It's the FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS & WE @ Street Providence Goa wish each and every one of you A Very Happy Diwali Festival.
We @ Street Providence gave away a little for the poor in Goa for DIWALI.
In Manipur, for Diwali , we planned to give away 1000 sweet boxes but due to continuous blockade , this did not happen today but it will happen in the coming week as sweet boxes are ready in Guwahati but transportation is an issue into IMPHAL.
IN Jharkhand, we are giving away for DIWALI something warm for 500 children but yet to get the details.
Whatever you SOW, to bring LIGHT into a poor people life, AUTOMATICALLY comes back to you, bringing LIGHT into your life.
Just four days ago, our Young Volunteer from Curchorem, Mr Akash Pednekar, distributed on behalf of our NGO to 100 poor Goan families in that area , 1 pkt each of Phova & 1 pkt of Jaggery.
And this is the 3rd year running, he is distributing on behalf of our NGO pre-Diwali all by himself.
I told him ” no pictures required “.
This small gesture surely brought little LIGHT to these families to some extent.
But Last night , A retired School Teacher from
St Theresa School , Candolim , Sir Domnic Colaco, ( along with his team ) also brought LIGHT to our NGO by managing to raise a huge amount of donation for Manipur displaced people.
Well you must be aware that we are attempting to raise CREAMUX Cookies & REGOs BEBINCA for the displaced people in Manipur through our 4th truck which leaves on 18.11.23.
Sir Domnic, ( along with his team ) organized a tiatr in AID of our MANIPUR RELIEF , which I was aware, but WAS not ACTUALLY aware that it's SOLELY organized by Sir Domnic and that this tiatr was his baby & that too Sir Domnic organizing a tiatr at this age inspite of being a senior citizen.
I mean who at this age will want to take trouble and headache to raise funds for those displaced in relief camps ?
Alot of people WHATSAPP me the tickets that were printed and inquired if it's for STREET PROVIDENCE which I said YES.
I never expected that the entire benefit of this tiatr after meeting all expenses would be so much and all this benefit would be used for our MANIPUR RELIEF Christmas hamper.
Our Trustee Mrs Caroline Collaso & our Volunteer Mr Arturo Dsouza were present on behalf of our NGO and I am sure they too were taken aback that this tiatr was organized solely by Sir Domnic Colaco ( and his team).
My association with Sir Domnic goes back to about 10 years back at NCH , Calangute.
Everyone who knows Sir Domnic will agree with me that Sir Domnic is a very soft spoken , quite and practical man who gets the job done once he puts his hand to that job.
But he putting in effort last 3 months to get a tiatr organized and that too at the right time when we are attempting to arrange & meet the deadline.
Sir Domnic ( and his team ) gesture in BRINGING LIGHT to those who need the most and that too on the eve of DIWALI, means alot to me.
Festivals knows no religion.
Hunger & homelessness knows no religion.
Humanity needs to be lived and not preached.
Bringing LIGHT to those in darkness, poverty, hunger, war, Infliction, riot , earthquake, etc should be the motive of those who have the resources to contribute.
♡♡♡ Once again A BIG thank you to Sir Domnic & his team as well as those sponsors who backed up this tiatr to raise resources for our MANIPUR RELIEF.
I end with all my sincere WISHES to each and every one of you reading this post .
HAPPY DIWALI TO ONE AND ALL.🪔
God bless you all
