STREET PROVIDENCE GOA , runs 3 Physiotherapy centre's, FREE of cost for the inmates in our homes who are homeless & are suffering from disabilities.
We have 3 Physiotherapy clinics at :
☆ 1. Quepem
☆ 2. Cavelossim
☆ 3. Sangolda
The 1st two are in house facility for the homeless who are rehabilitated in Quepem & Cavelossim homes.
The clinic at Sangolda caters to our 5 shelter Homes situated in North Goa & has a Grant from the Social Welfare Department towards the equipment.
At Sangolda we have a full time Physiotherapist who comes in daily in the morning and attends to 7 to 8 patients.
These are both ladies and Gents and they are transported from different Homes of our NGO to this clinic by our van along with an attendant.
Most of them are well chair bound and are Wheeled up and down which takes alot of effort and care.
Few are stroke related caes and most are suffering from both physical and mental disabilities which I feel upset about.
In the other two centers @ Quepem & Cavelossim these homeless are staying in the same shelter homes so transportation is ruled out .
Quepem & Cavelossim we have sessions every alternate days.
At All our 3 Physiotherapy centre's we focus continously on the most severe and chronic patients till they are able to stand and walk alone and today of the 160+ patients we have, 65% are our ethnic goans.
If Physiotherapy is not provided the no of incapicated or bed ridden will rise immediately and that puts pressure on the care givers .

Cavelossim & Quepem were put into operation only by mid Nov 2022.
Since Physiotherapist are professionals, we need to pay the Doctor a fee every month.
And the doctors are changing our NGO less than the market rate as its for a cause towards the poor and the homeless.
Also As the equipment is all belonging to the NGO which is donated by 3 benefactors & Social Welfare Department has given us a Grant towards the Physiotherapy centre equipment @ Sangolda , the Doctors fees are at a lesser rate .
We require support in the form of funding towards these Physiotherapist fees at our 3 Physiotherapy centre in Goa on a monthly basis.
Our NGO again must be the only Shelter homes in Goa if not In India where the homeless street people with disabilities are rehabilitated with free Physiotherapy sessions.
