are increasing.
Fertility rate is dipping at an alarming rate across India.
Mental disabilities along with other disabilities is on the rise in Goa & across India.
UN has declared disabilities across the world @ 15% of the population and it's rising.
These are my little studies which can be accepted or just ignored.
Persons with Disabilities ( PWDs) in INDIA
》2011 – We had approx 22.6 million ( last census)
》2025 – the figures can be as high as 225 million
( based on what UN has declared 15% of.                population )
》2030 – could touch 350 to 450 million.
India last census was in 2011 when only a few disabilities were covered.
Today it's 21 different disabilities which are covered under the act. So the no of People included as PWDs has gone up.
Goa will be starting a census very soon which will threw up startling figures.
No. of mental hospitals in India for a population of 1.35 billion people :
☆ 47 government run mental hospitals
☆ 40 state run hospitals
 ☆  3 central institutes
No. of psychiatric departments in India in medical colleges :
183 in Government
215 in private
Globally India Is ranked at 61st in mental health.
So why and from which category is disabilities increasing and what that got to do with fertility rate and care givers / labour ?
Well 5 -6 groups can be summarized where mental disabilities will rise quickly
A.  05 years -15 years
B. 15 years -21 years
C. 25 years -35 years
D. 35 years- 50 years
E. 50 years – and above
Take the
◇ 1st category 5 years – 15 years
Too much of screen time which will take a toll on the cells of little children which will start to affect the mind.
Children today are not playing sports as it was 20 years back.
