STREET PROVIDENCE GOA recently dispatched a significant shipment of essential medicines to Manipur 3 days ago.
The attached list provides details of the medicines sent in strips.
To determine the cost of this consignment, one can easily search for the individual items on Google.
We have a comprehensive understanding of sickness and suffering, as evidenced by our operation of eight shelter homes in Goa for the homeless.
However, we recognize that those residing in relief camps face even greater challenges.
That's why we have made the decision to travel from Goa, which is nearly 4000 kilometers away, to offer whatever assistance we can to the people in Manipur.
On June 24th, while the San Joao festival was being celebrated in Goa, our team tirelessly coordinated the sourcing, arrangement, sorting, packing, and dispatch of these medicines from Delhi to nearest border state.
It was no easy task, but we managed to put together this quantity in just eight hours.
Due to numerous logistical issues, it is challenging to directly transport goods into the state.
Extensive coordination is required due to limited network availability and a complete internet shutdown across Manipur.
However, we are in contact with our team members at six major relief camps in Manipur.
This consignment of medicines departed from Delhi on Saturday night and is expected to reach border state by Thursday.
If all goes well, it should arrive in Imphal on Friday.
Once this medicine consignment is delivered, we plan to send another consignment of psychiatric medication.
We have employed two full time staff in
Churachandpur district &
Kangpopki district
Mr H Khongsai for Kangpokpi District, who is an under graduate with 6 years of social work experience &
Mr S Seiminthang for Churachandpur district, who is a graduate with 10 years of experience in social work.
These two districts have the most no of relief camps and we have day to day data sent to me by these staff as well as our local volunteers.
We rely on your support to continue assisting those in need amidst the conflict in Manipur.
This week, we aim to send 13 tonnes of dry ration directly from the neighboring state to our base via truck, which will then be distributed to the relief camps in both these districts.
If you can contribute towards the partial payment for this truck, we would be immensely grateful.
The truck will carry the following items:
☆ 10000 kgs of rice
☆ 1000 kgs of dhal
☆ 1000 kgs of onions
☆ 1000 kgs of potatoes,
We can facilitate the bill in your name directly for the quantity you wish to sponsor, and you can make the payment to the supplier through NEFT if desired or to our NGO & claim the tax rebate under section 80G.
Additionally, if necessary, we can provide you with appreciation and publicity on social media.
Let's join forces and do what we can, even from 4000 kilometers away, in our beautiful Goa.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated benefactors for standing by us and the people of Manipur during this conflict.
Please note there are no internet facility in Manipur so pictures are an issue but by this Saturday we will be able to put out a few pictures of the relief material which we have sent
We operate strictly through whstsapp messages only on 8380097564 so please avoid calling unnecessarily.
God bless you so much
