FOOD BANK FOR THE POOR SANGOLDA GOA requests those working in companies and those owning bakeries to kindly watch the video and support us in feeding the hungry .
From May 2017 till early March 2020 , we never had a problem for food.
Every day all our fridges and our daily collection would be approx 2000 kgs of food .
Because of the food bank program we started rehabilitation of homeless street people as food , cake , bread, toasts were in plenty.
Daily we had so much food coming that we were able to feed about 5000 meals worth of food across Goa though our 40 fridges and 300+ volunteers.
But the COVID 19 & the lockdown changed all that .
With everything shut I was forced to feed the men in our homes just plain rice and dhal as costs were going through the roof and donations taking a dip .
For the hungry on the streets , we were buying food for the last 3 months and we were feeding daily 1000 to 1500 to 2000 meals a day .
But now about 10 % of that earlier food has started coming into the food bank .

The only place today that has plenty of EXTRA food is FACTORIES.
It's like this
☆ 1. Canteen food for the staff is bought from outside by the factories.
☆ 2. Whatever remains is taken back by the contractor .
☆ 3. But that food had been paid for by the factory.
☆ 4. So basically that extra food is profit to the canteen contractor who might be giving it to his staff or etc.
☆ 5. If the factory can give the FOOD BANK that extra food , we can feed alot of hungry people like before across Goa .

We are now across entire GOA and logistics is not an issue.
We will install fridges in factories like we have installed at COLGATE & DECCAN and collect that extra food daily .
