STREET PROVIDENCE GOA,  two member team comprising of Sir Bosco George IPS retd & Joseph Fernandes, which had gone on our 4th relief trip to Manipur on 29th September finally landed safely back in Goa tonight.
Before leaving for Goa , our team had a small conversation with A young Naga Catholic priest, Fr Francis Vialo , who is the man incharge of the entire relief work happening through the Archdiocese of Imphal.
Two small videos which you should watch. 👇
Young , Highly educated ( LLB , LLM ) , quick on his feet , always a Broad Smile, extremely easy to get along with , hands on job man , no nonsense and no time wasting , in short A LIVE WIRE in an atmosphere of sorrow , stress & gloom.
For me personally “a one stop man for all and everything our NGO is doing in MANIPUR “.
Without Fr Francis , we @ Street Providence would not have been able to be MOTIVATED to carry on MANIPUR RELIEF as its all complicated and very very challenging doing what we have been doing last 5 months and counting.
Fr Francis takes care of :
☆ Logistics
☆ Convinces the local chiefs to support ☆ the humanitarian causes,
☆ At times to move relief aid – finds alternative routes to remote areas ,
☆ Permissions to get relief aid moving across districts which is not a joke.
And mind you it's 5 full months of nerve wrecking, mind blowing co ordination & communications .
Fr Francis enjoys good will across many district's and across sections of society & all communities in Manipur.
For those across CBCI who know Fr Francis – in short ” he is everywhere and anywhere all the time “.
Never a No & never it can't be done.
We have given him so many ideas & suggestions and he has got things going.
We are the only NGO across INDIA who had visualized starting shelter homes in Manipur and Fr Francis understood the need for such a service.
Work has just started on our the 1st such FULL FLEDGED Shelter home for the homeless & those with disabilities right in the heart of IMPHAL CITY.
Infact the commitment of The Archdiocese of Imphal to the shelter homes project is so high , that they have deputed a PRIEST from the Archdiocese, to our NGO in Goa and this priest arrived on 29th Sept and will be here till 30th Oct to study and understand how to take care of the homeless & those with mental disabilities.
With the Grace of God, one of our relief truck in the future could also be blessed by
The Archbishop of Manipur as we have invited Rev Fr Domnic Lumon to Goa to which our invitation has been accepted.
Lastly alot more help is required in the relief camps and we have 3 relief trucks planned for
Mid October, mid November & early December.
Then we take a break as our 1st shelter home is expected to start in December in Manipur and that means one / two of our many team members will always be present in Manipur round the clock.
With YOU – Yes You generous and committed BENEFACTORS we are doing the best we can In bringing HOPE to those in these difficult & complicated situations.
God bless you all
