STARTING FROM TODAY, WE WILL BE HIGHLITING THE FATE OF ABSOLUTELY POOR ETHNIC GOANS WHO ARE POOR , HOMELESS AND SUFFERING FROM MENTAL, INTELLECTUAL & PHYSICAL DISABILITIES

18.10.2023. 10am IST
In a series of posts starting from today, we will be highliting the fate of absolutely poor ethnic Goans who are poor , homeless and suffering from mental,  intellectual & physical disabilities with only two solutions infront of them – stay on the streets or stay in a shelter home.
And what we are going to consistently highlight is all those from our shelter homes.
And looking at this section of society day by day increasing STREET PROVIDENCE shelter homes were started way back in 2017.
Last decade the % of person with disabilites was say 1 : 10 or 1 : 7
Post covid, % of disabilities is touching 1 : 5 and that's very scary & alarming.
Which means today in India about 20 to 25 crore population is suffering from disabilities.
Health care, medication, rehabilitation, care givers, awareness, mid way homes are the need of the hour and this is a very expensive affair which the authorities don't feel comfortable to address and look into.
We are working on the problem by starting shelter homes where the authorities have failed to address .
We are consistently starting new homes looking at the numerous poor goans suffering from mental disabilities.
As of today we have in Goa :
☆ 5 women homes & 4 men's home

☆ Coming next month, another 2 homes starting:
》1 home for ladies &
》1 home for senior citizen goan parents only
But running free shelter homes for the poor & homeless goans with disabilites requires funding from the Government as well as donations.
♡♡♡ Well, We thank the Government for the support through :
♡ The Social Welfare Department &
♡ The Women & Child Department
But the funding given is calculated and designed in 2006 whereas we are In 2023.
Its getting very very difficult to manage with the grants given by both the departments as the calculation was done way back in 2004 / 2006.
Besides its going to next to impossible to accommodate so many requests as BELIVE me it's too many out there.
And 90% requests are really sorry miserable pathetic yet genuine poor goans asking for a place to stay due to poverty and mental disabilities.
Two Government department who we thank & are grateful, for making our life a little easy is :
☆ DHS ( Directorate of Health Services ) & IPHB ( Mental hospital, Bambolim )
Without their support , things would not be that easy.
We badly require more support from GMC & 108
Please watch our video in this link and understand how difficult and complicated it's is  to care for poor people with disabilities ( but yet it is  possible ).
Your support is what we require.
We will get highliting close to 120+ poor goan homeless & those suffering from disabilites across all our homes of the 165 people we currently care for.
God bless you so much
